Why does my butt look like cottage cheese?

You can blame anyone you like--your mother, Sister Mary Whatever, even the Pope, but it doesn't change anything. I tried. It's still there.

Laura-
Your picture trail makes me want to say GOOD! At least your perfect body has 1 thing that makes me feel "normal"! Sorry girl- you get NO sympathy from me.... I'd give a kidney to have your body! Cottage Cheese Booty and all!:+

Laura,

your arms are ripped, stomach is flast, you dont have big legs or a big butt. I would love to have your body. what have you been doing as far as workouts to get your arms in such great shape? you are ripped to the core girl!

Has anyone read "the Butt Book" by Tosca Reno? I think it's a diet and excercise program to get rid of cellulite on your butt. I've thought about getting it as I've noticed (at 33) when the light hits my backside a certain way, it looks cottage cheesy. WTH? It doesn't stop there for me, It's also the front of my thighs. I HAVE to do legs twice a week to keep them looking better. I have a question, but I'm going to post it seperately....

I recently had a glimpse of my 21 year old model thin niece in a thong recently. And, to my delight, she had one little cottage cheese bump on her tush. I couldn't believe it because this girl is so petite, so naturally thin, we're talking Eva Longoria tiny.

Laura,
Enjoy worrying about cellulite for as long as you can. In 10 years, you're going to think cellulite is cute and adorable compared to the wrinkles, yes wrinkles, that will start to appear all over your body. The neck is the worst and the most visible, but there's also the knees and the tummy, and pretty much everything else. x(

Enjoy your plain cottage cheese before it turns into cottage cheese that looks like it spent too much time on a hanger in a New York apartment closet. :p

Did I mention that I'm having a bad PMS day? x(

You guys are cracking me up! I suppose it's just the loose skin from too much UV exposure. Young ladies out there beware--stay the heck out of the sun!

Laura, I can email you my routine if you want it. Probably if you have the equipment at home you can do the same arm routine I do at the gym. In fact I modified my bicep routine last week b/c I didn't have time to get to the gym & I was so sore the next day!

OK so there's really no solution to this other than a cosmetic procedure I can't afford. No miracle creams or pills. I guess I either need to learn to live w/it or never look at myself in the mirror from behind again. x(

I am just wondering for those that are trying to get rid of that cottage cheese look, do any of ya'll run? I can't say that I have ever seen a runner with this problem. Just curious.....

ITA ..

I heard the greatest quote the other day ..

"Beware that everything you gripe and fuss about your body in your 30's .. you will long for in your 40's " ...

LOL .. OOOHHHH so sad but SSSSSOOOOOOO TRUE!!!:7

Take it from someone who has done it...don't waste your money. The results are very temporary and they will try to sell you 10 more body wraps while you are there. Being wrapped up like a wet mummy and having to work out on an elliptical in full mummy regalia was not my idea of a fun Saturday afternoon.

I just thought of this the other day when I was in a mood ripping my body features apart. I thought...one day in the future I'm going to wish I look the way I do today.

Lauramax,

Use body oil everyday after showering with sweet almond oil as main ingredient. It helps the skin look more tone and tight. Massage a little more in the "cottage" areas. I had a woman tell me when she had to get massage therapy done as part of her physical therapy after an accident she had no cellulite.

Also, I hear rebounding is good for flushing toxins and reducing cellulite. Just a little each day is good. Disclaimer: all with a healthy diet of course.

Here's what I do.

I limit the amount of times I actually allow myself to look at my booty in the mirror-this is especially true in ANY department store dressing room!!
You can walk out of one of those "horror rooms" feeling like you have not worked out a day in your life! Yikes!

I also revel in the fact my DH loves my "buttskies" (don't ask!) and remind myself it could be worse.

Oh, and Victorias Secret makes super cute lace tanga-fuller cut and stretchy panties, that will make anyone's hiney look perky--I swear!:) Prance around in some of these and you will start feeling better, and then take a look at those abs and your incredible arms girl! You look awesome!!!:7

LOL!! What a riot to read these posts!! I had the cottage cheese even when I was 18 and anorexly thin (5'8" 105 lbs)!

I posted info about my Massage Therapist on a belly bulge thread, but he also helped my cellulite!! Don't let someone tell you its hoaky because it really worked on my butt. I used to feel like a 31 year old with 80 year old butt (not offense to any of you hot 80 year olds). Saggy and dimply. Cathe's lower body workouts (Especial B&G) helped the saggy and the MT did the rest. He did wonders for my stomach too!

Find a MT that knows their stuff and I bet they can help with the cellulite. Worth the try anyway... Much cheaper and safer then lipo!

.... for the record, I know a lot of marathon runners with cellulite. Even the thin ones. I think having better muscle and tone helps some. But it's a curse that pretty much hits us all!
