Commit to get Fit & Lean for April 2015

DO YOU HEAR THE SOUND OF THE WAGON BEING GROUND TO A HALT? Yes, that is me grabbing it with both hands and pulling it to a stop so I CAN CLIMB BACK ON.

Hello. I AM BACK.

The past two months were insane. It was crazy busy at work-one weekend I had five events and more than 50 people traveling!!-and I was in cover design and editing for the May book...I'm four chapters away from finishing the November book-and to be honest, I couldn't juggle everything and quit working out. Felt guilt so I didn't check in. And ate Lucky Charms instead.

But now I'm back in control of things and determined TO STAY ON THE PROGRAM.

So, with that said:

M: KCM Weights #1
T: RWH Low Impact #2

I've decided that I can't do a planned rotation because it just frustrates me to no end. :) I'll just try a good mix of weights and cardio as I get back into shape.

:) Wendy

Hey guys. Just finished STS M2 D13, Legs. The trisets are tough, but I love them! I also did the extended stretch. I spent the morning cleaning up the upstairs, mostly the boys' room. They "helped" me. I am in the middle of doing their laundry now. Later I am meeting a few friends from work for apps and drinks at Fridays. It should be fun.

Wendy- Welcome back! Good for you getting back on the wagon, lol. Sometimes I can follow a rotation and sometimes I can't. To help me get back at it with enthusiasm, I lay off the rotations and do what I feel like doing. Mixing my favorites together. . . that just might be what you need right now.

Belinda- My older DS is 9 and I swear you would think he was a teenager with his eye rolling. . . He is better today. I told him he could have his friend over, so he is excited about that and being "grateful" by behaving, lol.

Deb- I know you are probably enjoying your trip or getting ready to enjoy, but did you watch RHONY last night? I was so excited to see Bethenny back.

Waving hello to Cookie.

Kristin

Kristin-I think you are totally right. I just need to do what appeals to me and not worry about a rotation right now. Bonus: The box of Lucky Charms is finished and out of the house. (Yeah, when I fall off the wagon, I'm hard core about it, LOL.)

Wendy

Good evening,

Kirstin - every time I see you posting a workout about STS, I want to do another round :D Love STS! But know, my body needs a break. Have fun today and on Friday.

Wendy - welcome back! I agree with Kirstin! Do whatever loads your boat :p I do whatever I want to do. Having fun is the most importune thing.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in after me. Good night, ladies!

Hey everyone. My legs are soooo sore from M2 Legs yesterday. I had a feeling that would happen. Anyway. . . I did Yoga Relax, hopefully to stretch out those leg muscles and ease the DOMs. I had a lot of fun with my friends last night. I cannot tell you how many cosmos I drank, but all is well. I only woke up with a slight headache, lol.

Belinda- I'm loving doing STS again and I am so glad I redid the 1RM, because I am seeing nice results in my muscle definition. I just need to get the eating under control. I am hungrier when I lift heavier and I don't always go for the right foods.

Wendy- with all the Easter candy I ate. . . don't feel too guilty about those Lucky Charms. My favorite sugar cereal is Cocoa Crispies and Count Chocula. . . mm m m.

Okay, bb tomorrow.

Kristin

Hello!

Last night was KCM's Weights #2. WHOOO THREE IN A ROW I AM SHOCKING MYSELF!! LOL!!

Kristin-Mmmm Count Chocula! I remember that one!! Your night out sounds fun! Glad the headache was only slight. :)

Belinda-You are so right. Do what is appealing. For me right now that is 30 minute workouts. With lower weights as I build up my strength again.

:) Wendy

Hey girls,

I am done with 21 DF Pilates and I also did a walk:)

Kirstin - glad you seeing great results with STS :) Clean up your eating, girl:p I have more energy since I am not putting so much crap in my mouth:D

Wendy - I hear you on the 30 min workout :) Love them right now too!

Good night, ladies!!

Hi everyone -- Just finished Pure Strength Chest, Shoulders and Tris. I am pretty proud of my body for adapting to exercise again after a long time off post-surgery ..... I really expected it to be much worse than it is lol. I make a deal with myself: I don't have to get all the reps, I just have to keep moving somehow from the beginning through the cool down :)

Wendy - sounds like we are both climbing back on that wagon - GOOD ON YOU!

Kristen - Yes to Easter Candy ! I wish those Reese's Eggs had not come in a six-pack. But I hate to waste food :)

Good afternoon,

21 DF Cardio Fix is done! I still have to get my walk in today.

Christiane, nicely done yesterday. I have to pull PS out soon. Love this one.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in after me.

STS M2 D15 Back and Biceps done. I did 40# bb for barbell curls and my forearms are so tight, I feel like Popeye. Seriously, my forearms are beyond tight and have a swell in them like I have never seen before. I also did 20# DB for seated alternating curls. This is a high weight for me to begin M2 with, but it is what my 1RM said. I was able to do all the reps. . . just never had this happen to my forearms before.

So it has been a rainy week all week long, of course, because I am off this week. Tonight we are going to my friend's house. We are going to have pizza and drinks. I am looking forward to it. She is my friend from work and like me, she has two boys. Her older boy is really into baseball, just like my older boy. Her younger son is a bit of a firecracker, like my younger. Our husbands have never met, so I am hoping they hit it off. DS has baseball this weekend, but it is supposed to be sunny and warm, so hopefully I won't have to wear a hat and gloves like last night, lol.

Belinda- I think it will be easier to go back to better eating when I return to work on Monday. Too hard with the candy in the house. Plus STS always makes me hungrier. Nice job on your workout!

Christinae- Nice job on your workout. Doing every rep you can counts! What did you have surgery for?

Wendy- High 5's on three workouts in a row!

Waving hello to Deb and Cookie.

Kristin

Happy Finally Friday!
Belinda, glad you had a good time with your kids in DC. My dh and I talk a lot as we travel also. Have the cheery blossoms started appearing yet? Did I see you got in a run?!!! Wow!
Kristin, it's so discouraging w/that guy. Honestly, I still can't wrap my head around how all this is happening. 40#s!!! My forearms are screaming just thinking about it. How did it go w/the dhs meeting? My dh is reserved, so it always takes a while for him to feel comfortable in a group. In a couple of weeks, he's coming to a dinner w/me for work, and already I'm telling him he'll need to speak to folks. Geesh, it's like dealing with a kid sometimes. Glad your dh is alright. That must have been scary.
Deb, hope you're enjoying the vacation. Wondering if you had nightmares of being locked in a closet since the nasty incident w/the Sunglass Hut fool. I loved Quebec! Highly recommend a visit, but will qualify that the visit should be in the summer - when it's warmer.
Wendy, congrats on three in a row! That's terrific. Missed your sense of humor. I injured my shoulder and then got the flu, so feel like it's only been a couple of weeks that I'm back to really on the wagon.
Christinae, PS is a great workout. The only candies that really call my name are York Peppermint Patties and a extra-extra dark chocolate (like 85% or more). But I didn't want to waste an opened bag of the Patties, so I've been finishing them up. Honestly, I shouldn't have had one, since restraint is just not a character trait I have.
Had the dental implant and a temporary crown put in yesterday. I must have been tensing my left shoulder during it, b/c it is sore today. Also, had a hair appt to cover my greys. Very expensive day, since I also bought some new clothes.
Waiting for dh to come home. He's taking a half day, so we can get some mileage in today. Did an old Tracie Long Firm rebounder workout. It was a circuit one w/weights. Lately, I've gotten a lot of walking in but not weights, and feel like I'm getting fluffy w/o them.
Cookie

Good morning,

I will do 21 DF Dirty 30 after my coffee.

Cookie - hope you feel better soon (((HUGS)) Please take it easy after your surgery! Your workouts can wait until you heal. Have fun with your son.

Kirstin - I hear you on the candy. It's hard with kids around. Good job yesterday.

I will be back later.

Just finished Great Glutes - geez that's a tough one! All those leg lifts. I won't lie - I totally paused the video multiple times to make it through. (I'm getting over a hysterectomy, so my abs are not so strong right now).

Cookie - Hope you are feeling better after the dental surgery. Man, it's been forever since I've done one of Tracey's videos - I always really liked her.

Kristin - How was the dinner? I am always on the look out for a good double date couple for my dh and I. Our last one moved to DC and so far there's been no other couple where everyone really hit it off. It's a great thing when it works out!

Happy weekend everyone -- Christina

Hello all. I just finished my workout for today, better late than never :). I did Tabatacise, premix 2 (1,2 and core 2). I wanted to go to the 3rd tabata, but I did not feel I had it in me today. It was a fast, challenging, great little workout. I also played with Baxter outside and ran around. . . walked him too.

DS had a double header today. He plays on two teams, 9y and 10y. The 10y team was today. The 9y team is better. Anyway, they lost, but they did come back in the last inning scoring 5 runs. The score was 10-7. The other team got nervous.

Christinae- it is so hard to find "couple friends." I think the husbands got along well last night. The kids did too, which was great. We are planning on getting together again once summer starts. Our last couple friend that I really liked and felt close to stopped hanging out with us. Their son and my son were pretty good friends, but then they stopped getting along and so they decided to stop hanging out with us. It really upset me at the time, but now I'm over it, lol.

Belinda- good news is candy is almost gone. The bad news is I ate most of it.

Cookie- it's funny York Peppermint patties are the one candy I do not like, lol. I love anything with chocolate, except mint, lol.

Waving hello to Deb!

Kristin

Good morning,

I will do 21 DF Yoga Fix after my coffee.

Cookie - how are you feeling? Take it easy, girl :)

Kirstin - LOL, enjoy the rest of your candy:D

Christinae - how are your legs feeling today? WTG!

Debbie - have fun in FL :)

I will be back tonight.

Good morning,

Today DH and I are starting week 8 of 21 DF :) Still loving the workouts. We will do 21 DF TB cardio. We went to the cherry blossom yesterday. It was so crowed. Not to self, next time go during the week :) The blossom are gorgeous. Our uber got stuck in traffic, so we ended up walking to the kids house. I walked over 25K yesterday:D

Hi to everyone that checks in after me.

I will be back later.

Hi Ladies!

Last night was RWH Upper Body Circuit. Love this one! On Friday I did RWH Low Impact #1 so I finished the week with five workouts. That hasn't happened in MONTHS. Yay!

Did go to the Dallas Stars game on Saturday night and see Jamie Benn score a hat trick and win the Art Ross Trophy (most points) with 8.5 second left in the game. AMAZING! I love being a part of a moment like that. I also found out yesterday my book Waiting for Prince Harry (hockey romance) has been nominated for an award in the contemporary-sweet category of the RONE awards (held by In d'Tale magazine, a book review magazine.) Voting is next week and if I make the final six, then judges will decide who wins the category. Very excited about that!

So it was a good weekend, LOL. :)

Cookie-how are you feeling? I hope your dental work is feeling much better by this point!

Belinda-Glad you are loving 21 DF. Are you doing the containers too?

Christina-Great Glutes will BURN you! And yes, I'll stay on this wagon with you, LOL!!

Kristin-I will eat anything with chocolate in it. I don't discriminate. ;-) But I really love dark chocolate with sea salt.

Debbie-Enjoy Florida!

:) Wendy

Oldie but goodie today: Step Heat! I am SOOO choreography-challenged so I decided to pick a workout that's easy on my brain-feet coordination. Really love this one - and I feel so smart when I get the combos right ;) Dang those outfits though -- can't believe we really used to wear leotards over spandex shorts like that. Instant wedgie. I'm so glad no one was taking my picture back in the day....

Wendy - What a great week you've had. Congrats on being nominated for the award - that is wonderful! And 5 workouts too - you are on a roll!

Belinda - 25K steps is impressive! Glad you got to see the cherry blossoms - so beautiful, especially after our long winter :)
