::::: CHEETAHS ::::: Tues., 2/27

Shelly- after the DS bus stop run, I drove DD to school ( different school) and then did BM2. thanks for asking :)

Shelly- so you are trying Chi runnig again? It seems to be very logical. Did you use only the book? Or did you go to a class or buy the DVD?

It was a bit of a challeng on the TM yesterday, but I focused on keeping my cadence at 3 steps per second. I also focused on the lean and short strides and lifting my feet. The funny thing was that my HR soared and I ran super slow 5.0-5.8mph.

I'm taking this approach: If we always do what we always did we will always get what we had before. (In my case it resilted in a sore hip and inability to increase milage.)

If you fail to plan, then you plan to fail.

Shelly - Sorry you didn't sleep well last night! I hate it when that happens! I hope you are able to get a nap in! Have fun with the run and DM lower body! Hmmm..if it goes straight to iTunes, then I should be okay with it! Seems like I had a problem with my Cardio Coach's and iTunes. That sounds great! Thanks!

Linda

Good morning cheetahs!

I am feeling pretty good this morning:) I ended up doing Eoinn Finn yesterday for about 45 minutes while Mariah was watching Brady bunch. Today, I am doing all of PUB and maybe some yoga if there is time.

Mariah's chin looks so much better all ready, thanks to the heavy duty antibiotic. I am going to take her to lunch today and to Target. I have not been to Target in awhile and it is a very DANGEROUS place for me and my credit card}(

No time for personals right now, gotta take my girlies to school and then have a pt appointment. I will be back later:)

Susan

Good morning Cheetahs! I’m still a little sore from my run on Sunday. Today will probably be PUB & LB Premix. Hopefully tomorrow I will be ready for a run.

On to personals:

Cathy- Unfortunately I’m not doing enough for UB. I try to fit in a total body workout twice a week. However, the last couple of weeks I’ve only been able to get in one a week and I can tell my slacking is catching up with me. I might have to try to get up earlier in the mornings to squeeze in a short (30 minute) weight training workout every day, alternating between UB & LB. Unfortunately during my lunch time I can only workout for 50 minutes before I have to quickly shower and head back to work. Enjoy P90X and Fluidity! Hopefully Fluidity will be sitting at your door tomorrow when you get home from school.

Mattea – I don’t dread the treadmill, but I think that is because I watch a movie while I am running. It helps the time go by so much faster. Personally I love to run outside better too, but I don’t think my legs agree with that statement. They don’t respond well to the pounding of the pavement.

SunnyD – It amazes me how you can train a client at 5:30 a.m. I don’t get out of bed until 5:50. I wish I could get myself out of bed around 5 so I could fit in more exercise than I do now. You are one busy PT.

Susan - How is Mariah’s infection today?

Marcia – Good luck with KenpoX today. Sorry to hear about all the snow you have been having lately. Spring should be right around the corner.

Wendy – Enjoy your run and Core Synergistics!

Judy – Sorry to hear about your hip inflammation. How do you like Chi Running? I’ve heard it mentioned before, but I’m not sure what it is.

Gayle – Snow tubing sounds like so much fun. I’m glad you liked your iTread workout! I only own Cardio Coaches, but I might need to try these out.

Carole – Thanks for the workout suggestions. I’m glad the pain is better in your glutes.

Linda – I’m glad you are not in pain today. Wow you did 5.25 miles and B&G LegBlast Premix. You are one tough cheetah! I’ve been procrastinating in signing up for the Hatfield & McCoy HM. After this past weekends run, I think I might wait to sign up until after my HM in April. I hope you don’t mind. I don’t want you to think I forgot or that I am bailing on you. After the Derby HM then I can see what kind of shape I’m in for the other HM. For some reason my legs love the treadmill A LOT more than the pavement. I’m hoping that will change as I take a run or two a week outside and adjust to the hard pounding of the concrete sidewalks and pavement.

Jess – Have fun with your swim and run today. Music & Lyrics is on my list to see when it comes out on DVD. Unfortunately, it has been probably 3 years since I have gone to the movies. How sad is that! Glad you liked the movie!

Hello to Christine, Laura, Barbara, and all the cheetahs I may be missing!

Kristi - I understand completely! We can play it by ear and see how it goes and how we feel. I haven't signed up yet, either. I ran outside on Saturday for the first time since December...and I was soooo sore! I am a little about whether or not I will be ready to run a 1/2 :+

Linda

Linda, Thanks for being so understanding. :) It was my first time outside as well since, I think, October. I figure we still have plenty of time too. It is amazing what a difference it makes when switching from treadmill to outside. Are you experiencing warmer temperatures in your area? It is hard to believe, but it is going to be in the 50's today. We are having a heat wave. LOL I think on Friday it is supposed to be 60. Very unusual weather pattern. I'm just wondering if winter will hit us hard once more before spring is officially here to stay.

Hello to all the cheetahs,

I am posting quickly. It's become so hard to keep up with all the posts, that's a good thing;)

today's workout is 30 mins elliptical (done) and an UB workout. still debating on which one, lol.

wendy- (from yesterday's post) the trainers set their own hours. you also decide if you do or don't want to work with certain clients. since i am a morning person it's easier for me to get up early and get to the gym before everyone wakes up. i try to get most of my clients done during the week so i don't have to come in on the weekend if i don't want to or just can't.

I have 13 clients today. seems as though tuesday's are my heaviest days. alright, that's all i have time for now. gotta go workout:D

ttyl...:)

Good Afternoon Cheetahs!

I can't believe it's afternoon already :) I just wanted to thank everyone for the warm welcome back and the "sympathy for the (treadmill) devil", lol!

Linda and Kristi thank you for the TV advice!! I moved a TV to the TM room today and my hour went by SO much faster. Having something to look at made a huge difference. I was still kind of lagging around the 15 min. left mark, but better than the 40 min. left mark:7

So I'm a little bit rushed today b/c I have to go buy a TV (among other things) to put permanently in the TM room.

Cathy-Glad you're liking the "X". If you haven't tried the TV and the TM it made a big difference for me. I found PlyoX to be a very solid workout. The drills go very quickly and Tony offers some good modifications (in both directions). Enjoy!

Wendy-Sorry you had to drag into work yesterday. How would you classify CoreSyn? It is such a good workout, but a weird one to try to fit in the schedule.

Marcia-okay, enjoy Kenpo today, lol! I have to second Judy's advice on the whole foods, fruits and veggies. Think of it as nature's fast food :)

Judy- Have a great day busy lady! I'd love to know more about Chi running. I'll try anything to keep the TM fresh, lol.

Gayle-How cool! Thanks for the free iTread info, something else to help with the TM, lol. Love, the Vein Maker, just run an advanced search for it and it should pop right up.

Carole-Glad you're feeling better. Isn't BMax2 such a killer/fun/killer workout? Those power circuits are like the first 4 intervals of Imax 4 or something. I'm going to take your advice with the iTrain thanks to Gayle.

Sunny-So what kinds of clients do you specialize in? I mean, do you work through a gym or tailor more to a specific demographic?

Shelly-You won't be sorry with the Vein Maker! Thanks for the TV advice, the music and changes in pace/elevation aren't enough for me either. Just reading about your trail runs really makes me miss the outdoors though!

Christine-I agree with you on the Intensity series, it's like the perfect mix of fun and, well, intensity:p I have to admit I don't know what the SJ RNR stands for, so... :)

Susan-Sorry yesterday was so rotten! I hope Mariah is feeling better ( I know I would after cookies:+ ) I'm envious of your TM talent, you're like DH, he's a "zoner" from way back.

Hi Jess!!! I love the new avatar:)

Today was a 5 mile steady state on the TM and B&G weighted abs.
Have a great day!
Mattea

Shelly...nope, no iPod! I never run with anything in my ears, I would rather be more aware of things around me. This could be a 'Growing up in LA" thing...:)..Sorry about your insomnia...hope you get in a nap before your killer workout!!

Kristi...I forgot about the Pyramids...good choice...:)

Linda...good luck with the iTrain downloading. I thought it might work just like Shelly said...:)

So I ended up doing BM2 Scrambled Egg premix!....WOW!!! And the fun part was while I was working out, it was snowing very lightly off and on! It has warmed up since...:)

Hi Mattea...we were posting at the same time again!! I think you will really like the iTrain workouts...:)

Hey Ladies.

I did my 20 min Itread w/o after work today. It's set 1 and it's hills and sprints. Good burner for a shortie!}( I'm getting ready to do Core Syn now. :)

Gayle...Thanks for the heads up on the ITrain code! I just went and purchased 2 more Itreads and one of them was free because of the code! YEAY!:) I now have SIX Itreads, 2 Iclimbs and 1 Icycle. I definately use the Itreads the most though. :)

I'll be back after Core Syn...:)

Hey, Wendy. Set 1 is what I bought last night and did this morning! Then I used the free code to buy set 8.

Mattea-I found The Vein Maker and it looks good. How is it? Do you like it???? What kind of weight do you use? Inquiring minds wanna know! lol

Linda-burning it to a CD is actually a pretty good idea. Just to have it in case the mp3 player takes a dive, then I can just pop it into a CD player. HMMMMMMMMM. Be sure to let me know which one you buy!

Sorry I can't 'personalize' for everyone. DS has a friend over and my other DS is getting off the bus in about 30 minutes. And now they want a movie on! Gotta go!

Gayle

Hi Cheetahs. I just have a few minutes of computer time to let everyone know I'm still alive. My dad who had a brain anyersum(sp)in 2002 fell and broke his ribs. His equalibrium has been off since his brain surgery but pretty much he is ok. However we had major ice and snow and he went out and fell and broke his ribs on a shovel. My mom was frantic as you can imagine and such is that all of us have chipped in to help.It is very hard for him to realize that he can no longer do the things he once had done. My mom was very mad because she said time and time again to wait until we got there but he didn't listen. His patience is off the charts since the surgery. It iced at 11 am and he went out at 3 when we were going to shovel at 5. I'm telling you no patienece. It's not with ice it's with everything. It is a side effect from the surgery along with short term memory loss. I am still running but haven't had my computer time. Just letting you know all is well but I'm just taking care of others for the next two weeks. I'll try and check in this weekend.

Kristi - Yes, it is really warm here! It is around 50 today, as well. It is supposed to get warmer as the week goes on...but then snow and be cold this weekend! x( But...at least we are having "some" warm weather! :)

Mattea - Yay! I am glad the TV helped! I would be lost on the TM without it and my music! It is funny....cause I don't really know why I have to have both on at the same time! But....I do....and it helps :7 Good job on the run!!

Gayle - I will be sure to let you know which one I get! I can't wait to get home so I can try to download it!

Carole - I love BM2 Scrambled Eggs! Cathe is a genius with her premixes !

Sunny - Good job on the workout and have fun training!

Hey all -

Quick check in to say I did NOTHING today and I'm darned proud of it! Actually, it was a rest for me. I did do a bit of mall walking with a friend over lunch - and exercised my credit card pretty well (love the Gap outlet!) but no real workout. Just nuts at work, so sorry I've been quiet today.

Karen - I'm sorry to hear about your dad. He is in my prayers for a quick recovery from his broken ribs. You are a very sweet daughter.

Hey Gals.

I'm back for personals. Joey and DH are watching a movie together so I am allowing myself some "downtime" before washing the dinner dishes. It's funny...sometimes I just want to get it done right away and other times I will put it off as long as humanly possible! LOL :p

Judy: I am pretty sure the X has increased my appetite! During the recovery week of phase 1 I was not doing cardio like I am this time and I noticed a definate DECREASE in my appetite. I firmly believe one's exercise program plays a big part in how hungry they are. That's good though. If your appetite increases during harder work outs there is a reason for it and you need to LISTEN!:)

Gayle: I am going to Atlantic City for the weekend with my best friend. We will eat, drink, dance and gamble!}( :D }( We are also going to see Howie Mandell. He is performing at one of the casinos there. Can't wait. We saw him many moons ago and loved him!:)

Carole: I have never done scrambled eggs yet. Do you think it would be a good choice for one of my tuesday leg circuits in Phase 3 of the X? }( Your property is phenominal! I would LOVE to live on a piece of land like that! WOW!

Linda: So are you joining the ranks as a fan of the Leg Blast Premix!? }( I am going for a personal training cert. I thought about group fitness but I wanted something I could turn into a full time career if I want. I can also cert for group fitness as well down the road and do both part time if I want. I'll have to see. I AM interested in that as well but I'm not so sure it's for me. Nice run today!:) The 2 Itreads I downloaded today are steady state/endurance runs. I can't wait to try them.

Jess: I too have laundry to catch up on! I will get the yoga dvd off to you as soon as I can. I am hoping to make it to the post office this week anyway. :)

Shelly: Sorry you didn't sleep well last night. I know what that is like. I woke up alot last night myself. I could feel the difference when I woke up this morning. :-( I am going to Atlantic City w/my best friend and we are going to see Howie Mandell. We will eat, drink, dance, gamble and laugh! Your planned work out for today reminds me of when I ran 4-5 miles on the TM and then went home and did the DM total body premix. OMG-it about friggin killed me! LOL

Susan: So what kind of yoga is Eionn Finn's? Athletic or that other stuff? LOL ;) Glad Mariah's chin is healing up nicely.

Sunny: So which UB work out did you decide to do today? Thanks for answering my nosey questions about your job!:p

Mattea: I have no idea where I would put Core Syn if I had to use it in my own rotation! I plan to continue with the idea of recovery weeks. I like it alot so I will probably just continue to utilize it for them.

Karen: Sorry about your dad. I'm sending prayers and healing vibes his way! (((Hugs))))

Christine: It's okay if you are quiet once in a while. We understand that it's not because you don't love us anymore! If you ever stop loving us we will riot but for now, we know that's not the case!:p :7 ;) Glad you are enjoying your rest day.

Kristi: Hope you enjoyed your pyramids premix today. I will keep my fingers crossed for you that you are able to run tomorrow!

Well, that about does it I think. Must go do some dishes now before it's time to put DS to bed. He's still in there watching a movie with DH I think...I can't believe it!!! It's one of the Star Wars ones...DH must be ecastatic as he knows he'll never get me to watch it with him! LOL :p

I hope to be back again later!:)

Hi everybody! One more post for me tonight and then I'm done with the PC!

Wendy-I hope DH enjoys having his fellow SW fans there with him. Take a picture. I bet it's cute!

I just got up from the basement. The kids were occupied so I took advantage and plugged in LIC. I did the upper body sculpt premix and then added on a few extra exercises of my own!

Looking forward to another early morning run tomorrow, and if time allows, I'm going to add on some lower body stuff. Thinking maybe B&G or L&G something or other. We'll see how early I get up, first! lol

Good night, ladies!

Gayle
