Ok - this laptop is on its SLOW cycle today....loading all the meeze's & smileys seem to be cutting off various parts of posts...I dont think I'll be around much today just because its gets really frustrating on dialup.

Sandra & Gang...I have no strong feeling either way about a name change... If it does change can we just keep it short tho? ;-) I dont want to have to overthink in the wee hrs of morn'!:+

Great weekend to all who are around and/or lurking...

Hi all,

I have no problem changing the name. I'm actually leaning more towards changing the name. To what though, I have no idea.

Today is some sort of light leg weight work and a little cardio, then I'll probably take the dogs for a walk and do some yoga. I'm supposed to meet my Mom and Dad for lunch today. FIl was not doing well last night and I don't think any better this am.

I'll catch up with some personals in a bit. I need to get this homework for class done and it's a perfect time because no one is up.

I'll bbl,

Tracy

PS: Wendy those shoes are cute, but I'm like Jeanette, give me some Birkenstocks anytime. Actually, I just found Keen, and DS said they were ugly. I don't care, they feel great on my feet. for me it's about comfort.

Good morning. Whew. Just finished S&H triceps and biceps, oh and abs. I have so many DOMS today, but it feels good. I finished cleaning the house yesterday, thank goodness and today I just need to clean the clothes and pack up for our overnight tomorrow since we are leaving early.

I also do not have a problem changing the name.

Traci - Have a great time at the bay.

Tracy - So sorry to hear about FIL. It is always tough. Good luck with your workout and homework.

Time for coffee. I will try and bbl. If not, everyone have a fantastic weekend.

Lea

Morning,
Today was a timesaver premix for standing legs and stability ball abs from Butts & Guts. Was good. Love the firewalkers.

No problem changing the name at all. I was thinking about that the other day. It'll be a long time before I pull out P90X again, sorry to say. I just have a dread about it. Too many more that I enjoy.

Traci, so frustrating with the dialup. Would not want to go back to that again. Hope you have a nice relaxing time at the Bay with all your boys.

Tracy, enjoy your lunch date with your parents. Sorry about your FIL's condition. Is such a tough time.

Lea, have a great time at Sea World.

Will check back in a few...

Jeanette

My goodness....I leave for 2 days and now our name is changing?? Are you guys trying to hide from me???? LOL!

Let's see...DD and I are having a lovely time here in sunny SC. We went to a great sushi restaurant yesterday for lunch...and then did some shopping. Last night we went to a fabulous Mexican style restaurant....I had a seafood burrito with crab, shrimp and lobster. Yummo!!! I also had some roasted corn on the cob that was out of this world! I guess you can tell that I am eating my way through Charleston. I think we are going to head to the beach later today. I think the major wind has died down...and it is supposed to be in the low 70's...so it should be nice. We have a neighborhood cocktail party to go to tonight...and Then we are heading to downtown Charleston tomorrow for shopping and food.

Sandra....I am certainly in with you for a name change...I am sure if you put your creative juices to work you will think of something great....Just send me an email before you change it so I will know who to look for on the forums!! I am all about name changes...Can I get back my maiden name sometime soon, too??

Traci...Have a wonderful weekend at the bay!!!

Tracy...Have fun with the 'rents...Sorry to hear that FIL is not doing well. How are you feeling? I haven't kept up with every post, but I have gathered that you have been in some pain...Hope you are doing better. Back to reality on Monday for us, I guess.

Lea...Have a great weekend...How is lifting heavy treating you?? I know it has been a while since you have done that because of your back. Hope you are staying healthy!

Jeanette...I know what you mean about he X...It gives great results, but there is a dread factor. I will have to get eh 10 minute trainers, though...I think I can take Tony in small doses like that!! Gotta love those firewalkers....they will trim those hips!!! What are your big plans for the weekend??? Bike rides and golf, I hope.

I guess I am going to run for now...Hope everyone else is doing well! Happy Easter to all....hope the Easter Bunny is good to everyone...lots of eggs and chocolate...which now that I type it sounds pretty disgusting....but I guess DD will like it!

Debra,
Glad you popped in, I've been wondering how your trip is going. Sounds like you are having lots of fun and enjoying yourself. Love the new Meez! Will have to look for the Snapple water. I love Snapple tea. That seafood burrito sounds sooooooooo good to me!!! LOL about the name change. Kind of like when you are on vacation from work, you come back and they've moved your desk to another office. Enjoy your beach time today and Happy Easter to you and your DD!

Jeanette

Good morning all, sorry I went MIA the last few days. Just seemed to be a crazy week with DH's family in from out of town for his grandfather's funeral, volunteer meetings, busy work week etc. I ended up take two rest days which is unlike me I took my birthday and then last night because I was just tired and very grumpy .x( I'll finish off week 11 today and then I only have one more week (besides the last recovery week) of P90X.

I did order the high topper and slanted risers from cathe.com as my birthday gift. I'm fine with a name change, as I'm almost done with the X and honestly I don't see myself having the patience to do it all over again.

Jeanette- That's great that you may have a new riding buddy soon. Is your neighbour an experienced bike rider? The Osmonds are next week but today I get to go see the Hannah Montana movie, LOL Hope your sister had a good birthday! Glad that you had such a nice bike ride yesterday!

Traci- Not a lot of phone calls on my birthday because I had dinner with my family the night before and DH'a family was wrapped up with the funeral. The girls at work brought stuff to make ice cream sundaes at lunch which was lots of fun! Did everyone survive the storm. My old doggie is deaf now so the summer thunderstorms don't bother her much anymore.
Sorry to hear that you're burnt out. I would think that having fitness as a job maybe makes it less fun as a hobby??
Have a good weekend away!!

we have one more week till Spring Break, I took the whole week off work Yippee! We do have a hotel booked for 2 days across the border for some USA shopping but DH can't take the time off work now. I haven't cancelled the reservation though, I'm still hoping to find someone to go with me. I don't want to go alone with the kids.

Debra how is the knee? Hope you're having a great vacation!

Sandra- I'm with you on being tired of following a rotation. I miss the variety in workouts. I'm going to finish the P90X rotation and then do something else.

Wendy- I'm so glad thatyour mom is feeling better. My understanding (and I'm definitely no expert) is that fraternal twins are genetic but not identical. A woman producing two seperate eggs is what is genetic. (oops, I just saw that Sandra already answered that question) Your twin girls sound darling! My mom always said that once we were out of the diaper/bottle stage raising multiples was easier than singletons in lots of ways. We also had our own little "language"

I love spicy food but I don't think I've ever had Thai food before.

Laurie you are doing great at getting your runs in! Do you every run in races?? WTG on shaving your time! Congrats to your dd on her track meet. The frog cupcakes sound cute! Enjoy your trip!

Nicole Oh no, I just read your post about you and DH not talking to each other. I hope you're okay! How did the painting go?

Tracy Ouch on the muscle spasms, is it better? I'm a Survivor and Biggest Loser fan. I've been doind YogaX while watching the biggest loser and Kenpo X while watching Survivor. I just put the workouts in a portable dvd on top or beside the big tv and then turn only the cues on. Works well and makes the workout go much faster.

;) ;) Good luck with the homework today!

Lea Have fun at SeaWorld! I love Seaworld, Disney parks, things like that.

Off to workout and then to the Hannah Montana movie
Kim

LITERALLY reading beween the lines (dern 'puter) but it appears that a name change will do us all good! Fresh perspective, new beginnings & all!

OK SANDRA.....Time to get busy & find us some SHORT names! lol

Also 1 request....If its hard to spell I'm screwed! That pentage....throws me every time... OK- So I guess we-YOU are looking for a 1 syllable first grade word! :+ :+ :+

This will be FUN FUN FUN.....

Tracy...My thoughts are with you & your family today...
LEA....YOU ROCK!
Debra...GO PLAY- I SO wanna eat my way thru a city!
Kim....Glad youre back
Jeanette...YOU ROCK TOO!
Hope I didnt miss anyone today...Going on memory & only 3 cups of coffee

I didnt bring any DVDs so if I get a burnin' desire to w/o it will be VHS/Gilad! roflmao!

Off for a beach walk w/ hubby.....

Good morning!

Well, here I expected a quiet group, and you've all been chatting away. I swear some days I feel like the dance partner who has her own beat. Kind of like Elaine.

Oh, I'm so glad everyone's on board with the name change idea! How about The Daily Check in? Oh wait, that's already been taken LOL! How about "THE Check In?" We can eventually shorten it to "THE" and annoy everyone who peruses the check in board. Okay, so my creative juices are stalled today. Talk to me 4 days before my period. I'll be ready to rename all the check ins then.

Kim....I sucked it up and paid a stupid amount of money for the high step, about 5 years ago. The UPS brokerage fee almost gave me a heart attack - around $40. Regardless, I'm really happy I bought it. If you do a lot of Cathe's leg workouts, it's a really useful piece of equipment. And it makes a terrific all-purpose, adjustable height, sturdy stool for doing other things. I might get those slanted risers eventually. You're on your last week!!!! Wooohoo!!!! So close to being done!

Traci....I'm surprised to see you persevering with that dial up modem. Thanks for taking the time to pop in and add some cheeriness to our day! Is "The" short enough for you? :)

Tracy....Enjoy your lunch with your parents. Do you go to a restaurant? I hope the situation with FIL doesn't cause your weekend to go south.

Lea....Sea World! Have a greeeat time!

Jeanette....I love/hate those firewalkers too. I think it's the music that she uses during them that helps. It's very suitable.

Debra....You're cracking me up. LOVE the new Meez! And we wouldn't move house while our girl's at school. We'll make sure you see us. You sound like you're having a terrific time with your friend.

Okay, I think I'm going to go do SJP. Or maybe the entire Advanced Step Challenge I, from Amy B. I should probably do the latter, because I'm trying to avoid weight work for a full week. It's hard to stay away from the iron, I tell ya. I must be magnetized. Oh! Maybe I'll do Amy's Hi/Lo Extreme. Dang, it's hard to choose. I want to do step because I just did Cardio Kicks on Weds. Oh well, you'll all just have to check back later to see what I finally decided. It IS all about me today :+ :+ :+

Cheers,
Sandra

GS Legs

I'm with Debra, I leave for two days and we're changing our name. I'm glad I popped in or I may have started thinking you were all hiding from me;) Name change sounds fine with me. I will keep checking to keep up on the name change:D

I am, believe it or not, painting again todayx( I hope by the end of the weekend to be all done and back to normal. I have to paint the closet, doors and trim. With three boys all of the white in the house is a bit worse for the wear.

Miss chatting with you all:*

Nicole

Packing with spinal DOMS is a workout in itself!

I think a name change is a good idea.... to what, I have no idea.

I've got so much to do today. I'll try to get back online before we leave for personals.

Ballistic Hugs!!!
Wendy

Hi/Lo Extreme won out. My HRM went all funky and shot up to 113%!! I know I wasn't having a heart attack or even working close to that hard. It wouldn't budge from that number no matter how much I wiggled the chest strap, so finally I took it off. Maybe I need a new battery?

Nicole....Happy painting. If those fumes offer you inspiration, maybe you can think of a new name for us? DH is building a couple of shelves for the play area in the basement, and he's got DD#1 painting the boards. It's good when they get old enough to be useful :)

Wendy....Happy packing. You seem to go away every weekend. Are you all thumbs again until Monday or Tuesday?

I think we should usurp the initials STS in our name, right now, before others try to take them in a couple of months. It could stand for anything (Shoot The Sh$t, for example. That's a phrase I've heard used for people who just like to chat. That sounds like us :) ).

Cheers,
Sandra

Sandra - So far I like Shoot the S*#t. But, I am vulger like that}( .
Good thinking there girl. You are the brains of this operation.

Lea

Hi all,

I'm surprised to see there are a few people around today. I like Shoot the Sh*&, although I'm not sure how that would go over. I probably am not a good person to decide on a name because our dog's names are terrible.

I did PLB pyramid up then pyramid down, then LIC from 4ds. It was a nice workout and I'll go for a walk later. I didn't want to do all of those reps in a row, so that split it up a little.

Does anyone have Verizon Fios (fiber optic)? They just ran it down our street. I'm trying to decide whether to switch or not.

Lunch was good. I got then mundane salmon salad.

Jeanette - Glad you had a nice ride and it cheered you up. We keep getting teased here, but in the end, winter is still here.

Sandra - I almost did an Amy the other day, then decided against the impact for another few days. We should be getting the new ones soon. Did you preorder?

Traci - I guess the dial up is an unpleasant reminder of how slow things can be. I don't know what I'd do if we didn't have high speed.

Off to do something sort of constructive.

Tracy

Okay, I'll do Kenpo tomorrow along with XStretch. I just finished Butts and Gutts minus the core work and bonus legs and stability ball workouts. I didn't use the barbell for the standing leg portion. Instead, I grabbed two 35 pound weights for dead lifts. WTHeck! I'm losing it! After a round of 70 pounds, I quickly fished out my 20 pound dumbbells from under the couch. Needless to say, I'm feeling a little shaky. Drinking my pear/ginger smoothie.

Ginger/Pear Smoothie Verdict: Drinkable. The taste is good. The texture is nasty with little bits of pear and ginger floating around green liquid. It's much better made with ice.

You know with this clean eating, I haven't lost any weight. Yeah, it could have been the banana chocolate chip muffins and brownies.:7 I'm taking the P90X nutrition plan along with me this weekend. Maybe, there will be something in there that will tempt me. I'll consider upping my protein intake and lowering my carbs. Maybe, we'll see.

Traci: I'm trying not to look at my legs. I say you should stop looking at yours too!!! Let us focus on the positives in our life... like the retreat!!!! :) We love you for your mind, not your legs!!! You know, I really like that shade of green outfits on the blog. It goes perfectly with the set colors and lighting. I think Cathe made a good choice. The green pops without blinding. I have yet to try the paper plates on the floor for lunges. I wasn't and am not fond of them in P90X either. Isn't it something how we get used to faster internet connections. I hate using my Blackberry to surf the net. Half the time only part of the page is displayed. Very aggravating to the point that it's not even worth it. Did you work those glutes and calves during your beach walk? Remember, you've gotta work for it... Cathe is rubbing off on me.;-)

Tracy: LOL on your DS licking the plate to avoid eating another slice of cake. It's amazing how much influence we have as mothers. My kids interest in health has dramatically increased since I started working out. And, they've jumped on the ban fast food bandwagon too. Last week when I let the girls get Happy Meals at McDonalds, eldest dd had the runs. Her body must have gotten used to eating real foods. So, she's banned Happy Meals. :) You know, I thought those shoes would kill my feet too until I tried them on. I think the platform makes them look worse than they actually are. I was wearing shorter heels when we went shopping, and the shoes I bought felt better than the shorter heels! Anyhow, I had to get them when I saw dh's eyes light up when I tried them on.}( He's so easy!:7 I'm sorry to hear your FIL isn't doing well. Is your dh taking on less responsibility for his care these days?

Lea: It's so nice seeing you back at it again! I haven't gone through a rotation of S&H yet. Maybe one day. Have an awesome time at Seaworld! My boys loved going to the one in Ohio when they were younger.

Jeanette: We'll be feeling the firewalker DOMS together this weekend! I had to take a minibreak before I could do the bonus round. OUCHIE! I about died the other day when I read what the Captain wears while bike riding. OMW, he and the Skipper would get along just fine!!! In fact, one of the reasons I skipped out on power heated yoga last night was dh had a couple of beers at lunch with the guys. OMW! The week earlier, his pores were oozing alcohol during class. After I yelled at him for it, he admitted he had one too many last week. He's soooo bad!!!! I would love to go biking with you ladies, but my bike is sooo slow compared to a road bike. I'd have to work to my limit to keep up with ya'lls cruising speed. However, if you decide to retreat in Philly/Jersey, I could rent a road bike! In fact, if we ever do decide to meet up for a Cathe class retreat, we could all rent bikes from the local bike shop. That would be so fun!!! The heels are not too bad! In fact, I'll bring them along for you to play with on the retreat. ;-)

Debra: We would never try hiding from you! I am so happy for you! You just relax and have a grand ole time! Again, have a cocktail for me!!! Is CBL missing you already?

Kim: Nice to see you pop in! Whoo Hooo! The end is so close at hand! Have you decided what you will do with your time until STS is released? Yes, that is my understanding of twins too. But, I've always wondered if there is a connection between identical twins that science has yet to figure out. There are a few members of the local twins club with a history of identical twins having identical twins. It could be a random thing too. I've heard in-vitro doctors say that whenever they see a fertilized egg split in one of their patients, they say the egg looked to have a thinner wall. Maybe, it's Super Sperm:eek::7... Geez, that's exactly what dh would like to think! I remember being a hormonal MESS when I apparently got pregnant with the twins. I'm wondering if that has anything to do with the split. LOL

Sandra: What about the STS Watercooler? Is everyone on our check-in planning on doing the STS workouts? We could talk about them until we actually push play. Yes, I'll be all thumbs this weekend. I'll try to read as much as possible. I still haven't shopped for Easter baskets and plastic eggs. So, I'll be pretty busy this weekend. The babysitter had a turkey meatball sub last night. She liked it too. Amazing since that girl lives on processed foods. Yes, let me know how the orange glaze works with the salmon. I plan on making your wheat pizza dough next week. We have leftovers to take care of tonight.

Nicole: Believe it or not, the trim work took longer than the walls. Then again, we have wood paned windows. It was such a pain in the butt painting those!! But, it will be all worth it when it's done.

Laurie: Oh, does your dd not want to gain weight? Or does she want to avoid processed foods? A little icing won't hurt... according to me. :7 You're probably already at your parents house. Hope you are having a wonderful time!!! Oooo, did you see the wheat cracker recipe on OD? Looks like I may invest in a pasta maker. I can't wait till I mention that one to Phil. He's still wondering what I plan on doing with the 2 year old wheat flour in the pantry. Um... throwing it away and buying new flour. Ha-Ha

Well ladies, looks like I best tackle cleaning the kitchen.

Happy Easter to Everyone!!!

Ballistic Hugs to ALL!
Wendy

Of course, I like Shoot the Sh*t...but it may raise some eyebrows....Although, I say WTF??? Who cares?? Anyway, I did get a great mental image of Sandra dancing like Elaine!!! Wait...I meant Angelina dancing like Elaine!

Let's see....

Sharing how To Satisfy (lol)
Sticking Through Stress
Stalking The Scale
Setting The Standard
Success Through Sharing
Supposed To Step
Supporting The Sisters

Okay..that are all the 's' words I can come up with without my thesaurus.

Debra: Lovely choices. Did you take your thesaurus with you by any chance?:7 I like Supporting the Sisters. However, shouldn't that be spelled... Supporting the Sistahs :+

Guess who just walked in the door. Gotta go so he can slather me with :* :* :*

Wendy

Wonderful ideas, Debra!! I like Success Through Sharing, although Supporting the Sisters is also great.

And whatever we decide the initials stand for, I think Wendy's "STS Watercooler" is a nice combo.
