MOrning Ladies!

Well .. ystdy - me and SIL met n did Asylum - S&A  ok .. it has prbly been a year since i did it .. it kicked my butt! WOW .. have I lost some endurance i had for that workout!! :( DOMS: hammies - SHOULDERS - arms and core!! popping ibuprofen as i type!

Lori - been meaning to ask do you run every day .. ?? if so do you vary your runs -like .. long run .. then short run .. etc ... ????

DI - YIKES running stairs after ViPR training  WTG!!!! AFter S&A whooped my butt thinking maybe I need to do more asylum workouts .. i liked it so much better than insanity .. I like that is involves WHOLE body and muscle work!

Wendy - all of those are brilliant ideas! do a search on outdoor bootcamp on the net .. there are a lot of ideas and a lot of forums to get good advice and even "starter kits" ... if you do that .. remember to get liability releases and look into insurance?? That is what is great about being employed by a gym ..they will cover the liability insurance part of it! Still get releases signed tho .. I LOVE the idea of a YOUTUBE video! that is an excellent idea that could be used several different ways .. hey gals .. we could be cyber pals w/the NEXT internet fitness sensation .. we will have to come up w/a catchy name for you tho!!!! :D:D:D:D .. if you do that make sure to "teach" live before filming .. gain that confidence .. that "drill sargeant" take charge I know what I am doing confidence!!! .. then do some test shoots and tweek your routine and cueing etc!!!

OK .. not sure if today will be a rest day - or what .. my body is hurtin!! Better run .. have a great day!

Hi Girls. :)

After a nice snooze this morning I felt awake enough to do yoga. I know that sounds funny but contrary to popular belief, you DO need to be awake! :p LOL So anyway, I did my Kundalini Body Electric DVD - 70 mins. Felt great!:D

Diana:: That vipr class sounds mad hard! You go girl! Ofcourse we all know how tough Insanity is! Why do you think I've only done a full rotation just ONE time? ;):p:D I SHOULD do it though coz if ANYTHING is going to get these last few pesky "vacation pounds" off of me, it'll be that! I recently unsubscribed to Cathe's newsletter b/c I rarely read it or most of the other garbage I get in my box. Not calling Cathe's newsletter garbage by any means, but I just don't read it! Now I might have to take a gander at the article on shorter work outs though! You know how I love them and they work for me! Now I may find out WHY! LOL My SIL worked primarily out of a gym for as long as she's trained (about 8 years now I think). She had done a few clients here and there at her home but the gym was her bread and butter. Recently though, the gym shut down and she lost her job so she's taken her clients to her house and trains them all there now. She partnered up with another trainer from the gym so they do it together out of the house. Seems to be working out quite well for them so far! I'm very happy for her and a wee bit jealous too! :p

Laura:: Great job with your Asylum work out! Now I REALLY need to consider Insanity as I am getting influence from 2 sides here! So my SIL recently had to aquire her own liability insurance due to the above situation I just explained to Di (see underlined portion). She said it's pretty inexpensive at just about $200 for the year. Thank goodness! I'm not sure about waivers but I'll definitely need to investigate that part further if I see myself getting somewhere with this venture this time! I will definitely be searching you tube for ideas as well as BR and LovingFit. My SIL and all of the trainers she worked with all do it. Maybe some day someone will look at MY work out on youtube for ideas! ;)

Lori:: Sorry you weren't thrilled with Drop Sets. LOL re your popped balls thanks to your son. My son likes to play with my ball as well. I've only let him use it a few times and only in the house. It makes me very nervous that he's going to hurt himself!

Hello. :)

Just finished dinner. This is what I made::

Hoisin Chicken and Broccoli Stir-Fry Recipe | MyRecipes.com

I didn't have water chestnuts or sesame oil on hand so I just left them out. No broccoli so I subbed in fresh green bell peppers. Served it over a bed of couscous. DELICIOUS! :D Diana, I bet you could easily sub in some type of beef in this recipe instead of the chicken and it would come out just as good if not better! :)

And that's all I've got folks so I'll be back in the morning!

Hey Girls:)

Thought I'd catch up tonight instead of in the morning...although I'm getting kinda sleepy!

Today I did the chest and back work of drop sets. I also did some Ab work and a 10.5 k run after dinner. I dunno about Amy. She had to drop to her knees for the last set of pushups?? Really??? I was surprised by that. Anyway....

Wendy** yeah watching people workout is the same as me attending races and watching from the sidelines! No good!! Have you decided which route you are gonna take? Ive often thought about what I would do If we moved to a rural area. Would be a great place to teach some kind of boot camp class...outdoors I mean. I could easily have people running around like crazy people but to stand in front of a class and teach step wouldn't be my cup of tea! Im sure you'll figure it out.

Diana** I'm with Wendy...that class sounds tough. If all goes well, we would have to relocate every 4 years. I'm sure in some situations you may be able to extend your stay. I know of one guy who just moved and he was here 7 years. If that's the case we might not have to pull the boys in and out of school as often as I thought.

Laura** I kind of mix my runs up for whatever I'm in the mood for. Somedays I leave here thinking that I would be happy with 8 k but once I get out, I'm usually good for more then that. If I run on the tm though I usually only run for a little while and then mix it up. I don't know if I could get on there and run like I use too.

I will bb in the morning! Bright and early....

Lori:)

Lori:: What's the purpose behind moving every 5-7 years? Sounds more like the army then a police force but I guess with a different country comes a different way of doing things! :) My DH wants to try and vacation in Canada over the next couple years (in the Summer) and if he does I'll let you know. Maybe you'll be close enough that we could plan a gtg! :D Did Amy really need to go to her knees or was she just showing a modification? If all goes well, I would truly like to get both certs. There are pros and cons for both so I think mixing it up and doing a little of each...or atleast having that option...would be a big plus! I posted on the O/D about getting a job when you are first starting out in the industry and someone posted about a woman who uses space (rents it, I assume) in her Church basement to run fitness classes 2 mornings per week. The OP said she advertised in the Church flyer once and has been running the classes for 6 years since then just based on word of mouth! That's fantastic! I would LOVE to do something like that! :D I couldn't rent a space for P/T. I'd have to go to a gym for that I think but it's definitely a possibility for classes if I don't find anything at a gym I'm thinkin'! :)

Ok, I should have been in bed an hour ago. I'm sooo tired!

TTYITAM!

Good Morning:)

The baby slept until little after 7...what a treat!:D I needed that.

I'm not sure what I will do today. It's really windy out so I'm probably not going to run with the stroller. Next week I will have to mix things up b/c I am getting together with some girls and their babies in tues afternoon, training mon and fri afternoon and I have a relesate agent coming by for a look on another afternoon. Maybe I could plan that for a afternoon when I have something else on the go. That's four afternoons I won't be able to run in the afternoon :( so I will just have to jam it all in one morning.

Wendy** I'm not sure what the purpose is in moving all the time. It's a lot like the army when it comes to that. They do take your spouses job into consideration though, unlike the army. We have a friend whose spent his whole career in this area. His wife as a good job so they just moved him around to near by places so he never had to move out of his home and uproute his kids. Now she had a even better job and he can retire so I'm guessing they will never move now. Renting a space is a awesome idea!! There is a girl here who teaches yoga/BC/ and something else. For ages she has rented places and all of her classes sell out. Apparently she is a wonderful yoga instructor...not that I'd know:p. She did classes in brazil or somewhere...anyway, she is finally building her own building. A lot of people enjoy going places other then a gym. Most people think gyms are for people already in shape and all they will see is people strutting around in spandex:eek: And I don't know why Amy went to her knees, unless I missed something. She did 8,10&12 pushups. The first and last set I had to put my hands out further...which IMO would work the shoulders more then the chest. And she just said "the last set were are going to do on our knees". My weights are always heavier then hers as well. I just thought it was weird that she would have to drop to her knees for 12 pushups.

I will bbl! Have a good friday everyone!

Lori:)

Good Morning Girls!

TGIF!!!!:D

Well, when I leave here to take DS to school around 7:15am I am heading straight up to SIL's to take her 9am class. Hopefully I won't be there too long after the class is over. I have things I need to do!

My plan is to get to a couple of the TRX classes with my groupon next week so long as I survive today's work out!;):p And maybe I'll do a few Insanity work outs next week as well!!!...If I can move!!!!

Lori:: So then what are you waiting for? Hurry up and get your own personal training biz going so that DH won't have to go far!!!! ;):D Wow you are always on the go huh? I couldn't handle that. I need my "down time"...I tend to be easily overwhelmed when I have too much going on at once. :(

BBL!

Hi Ladies,

I think I screwed up on my Insanity rotation...not sure though. Today will be CPR and then Sunday I'll do Pure Cardio. I struggled with my favorite-pushup jacks the last time I did PC. I can tell I'm getting better at these w/o's, but the level 1 drills/ski abs/in-out abs....well let's just say I can't get through those without taking several breaks...UGH. My thought was to jump to month 2, but I obviously need this time to improve my endurance!

Made it to the the gym yesterday and did back & shoulders/abs....I'll hit biceps sat or sun. They have some short straight bars but they don't have the weights on them (how much the bar weighs) so I prefer to do GS Biceps at home.

Jerod has the varsity game at home tonight and JV game tomorrow. The JV game is at least an hour...probably closer to an hour and 15 mins away. I won't have time to w/o in the morning before we leave for his game. Next week his game on Friday at 3pm, in a city an hour away. I guess it's a good reason to only work half day next Friday.:p

Wendy-your dinner sounds delicious! I can't wait to hear what you think of TRX, it's an amazing piece of equipment that can be used almost anywhere! Have fun at SIL's class. What kind of class is it? It would be nice if you could work at a gym and build up a clientele before trying it on your own. You also wouldn't have the overhead expense of renting some place. This just occured to me...There is a nearby gymnastics studio the a trainer rents space from. This particular gym uses kettlebell's, weighted balls, things that don't take up a lot of space...and uses tabata or HIIT training/circuits. That might be an option too.

Lori-Well I lived through changing schools a lot, never went to the same school 2 years in a row until middle school, grades 7/8. Went 1 year to the nearby high school, then moved and changed HS for grades 10-12. The temps will be the 80's the next few days, still waiting for the 70's to run at lunch.:p You have a lot going on next week. Didn't you build your house new? Hopefully the housing market in Canada isn't what it is in the US, pretty poor.

Laura-Oh yes, good ole S&A! I do have say the asylum w/o's are just not as insane as Insanity. The 3 main w/o's of Insanity M1 are all running together in my head as they are all so similar, but with some differences. What's on your agenda today? I have an amazon coupon that I'm hoping to use on Horizontal Bootcamp. Perhaps this weekend I can get that ordered.

Happy Friday!!!

TGIF >> WOOOOHOOO

MOrning Ladies ..

I am in another office .. supposed to be slow and I am swamped!! ugh! I was hoping for nonstressfull easy day . HA!! crap! I went for a run after work last night .. and my stupid stupid bandaide slid off on both blisters .. and they are RAW now .. I cant even wear shoes .. have on flip flops today  I still managed 3.5 PAINFUL miles .. but had intentions of doing longer run .. cRAP!!!!!!! now I can forget running for while .. till blisters heal .. heck right now dont see how I will mange to put on any shoes to do any kind of workout ..:mad::mad: I brought my yoga tapes today .. and my 10# and 5# dumbells .. gonna try to do something at lunch that dont require tennis shoes ..

Lori - OK .. did I miss something .. who is AMY??? Amy Bento? or a friend of yours .. I have never gotten Amy Bento workouts .. i cant stand her cheerleading style instructing .. and the woohoos she does .. grates on my last nerve ..I would rather an instructor be serious and yell at me .. like Bob or Sean T .. or be serious and funny like Cathe!

Wendy - I started off teaching like that .. at the bank I worked .. for NO PAY .. my classes got so big that my students found me a place .. unused building .. little rent .. just had to pay utitilies .. and then I went from there to different gyms .. A church would be great if they allowed it .. one thing you run into sometimes nonprofit groups wont allow profit businesses .. i like the bootcamp idea too .. I wanted to do that here .. but recent things have happened and I dont see it ever happening now! but look into school stadiums/fields .. parks ...etc ..

Di .. think that is why I like Asylum better .. it isnt as INSANE .. a little safer and seems to work more muscles! LOL .. I think once my stupid stupid blisters heal I may have to go back to some of both of those workouts!!

OK .. better run .. taken forever to type this .. have a great weekend .. me and DH have plans to fish this weekend .. just around here .. rivers and creeks .. but FUN!!! ok .. better run .. and BTW .. WAAAAARRRRR EAGLE .. although .. I dont have much faith we have any shot at winning anything this year .. LOL!!!

Hello Ladies...

So I went to my SIL's and took her TRX "class"...and um...well....fantastic work out but...I kinda sorta got sick and had to stop early (after about 30 minutes). I got extremely nauseus, light headed and thought I might pass out. It was AWFUL!!!!! Thankfully it didn't last but maybe 10-15 minutes but I was NOT working out anymore! I am sure I probably pushed too hard and possibly didn't eat enough (I ate breakfast at 7 and we didn't start working out until 9:30). I usually atleast have a piece of fruit right before a work out if I didn't recently have meal but this time all I had was coffee...Not shying away though! Still going to try the groupon classes and may go back up to give it another go with my SIL as well. In fact, I already looked em up online and I am going to have DH check where the studs in the walls in the work out room are to see if we could attach the anchor and I can get me one of my own for Christmas maybe!;):D

Laura:: OUCH! Sorry about your blisters! I hate that!!! What were you able to do as far as a work out? Funny you should say you taught for free in the beginning because I was thinking of doing that with a bootcamp class if I was able to get one together just to test it out and see what people think before I start charging! If I get certified and can get something like that going outside of a gym then that will give me some sort of experience to put on my resume (plus references) and it should make it easier to find a job to do P/T'ing in! I was also thinking that if I don't do choreographed group work outs like step, etc, then I don't even need my group fitness cert! I can run circuit/bootcamp style classes without it no problem so we will see what happens! :)

Diana:: Month 2 Insanities are brutal! I don't blame you for not jumping into them! Have fun at DS' games! My DS should be re-starting karate next month...I hope!!! DH said he wants to give football a try so he is going to sign up next year. It's not something with the school. I think it's affiliated with the parks system or something.

That's all for now. Gotta get dinner goin'...BBL or ITAM!

Good Morning

Up way to early. What do people do who don't drink coffee??? I don't think I'd survive. I need a good kick in the rear when the baby wakes up some early. But I could have it worse. I figured while DH was away I was gonna be up in the night time while the baby was cutting his teeth and so far that's never happened. I must go into a pretty deep sleep when I go to sleep cause I don't know how I last all day without getting tired.

I started checking in yesterday afternoon but I lost the post, got contrary so I ditched the computer!

Yesterday I did PUB shoul, bic, tris and abs, 15 mins on the tm and then I tried one of my new workouts. It was Mindys tabata with toys. It was fun! It's broken up into 18 segments, each one being 4 mins cause it's tabata. Some were tougher then others. She mixes it up with lots of different equipment. The only thing she didn't use was the step, at least I finally got to use the bosu.

I'm not sure what workout I will do today. DS has a bday at 12 and gymnastics at 2...im not sure if I will get to the party but I think b/c I'm up so early I will be getting my workout in early. I'm leaning towards AB and a run or a run and legs.

Wendy** see...this is what happens when your body is use to to much yoga:p Do a good workout and you feel like passing out:D... I'm just kidding. Lord knows we've all felt like that a time or two. Why do you think I don't do insanity?. Depending on where we move, I probably will start something related to fitness. Let's just get through the next few weeks first. That place makes me so nervous. I had a bad stomach last night for no good reason...only worry. I'll have a ulcer yet.

Laura** ugh...Ive had a few blisters in my day! It's been a while though. I use to buy the band aids for blisters and I think I remember them sliding off. I guess they weren't meant for people who want to run! When I did my first mary my running partner had a huge blister by the time she was done. Someone told her to wear her shoes a size to big, which kind of makes sense b/c your feet swell when you run that far..but not that much. I think her blister came from her shoes being to big and her foot sliding back and forth. I wasn't buying my shoes a size to big....I always bought my normal size and I never had issues.

Diana** you have a busy couple of weekends with games. DD is trying out for the vball team again this year. That will keep me some what busy on weekends but of course it all depends on where she needs to play. I can't very well bring a 5 yr old and a baby to watch games:confused:. Oh man...they use to get so sookie when they would lose! Lol they looked so childish walking around like babies. Why did you move around so much when you were a child? I can't imagine being moved from school to school but I think it's all what they are use to.

I will bbl to report my workout. I may do some cleaning before I start my workout. I feel the need to gut again.....there's to much crap in this house!

Lori:)

Hi Ladies,

We are just waiting for MIL to get here and then we will head out to Jerod's football game. The varsity team lost last night 38-10. We just had too many turnovers and couldn't recover. Here's hoping the JV team wins today.

Not sure if I will w/o or not, but if so it will definitely be Biceps and then next Insanity in the rotation. No promises though.:p

Lori-I can't live without my coffee in the morning either. Definitely need my usual 2 cups or more! Nice workout!! I previewed Mindy's Tabata Bootcamp and it looks a lot like what we do in our bootcamp classes, and super fun too. I don't have a bosu but I could make it work anyway. I recall dragging my Jerod to his older brothers activities, which is why we made them come to his stuff when they were older. Obviously they are adults now and can care less what Jerod does.

bbl, MIL is here.

Hello Ladies.:)

Well, I was supposed to go to the gym with DH this morning and run but we were being lazy and never got motivated until about 11am. By then it was too late to go together coz babysitting closes at noon and we never would've been done by then so told DH to go and I'd exercise at home. Here's what I did...

30 min Leg, Kickbox and Core Circuit:: I made it up myself as practice for the future. ;)

30 mins of Biggest Loser Weight Loss Yoga. :)

So OMG, my upper body is soooo sore from the TRX! My lower body pretty much felt fine...until I started exercising that is and then OUCHEES! LOL :p

Lori:: LOL - I said the same thing to my SIL about all the yoga I did this week and look at how it repayed me - first work out back and I get sick!:p Nice work out today girl! IDK how non-coffee drinkers survive either! I think I would die!

Diana:: Sorry DS' team lost last night. Hopefully they come back and win next time! :)

Ok, DH just got home which means it's LUNCH TIME so BBL!

Good Morning:)

Another early rise:confused:. I think my mom may be coming this week for a couple of days so I should get to sleep in at some point in time....I can only hope:rolleyes:.

Yesterday I took DS to gymnastics, which I think he enjoyed. Its only once a week. To tell you the truth, I don't think he enjoys anything that's organized. He just likes to run around like a mad man and do his own thing. I asked him if he liked it and he said "yes"....asked him if he w going back and he said "no". But it's not until next Saturday. He might think its today again. He has no concept in anything beyond yesterday and tomorrow.

So DH feels prepared for his exam and his drive he needs to redo. I'm not sure if I told you about his drive he received a "U" in (unexceptable). He ended up going through a construction site that's not normally there, blowing a stop sign that had a car parked in front of it. So he has his exam at 8 and his drive at 11. Tomorrow is a big day....

I'm not sure what workout I will do today. I should probably take a rest day but I'm up so early that! I need to fill my day with at least 2 hours of something:eek:. DS has a birthday party from 12-2. I'm hoping to take him but if the baby is napping then she offered to pick him up. Either way, he will get to go..

I feel a little sore from the past two workouts. I'm sore in my upper abs and hammies from tabata and I know I did AB yesterday too:).

Wendy** hows your YouTube workout production coming along? ;) I don't know if I could handle watching myself...lol. I don't even like hearing myself:eek:. I guess you two don't motivate each other to go to the gym:p. We use to have lazier Sunday mornings more so then Saturday mornings. Of course DHs day never bad a workout in it. If he were home I'd be getting a lot of early morning runs in...or sleep ins!

Diana** how did the guys do yesterday? Yeah I'm guessing the older boys aren't to concerned about jerod now:rolleyes:..usually the way it goes. Is jerod the only one living home now?

Laura** hope your enjoying your weekend.

One of DH troop member has his house sold and it's conditional. I'm thinking we should do the same. We could list it and if we sell it, it will be on a conditional basis. I will wait and see how monday goes before I make that descision!

Bbl!

Lori:)

Workout is done. I did HR abs, cyclemax and the standing leg work in LBB. I don't think my body would have allowed me to do the floor work, even if I had the time. My legs were burning. If I dont have DOMS tomorrow, then I quit!;) not really.....:p

Bbl!
Lori:)

Hello Ladies!:)

Fly by check in! Did Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit this morning, then Church. Now we are off to the horse races for the afternoon! FUN! :D

BBL or in the morning!

Hi Ladies,

Woo Hoo, Jerods team won yesterday 27-21!!! He had a ton of playing time and he was beat by the time he got home. He had a great game and even got a couple of sacks!!!:D

No workout for yesterday, we ended up going out to lunch with MIL after the game....bout 2:45. Today is the next Insanity w/o, biceps and abs.

DH and I are celebrating our 24yr anniversary today. It's actually tomorrow but the Bronco's play on Monday night. We have reservations and an expensive restaurant that we only go to on very special occasions. I'm wearing a new dress & shoes too!

Wendy-way to go on PCC missy!! I'm always such a sweaty mess when I get done with those w/o's. Sorry about the episode with TRX. I always w/o on an empty stomach, usually within an hour or so of rising. If I wait too long (like sometimes on the weekends), I have the same issue you did. Not sure if you know this or not, but you can attach the TRX to a door too, that's what I did. Have fun at the races!

Lori-keeping my fingers crossed that DH passes his exams tomorrow. I'm sure it's very stressful for both of you. You are just the energizer bunny and put us all to shame. I don't know how you find the time and energy with a baby and 5 yr old. I wish Jerod were the only one living at home, but all 3 boys are here. We will be have a chat with the older boys, discussing their options (rent) if they want to continue living here. DS1 already pays a very small amount, but that will be going up and we will be charging them both the same amount starting in January.

Laura-hope you are having a fabulous weekend.:)

Just enjoying a coffee while the baby naps. The birthday party was a little hectic. There were a lot of kids there but thank goodness they have a huge home. They even had a clown making balloons...DS really enjoyed it.

Wendy** good job at getting your workout done before church :) my mom would love you ;)

Diana** as hard as it might be, your probably going to have to do something if not they might never leave. Feeding extra people and having them showering everyday adds up. I don't know about your kids but when DD gets in the shower she doesn't know when to get out.

Why are people such idiots!? When I was at the party I had a tart like thing, filled with some kind of caramel something or another. I don't eat hot dogs and Im not a burger fan, plus I didn't want to ruin my dinner. So I was picking at some fruit. One mother says " look at you being a good girl". I said " well I already had one of those cookies and I might have another". She said " I guess your going to have to run 20 km now to burn that off". I could have took her hot dog and jammed in her big mouth. I hate it when people make asumptions that im petrifed im going to get fat. They have no clue what my daily life consist of. Truth be known i eat more then them. God forbid you exercise b/c you enjoy it, I guess when they see me run past their houses they think I should stop now. People think the only purpose is to lose weight. Idiots! That's my rant...

Lori :)

Hi Girls,

Back to report GS Biceps, Insanity Pure Cardio, TTM Abs...Completed. I'm a sweaty mess but am sitting down and eating. Then I'll go change out of my sweaty clothes and get the lawn mowed. I have laundry going...although I got a late start, its turning out to be a productive day!

Lori-My DH would be at the top of that list too, just doesn't understand why I enjoy exercising so much. You probably wanted to throttle that girl. On top of enjoying exercise, there are just so many health reasons that there really isn't any reason for people not to exercise...IMO. Glad DS enjoyed the party though.
