    Music

I could not agree more that the music for the Step Boss series was really bad. It had no joy or bouncy-ness. It was more "noise" and reminded me of New Orleans Zydeco music. Ick. I've been buying Cathe's videos for 20 years and this one was a huge dud to me!

Which of these Cathe dvds do you prefer?

Definitely IMAX 2 and Step Blast. They both have the best music of any Cathe video, period. Rythmic Step seemed very dated to me and the music was bad. I actually liked the MIC music, but the workout seems a little dated now.

    Just a comment about music

Ahhh, the perennial music question. Over the years, many people have expressed dislike for the post-Intensity and Body Blast series music. Other people are less picky and seem to like pretty much anything Cathe puts out. I really dislike the music in the 4DS and think the music is getting...

    Music for new videos

Cathe, I first have to say that your video production, choreography, set, and lighting are heads above all other fitness videos. I even like that you have 4 background exercisers who have coordinating outfits; it's really effective and visually pleasing. You have blown away the competition and...

    Music

Cathe, Yet another vote for better music for upcoming videos. Your music in the Body Blast series was the highest quality and is GREAT! Step Blast has a perfect combination of nice, bouncy music and motivational song changes at just the right time. The volume is perfect - perfectly matched...

need help in finding a pure weights video

If you are truly not interested in step, I would recommend buying a weight bench. They are about $50 at Wal-Mart or a sports store. They can be more versatile than a step because you are not so close to the ground and therefore you can lie on the bench on your stomach for various exercises...

Difference between Muscular Endurance and Strength Trai...

Cathe--In your videos you either work muscles longer (which you call muscle endurance training) or harder (which you call strength training). What is the difference between the two methods? I am not sure I see the value in endurance training and I have never read anything that shows the...

    Chest exercises hurt shoulder

I looked briefly through my files and can't find an identifiable source for the recommendation not to do flyes on a flat bench. I think I might have first learned of the flyes-issue in my Human Biomechanics class. Basically, the theory is that your shoulder experiences so much torque during...

    One body part per day

I vote for more strength, rather than endurance, training too. I disagree, though, that one body part per day is particularly desirable. I think research states that you should work out each body part 2-3 times per week in order to make progress. In order to maintain your strength gains, as...

    Moves for your new workouts..

Cathe- I, for one, would like the new tapes to be "carpet ready". I find that lots of the cardio moves are done so quickly that moving on carpet is difficult. Maybe a few dry runs on a carpet while creating the choreography would help...

    Chest exercises hurt shoulder

Another recommendation to add to the list for shoulder pain is to do presses on a decline bench, rather than on a flat bench. You are probably not a good candidate to do flyes on a flat bench either, but most experts no longer recommend doing flyes on a flat bench anyway. Hope you feel better.
