weighted/boxing gloves and heavy bag question

Which ones did you get? I'm looking for new ones. I have the ones from Valor (I think that's the manufacturer) and they are ok but bruise my knuckles. Also don't give much wrist support, which I've found is a good idea for weighted gloves.

    Upper Body Workouts Like PUB?

I suspect I'm not the only one who has to pause their DVD to change the plates on their BB. I'm not as skilled as Cathe at pulling those BB clamps on and off, and removing/adding plates!

    KCM - Your Best Body

At Clare's recommendation, I purchased this DVD last month and today, I decided to try it for the first time. I did PM#1 (includes cardio segments with workout #1). Really enjoyed it, particularly the exercises that were new (to me). Loved the chest section---all standing exercises---and the...

    Upper Body Workouts Like PUB?

I would like to see another pyramid workout--upper and lower body--but done at a slower pace and with maybe different exercises. Not a PUB/PLB part two but a new one. .

    Anybody else....

I've used the same motivational tool---getting a couple new workouts. Collage has(d) the Brooklyn Bridge Workout (I think that's the title) for under $10 yesterday. Original price was $35 or something ridiculous. So I previewed it and figured, for less than ten bucks, why not give it a shot...

Tracie Long fans--She is filming again!!

It's great that she's doing a workout for seniors. From the short clip, the one targeted for "moms nearing 50" doesn't interest me (altho I'm just over 50, my only children have had four legs, furry faces, and tails, so I'm really not part of the intended demographic, anyway---haha!!!). That...

    Leg workout

A lot of folks have found the plyo leg workouts in STS to work well. Also Cardio Leg Blast for XTrain is great. Or you might consider combining a plyo-focused leg workout with a barre workout. Several of Cathe's DVDs have bonus barre segments that you could tack on at the end of a regular leg...

    Premix missing?

I can't answer your question, Renee. For Tabatacise, I think the most difficult segment in #1, though. Zenara is correct, as Cathe mentions that #3 is the "easiest" (relatively speaking, of course).

    Party Rocking Step#2

Hi, thanks for the tips. That's the way I usually learn a new step tape (the tack-on a combo from the new one at the end of a regular w/o.) :-) Great minds think alike. I've already mastered the 73 minutes premix in PRS#2, which is why I asked whether that would help me with PSR#1. I'm not...

    Party Rocking Step#2

I agree, that 73 minutes, 10-combo premix is excellent. A question for those who have done it and mastered PRS#1---does it make learning PRS#1 easier? I haven't had the guts to take out PRS#1 yet. I've been working on learning IMAX 3. I got most of the combos down but tried the entire thing...

    Pyramid II (sort of)

I love this idea. Traditional exercises, too (please, nothing on the stability ball). For LB, offer both a regular heavy weight workout and a plyo workout. She could incorporate this into a STS program... (am I greedy or what?) Cathe could compliment this with cardio workouts using the same...

    I've been benched

Kim---Try to think long-term. You're taking one week off. It's only a week. If you didn't respect your injury, you might end up not being to workout for several weeks or longer. In the mean, try to ENJOY the rest time. I had been sidelined before with injuries and understand the frustration.

Treat days! (not to be confused with "cheat days!")

I don't think that treating yourself once a week requires that you try to "offset" the increased caloric intake, particularly if you eat healthy and exercising the rest of the week. :)

    CABIN FEVER

I've been tempted to get one of those "light wake up" alarm clocks..... But then again, I always wake up before the alarm because it scares the bejezus out of me. haha!

    CABIN FEVER

Every one hunker down! This winter has been a tough one for us in the Mid-Atlantic (I'm in DC) and guess what, we are already under a Winter Storm Watch for Wednesday nite into Thursday. I'm pretty sure it's going to be an East Coast event. I'm sorry to hear about folks who lost their power...

    Disc jacks

If you are on carpet, put some Pledge on the disks to make them more slippery. Be careful, though. I tend to over-apply and a couple times, I took a tumble when the disk slipped away from me. Happened while doing the cross country skiing, not jacks. Luckily, I was taken by surprise, didn't...

    Foam Rollers?

I wish someone would put out a good foam roller DVD---not a "workout" focused one, but one that gives you a self-massage session, with lots of pointers.

More split program - 6DS Concept;-)

It's a great idea. :) I would buy it. What would make it perfection is having a couple plyo leg workouts included, along the lines of my favorite Cardio Leg Blast! Some low impact HiiT segments included, too, to give the joints a break and to make the series accessible to those...

    Best DVD for correct form?

Firemedic is correct---Slow & Heavy has a lot of form pointers, as does Power Hour. I have to admit that I don't do the 10 degree tilt in SH---it does not work for me. The STS series also has form pointers, if I recall correctly.
