I am considering trying a few virtual workouts from these cycling (forward motion) scenery dvd workout programs.

Has anyone used these dvds?

If so, what has been your experience?

Are they fun, interesting, invigorating, and worthwhile?

In your opinion, which company puts out the best product?

Finally, which scenery selection is your favorite? Below is a random selection, there seem to be quite a few available.

Thanks,
I appreciate any help, guidance, thoughts, and input you have.

Seems like a great idea - the beachside one seems like my hiking trips to Northern Ontario, which is a magical place. The other ones were harder to tell with the images there.

One reviewer made the comment that it was a nice break from "Tour deBasement". Mine would be "Tour de Garage." Ugh.

I have been watching What Not to Wear while also listening to your mixes, Cardio Coach, or nothing. I am beginning to notice that half listening to Stacy and Clinton in the background is distracting me from a good workout. LOL! Not to mention the attention it takes off the workout to fast forward between commercials.

Now - if Coach Sean could put together an audio/scenic video version of his workouts with well timed hill runs and sprints - well - that would be perfect....at least for interval days.

Can you watch music videos? I find that heavy metal videos have a lot of originality to them. I listen to my own music while watching them sometimes while dancing.

I guess mine is "Tour de Skyscrapers"!

I can comment only on the first DVD - Beach Trex. I got this to use with my bike when I got a trainer, but didn't like it for that. It moves at about 3.5-3.8 mph through the jungle and along the beach and that didn't seem to work with the speed I ride on the bike (I kept feeling like I should be moving faster than I was through the jungle).

BUT when I moved over to the treadmill while watching, it was WONDERFUL. Now also take into account that I live in MN and I got the DVD in Jan so I really needed a virtual vacation. It was so pretty and green and the beach was so relaxing.....I did my stretching while the beach portion played and could have easily fallen asleep to the sound of the waves.

So, I would recommend it for treadmill walking and general relief from winter, but not for biking.

There are a few "On the Road" Spinervals workouts that are filmed outdoors - a truck follows Coach Troy along a route, Troy talks to you / coaches you throughout the ride, gear changes are specified, etc. So it "feels" like you are riding on Troy's wheel outdoors - they are pretty fun.

Lori Ann - Thanks for your review/feedback of BeachTrex, the mph is important information! I'll consider it for running on the treadmill.

Mspina - oh, yeah, Spinervals, I completely forgot about their productions - thanks for letting me know there are outdoor options.

Morningstar - Watching heavy metal videos while running...I wonder what would happen to my cadence!? LOL!

Thanks for you feedback. When I first started running on the treadmill I never thought I would reach a "dreadmill" phase, but - here I am! I want to feel like I am going somewhere.
