    Pure Strength II - ?

I just revisited the Pure Strength series this past week. I used it a lot when I was pregnant as I could modify and she doesn't do as many reps. I think the Gym Style series is better, though - heavier weight, more reps, etc. And the band does add a nice new feeling to muscle work. But I think...

    Kickmax Premixes

I have done Kickmax several times and now want to tackle the premixes to see if I want to add them into my rotation. How do they measure up to the regular version? Which one is hardest, easiest? And can you give a description of what's in each premix? I don't have a lot of time nowadays to...

    Favorite Circuit Workout?

My favorites are: High Step Training - fun, always feel fully worked out after (especially the legs) Bootcamp - challenging and fun, workout seems to go fast Cardio & Weights - fun, when I want more cardio and lighter weight Circuit Max - also do when I want more cardio & light weight and...

    favorite step

I've gotta place votes for RS and Low Max. Both are fun and I think have lasting power (won't get bored or tired doing). I like the choreography better in RS than SB (but when I want a little more intensity - step w/ intervals - I do SB). Low Max is great for the legs. Diana

    HSTA...I loved it!!!!

This is a great workout! I think it flows great and is a lot of fun to do. I'm especially partial to it because it helped whip me back into shape after I had my baby last year. Diana

    Unscented detergents, soaps, etc.

I do use Dreft. The thing with the free and clear stuff you have to careful of is though they are marketed as "free and clear" of dyes and fragrances, they are still LOADED with detergents. When washing clothes it's the detergents that will be left behind, especially if you have a washer that...

Ab hits? Should I order it?

I was one who avoided ordering Ab Hits for a long time but then it came in a package of dvd's I ordered to change over my old Cathe vids to dvd. It turns out that I'm using Ab Hits a lot more than I thought I would. It's nice to have a collection of all ab workouts at varying lengths and...

High Step Advanced & High Step Challenge

I like HST better than HSC. The choreography and segments flow better. I think the music is ok, too. Like RachelA, I always feel thoroughly worked out after doing it (love those leg presses!). I do think HSC is a little harder, though. But I enjoy doing HST better. I don't know what it is about...

    Weird pregnancy test

Unpasteurized soft and semi-soft cheeses may carry listeria bacteria. Cheeses made in the United States must be made from pasteurized milk so those are ok. Pasteurization kills the listeria organism. Imported cheeses usually aren't pasteurized. Listeria is not found in hard cheeses such as...

    Protocol for over 40 mothers

Hi Peachy - I didn't realize they stepped it up quite so much past 40. Considering the higher risks associated with pregnancy past 40 it doesn't surprise me too much. We'd like to try for #2 soon and if I were to get pregnant before next May, I would be 40 when he/she arrives. With my first...

    first trimester fatigue

Congratulations on your pregnancy! You are not making excuses. Fatigue is common in the first trimester so definitely rest when your body tells you to rest and like Yolanda said, don't feel guilty about it.

    crib bumpers

My daughter's crib has a bumper and we've had no problems with it. She was in a co-sleeper in our room for her first 4 months before we moved her to the crib so she was a little bigger. We made sure it was not a fluffy bumper and that it's tied securely and properly so it doesn't flop into the...

    Am I a sentimental crackpot?

I once had a Ford Escort with 137,000 miles on it. It was such a good car, so reliable. I felt kind of bad when I traded it in as there was nothing wrong with it. It would've still kept going, I'm sure. But I wanted a Mustang, which I got, a strawberry red one. Again, it's been a great car. Now...

    Postpartum fat loss

Jennifer, Yes, I did have to restrict my calories when I got to 9lbs to goal weight. That was my plateau. And an annoying one at that. I hovered at that for about 2-3 months. I do eat healthy (but admittingly do eat more sweets than I probably should!). So I went on weight watchers to better...

    Postpartum fat loss

Hi Jennifer - Congratulations on your new baby. I'm physically stronger now after having one baby (who turns 1 next week) than I was before getting pregnant. And I reached my goal weight the day after my daughter turned 9 months old. I'm working out about the same as I did, 5-6 days a week (I'm...

    Stretch Max review

Stretch Max to me is just simple, easy stretching. I do pure Yoga (60-90 minutes in one session) when I need something more intense. There really isn't any groundbreaking new kinds of stretches in Stretch Max, pretty much the basics. It's not intended to be a workout where you sweat. It's great...
