    Slide & Glide

I just did this one and let me give a word of caution - do not attempt it the day after Lower Body Trisets. Ow! It is a nice workout - a little tricky but it will get easier with practice. I liked the burpees with the gliders -as much as you can like a burpee :p and I thought the plank...

    Packaging of LIS

I, too, really like the packaging and how all the times and equipment needed for each workout is listed on the back. And all my Cathe workouts still fit on one shelf! (Granted, it is a long shelf......)

Unfortunate news for our Chicago Road Trip

You do know that Minneapolis is not too far away and is beautiful in the fall! ;) Looking forward to Chicago whenever the road trip happens.

    2-day Weight Split + Circuits

Thank you for posting this! The snow is starting to melt and soon I will be running more (I can only run so much on the treadmill so in the winter I do a lot more step and kickboxing). This looks like a good rotation to shake things up this spring. I will definitely try it.

    Think you know your Microsoft?

I got 8 correct out of 15 on the Word test and I used to (10 years ago) train people to use Word. Did you look at the test results achieved by other people? - no one got more than 12 right. I am not sure that this would be a good test for potential candidates. Better to have them sit down...

Where is your bookmark? (book thread)

In the kitchen, I am currently in the middle of Stones into Schools - the follow-up story of Three Cups of Tea by Greg Mortenson. In the living room, I am on the third chapter of At Home by Bill Bryson. I love Bill Bryson. I always have at least two books going at a time, although...

    Whatever happened to Charlene Prickett?

I used to do both Charlene Prickett's and Margaret Richards back in the 80's. I still have VHS tapes of some of the tv shows - terrible quality, but they were my first and I hate to throw them away. Charlene sells some of her DVD's on her website http://charleneprickett.com/ and Margaret has a...

    Free downloads of Microsoft Word

My brother is the tech guy for his company. They use http://www.openoffice.org/. When my old computer died, he put this on my new(er) computer. I can still open all my MS Office documents and the documents that I have created with Writer are easily opened by others using MS Word. Lori

    needing new total body workouts

My favorite is Power Hour (and I am so excited that Cathe is making another video like this!), but if you are after something of Cathe's that does not have too many reps, I would suggest Push/Pull and Supersets. I really like how Push/Pull alternates muscle groups so there is little down time...

    Aparently I'm a total workout snob. :(

Maybe you can find another type of class that challenges you in a different way, such as spinning and leave the weight work to Cathe? I struggled at our local Y to find a class that challenged me. I would come for the socialization and then go home and work out because the class seldom did...

    Empty Nest....

Susan, Allow me to grieve with you. My youngest just graduated college two weeks ago and got married last Friday. She and hubby are moving 1500 miles away next month for jobs. The other daughter lives 2000 miles away. We were packing up her room on Monday and after they left, the room...

    Greek Yogurt

We don't get the Fage brand here, but I have tried Oikos, Dannon and Yoplait nonfat plain Greek yogurts. I prefer the Oikos (I won't ever buy the Yoplait again) but I do like my yogurt a little tart. Sometimes, I will drizzle a little honey over it- yes, it is a sugar and yes, it adds a...

2010 Get Ready for Summer Rotation

Debbie, Thank you so much for this rotation. I have been trying to lose 3-4 pounds for my DD's wedding at the end of this month. I have done 3 weeks, subbing running for some of the cardio, and have lost 2.5 pounds already! Okay, so I am also eating a double serving of salad every night in...

Enablers! Recommendation needed from indoor cyclists, treadmill etc...users

I can comment only on the first DVD - Beach Trex. I got this to use with my bike when I got a trainer, but didn't like it for that. It moves at about 3.5-3.8 mph through the jungle and along the beach and that didn't seem to work with the speed I ride on the bike (I kept feeling like I should...

A complete Low Impact series please please please

Ditto! I,too, am fortunate so far but I'm getting closer to 50 every day and since I want to keep working out with you 'til I'm 80, I am going to have to dial it down one of these days. I would absolutely love a set like this.

I have both and do both fairly regularly, but I do PH twice as often as MIS. I just love getting in and out in an hour.

    If you won the lotto

First I would take at least 2 million to start a foundation that bought musical instruments for underprivileged children and helped keep music programs alive and well in schools. After that, I would buy each of our brothers and sisters a new car and finally, I would MOVE to a state that has...

    Bike Trainer Stand ?

I just purchased a CycleOps 2 Fluid Trainer about a month ago and I highly recommend it. I was in your position last year too, reading all the reviews and trying to decide until I became overwhelmed and didn't get anything. This year while in a nearby sports store, they had the CycleOps Mag...
