Wow! Multiple movements all the way, Terrific! This is really functional strength, Thanks Cathe!
One can't really lift very heavy, but with whatever weight, one can get good results; it is the movement, rather than the amount of weight!
Does it look like we will get it all before X-mas?!

Functional fitness is the best! Remember when you were in school learning something that seemed useless and someone would ask what we would be using for? The same doesn't apply to functional fitness. I know exactly why we do it, besides the fact it's fun. For example I just changed out the wheels on my car. I don't have a lift but I borrow my parents' garage space and tools. I'm on the floor loosening lug bolts and jacking up the car. Then removing the wheels, and yes the tires are on those so they weigh a bit, then putting on the new ones, cranking a torque wrench to finish off. You get the picture--I know keeping healthy with Cathe leading me allows me do to things like this myself. Keep that functional movement coming Cathe!

I love it when you highlight the benefits of keeping fit and healthy with Cathe. Today I faced a fact relating to keeping fit. living in a worldwide patriarchal society, I had to rely on myself yesterday. At this point, I live on the third floor where there is no lift. I wanted more plate weighting 10kg each. My neighbor signed for the parcel . He told me the post man was reluctant to lift 20kg of weight. He refused to lift it but dragged in the parcel instead.

I was out and when I got home I went to pick up my parcel. My neighbor pulled a worrying face and told me : " have got your parcel but I do not know how you gonna lift 20 kg to your place cause it is "very heavy"
I replied I am used to lifting. Then came the usual question "do you lift at a gym facility etc....":rolleyes::rolleyes:Yeah I had to just brace my core and lift those new toys up to my place"

I went from bending and reaching and climbing (I'm short with tall cabinets, so all the Thanksgiving platters required a 3 step step stool) to leg wrestling my great niece on Thursday. lol Friday night, I checked my e-mails and found that the couch I'd ordered arrived a week early, and the Amazon delivery guy had once again decided the boxes were too heavy and had dumped the 2 bulky/heavy boxes in front of my garage door. It was snowing (we have over a foot now), and I HAD to bring the boxes into the garage in order to protect the couch AND get my car out. Today, I assembled the couch that the instructions (and reviewers) claimed takes at least 2 people... by myself, and that was after unloading the boxes and bringing all of the parts into the house (boxes too big to fit through that particular door, AND shoveling over a foot of snow out of the driveway. Cathe keeps me going, thank goodness. :)

I love reading everyone's accountings of how taking care of our physical health empowers us and blesses us with self-confidence and the ability to be self-reliant.

I've had several occasions over the last few months where I was also able to be of service to others because I've been taking care of my health, most especially with resistance training.

I cannot tell you how many heavy items I've hefted around for friends, family, and colleagues. Carrying a heavy printer up stairs, lugging a 42-pound 40-pack of water bottles across Costco, muscling some uncooperative casters into the bottom of a de-humidifier that required assembly, helping a group of people shovel 18 tons of soil into a bunch of raised garden beds (it took us almost 5 hours)... so many opportunities to put all my training to good use!

Keep in mind my daughters and little sisters, LMR2 is really elevated, as clearly shown in the published previews! It will be tougher, and you may to choose lifting heavier, but it will make you more functional than ever!. So, be prepared! And thanks Cathe for the elevation, Well needed and appreciated!

I love reading everyone's responses! Many of us have to be self reliant (I've lived alone for about 30 years) but we also like to be of service to others. Whether it is a neighbor, a coworker, a friend, a stranger, or a family member that we help, they may not realize Cathe's role in keeping us fit. And yes, I've helped all of the people listed as I'm sure many of you have. I wonder if Cathe realizes the impact she has made beyond Catheletes.
