Better gas up........

We just cancelled our vacation because of the price of gasoline. Driving as little as possible. Very grateful that hubby, who is an electrician drives a company truck and his employer pays for gas.

The price of everything is going to rise because of this. We are trying to figure out how to tighten our belts on a single income, and yet be generous to those who have it so, so bad.

I was bitching about the cost of heating oil (I paid 2.40/gal a few weeks ago and almost cried. It was 1.70 last year.) I can't imagine what it is going to cost folks who waited to fill up. I'm glad we bought it when we did.

Going to be wearing lots of warm clothing this winter. But at least we've got our home and electricity and running water and plenty of food and the blessings go on and on.

Sorry for rambling.

RE: These prices are nothing

I was on La Maddalena for the two weeks. It was interesting landing in Olbia airport. I live in San Diego and the terrain looked exactly like East San Diego county! Right down to the rocks and vegetation. A person sitting next to me on the plane agreed (ironically, he was from San Diego and was staying at the same hotel as me!).

The Island was absolutely beautiful. It was interesting seeing wild boar, sheep, and goats on Caprera Island.

I'm SO excited! Last night I was showing houses on the south side of the cities (an hour and a half from home)...Prices were up to $3.19...Figured, "I've got a quarter of a tank left, I'll be fine."...Get to my town, it's $2.99...PHEW!!

This afternoon on the way to the office, it was down to $2.79!! Thank goodness I didn't FILL lst night!

Just heard that some gas stations here in Virginia have closed already. Our state trooper here just told me. I went to get gas for the gas can as I ran out of gas while mowing and I could not believe this one lady just standing there putting gas in all these cans. I think she was starting a collection. Gosh! So since there are alot of these kind of people doing so, some gas stations have decided to close early to conserve the gas and will reopen on Tuesday. Gee Whiz!
