Alpha Omega Check-In *AUGUST*

Hello Ladies,

I am happy it's Friday, lol. Thank god for the weekends :)

Cathy, love the picture :)

Jen, have fun with your new toy, and I hope you get your printer fixed soon. It drives me crazy when I have technical issues.

Christine, I can't believe you are already on week 5. I can't even imagine myself running for 20 minutes straight. I can walk, but running gets me breathless very quickly. That is an awesome accomplishment. Congrats :) Glad your eye is feeling better too :)

My workout today was quite a mix. I did Burn 3, and did split some of the exercises. I found I was able to go heavier for lower body, and of course I need to go lighter for upper. It felt much better for me. Of course Burn 3 is a tough workout anyway, so my legs are still shaking. After Burn, I did Ab Burn, and an 8 minute Tae-bo workout for a little added cardio. Not that I needed it, but it's Friday, lol.

Have a great night everyone.

Wow, Saturday already with a new laptop (Toshiba from Walmart) and a new camera. The printer works better now than it did before. Praise GOD for all of this plus my "A" in marketing.
Need to write a paper for Ethics now.

Woohoo, Jen. Sounds like Christmas in August, lol. I love, love, love new toys :) Enjoy your new laptop & digital camera. Congrats on your excellent grade. Glad to hear all of your hard work paid off.

Hello Christine & Cathy. I hope you are having a good day. The weather is beautiful here. I was just out sunbathing in my yard, and will be back out there in a few.

I decided to take another rest day today, and make it a 2 rest day week. I think the CLX workouts merits a 2 day rest, lol. Especially since I get to work double on Monday with Burn 1 and 30/30 class. So, I am enjoying my rest today and tomorrow.

I went out shopping earlier today, and bought a new dress with a gift card my son had given me for Mother's Day, and also picked myself up a new pair of sneaks. I've had my eye on these for a while, and today they were on sale for $45. so I picked them up.

I'll check in again later.

"Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing."" (John 15:4-5)

Jen, great job on your grade!! Good luck with your new laptop, I'm glad you were able to choose one. I saw your post in OD but was going to tell you that I have no idea about which types of laptops to buy. I was going to tell you I'd ask my hubby, since he's good at that stuff, but sounds like you made out good already! Did you Ethics class just start?

Cathy, how are you doing? Any plans for the weekend?

Iris, yes CLX definitely warrents two rest days! :) I'm glad you treated yourself to some new things and relaxing today! What brand of sneakers did you end up buying? Don't you love a sale!!? I have to say, aside from a sore throat I've been battling :)(), I feel much better this weekend than I did last weekend! I know for sure now that CLX is too much for me right now. I will have to live it through you for now, lol! Thanks for the congrats on my run! I have to admit though that technically I jog ;) But I consider doing anything faster than walking for 20 minutes an accomplishment for me! :p

As usual, no workouts for me this weekend. I've been doing some cleaning while my hubby is doing some more work on the dining room. We ordered our blinds last night and our chandelier should be in this week, so things are coming together!

Hello Everyone,

The weekend is winding down already. It's been nice though. I've had a nice restful weekend, with no workouts, and I'm good with that, lol. This is new for me. I am learning self control :)

I've been enjoying my day with my daughter. We went to church today, and she even went up to the altar for prayer, and when we left church, she said she felt like she was seeing for the first time. I am soo touched by that :) Then we went shopping. I bought myself another dress at such a bargain, and a pair of shorts, and bought her a couple new things too. Including a comforter set. She was thrilled.

How's everyone's weekend been? Christine, you're house sounds like it's coming along nicely. I can't wait to get working on mine. I have lots of plans for my living room, but I have to start with painting. As soon as the weather cools a bit, so we can open the windows.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.

This weekend was a blessing although I was concerned that I wouldn't start or finish my paper but I did. Also, I called my cell phone provider and they dropped my monthly rate over 50% plus the ISP wireless provider accepted my student discount. Praise HIM for this momentum!!!
Iris-Great story about you and your daughter. Life is good.
Christine-send us pics of your new dining room.

quik check-in. company all weekend, exhausted! will take the whole week to recover from company. hope i am not as tired next week as i am today.

"I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing." (Psalm 16:2)

Iris, I'm glad you took off the whole weekend. It feels great, doesn't it!? Now you can start over today nice and refreshed. :) I'm happy to hear about your daughter's experience at church, I will keep her in prayer! Good luck with Burn 1 tonight! I can't believe it's week 3 either!

Jen, as soon as our dining room is complete I will try and post before/after pics, if I can figure out how!! :p I'll have to ask my hubby, he's good with that stuff! I'm happy to hear of your blessed weekend!

Cathy, glad to see you check-in, even if it is only for a moment. Get some good rest this week! I'm sure you will feel as good as new next week.

Today's workout was Week 6, Day 1 of Couch to 5K. It was back to interval runs at 5 minute run, walk a few, 8 minute run, walk a few, 5 minute run, cool down. I struggled a bit today because I'm still battling my sore mouth/throat. It's bringing me down because it's so darn painful to eat or even talk! I know I shouldn't complain but when I feel this way 2 days or more, something comes over me and I get sad. :( I know I'll be better soon though.

ETA: I forgot to add that I also did GS Chest/Tricep timesaver, Ab Jam Floor Abs, and Slim & Limber.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Thank GOD, Monday is over. Ethics class is good. My new team is good as well. We are discussing in a nice rate over the project that is due.

Hello Ladies,

I'm with Jen, thank god Monday is over! :)

Cathy, LOL, you do sound tired. Company has a way of leaving me drained too :)

Hi Christine. Did you try canca? They even sell it in a patch form. My daughter uses the liquid, but I think the patch would feel even better. It adds as a shield while numbing the area at the same time. You should start to feel better very soon :)

I am tired, and having some kind of pain along the inside of my ankle. New sneakers always take some breaking into, and maybe it was a combo of my legs being fatigued already from Burn 1, and then hitting the gym for the 30/30 step class. That instructor is just insane. Her energy has no end, lol. I was tired already after Burn 1, and was even debating whether I should go to class or not, but I had a bit of a stressful event toward the later part of my work day, and felt like I needed to work it out.

Going to watch a little tv with my daughter, and hopefully get a good night's sleep.

Have a great night ladies.

"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" (Joshua 24:15)

Iris, how is your ankle feeling today? I get that pain sometimes too, I find it helps to strech the achilles tendon. You probably have to get used to your new sneakers. I give you credit for doing that 30/30 class after the Burn Circuits. I don't know where you find the energy! :) But I agree, a good cardio session is a great stress release!

Jen, I'm glad your new team is doing well. It must be tough wondering if the next team will work well together or not.

Cathy, I hope you are getting some good rest!

Today's workout was Kickmax. I'm not into the long, high intensity workouts anymore, but I had the itch to do this one and I can't believe I did the whole thing! It really tells me how much running has built up my endurance and leg strength! I was happy to make it through all the plie jacks and plyo jumps during the challenge. I did modify some of the moves, but still finished the whole darn workout, including the leg drills! I followed it up with Slim & Limber.

I also went to NJ today to pick up our blinds! My hubby found out that our chandelier should be in tomorrow too, so I'm excited to have everything installed. We're having a family BBQ this weekend and it will be nice to have the dining room done.

Hope everyone is having a blessed day!

Ankle is feeling better today. I was able to make it through the entire 30/30 class with no discomfort. I didn't plan to stay for the full class, but I got soo into my workout, I just kept going.

Christine, that's awesome how your cardio level is improving with your running. I want to start adding a little running to my workouts, at least on TM. Sounds like your dining room is coming together :)

I'm a little tired now, so I'm off to get some rest now.

Hi Jen & Cathy, hope you're both having a good day.

Good night ladies.

Hello Iris, Christine, and Cathy.
Thank GOD, it's Wednesday.
Hope you all have a peaceful day.

Jen

Hello Ladies,

Boy am I feeling fried today. I was soo tired at work, that sleepy, I need a nap kind of feeling. I couldn't wait to get out of work. I insisted on getting Burn 2 in after work as tired as I was, by telling myself, there are only a few exercises to get through. Oh my, there are only a few, but they burn sooo much, lol. I am really fried now.

Well, tomorrow is my son Nick's 20th BD, and I do plan to go to the gym, but I think I will only be hitting the 30 minute cardio and call it a day.

Jen, how's work going this week?

Christine, I hope that canker sore is getting better. My daughter's doctor visit still did not give me any peace of mind. The doctor wants to see her again in two weeks to see if they are any smaller. I can't let my daughter see I'm worried, because she's a hyponcondriate and will start to think something's wrong with her.

Cathy, how are you? I'm finally got to spend some time with my grandson today. I can't believe how fast they grow up. He'll be 3 in October and is talking up a storm now.

Ladies have a great evening :)

Hello Friends,
Tonight, I got my outfit for the Reniasance Faire for Labor Day plus a new battery for my car. Tired of spending money or using the plastic now. Pray for a new position and a new home for me at the newest location, I am ready for a change in many ways. Going to visit on Saturday for short trip.
Iris-maybe a night off would have been OK. You deserve it.
Christine-Your new dining room sounds great.
Cathy-Hello

"The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." (Proverbs 18:10)

Good evening ladies! I had a busy day and just finished up our Bible study, so I wanted to post and say hello! I had fun today helping out with the shelter! I had 11 kittens in my car bringing them to and from getting spayed/neutered. They were all screaching together, not wanting to be in their cages, but I loved every minute of it! :)

Jen, what do you dress up as for the Reniassance Fair? They have that fair by me, but I forget when, soon I think. Sorry your car needed a new battery!!

Iris, I have those days where all I want to do is sleep, it's so UGH! Good for you for getting Burn 2 done. I hope you are relaxing, or in bed by now! :D I'll continue keeping your daughter in prayer, I'm sure she will be okay! I am a hypochondriac too!! I know I shouldn't be, but it's a struggle to give things I worry about over to God! My mouth is finally feeling better, but still not 100%. There are still certain foods, or even my cold water, that hit the sore and it really hurts!! :( My throat feels better though! Ah well, each day that goes by is another day closer to full healing!

Cathy, I hope you are still relaxing and enjoying your rest week!

Today's workout was Week 6, Day 2 of Couch to 5K. I did two 10 minute interval runs with a 3 minute walk in between. I wanted to do GS BSB too, but I was too busy, so I will just get to that tomorrow or Friday.

Have a great night!

whew!, well, this has not been a very restful week. my last guest left about an hour ago. i am soooooo tired. i have not had time or energy to do any workouts this week, so i'm glad it is my week off. i really hope i feel more energetic on monday to start meso 3.
gonna go vege.

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. " (Psalm 20:7-8)

Cathy, it's nice to hear from you! Wow, you had company until mid-week? I thought they left last weekend. I'm glad you're taking it easy with no workouts, sounds like you really need that this week. Have fun vegging!!

Jen, how are you doing?

Iris, how is work going? What workout do you have planned for tonight?

Today's workout was GS BSB Timesaver, and Burn if Off from CLX. Phew, that is one tough little 27 min HIIT workout! I was using my hubby's power blocks for my GS workout today and thought to myself during bicep curls that the weight felt way too heavy (I thought I was using 15 lbs). I double checked the set up and realized I was lifting 20 lbs!! I actually did all my back rows with 20lbs, thinking I was using 15lbs! I can't believe it!! That is super heavy for me. I lightened up so I could do the bicep curls though because 20lbs is TOO heavy for me to complete those! Anyway, after my first set of curls I quickley dropped to 10 lbs, then 8lbs for the remaining exercises to finish. :p

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Ladies,

I'm still at work, but it's very quiet here, so I decided to check in.

Cathy, it's soo nice to hear from you :) Sounds like your rest week really hasn't been restful, lol. Hopefully you will be energized and ready to move on to Meso 3 on Monday. You still have a few days left to recoup :)

Christine, lol, I've done that too with weights sometimes. I remember one particular time doing rows, and wondering why I was having such a hard time lifting the weight. Turned out, I had grabbed my 20's, thinking they were 15, lol. You did good :)

As for me, I am feeling soo exhausted. Kind of feel the way you described feeling after you completed the first week of CLX Burn. I don't know why I feel soo tired and sleepy as well. I started off the week, eager to get back to my work-outs, after having taken the whole weekend off. I worked out really hard on Monday & Tuesday. Yesterday, it took a lot of discipline to get Burn 2 done. I really did not feel like working out. After I was done with it, I was just soo exhausted. My whole body just felt drained. Amazing, since those workouts are shorter than what I'm used to. I think it's that slow pace that's tiring me out. Today is my middle son Nick's 20th BD, so we're going to have take out, (probably Dominos), and cake, and I have talked myself into taking a rest day. I'll swap it for Saturday, lol. I see no point in forcing myself to workout when I am this tired. I should look at it as though I did something right early in the week to be this tired, and I deserve a break, lol.

Hello Jen, hope you're having a good day.

Have a great evening everyone :)

well, another unrestful day. LOL! man, and tomorrow is gonna be super busy. i guess i'm gonna have to rest on sunday to be ready for m3. i'm almost afraid to start m3, i just ddon't feel ready for it this time around. not sure why. i think the heat has just done me in this summer. i will not do STS in the summer again. ya'll have a great weekend, will probably not be back til sunday evening.
bye, cathy
