Alpha Omega Check-In *AUGUST*

Hello Friends.
Going between 2 computers is not good right now so I am using the desktop at home but prepping the laptop for the road.
My costume for the faire is a bar maid/tavern wench. The outfit is not too risque and actually covers me up with some minor adjustments, I found it on Ebay. It is conservative compared to others.
Team is pretty good, although much prep work is needed to finish the class.
TGIF!!

"Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ." (Philipians 1:27)

Hello ladies! I've had a busy day today. I've been shopping, cleaning, and preparing for our family BBQ tomorrow! I'm looking forward to it! The weather was quite nasty here before, really bad rain and tornado warnings, but the worst seems to have passed.

Iris, how was your day today? Are you doing Burn 3 tonight? Are you still feeling really tired and worn out? Sounds like you are feeling the way I did! I think you're right, I think it's the loooong pace of the reps that really gets you! How was your son's birthday celebration? I hope you had a nice time!

Jen, have fun at the fair! Is it this weekend?

Cathy, definitely get some rest on Sunday!

Today's workout was Day 3 of Week 6 from Couch to 5K. I ran for 25 minutes (2.5 miles)!! I was sooooo tired by the 20 minute mark, but I made it that far and was determined to finished! I can't believe I made it! My dog was beat after that too. I came home, gave her a bath (she was all dirty from swimming in the lake all week), and then got my day started. I'm thinking of only running 2x per week starting next week. I'm starting to miss other forms of cardio! I don't think I'll post again until Monday, but I might get online on Sunday. If not, have a great weekend everyone!

Hello Ladies,

Thank god it's Friday. I really need to rest up.

Cathy, I can relate to how tired you feel. I'm beginning to think that's part of my problem too, even though I keep insisting the heat does not bother me, lol. I just know it's not normal for me to feel this drained.

Jen have fun at the fair, and the weekend in general.

Christine, enjoy your family barbecue. Would you believe I did not do Burn 3 today? I developed a pain in the butt, lol. (Literally). I showed my daughter where it hurt, and she said, ewww, that's a pain in the butt, I don't need to know about that, lol. I don't know what did it, especially since I did not workout yesterday. Well, I ended up taking today off to, and hope to get to Burn 3 tomorrow, but if I'm still in pain, I will only do the upper body workouts. If you remember, Burn 3, is a real burner. It hits the legs in a big way, and the calves in particular. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. If we don't hear from you during the weekend, have a great weekend :)

Good night everyone.

Hello Friends,
No Faire this weekend, it's Labor Day Saturday. Prayer request for a former neighbor of mine from Detroit, we have reconnectd on another site. May the Spirit lead you in praying for her. My paper is done for this week and possible road trip tomorrow.
Christine-WOW!! on your day today and have fun at the BBQ.
Iris-Rest is good, too much working out does cause burnout. Have fun!!

BBL

Hello Ladies,

I hope you are all enjoying the weekend. It's raining here. Christine, sorry, it must have rained on your barbeque too. I'm sure you still had a great time :)

Jen, I'll be praying for your friend. Enjoy your road trip tomorrow if you go :)

Hello Cathy.

I'm feeling better today, thank god. I was in such pain yesterday, and I woke up feeling stiff again today, but I went ahead and worked out, and it actually helped. I got in Burn 3 and Ab burner. I wasn't ready to quit, so I went on to do Tracey Stahle's Boost your Metabolism - Weights section. Then I treated myself to Cathe's Stretch Max Ball stretch. I feel pretty good now. I think I was a little burned out, or it could have been the heat to that was draining me. The heat doesn't bother me, but I'm sure my oxygen level wasn't quite the same.

I can't believe on Monday I move onto Week 4 of Burn. My last week of the burn phase. I think I'm going to take a week off between phases. Just like STS. The schedule they wrote up for CLX has you move from one phase diretly to the next, but I think a break would be a good thing. I'll do my gym workouts which has some sculpting but no heavy weights.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone.

Hello Friends.
How are you? Looks like I am staying home again due to weather but it's nice to be with Seville and Madrid. Thanks for your prayers this person. With private emails, I would give you more information.
Iris-congrats on week 4 and sorry to hear that you my weather too.
Christine-how was the bbq?
Cathy-where are you?

JT

Hello Ladies,

Wow, weekend's nearly over already. I am home relaxing today.

Thanks for the Congrats Jen. I am looking forward to finishing up this Burn phase. I think the Push phase will be much more enjoyable.

I had a good workout today. One of my old goodies, Tae Bo Get Ripped Adv. 2. That workout is pure cardio. I had to work out in my living room, the basement was stifling.

Christine, I hope you're enjoying your weekend.

Cathy, are you ready to start Meso 3 tomorrow? Hope you managed to get some rest. Sounds like you have been crazy busy.

Ladies enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

WOW! it is almost the end of august. this summer has flown by. i wish it would just keep flyin, and get cooler. kids start school here tomorrow. unbelievable!

and yes, i have been crazy busy. man, it's a good thing last week was rest, cuz i didn't have time to do anything extra. i didn't get much rest today.

i started meso 3 today w/the first plyo legs cuz i needed a shorter workout today. man, it seemed harder this time. i just about passed out. mega puke factor. as a matter of fact i still feel kinda pukey. think i am gonna do shoulder, tris, and ? , can't think of the 3rd thing, anyway, gonna do it tomorrow, cuz i probably will only have 4 days to workout this week. have to work at a horse show friday & saturday, and don't think a workout is gonna happen those days, except for cleaning stalls, riding, and sweating to death.guess that will count.

“I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy. Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.” (Psalm 116)

Hi everyone! We had a great time this weekend with our family BBQ. There was lots of good food and a lot of fun! On Sunday my hubby & I went out for breakfast and then rented some movies and just vegged out the rest of the day, it was great! I have to try and make my post quick since this computer virus I am dealing with keeps kicking me off the site each time I try and type this post!! :(

Cathy, maybe you should take one more week off since you really didn't get to "rest" last week? Just be careful with your workouts and the heat you are dealing with! It could get dangerous for your health.

Jen, I will keep your neighbor in prayer and hope you enjoyed your weekend, despite the rain!

Iris, I can't believe it's week 4 of the Burn Phase, woo hoo! :) I think taking a break between phases is a good idea. I'm glad your "butt pain" went away! :p

This is Week 7 for me of the Couch to 5K program and I plan on decreasing my runs to 2x per week, instead of the recommended 3x per week. I'm itching to do other types of cardio now and don't want to get burned out on running. Today I plan on taking a walk with my dog and trying Jari Love's Ripped 1000 (or Ripped & Chiseled).

My posts may be more sporadic now instead of everyday until this virus is taken care of.

PHEW!!! My computer let me post!! Wait.... I haven't his "submit reply" yet! **crossing fingers**

OWWW! gonna have sore shoulders, bi's & tri's tomorrow. i think i got the weight right this time in meso 3. very hard. barely made my 8 reps. i plan to be sore all over for the next month. mah buns are on fire from plyo legs.

i already started, christine, but i am gonna take it easy on cardio this month. i am still tired. and i won't workout fri. or sat. although i'm gonna be at a horse show, so not like i'm gonna rest.

Hello Cathy, Jen & Christine,

The weekend went by soo fast. I was not happy when my alarm clock went off this morning. Especially since I don't usually need an alarm to wake me up, lol.

Cathy, are you enjoying STS more this 2nd time around, or did you enjoy the first round more? I will eventually do another round of STS. CLX is not nearly as enjoyable as STS, but the workouts are much shorter. Gotta love that with my busy lifestyle, lol.

Christine, what kind of computer virus does do you have? I downloaded a temporary antivirus software on my computer, because my McAffe expired, and it did a number on my computer. Every time I try to uninstall it, I get the deadly blue screen. I gave up uninstalling it for now, but really don't like that antivirus. I don't even like the name "Rising antivirus". I hope you get that virus cleaned out soon.

Ok, so I started my final week of Burn today. I am soo excited to be in my last week. I didn't find the workout nearly as tough today, and I even upped my weights on some of the exercises, although I did drop the weights on the deadlift/posterior fly exercise. I dropped down to 10 lb.db's. That exercise really hurts my back. I did great with the drop in weights. I didn't go to the gym today for the 30/30 class. Instead I did T.J.'s 20 minute workout for some added cardio. It was my oldest son's 23rd BD, and we had a B.D. cake for him, so I didn't really have time to hit the gym. It's just as well anyway. I know last week I was feeling soo burned out from the combination of CLX, plus classes at the gym. I tend to go overboard sometimes.

Ok, I'm off to read a bit before calling it a night.

Chat more tomorrow.

Stopping by to say Hello. My old neighbor has had a change of heart on the other network, thanks for your prayers and keep them coming. Changes at work are ahead, one month from today. BBL

Hello Ladies,

I hope everyone is having a good week so far.

I had a great workout at the gym today. Had a powerful workout, but now I'm tripping over my own feet as I walk, lol. I guess I'm tired, lol.

I am two workouts away from completing CLX - Burn, so looking forward to tomorrow's workout.

Have a great night ladies.

"The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 1:14)

Cathy, how are you doing? I see you started Meso 3, do you feel okay or do you feel like you needed more time to rest?

Iris, congrats on your last week of the Burn Phase! I know how excited you are! :) Sounds like you're doing good, increasing your weights and stuff. That deadlift/back row move killed my back too, but sounds like you're modifying to meet your needs. The virus we have is a Trojan virus. It keeps sneaking its way past our anti-virus software. We got that deadly blue screen the other night, but the computer is still working. I couldn't get on-line yesterday because my husband wanted to back everything up last night first, in case the computer died. Now we'll just have to wipe the whole computer clean and start fresh. What did you do at the gym last night? Was it your 30/30 kickbox? How is your work week going?

Jen, I'm glad to hear things are going well with your old neighbor! How is school going?

On Monday I took my dog for about a 3 mile walk, then I came home and did Jari Love's Ripped & Chiseled. I don't click with Jari at all, but her workout was definitely effective! I am still sore! Yesterday I did my first run from Week 7 of C25K. We ran 25 minutes. The weather was favorable, low humidity and slight breeze, so that made it easier. Today I plan on another walk with the dog and maybe something else at home, not sure what yet though.

Have a great day ladies!

Life is odd, my team at school is down to two of us from four with an excessively large paper to write by week 6. I did notify the professor about this but nothing may change since charters were done and are legal documents. Please pray for work and for school.
Thanks

Jen, I'll keep praying for work and school :) Hang in there.

Christine, my class yesterday was the 30/30 kickboxing class. It really was a fun class and I stayed the whole hour. I didn't know how I was going to feel today, especially to tackle the bicep work of Burn 2, but surprisingly, I did well. I upped my weights by 1lb. on some of the exercises, and didn't really modify anything, except for the deadlift/row combination, where you hold the weights palms facing up. That one really hurts my back, so I only did 6 in that position, and the remaining 6 palms facing in. I have actually been enjoying Burn this week. It figures, since it's my final week and I can feel an end in sight, lol. I only have one more to get through. I plan to take a break next week. I'll do the 30/30 classes at the gym, and cardio at home too. This way, my muscles will get a break from the heavy weights, and I'll be better prepared to Push it the following week.

Cathy, I hope you're having a good week, and getting through your first week of Meso 3 ok?

This week is going by soo fast. I can't believe it's already Thursday tomorrow!

Have a great night ladies.

Update, for school, my team got dismantled and I was put to a new team. They don't know it yet.
Work, a senior manager gave notice. Life will change.

hi ladies, sorry to be awol! and, yes, to everyone, i was sore for 3 days from plyo legs, i just did chest & back today, so i hope i can pick up a saddle tomorrow. i have to ride at a horse show fri. & sat. so, there will probably not be any workouts for me on those days. they are gonna be long and hard days. and, w/the heat, yuck! so, that is only 4 workouts for this week. i did fat blasting cardio today after disc 25. used 8" step and weight gloves for part of it. i was sweatin' like crazy. i may get in a short cardio in the morning, but i doubt is.

iris- i like it better cuz i know more of what is coming, and i am more comfortable w/my weight selections. but, it is really hard this time around. not sure why, i havent' gone up that much on my weights.
christine, yes on the rest, this week has been tough. i have barely done anything besides STS. just the 30m cardio i mentioned.

so, i probably won't be back on here til sunday, ya'll have a great friday, and weekend.

Hello Friends.
More updates, one day a week, I will be traveling for work with a slight change in hours. About 8 more days till Faire and I am getting excited.

“You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.” (Isaiah 26:3)

Cathy, good luck at your horse show this weekend!

Jen, it's a good thing that you have a new school team, right? You should be able to get your paper done now with more help!

Iris, how was your workout tonight? I bet you are excited about the Burn Phase this week because you know it's your last week doing it! :p :) I think you will have fun next week taking a break and just doing your own thing.

My workout today was my 2nd run from Week 7. It was another 25 minute run. The intervals are over now and it's just non-stop running from now until Week 9. Next week I move on to 28 minutes. I've had a busy two days. I found a sick kitty yesterday when I was out for a walk with my dog, so I've been spending a lot of time with her. She's at our house now until we can find her a permanent home. I also spent most of the day with my grandma. We had lunch and did some shopping. I'm exhausted now and ready for bed! :D Have a great night everyone!
