Who has mastered Butts & Guts?

Just wondering who out there can get through the length of this workout without struggling. When I did the "Rock Bottoms" rotation, I felt this workout got easier for me, but I haven't done it for a few weeks, and I really struggled to get through certain parts of it today.

For example, when you get to the 2nd half on the ball and do the side leg lifts - that was tough for me today!! It seems like such an easy exercise to do until you realize that you really are working both legs - even the supporting leg is working. Near the end there, my leg was dropping down to the floor as if it was filled with lead!

Then I really felt it while doing the "hydrant" moves at the end.

So, who out there has really mastered this workout? How many times do you do it a month/week?

I really loved the Rock Bottoms rotation, and I think I need to add more lower body workouts to my weekly routine.

Hi Melanie,

I think I did the whole thing through once - when I first got it. After that... just the premixes. the abs premix is pretty outstanding. otherwise... so long. but i love it.

i rarely do the whole thing. mostly do the Abs & floorwork premix, love that one! have only done the whole thing a couple times, but it is a killer!

I really love the bonus sections of B&G - either the abs section (15 minutes) or the abs section plus the three sets after it of sit-n-stands, step ups and glute lifts on the ball. All told, that's 25 minutes of intense LB work with its biggest focus on abs. I love those glute lifts laying on the ball - those get lower back and glutes and help address those little soft pads on the back of the waist that are my nemesis. I would have bought this workout for those sections alone. But to answer the original question, I've only done B&G all the way through a handful of times.

ohhhhhh!! one of my favorites!! Done it all the way through over and over again but I cannot say without struggling:D (yep those side leg lifts on the ball are a killer for me also! esp the second side). I also dont like the hammer punches? so would sub in some other bonus material. This a toughie and if you get good at it you can make it tougher again by going heavier. Love the ab section at the end. When I first got it , I did it once a week. It really helped me with my lower body:eek: Firewalkers! gotta luv em

Yeah - it really is a toughie. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who really feels those side leg lifts on the ball. The first time I did this workout, my groans of protest and disbelief at what Cathe was asking me to do made my hubby come in and check on me.

At least I don't groan anymore during the workout! I'll keep challenging myself with this workout and look forward to the day when I can get through it with a smile on my face just like Cathe & crew!!!

I just did this yesterday as part of the Rock Bottoms Rotation. I made it through until the bonus lower body. I just couldn't do anymore or I think I would vomit! Especially after coming off of the 30/30. The side leg lifts on the ball, I found myself growling at Cathe:)
