Accomplished mommies and their snoozin babes 4/18-4/24

Christine~ maybe that's why my kids always start solids later. lol Here I thought it was just a genetic thing. Susan started closer to 6 months too, I think?

Where is SuzieQ? Is your company still theree?

We have MOPS this morning. I'm looking forward to getting to know some more local women. All the mommies are so young (compared to me). lol

Lisa- The first night I did Insanity, I had weird sleep. I think it left me really wired too. DH asked me last night if I am "leaking" during Insanity (I told him that Christine warned us about it if we dont do our keagals) ;) and I am not so much anymore and I have only done 4-5 times.

Its funny how alike we are...I do the same thing with laundry. It sits folded for awhile. Sometimes I even live out of that folded pile. Much easier than taking the effort/time to put away. :D

Melanie- Yahoo for the fun stuff in the mail! I ordered a bunch of stuff for James and the beach off Amazon last night. It was kinda expensive but I want to make sure he does not burn. Got a floppy hat, sunglasses, long sleeve shirt and a cabana type thing. DH and I live in the sun during the summer so I want to make sure that he is safe.

Christine- Jimmy's art class sounds fun. Ugh at having to clean up after the workers. Our work never ends does it?

Susan- I started Meso 2 last night. I had two more "rest" days but I couldn't take it. I was ready to start going heavier. I really liked it. At first, I wasnt keen on the 60 sec rest periods but I was able to turn on oven, put in casserole and then check on it a few times between the rest periods. I felt like I had more time to get my weights ready too. I went heavier and was shaking! She does each body part to failure and then moves on to the next which I liked. I did Chest Shoulders Triceps and in a weird way, I was disappointed there were no pushups. :( But I'm sure I'll do plenty with Insanity. I slept HARD last night too. I have a feeling this rotation is going to wear me out, which I love!!!

Hi Mel! We missed each other!

My sitter fed J oatmeal yesterday and she said he ate a lot. I will introduce another veggie this weekend. Maybe carrots????

Hi ladies,

I have been working far for the past two days and usually get home SOOO tired. I'm lucky if I can get a workout in. Talking about Imaxes, I did I max 2 last night. What an awesome and fun workout. I love the song during the warm up.

Christine, my pedi says the same thing about starting solids. Daniel is 4 1/2 months and I haven't started yet. It's a struggle to feed him because ANYTHING seems to be more interesting that mom's milk. He gets easily distracted if there are people talikng, TV or computer on or just when he wants to look at the ceiling fan. I will be buying some cereal this weekend and see if he likes it for now. Ah, I got the revab rotation already, thanks Christine. I can't wait to have my core rock hard!

Jen, seven toe push ups???? WOW! I'm still doing girl push ups and feel pretty challenged. My core needs a lot of work. I used to be able to do al least three in a row before preggo.

Lisa, so you tried the i hr long Insanity!! I have to master one of those soon. Now that I'm not following a rotation, I think I'm happier because I get to do what I feel like doing and that's it! Oh, I too pump at work, but only once beacuse the days that I work close to home I get to go home and feed Daniel. If I work far, I pump before work and once at work. I has worked so far. I tend not to pump much during the weekends.

Melanie, I seriously think that Daniel won't be ready for solids yet. His pedi said not to rush it since he's breasfeeding it will probably be close to the 6 mo mark. Ah, and he doesn't want me to add cereal to the bottle, he wants me to spoon feed him solely for now. He's not a big fan of pacifiers either. Kind of a war man, I think ;)

Kendra, are you following the Insanity rotation?

All right, back to work, see you all later!

just checking in to say hi! Having a tired day. John was up every hour last night. I had him swaddled and did not realize he had peed through his diaper. Poor guy was tryign to let me know! Eyes are burnign.
I came unglued on DH today. He has to work late Friday night and wants me to have dinner waiting for him when he gets home and I told him that was not going to happen. IT is so hard to get dinner on the table (a fancy dinner, not chicken nuggets) and get the house clean and kids to bed alone. When he is not here, I just have a ssandwich or whatever I heat up for Jimmy. Then he is workign all day saturday, so I will have to do my 18 miles in the heat at the end of the day and then he is busy all day sunday. Gah.
Kids are asleep, so going to try to do some exercise to pep me up.
BBL.

18 miles, Christine? Wowzers. You have a tough training schedule. You hold such high expectations (with training & dinners)....I don't know how you stay glued together! Superwoman!

Jen, I am so lucky. No leaking here. My bladder is doing really good. Funny b/c I had to wear diapers when I was pg & vomiting all the time. The schear force of the vomit caused my to urinate & whatever other body fluid might come sputtering out.

Precila, I haven't heard of anyone giving cereal in the bottle for YEARS. I think it's considered a choking hazard. But I'm sure that's how my mom gave me my first cereal many many years ago. lol I'm not sure if you can even get a cereal nipple nowadays? So when did you decide not to do the rotation? How far were you into it? I"m not sure I can do a 90 day rotation. I trained for 12 weeks for the 1/2 marathon and it was starting to wear on my. Eight weeks max. Have you done the Brazilian Butt Lift rotation?

Susan, you got that house picked up yet?

Lisa, in Minnesota it's a LAW that employers have to give mom's time to pump milk for their babies. If you want to do this, your employer has no choice but to provide this time for you. I know it can be akward, but I am glad I'm doing it. I'm really proud of you hanging in there like this. :D

I did Brazil Butt High & Lift (45 min strength) & 4 miles jogging with Jadon & Madalynn in the jogging stroller. Whew. I forgot how much work the jogging stroller is....especially on loose gravel. I will have to get DH to pump more air in my tires. lol

Today's Menu
B: steel cut oats, 1/2 banana, walnuts cofee
S: cantalope, cheese, guacomole rice chips
L: 1 cup spagetti w/sauteed veggies, chocolate milk
S: protein grapefruit/orange smoothie, mixed nuts
d: turkey/beef meatloaf, sweet potatoes, asparagus, milk
S: fiber one bar

just used foam roller to help with leg pain. It feels so good along the quads, calves & glutes. My hottub is still broken & I can't seem to get DH to call the electrician. Might have to do it myself!

Christine, nothing like a workout to pep me up too. DH is at college now and I'm just waiting for him to come back so I can get my workout in. I came back from work with no energy at all and hungryyyy. Had to stop to get an open face grilled chicken sandwich and then slept for 2 hrs. The drive to work is killing me. I overheard that I may have to do the same thing for the month of May since they haven't found anyone else to replace me. GRRRR

Melanie, I was about to start my 8th week when the stomach flu hit me! Then I couldn't w/o for a whole week and lost motivation, besides that I was missing my other dvds. I think that once I lean out so more I may want to do a shortened version of CLX (maybe 3 weeks for phase). I have not done BBL rotation, but I have done hight and thight once. How did you like it?? Which band are you using??

Hey, does any of you have a spin bike or maybe a recumbent one?? I am flirting with the possibility of getting one. I have a treadmil and an elliptical so it's not mandatory to have this but I've heard great things about spinning and was just wondering

Ah, Christine I forgot to answer your ?, my back is kinda better but my ankle still bothers me sometimes. I keep on working out so that may not help but if I don't w/o I get insane!!

Precila~ I have a green band, but I used 5lb weights. It's much touhger than it looks. I"m sorry you got the stomach bug...and I know long drives can be exhausting. Hang in there! 3 weeks/phase sounds like a great idea! I might need to implement that. I also was thinking about incorporating Insanity with it.

Susan~ I forgot to answer your sugar detox question. Yes, when initially detoxing I eliminate all sugar from my diet besides lactose (milk) and one fruit smoothie/day (bc I was nursing). It's short, just 7-10 days.

I work next two days (for punishment for last weeks short week). I'm packing my back in case I'm exhausted I can spend the night. Sometimes I'm just too beat to drive home, sleep, and then get up and go to work for another 14 hours. I'll have to get up throughout the night to pump though. We'll see. Just an option. :)

Melanie- I did Plyo Cardio Circuit (or something like that) Insanity tonight and during the third set of jumping jacks my bladder failed me. I spoke too soon...oh well. :D You're an animal, I would want my own bed but I guess it is also safer if you are just too tired to drive. I'm glad the foam roller helped, I've thought about getting one.

Priscila- Hope you were able to get your workout in! I was surprised at the push ups too. I think Insanity and doing alot of plank work has helped.

Christine- I'm sorry you had a tired day. And tell DH he is crazy for the dinner comment. I hope you got some exercise in to help you relax.

Took James and Kayla (our dog) for ice cream tonight. It was fun. James stuck his hand right in DH's sundae. :D It was pretty cute. Even Kayla got a doggie ice cream.

Off to bed....night night wonderful mommies!

Happy Friday! Today started off in a positive note..partially because I don't have to be to work until 9 :). The scale dropped below 130 again! 128.8! I keep going back and forth around 130 by about a lb.

Christine-ugh. that comment by DH would have thrown me over the edge. I know he works some long days, but so do you! I would kindly suggest he orders something to go from his favorite restaurant :)

Melanie-yeah, I don't have a problem with my boss not letting me pump...I just feel so strapped for time. I said to heck with it yesterday though and fit in 3 sessions. I only pump for 10min each time.

Priscilla-commutes suck. How long will you be doing it and how long of a commute is it? I don't know how I would fit in my workout if I had more than my 15min drive.

Jen-can't remember if I congratulated you on your pushups! Awesome!

Knee-friendly workout on tap for today--taking Caden for a long walk after work if it's not raining. Yesterday I did ClX Burn Circ 3. I really felt it in the shoulders. Next week, I may try all the circuits with the band instead of using weights. I also did Mercy Abs.

Better take advantage of Reese sleeping in and get ready for work. Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning to all your wonderful ladies....

I dont mean to hi-jack your thread but I must say I always pop my head in here every week just to see what you ladies are up to. I find all of you so inspirational and full of wonderful advice and so knowledgeable and also very funny. I want to join your thread but I am not quite there yet but will be soon. Hopefully you ladies will have me. For now I check into the other thread for expecting mommies to be.

My name is Lilly and I am 6 months pregnant. My due date is Aug. 08 and this is not my 1st baby. I have 2 other girls. My oldest will be 18 in 6 months and my other one just turned 5. I'm 36 years old and have been married for 5 years and I'm from New York.

Anyway I had a question on breast feeding and was wondering if any of you exclusively pump because that's what I'm thinking of doing. I'm open to any all suggestions. I did breast feed my 5 year old but only for like a month. It was good she latched on with no problem but I felt like she was on on me all the time and it was exhausting I also had a C section because she was a big baby she ate alot so I also supplemented with formula.

I'm open to any and all suggestions. Thanks ladies for all your help and for listening

Lilly

Morning ladies! Man, this STS/Insanity rotation has me feeling WIPED! But in a good way of course! :p

Hey Lisa! Thanks for the encouragement! Now I want to try to master pull ups! How was Mercy Abs? I'm just not a fan of the cardio bursts in RevAbs after I do Insanity. I just want a straight hard ab workout! I want to build muscle now and don't want to do too much cardio.

Welcome Lilly! I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to come here and ask questions! Feel free to check in with us anytime. :D I exclusively pumped for two months with my baby. I breast fed the first two months and then when I returned to work, I only pumped. After awhile, we had to supplement with formula. It was hard, tiring and alot of work but I felt good knowing that he got my breastmilk for four months. Hope that helps and if you have anymore questions, feel free to ask!

Jen- I should have put some depends in with your discs! I still leak on the hour plyo and interval circuit discs. But all in all, I think Shaun T is making things better faster than kegels! I wish I could have seen you guys at the ice cream store! Did you get the water table? There is also a cute water play mat that has little fountains and only a bit of water they sit in, I will find the link.
Susan- Are you maniacally cleaning and whipping up soup? Do your guests eat soup? I can imagine that you miss that and DH mises you... I was so inspired by your floors. I stripped mine, mopped and re-sealed mine yestetrday. They are so pretty. Thank you for the inspiration.
Melanie- ISn't the jogger a b*&%^ to push? It is great for getting ripped arms and back, though! Way to go!
Lisa- Yay for a good day! And on the weight. Woo hooo!!!!! I think the bands will still give you a great workout. I am so impressed at how you stay fit with RA. How are Cadens teeth?
Priscilla- Your work sounds really hard and the commute on top of it. Whew. I hope that this weekend gives you some relaxation!
Kendra and Judy - HI!
Lilly- Welcome. Warning, we are poop talkers and there is a lot of nookie going on! Come hang out with us anytime. We have all been through it, so we are like really athletic google. I am 34, have a four year old and a crappy sleeping 4 month old. I live in northern california. To answer your question, I pumped exclusively for almost 3 months, and it was tough. my son just could not latch. it is a huge time cmmitment and a lot of cleaning of parts. i stopped after getting drug resistant mastitis. and, it sounds awful, i was relieved. i also had severe post partum depression with that pregnancy, so that may have skewed my ability to see the silver lining of pumping. i did formula exclusively with #2 and he is fine. there are some great breastfeeders on here who also pump, so you should get good info.
priscil.la- i think that allison gave drew formula with cereal. you can use a fast or y nipple. do not worry about solids. one day they are ready!
took benadryl last night and slept great. john got up to eat a few times, but went back down easy after eating.
jen and all- i ordered sts abs. email me on fb if interested...

took jimmy and john to happy hollow zoo today adn fed the animals, and I think jimmy rode the rollercoaster 8 times. HE rode every ride., and played in the redwood playground. Best day ever for him! I am pooped! Made Dh his darn dinner but gave him a bit of an earful about being a food snob and that I do not just pull stuff out of the freezer, I actually make it and do the dishes and clean the house. I guess I am bumed bc tonight is a late night, tomorrrow he works till 3 and then when I get home, I go for a 18 mile training run. Sunday, he does his long run and then has a massage (which I scheduled) at noon. So he will be gone till at least 2 or 3. boo. So I am beign nuts. I know i am lucky that he works so I can stay home but I want a break from these hell cats! Okay, got ot bathe the kids. And contemplate beer or wine. Where the heck did all the mommas go?

Quiet here today. ;)

I decided to drive home....and I feel energetic enough...hope I'm not kicking myself tomorrow.

Vanilla Fat Free Yogurt w/fresh strawberry slices for bedtime snack. Kiddos are still awake....but not for long....then mommy's not far behind...

Welcome, Lily!

Christine- The zoo sounds like fun! I bet it wore Jimmy out! I can't imagine not having a break all weekend from the kids. Did he even understand about the dinner/dishes/cleaning thing or did it go in one ear and out the other? I keep forgetting to tell you that I've been giving J the Florastar probiotics and his poop is SO MUCH better! We have not heard him strain at all. Can you only buy it online? Its kinda pricey....

Hi Mel! Glad you made it home safe!

J tried carrots w DH today. He seemed to like them. DH sent me a pic at work with his face covered in orange. Really cute. No workout tonight. I got off work late and I'm on call this weekend. I am just wiped from STS and Insanity. I will do legs tomorrow. We are going to try and go to some garage sales again.

Oh and Christine, I did not buy a water table. But that one is really cute!

Night night mommies!

Those are the bet probiotics areound, and are expensive, but work! If I miss a dose, it is drama!!!! Glad they help! Carrots are John's favorite. ANd he loves the earths best yogurt oatmeal apple blend. Okay, he si screaming, Jimmy is clean and need to clean john.
Cannot wait to tell you more about our day.
Mel, you are wonderwoman.

Aghhhh John asleep and shower soon. Dh was grateful for dinner and chianti and clean sleeping kids. Off to shower and recall a great day. Love my babies!
