Busy mommies and their growing babes 5/16-5/22

Jen, yippee on the pool!! You guys did that so fast -- you're going to enjoy that investment every day :)

Lisa, it's funny, but I sometimes find myself bored even though I'm so busy with the kids! I think it's the monotony that gets boring...? We pay CS plus pay for most of their necessities because their mom won't. "Ask your father. I don't have any money. We are broke. We are poor. Etc, etc, etc." They eat out 3 or 4 nights a week. She gets her nails done every Thursday. She won't pay for internet access for the house, but she has web access through her cell phone. The list goes on. It seems like she sees the child support as *her* money, not money to help pay for the kids' expenses. I do okay with this for months, and then my resentment goes from a simmer to an angry boil. I've been boiling for a few days; fortunately, it's subsiding for now ;) It is what it is, and after all this time, I know it won't change. Just disgusts me. This work stuff is hard, isn't it? Given how much time is spent on the job, it would be a blessing to truly love what you do. Nightline did a story on youtube.com last week; the guy who came up with the idea looked to be maybe 40 -- sold youtube to Google for 1.65 billion. THAT's what I need -- one heck of a great idea!!!!

Christine, you packed your step and your weights? Please tell me you at least threw in some photo albums of Jimmy LOL Have a great time with your girlfriend today; I love that through your best childhood friend, Jimmy has now found an awesome play buddy. :)

So in my self-pity yesterday, I forgot to mention some GOOD stuff!! Yesterday little Drew celebrated his 8 month birthday! And on Friday, he finally crawled forward :D He's been crawling ever since, making a beeline for whatever interests him (you know, power cords, outlets, dumbbells). On Saturday, he was finally able to get into the seated position all by himself! It's so exciting to watch them learn what they can do :)
 
And a plus on the relationship side:

DH must have heard the frustration in my voice. I came home to a lovely bouquet of flowers last night :) We watched a couple episodes of Justified too (love that show -- Timothy Olyphant is so cute!).
 
Allison- Timothy Olyphant is hot!!! Not just cute...For me, its something about his eyes and the bad boy persona....YUM! I am so glad that someone else knows who he is! Yay for Drew! I still LOL when I think of Drew crawling backward. I know James will crawl soon and I went into a small panic this AM thinking about the babyproofing I need to start doing. :eek: That would make me mad about the child support stuff too. I see moms at my job everyday with dirty kids and clothes that dont fit but they have their nails/hair done, drive nice cars and have cell phones. UGH! Some people just don't get it!

Christine- Apples will keep you fuller longer! And you can run anywhere. :D
 
Jen, do you watch Justified then too? We liked HBO's Deadwood too -- he was sexy in that one too. Of course, I still remember him from way back when, when he was in the movie "Go!" It kills DH to know how much he gives his ex, have an idea how much she makes, yet see his kids in dirty clothes and shoes that are falling off their feet. She knows that DH will buy them what they need if she doesn't. And so, most of the time, she simply doesn't. More fun money for her, I guess. DH gets frustrated, because he's always paying for what they need in addition to the child support, so there's not much money to do fun things for/with them. I honestly had no idea this bull**** would continue for this many years.

We didn't have to baby proof too much with DD, but with Drew -- I know we're going to have to do EVERYTHING. I put him in his crib yesterday while I was in the bathroom to wash my face, brush teeth, and put in my contacts. I noticed he was suddenly very quiet so I walked in -- he had pulled up, lunged over the crib, and grabbed the blinds, which he was trying to pull off the window. Sigh. (DH lowered the crib last night!) He's already broken his mobile (literally cracked the plastic when he ripped a guy off) and ripped off one of the dangling toys SEWN to his swing.

10 apples? LOL! Christine, that's a random assortment of goodies :) You crack me up!!

Kendra, how was kindergarten graduation last night?

It's cold and rainy here today. Our weather has been so wacky.

Allison- Drew is such a brute!! LMAO! I laughed so hard! I'm glad he didn't get hurt though. It probably continues for so many years because she has gotten away with it for so long. But what do you say? You just want to keep the peace for the kids sake. She sounds like a piece of work. (And these are my nice comments for internet sake) :p

I can't focus at work...WTH am I talkin about? I havent been able to focus for two days now. Don't know why....maybe all the pool excitement. I will try to take pics and post on FB.

Biggest Loser tonight! Like Susan, I hope Daris wins. Someone mentioned Losing it With Jillian -- I'm excited to see that one too. Summer programming is usually so awful; hopefully it will be good. We noticed she's been giving lots of "soul searching" advice to contestants this season; guess she's building up the idea that she's qualified as a therapist :p

Incidentally, Ella is way excited that Wipe Out! is back on ABC's summer schedule LOL

And I do watch Justified but I have fallen behind. I don't remember "Go" What was it about? I can't even remember how long I have loved him. DH didn't even know who he was until the last Diehard. I love that he plays such an excellent villain. And he's in shape too. He was in Men's Health awhile back ago. Double YUM!
 
DH sent a pic of the pool to my cell. It looks so beautiful! And he even blew up James's float already! I don't have a way to post from cell to computer at work so I will try to take one tonight before it gets dark.

Oh and tonight is pizza night after Insanity. Maybe I will pop open a beer too....

Yay for BL! I like Darius too....But now can't get the image of pubic hair out of my mind thanks to Christine!
 
Jen- Cannot wait to see pics. What do you like on your p;izza? Since we are practically related in all our mannerisms, I am curious!
Allison- I cannot imagine how hard it must be to watch your DH be taken advantage of by the ex. Grrr. And it is hard to know where you can and cannot intervene. I feel for you girl! At least we all have BL tonight! I am so excited. How has nobody told Daris about his brillo pubic hair head? A nice buzz would help! I cringe, really I do. If I was sitting behind him on an airplane or in an audience, I would need a muscle relaxer or a straight jacket to not try to touch it and see if it feels like wire. I obsess about that stuff. LIke when you are behind someone at a meeting and the back of their jacket has stray hairs and you want to pull them off? Then you cannot resist the urge anymore, and you do, and they look at you like you are insane? So I kind of want to pull on one of thoser ridiculous pieces of Daris hair and stretch it out to see how long it is.

We were to see our friends across the bay and it was great. It is a lot of driving with the kiddos, and a loud ride, someone is usually cryign, but so worth it. Jimmy is still asleep. They played so hard. I taught my friend to cook enchiladas and she si so excited. Turkey meatballs on tap for next week. I did Cathes 40/20 Hiit. Insanity has ruined things for me. IT was over and i was like that is all? I love Shaun T.
John is losing it. Need to figure out dinner. Missed you girls today!

CHristine- Pics are on FB! James loves the pool! Our "go to" pizza is just ham and cheese but I like it all! I love a good steak n chz pizza! Off to bathe the little one! BBL!
 
Hi ladies. I've been around, but mostly lurking.

Tomorrow reality hits as all our help leaves. *sigh* I wonder if they realize how fortunate they were that we shared our five children with them and let them clean & cook? lol

I work Wed, but will have Thursday off. I've had a tad of the blahs again & low energy from my consistant insomnia. Working thru it...but it's slow work! I do have some stress issues that are harvesting as I'm figuring out our finances & health issues of my family. It's tough to weigh debt vs time with my kids. Then there's Myranda's hemoglobin & my Dad's failing life. Urgh. Life is life.

I tried to run today, but only did two miles. My milk supply has decreased and I don't want to push my body anymore. I'm listening & resting as needed (which seems to be alot lately).

Alrighty, you ladies are doing awesome! Keep up the good work!!
 
Hi, Melanie :) I'm sure your friends feel very fortunate to have been allowed to cook, clean, and care for your kids!! Sorry for you that they are leaving, but I'm sure you had a nice visit (despite all the work you made them do LOL). Will you be able to visit your dad soon? I know you had mentioned Father's Day before, but didn't know if you were trying to move the trip up. When do you visit the specialist for Myranda? Are you still trying "Maggie" as a name for her, or is she definitely Myranda? The decisions facing you (debt vs. time) are so tough; they are the same ones weighing on my mind. Hugs to you.

So, who watched BL last night? I know editing plays a big role in how we view the contestants, but dang, Michael just seems like the biggest whiner to me. It's interesting the 2 that are definitely in the finale. I only started watching BL the season with Tara and Helen, so I'm curious -- if one of them wins, would this be the first time a winner is still a god way from goal?

DH is working late tonight, so it will be a long solo day adn night! Bah! I made him do INsanity Max Plyo this morning. He has declared me crazy.

SO, Daris is a closet eater, hmmm? He will gain it back, I think. Miss piggy (pink) is creeping up. Mike looks great, I thought.
 
I think Michael looks great, too; he just whines a lot LOL I couldn't believe Daris gained 2 lbs. Dope. Hopefully, he can get that worked out in his head -- couldn't imagine losing that much weight only to regain it.

I have to see Ashley with her "before" picture to realize how much weight she's lost. She does have a lot of enthusiasm, and I really never thought she'd make it this far.

DH leaves tomorrow for a golf trip weekend, so it'll be me and the kiddos for 3 nights. Drew, of course, woke up with a runny nose and a cough, which means he'll sleep poorly while DH is gone. Typical, right? Bah!!

Off to workout (though I just really want to take a nap). Then to Costco (if we have time) and then to Ella's soccer (which she and I are both sick of, but we're trying to teach her about following through on our commitments -- it's torture LOL).
 
Well, I think I am officially out of commission. :( I have hurt my back and can hardly move today. It was tender yesterday so I did Pure Cardio and modified some moves and felt great. (Smart right? :confused:) I stretched real well and actually felt okay when I woke up so I just iced it. The whole right side and even the front of my hip hurts. I took Tylenol and it has taken the edge off but MAN! I am so pissed! I have only two more Meso 2 wo/s this week to finish Meso 2 and I don't know if I will be able to do them. Ok enough whining....

Christine- The pool only takes less than 2 hours to set up. It took longer to fill with water. The water was actually refreshing after doing Insanity. I just jumped in with my w/o clothes on.

Melanie- I will join your "blah" bandwagon. That is how I feel with the back injury. My mood is crabby. The house will feel empty now huh?

Allison- That would figure that Drew would get sick while DH is gone!

Allison- I remember that movie but didnt even realize he was in it! I think I actually have it! Will have to try and watch again. No, no Justified but I have it DVR'd.
 
So I broke down and took a pain pill for my back and it feels better. Except now I am so sleepy at work....zzzz. I guess I will just abandon my rotation unless I feel better in the next few days. I think I will skip Meso 3 for now and start the Insanity rotation. I am itching to see how it will change my body. I might throw in some days of lifting, maybe from Meso 1 but nothing set in stone.
