How's everyone doing on the meal plans?

RE: recipes, I think it's best to put it in as a custom food. If you put in the individual ingredients as a recipe, then you end up having all the ingredients added to your mealplan instead of a single line item. Here's what I plan to do for recipes. Create a recipe by adding the ingredients...

How's everyone doing on the meal plans?

I just got the monthly plan today to check it out. SparkPeople was my main site before. The NS has the following things that I really like that SP doesn't have: Complete breakdown of the day's nutritional values. SP doesn't have reports on each nutrient like NS does. Suggests foods that I...

    Nutrition Software first thoughts

Replying to myself again. I'm having quite a conversation. ;) I found a way to view the nutritional content of a single food item. It's a bit of a work-around, but it works. Search for the food you want to add. Choose it from the list. Then click the Custom Food tab. Set the serving size (ex...

    Nutrition Software first thoughts

Ok, replying to myself here. I figured out how to get custom foods into a recipe. I click on the Custom Foods. Then choose the food I want to add to my recipe. Then I choose the recipe to add the food to (or choose to create a new recipe). So changing my major suggestion to a minor one that...

    Nutrition Software first thoughts

    - It was easy to sign up. The first thing I did was log out of the forums. Then I went to my cookies in FireFox and deleted all cathe-related cookies. I returned to the forum and logged in. Then clicked Workout Manager. I was able to successfully complete the nutrition sign-up for a month by...

How's everyone doing on the meal plans?

Is the nutrition system stable now? When you want to go in and enter your meals, does it let you or are there days you can't get in? I know you get grades for different nutrients. I like that. But can you get actual reports of, say, how many mg of calcium you ate on a particular day? Thanks, April

    Learning how to run

Make sure to run outside sometimes. It's a different experience to run outdoors without the benefit of the treadmill control. :) April

Did HIS for the first time...

I really like HIS. It's one of my favorite of her step routines. It took me a few tries, but I really like it, even the blasts. For those having trouble with Combo 3, Cathe posted the breakdown awhile back. I printed it out and went through it slowly without the DVD and then sped up until...

    Learning how to run

I think Cardio Coach is a great motivator. You don't have to use a treadmill and you don't have to run the whole time. The whole thing with CC is perceived exertion and/or HR zones. If running puts you in your correct zone, run, otherwise walk in the correct zone. Coach Sean will talk you...

? For you runners: How do I prepare for a 10K?

For lower body weights, I was doing Cathe's 4DS Lower Body Premix once a week. I was doing upper body weights twice a week. Running twice a week and often doing an extra step cardio once a week (45 - 60 minutes), like Rhythmic Step. And a prolonged (20 min) stretch once a week. April

? For you runners: How do I prepare for a 10K?

I did my first 10k on the Fourth of July this year. :) For training, I ran twice a week, sometimes 3, but not generally more than that and never two days in a row. I used Cardio Coach Vol 3-6 when I ran. I ran in the heat of the day when I ran outside so I'd get heat training. A week before the...

Need some adive from Cathe Fans:o)

I'll throw in my 2 cents worth. Check out Cathe's beginner rotation. That will give you some good ideas for buying some of her DVDs and how to arrange them for results. http://www.thecathenation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=236223 Also, make heavy use of the preview clips on...

I need some input on 4-day split...

I bought 4DS for the 2 step workouts. I was really wanting new step from Cathe, so went ahead and bought for those only. And ended up hooked on heavier weights. I have logged over 50 hours using this series and have enjoyed it all. Bootcamp is my least favorite segment, but it's still a good...

    Equipment Needed for STS

You have more than I do and I pre-ordered. ;) I use my (non-club) step as my weight bench. I have BB and DB and bands. I think that will be plenty. Anything that I can't do (like chin-ups), I'll just sub, but I don't think I'll have to sub a whole lot. Oh, I do have a 20# weight belt that I...
