Carole ~ I loved the sombrero pic! They did the same thing to my dh on his bday last month. The girls thought it was hilarious! Good job on not having chips in a month, I'm sure you enjoyed the bday indulgence!

Enjoy your run in the rain!

Carole - That is right....we are the same age :) My hope is that we all stay very healthy, vibrant and strong for another 48 years! I love your birthday pic, too! It is so cute! Enjoy your run and P90X! So...are you starting a P90X rotation, too?

Jess - I am glad your run ended up feeling so good! I really hope your injury is "all healed" now and that it will leave you alone! Enjoy hanging out with Allison! That is so cool that she likes to clean!

Quickie check-in for me, I have a bit of extra time because my first appointment cancelled. I did IMAX2 this morning and shortened all of the recoveries, I finished in like 45 minutes, so I had time for some yogaaahhhh.... So nice :) My 'coffee interview' went well, attractive fit man, easy conversation, just a little flirting (too much too soon is creepy for me). Started with a handshake ended with a nice hug and 2 big smiles. I figure if nothing else I'm meeting people and creating opportunity. Que sera, sera :)l

Shelley, I need to live vicariously through someone else's sordidness, give it up Girl, don't tease us;-)

Gotta get to work, enjoy your Wednesday all! :)

Take Care

Hey all - quick check back before work - I ended up killing my legs with the PP Lower Body x3 premix. Ouch. I WAS the chihauhau... Phew! I followed it by IMax 2 step only on a 6" step just to work the lactic acid out of my legs. Great workout... I'm aware of every muscle from my waist down... }(

OK Cheetahs whip me with a wet noodle.

My girl friend called to go for an out door run and we did. The ice wasn't very bad and we walked those few segments of icy sidewak gingerly. We did 6.6 miles and at 4.5 miles I should have just stopped. My hip pain flared uup and by 5.5 miles it went right down to my knee. I ened up walking the last mile.I am standingat thecomputer now with ice andI haveloadedup on motrin. Gee, I am one disappointed Cheetah.

Barb what was the name of that book on stretching? And any other recommendations for books on running and not getting injured?

I did B&G floor legs first and then ran. It was just so nice tobe running outside except for the pain part, dang-it-all.

Good morning ladies,
Okay, I got the bad mommy award yesterday. Well, my little Mariah wanted to go bike riding again, since she just learned how and I was so excited I let her go by herself for a little longer than I should have. She wiped out and her hit her face on the ground. Her chin was bleeding and her gums in her mouth. Oh ladies, it was not a pretty sight. She was devastated and her face is a mess right now. I was just so excited that I wanted to just let her go a little farther. She was then scared of the whole bike thing. So, we went out a little later and she rode a little bit without mommy and she got her confidence back. But, I just felt HORRIBLE for her. Anyway, I think we will give the bike a rest today and just let her face heal. She has 4 bandaids on her face:(

As far as working out today, I don't know what to do...hm. I was going to run for a bit and check the glute out, but I think I want to wait a few more days on that due to some tiny amount of glute pain. I think I really want to try an Imax. I have not done one since my injury. I am thinking Imax 2, even though I love Imax 3, but it has a little more impact in it. Or, I may do half and them jump on the ellipitcal. I sound like Wendy right now}( Anyway, I will let you guys know what I came up with.

I am off to eat breakfast and my green tea. I will be back later for personals.

Susan

Good morning cheetahs! I had a great time yesterday doing my speed ladder workout. It came to 6 miles. This is the first really hard core speed workout I've done since getting injured and recovering.
Still feeling good this morning with no new aches or pains :) No running today though.... I will play it smart (for a change;-) )

I didn't sleep too well last night and am posting a bit later than usual. My poor Birdy dog is in such pain after her surgery:( I have to help her to get up and support her rear legs with a towel around her like a big sling to move her around. Well, this is only the 2nd post op day so I'm hoping she'll do better soon.

My older sister visited last night and it was great to catch up. She has been undergoing extensive training for assignment in Peshawar, Pakistan(10 miles from the Afghan border... Osama Bin Ladin territory). I'm quite worried about her and her DH. My DH is an ex-Marine and cop and has actually kept a couple of bulletproof vests all these years. He gave them to her to use over there. It eases my worries a little that she'll have them!

Anyway, today will be the BM2 scrambled egg premix and a good hour sweating on the EXT:7 :7

I'll be back for personals!

ShellyC

Judy--I'm so sorry about the hip strain. The book I got is called "Instant Relief" by Peggy Brill. Did your PT person you saw suggest orthotics?

Another book on injury and running I thought was good was:

http://www.amazon.com/Runners-World...ef=sr_1_1/103-5648997-2580606?ie=UTF8&s=books

I hope it feels better as the day goes on!! My hip feels better when I run outside v. my particular TM. Last Sunday, the ground was only snow-covered, not icy at all.

Susan-sorry about Mariah's fall. That is so sad. That's great she was able to get her confidence back later. I hope you enjoy which ever Imax you pick.

Christine--great job on the PP legs x3. That's tough.

Barb
:)

Hi Shelly-for some reason, I didn't see your post...good job on your TM run y'day, but I'm sorry Birdy is having a tough time. I would be a nervous wreck if a relative was being dispatched to Pakistan. She will be in my prayers. Have fun with BM2 + EXT today!

:)

Hello again... back for personals!

Susan- Aw, poor little Mariah! (Love that name BTW) I think you're beating yourself up with guilt way too much here! She'll have healed and forgotten about it in a week. Kudos to her for having the courage to come back and try again so soon! Have fun with your 1/2 IMAX.... or whatever;-)

Carole- Our indomitable Carole out in the rain again! How is the glute/hamstring problem?

Jess- Love your new avatar! I was quite proud of myself when I finally figured that one out:) also. A 3.5 mile pain free run....
woooohoooo! I know that feeling of relief! Congratulations and have a great time with GS legs today.

Wendy- Hey, you don't need to decide about the June 23rd race now!
I probably won't register until that morning. I do hope Cathy would be able to come... that would be awesome! Good luck with Back and Biceps today.... although I think Chest and Back wins the award for the hardest in the series myself.

Christine- LOL about your comment, not being busy enough at the hospital :) You do crack me up! The PP and SS workouts by themselves aren't too difficult but watch out for those premixes!
AS you have learned. WAit til you try the PP/SS mish mosh }(

Marcia- I think getting in 1/2 of PlyoX after a run is quite an accomplishment. Especially since you haven't run in quite a while.
You deserve to hold your head high there cheetahgirl! Good luck to you on your WW weigh in today. I imagine you'll be pleased!

Shelley- Great job on your 4 miler yesterday! I hope you have plenty of cold weather running gear!

Cathy- Yuck!!!! I hate committeesx( Personally I find committees
and meetings much more tiring than my actual job. Hope you can get in a satisfying workout today.

Barb- Have a fantastic UB day:7 Go flex those bis!

Gayle- Wow, your kids sure did have a stretch off! It must be great to have the house to yourself now. What leg workout did you do?

Judy- Oh poor cheetah.... I really do feel for you! If you take a few weeks off and do mostly work on the EXT believe me your running ability will not suffer!!!! You may be interested in "Chi Running"
by Danny Dreyer. He combines the techniques of Tai Chi with running and claims to be able to keep runners totally injury free using his method.

Laura- You sound busy busy!!! Does your YMCA have an indoor track?
If the local one here had one I'd join in a heartbeat.

Kristi- Glad you suffered no injuries (except to your pride) after your tumble yesterday. Hope today is going better for ya!

Linda- Hey there..... do you EVER sleep in and blow off your run/workout???? You seem so incredibly dedicated and dependable to me.

I think that about catches me up
Oh.... HI Karen!

Time to get moving... later y'all

ShellyC

Oh, Susan!! No Bad mommy awards, ok?? I hate when they hurt their little faces, there's always so much blood!! Kiersten fell off & scraped up her knee/ elbow really good when she was first w/out training wheels. She wouldn't ride for a week or so, so at least Mariah is back to riding!! Bandaids always make things better along w/ some Mommy kisses! ;-) Give her a kiss for me too, ok? I know the girls can't wait for the weather to warm up so they can ride their bikes again. Enjoy your nice CA weather!

Good luck w/ your workout & I hope your glute pain stays AWAY!! No more injured Cheetahs!!!

I'm back! I changed my mind & ended up doing L & G. It just sounded good to me. :p I did the Leg Press Mania. I forgot what a good workout that is! }(

I'll do abs & pilates later. Allison was cracking me up *working out* with me. She made a little fort out of the step & then was sitting on the step w/ the risers & her little chair on top. I couldn't resist & took some pics, I'll post them later. It was so cute.

OK, off to start yet another load of laundry & get the munchkin out of the bath.

Hi cheetahs!

I’ll pop back in for personals on my lunch hour, but I just wanted to get in a HOWDY!!

I’ve been MIA from here a few days but my excuses are valid I’m sure..lol. Sordid love stories? Geez, I’m gonna have to go back and see what else I’ve missed. My 9 miles on Sunday went well, but I was battling the headache monster during the entire run so my effort was not as good as it should have been. Then DH has been off of work since Monday for some ouchie dental work (he’s better now thankfully) which also meant I couldn’t work out in my bedroom at 4:30 a.m. Today I’m like a bull in the holding chute ready to kick some butt if I don’t get my workout in tonight! LOL Ok, I gotta get back to it here (work is busy for me today) so I’ll be back with you fine fab cheetah’s at lunch!

Signed, “praying for snow tomorrow in CA”

Hey ShellyC!! Good job on the speed ladder workout. I loooove speed work, I wish I could do it more w/ my darn IT band. I hope I can get back to it, I was doing really well last summer before my marathon training. I managed a 7min mile pace for a mile of my 5K & most of a sub-8 min mile for my 12K. I miss that speed!!!

Sorry about Birdy. I'm sure she's getting lots of special attention!

Good luck to your sister. My brother is in Iraq (man, do I miss him!) but he is in the northern area which is *safer*. How long will she be there? He's on a 6 mo tour, and he'll be home in April. I can't WAIT to see him again.

Enjoy scrambled eggs & EXT!!

I'm back and I did IMAX2 with only a couple of slight twinges in my hamstring. It felt GREAT!!! I am so happy right now. I did ice the area just to make sure and I did a lot of stretching with my foam roller. Fingers crossed that I am not sore tomorrow.

Now, on friday If things are feeling good I will run a mile or 2. It felt som good to jump around. I am off to the shower and then to get Mariah. I will try to get back for personals:)

Susan

Hello ladies,

very brief check- in for me at the moment. i've been so busy at the gym i do not have the extra time i thought i was going to have:-( ..well i guess that's good and bad. so i've ditched p90x for right now (sorry wendy and marcia) and decided to go with BBC workouts (yay linda!).
today's workout was BBC's arms and abs. i think i have rotation ADD
:D :p .

shelly- yes i am a personal trainer for a gym.

have a great day to all the fabolous cheetah ladies!

ttyl...:)

Susan - Aww! Poor little thing! I hope she is feeling all better now! But, please don't blame yourself! Almost all little ones wipe out on their bike while learning! A Bad Mom you are NOT! You are a wonderful mom! Good job on the workout!

ShellyC- I wanted to sleep in sooo bad this morning. But with Madison (the new puppy), I have to get up with her at 4:00 anyway...so since I am up at this ungodly hour, I usually just go ahead and workout. Hopefully, when she gets older, it won't be as bad! :) I hope and pray your sister and her DH are okay and stay safe! Hope Birdy's leg gets better soon!

Thomasina - I can just picture you ready to explode if you don't get your workout in! It is so funny how we get used to working out and if we can't .. it is not good! }(

Jess - That sounds like a great workout! I can't wait to see the pictures of Allison! I'll bet that was so cute!

Hey Chicklets!:D

I am done with my work out and showered so I have a little bit of time for personals before I have to get Joey ready for his weekly visit to grandma's house. :+

Gayle: Hope you enjoyed your child-free solitude today!;) I love my son to pieces but chomp at the bit to have some time away.

Judy: Awwwwww, I'm sorry about your hip. Rest up and you'll be back in cheetah form in no time! I won't reprimand you for pushing when you know you shouldn't have because I would probably be guilty of doing the same. :)

Laura: Glad you enjoyed Taebo!

Christine: And B&B is DONE for the third time in a row! It's back to Phase 1 work outs soon! WOO HOO! I DO prefer them. :) SS or PP? Hmmmm....why not do BOTH!?!}( :7 :p ;)

Kristi: Nothin' wrong with a simple story although the ex BF that set me and DH up...well, him and I didn't just meet in a bar either! LOL I placed a singles ad on tv when they used to have a service called "The Dating Network" that would run the ads on a cable channel here! Your ad was attached to a voicemail box where someone who was interested could call up and leave you a msg. :7 :7 :7

Linda: Nice run!

Carole: I once dated a guy after my best friend dated him. I asked her first and she didn't care. She wasn't really into him anyway. We ended up dating for like a year. I was 15 at the time so that was a long time for me!:)

Hi Karen, Barb and Jess!

Laurie: Glad the "interview" went well. Let us know if you make plans to see him again!:)

Susan: Don't sweat it, girl! Kids get bumps and bruises and cuts all of the time! It's not your fault. ((((hugs)))))

Shelly: I hope your dog feels better soon. Cathy is going to look into making it for the race in June!:) I agree that Chest and Back is very tough but I LOVE IT anyway!}(

Sunny: LOL, no worries girl. Do what you gotta do!

BTW ladies, I have DOMS in my legs today! I knew it would come! I just knew it!}( :+ :7 }( :D :) LOL

Okay, well I gotta go...the little one is complaining!:-(
