Oooookaeeee!!!!
Did my first 1RM test for 4 exercises... Barbell Curl, Alternating Standing Curls, One Arm Kickbacks and Cross Body Kickbacks. My bis are feeling a bit trembly, even though I rested for about 10-15 minutes between barbell and dumbbell curls.
Here are my thoughts: Since my left side is weaker I do the test with my right hand wherever there's a single arm exercise involved so during STS my left side will catch up. Also, you can test the same body part in two exercises if you use a different arm for each exercise. So there's a significant cut on the amount of exercises you have to test!!!
I believe that wide, narrow or parallel grip barbell curls for biceps would turn up to be the same weight during test, because although they might work different heads of the biceps the muscles would be able to lift the same weight in all positions. Does that make sense? So, here's another few exercises cut from the test.
I also had a look at the STS Blog updates, and the photos really helped. Have a look at them to make sure you use the proper form and stance during testing.
Still, it would mean a great deal if Cathe or SNM would clarify the "obscure" exercises, for example Seated Concentration Curls 1.5's, Reverse Dumbbell Curl, Standing Quarter Stop Curls...
That's it for today; tomorrow I'm planning on testing back and triceps again. I will test chest once I get the barbell stands.
BTW did you manage to download and open the zipped files I posted? I am thinking of reviewing the files and adding fields for Meso #, Week # and Type of Weight Workout.
What do you think? Would it help more?
Chris.
