Work out time?????

What is the average time everyone is working out? My workouts come in at 45-55 minutes. I wish it could be longer but for some reason when I workout I'm constantly looking at the clock and when 45 minutes hits it's like I shut down. I guess it's because I feel like I have so many distractions. But I guess 45-55 minutes is better than nothing!

My work outs vary like crazy from as little as 20 mins to as much as 2 hours (split into 2 work outs)!!

I probably average an hour though which is fine with me.

Jess: Working out 45 minutes a day is great. Don't berate yourself for not going longer. You are doing just fine! :)

My workouts vary depending on the day and how many clients I have (and what time I have to train them). I usually get in around 90 minutes of working out, but not necessarily at the same time. I tend to have three schedules (two on weekdays, one on weekends):

Weekday one:
20-30 min cardio before first am client
20-30 min cardio after last am client
30-45 min weights in pm

Weekday two:
45-60 min cardio before first am client
45-60 min weights in pm

Weekend (depends on how I feel what I do first):
45-60 min cardio
45-60 min weights

This has definitely worked for me, but you have to figure out what works best for you! :)

My total comes in at about an hour and a half a day.

I do a workout DVD that is almost always an hour or an hour+, and then run 3 miles which takes me about a half hour.

Mine are also about 45 minutes. Some days a little longer, but not often.
For me, that gets the job done and anything longer is overkill. (and who needs that??? LOL!)

Steady state cardio for 45 min is all I can handle
Same for intervals
Circuits are hard for me to judge because of all the put the weight down, change the weight etc.

I could NEVER do 90 minutes.

I'm like Wendy. My workouts vary a lot. Yesterday I did the bootcamp premix from BM2 which clocked in at 78 minutes. Today's workout will be 30 minutes of HIIT. Most of my workouts are in the 45-60 minute range. I save the longer ones for the weekends when DH is home to take care of the kids:)

i'm overhauling my workouts now and i'm doing no more than 45 minutes of intense metabolic circuits every other day so that comes out to 4 days per week.

90-120 minutes 4 days a week
45 -90 minutes 2 days a week
actually upping M & W to shock my body with a 2nd evening 30-45 minute workout
everything I'm reading says to lose weight you need a minimum of 60 - 90 minutes of cardio 6x a week to lose! none of this 30 minutes 3x a week...then have to make time for weights, yoga, etc! Ick!

It depends for me too. Sometimes two hours, sometimes one hour a day, sometimes one hour in the a.m. & one hour in the p.m. I really add up the time weekly--it comes to about 10-12 hours per week.

I workout about 60-75 min daily unless I am really strapped for time. I have worked out as long as 90 consecutive also.

Now that I am late in pregnancy, it is more like 45-50 min, but still as intense as I can make it, considering. The type of workout I am doing makes a difference too. If just cardio, steady state for 45-60 min. If total body or intense cardio plus a body part - the longer times like 75-90 min.

nothing wrong with that

I did just 47 minutes this morning. Are you eating enough before hand? You may need more essential oils to power you through your wo.

I find it's more a mental game with me, so when I set up my workout area I purposfully FORGOT the clock and my DVD player does not have one either... SO, I can concentrate on the workout and not the clock! I will view how long the workout is on either the back of the case or if it is listed on the Premix screen, but other than that I have no idea when the workout will end until Cathe says "it's time for a nice stretch!"

I find that when I do steady state on the TM, even if I watch TV at the same time, I am a constant clock watcher and I run out of gas really quickly... moreso than on a DVD...

My suggestion is try to remove the clock and focus on your workouts and see if that helps any... :)

IMO the key is consistency & quality. I try to do SOMETHING every day.

I usually get in 4-5 days of "hardcore" workouts for 45-70 min. each (weights, cardio, yoga or intervals). Although, sometimes my cardio is only 30-40 min., depends. Then a day of a 1 - 1 1/2 hour walk (w/hills) thru my neighborhood and a recovery day of total body deep stretching or rest.

As long as you're fit and active, I think 45 min./day is great.

Well, that's just my $.02!

Mine are 30-45 minutes, though I'd prefer 45-60 minutes. Working on that! Personally, I wouldn't beat yourself up - you're exercising and LOTS of folks aren't!
