CATHLETES ROCK DISNEY-FINAL COUNTDOWN!

Finally packed!! (well, for me, anyway. I can pack for the rest of the family in about 5 minutes tomorrow! I was the hard one. It's allllllll about me!)

6 air jacks, 6 tuck jumps and 5 froggy sit-ups!!!

I haven't heard anything about meeting on Thursday night. I know that the resort has beautiful grounds with a walking trail and a lake with kayaks (and maybe other boats) available for rent. And of course, a gorgeous pool and hot tub.

Anyone been there before?

Packing has started...kids still don't know, I think I should leave them home (kidding). They have been so bad lately...so if that continues in Disney, I want to apologize now and forewarn you all!!

4 days...I can't believe it!!

Jenn - 4 of what today???

Jenn D,
I love that your kids still don't know! We "kidnapped" our kids 5-6 yrs ago for a trip to Disney. We never told them; made them figure it out on their own. Our flight was at 06:30 so we left for the airport at 3am. The car was packed the night before as they slept. We set all the clocks in the house and the car (!!!) forward, woke the kids and rushed them off "to school". They were so groggy that they didn't notice that: 1) it was still dark outside, 2) both parents were in the car although neither of us drives them to school-they ride the bus, 3) we went the wrong way to school and 4) it took over an hour to drive when the school is about a 15 minute drive. (We had
recently had back-to-back ice storms so we used that as an excuse for several questions....)

My oldest son (about 10 years old at the time) perked up when we got to the remote lot at the airport and demanded to know what we were doing at the airport. We told them we had to "drop something off" on the way to school. We then had them jump out of the car and leave their backpacks. We pulled suitcases out of the trunk and the kids FREAKED!!! It was so fun! We still didn't tell them where we were going. We made them figure it out on their own. They didn't put it together holding the tickets, checking our bags, or even sitting at the gate under the "Orlando" sign. They finally figured it out when the family sitting behind us kept squealing about Disney World!!!

The touchy bit was when we got to the remote lot and I took my youngest in (about 6 yrs old) to use the restroom. It was about 4:30 am. The only person in the depot was a security guard. My son LOUDLY announces "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU KIDNAPPED US!!! I nearly had a stroke right there. Fortunately (or not) the security guard glanced at me and went right back to filling his cofee. (yikes!)

It was classic. We all had so much fun with that. The kids still talk about "the time Mom and Dad kidnapped us" frequently--I don't think they will ever forget it!

Laura... anytime you want to kidnap me for a vacation feel free! :p you can use any excuses you want!!

I just submitted my audition form... singing... "I'm walkin' on sunshine... woh-oh... and don't it feel good?" lol!

OMg, Laura, your story was hysterical!!! I still trying to figure out how we are going to do this. We usually visit family for the 4th, so I have that imbedded in their brains right now. But I think I might just tell them while we ride to the airport. July 1st is my daughter's birthday, so I got her a book on Disney..so I might have her open it up on the way.

Cycle Max form is filled....the 4 days is going to fly!!!

Haven't done the push-ups yet, Jenn, but they are coming....of course, you had to say in a 4/4 count, didn't ya????

KiKi - I purchased meal tickets for my family (DH and DD) for only Friday night dinner and July 4th dinner and dessert party. After I got over my sticker shock this is all I could budget.

I will be missing the Saturday night dinner and Sunday breakfast just so that I can be with them and they won't be dinning alone.

It is to bad that the meal prices were just too high; but then again Disney does not do anything cheap.

Lol! This is exactly where we are right now :p . Sticker shock over the weekend, & now coming to the same conclusion of maybe just Fri/Mon meal tickets, & me eating with DH & DS Sat (I still want it to be our "family" vacation, ya know ;) ). Just didn't wanna feel like I was the only one, lol.. Or maybe wanting reassurance that we weren't just being "cheap" :D . But with my son being over the 9yo age "discount" limit, my DH won't even CONSIDER paying that much for him to eat! He wouldn't even respond for like an hour, lol, after I told him the $$!

I can't even fathom what we'd do if we had more than 1 kid!

Sticker shock here too!!! The dessert party is definite but maybe no meals. I know how my kids eat & it would be such a waste. I feel a little guilty but DH has eased it. See y'all soon!!!!

My saving grace is my DD is only 8, so at least I get that discount.

Autumn: Are you there, already?! Girl, I definitely wouldn't feel bad about NOT forking out that much $$ for your little ones! That's crazy talk, especially when it looks like our resort has some perfectly acceptable (and cheaper!) places to eat on site (not to mention of course the bazillion other places to eat there, lol.) I'm sure you'll know the scoop on all the places by the time we get there!

Danielle: I WISH we could get that discount for DS, cause those $70 meals are so NOT what's up! It'll be by the grace of God if he's sees ANY meals at that $$. It's hard enough trying to justify the $100pp for the dinner/dessert party on the 4th, but at least it comes w/fireworks, lol :p

OK, ETA...another question: If someone's family only pay's for the "dessert" part of the dinner/dessert party, then when exactly do they come? I mean, dinner and dessert are both @ Epcot, right? And there's supposed to be a Disney bus/escort taking us to the designated area, so are there two buses? One for the dessert crowd, and one for the dinner crowd? They're like 2 hours apart, and my DH just took another look at the menu for Mon, and doesn't want to pay that much for that particular meal, lol. (His reasoning: "Why would I pay $140 to eat what we eat everyday at home?" :p ) But he really likes the looks of the dessert party (from what we saw when researching it online) - yum. I don't know if that makes any sense, I'm confusing myself, lol...

Road Trip Meals

We certainly wish the meal prices were cheaper too, but we're honestly not making one penny on what we're charging. The problem with all resorts is they're used to charging inflated fees because of the wedding and convention industries. Also, every resort we've ever been to in the past charges an extra 28 -33% gratuity and tax on every meal we eat. Disney, will be doing things first class and there will be no waiting in lines, so hopefully the price will be worth it. But we certainly understand the sticker shock - you should see the check we just sent them

Finally got my Cycle form in! 4 MORE 4/4 pushups with party arms (!!???!!!)!!! (I haven't figured out how to do that cute little face-thingy yet)

Now ordering meal tickets for the family---dessert/fireworks party only. My DH and boys will just eat dinner in the park while I have a girly princess tea party with all my newest imaginary friends.
