Too Much Off the Beat, Not for Me

Cathe, thank you so much for responding to this! Your explanation makes perfect sense for Hiit workouts, and I agree that it would be very choppy if the music sped up and slowed down repeatedly within the same song. I think what makes all the off-the-beat moves a little confusing for me, is...

HiiT Circuit UB is Mmm, Mmm, Good!

I also had an "incident" with the butt kicks, although my pants didn't fall down! My insulin pump (which usually stays securely clipped to my waist band) came flying off on the 10th butt kick. Thankfully I caught it in mid-air so it didn't pull the infusion set out from under my skin! This...

Heart Rate Question for Cardio & HIIT workouts

I'm curious to see what kind of responses you get to this. I have the same issue (although I'm a few years older than you). I never wore a heart rate monitor until the past couple months, and I was shocked to see that mine often goes up into the 160s-170s and stays there during most of Cathe's...

Did my first unassisted chin up!!

Thanks everyone. It was quite an exciting accomplishment for me. :) In the past year I really got serious about it. At the beginning of each of my strength training workouts I would do a set of 5 negative chin ups. As I got stronger, I would start out with just trying to pull myself up as...

Did my first unassisted chin up!!

Ok, so none of my friends really understand my fitness obsession, so I had to come share this here. :) I have been a scrawny little weakling my entire life. I have been working on trying to do unassisted chin ups for probably 4 years now. At first I couldn't even pull myself up an inch! I...

What model heavy bag are you using?

It doesn't really "roll" but it does kind of "scoot" across the floor. Even with just the water in there, I have to squat down and push on the base and scoot it just a couple of inches at a time. Of course I am a weakling, so you might be able to move it much easier than I can!

What model heavy bag are you using?

I have this same bag. I keep mine in the corner of the room and drag it out as you plan to do. It is kind of difficult to move, but that part counts as exercise too! You can fill the bottom with either sand or water, which would make a difference in how heavy it is. I use water, otherwise I...

Best Motivational compliment you have ever had ?

I love this thread! My favorite compliment was one I overheard at the gym a few weeks ago. I was doing overhead presses and I heard one teenage girl whisper to the other "Look at the muscles in her shoulders! I want my shoulders to look like that!" Not only did it feel good to hear that...

    digital food scale/heart rate monitor

I recently bought this food scale from Bed Bath & Beyond and really like it! It comes with a pretty comprehensive list of foods and you just key in the code and will calculate the nutrition facts for you. It comes in very handy for fruit, veggies, etc. Digital Nutrition Scale - Bed Bath &...

    Questions for Cathe

Rockout Knockout Hi Cathe! My question is about the Rockout Knockout workout you will be filming. I was wondering if you were considering adding a bonus heavy bag section to this workout? Maybe more tabatas with both kicking and punching drills? There was a thread about this over in the new...

FeelFitWear - A couple of questions

Haha! Me too. Glad to find someone else who is proud to be small up top. :) I don't think you will be disappointed with the tanks. I have a couple of the Adriana tanks and Motion tanks as well as the new Forma tank. They are all compression tanks and fit me just fine. As the others have...

    Cathe RT, NJ

Renee you should definitely try to go if you can. I went last year for the first time. I was scared to death since I am somewhat introverted, plus I had to travel from Washington state. I had an absolute blast. It was probably a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me, but I am so glad I did...

    Hard Strikes Heavy Bag Tabatas!!

So I just did this today for the second time. I do the Hard Strikes workout as is and then add on the 3 heavy bag tabatas. It brings the workout to about 1 hour which is perfect for me. I think this is the closest to a "true" tabata workout that I have ever gotten. In the tabatas in...

    Hard Strikes Heavy Bag Tabatas!!

Haha! I'm a pretty non-violent person too. In fact most people that know me would probably find it amusing to think of me using a punching bag!

    Hard Strikes Heavy Bag Tabatas!!

Ok, so I don't post all that often, but I just finished the Hard Strikes premix that adds on the 3 heavy bag tabatas. It is awesome! For those of you that don't have a heavy bag and boxing gloves, I think it's worth getting one just for this! There is just nothing more satisfying than...

    Feel Fit Wear Capri Sizing

I do usually go up a size in the tanks too. But like Jennifer said, the sports bras are more true to size. Of course I'm itty bitty on top (32-34A), so the smalls work best for me there. With most of the tanks I have been very glad I ordered a medium. The Jolie tank (the one Jai and...
