Who Cares? November : )

Hi everyone! Whoops I guess I never thought of it being a new month! See we do need to go to a yearly thread for us that are "forgetful". I haven't done much working out, just walking Suki for about an hour a day. So happy my foot/ankle is finally mostly back to normal....now I just feel the normal way it's always felt on side hills....this time I know why and what to be careful of! I did need some nice rest days!

Tracy, I think it was the tapatalk app not showing your long post, maybe you exceeded it's capabilities! Suki needs her teeth cleaned, waiting for the sale in Feb at my vet. What kind of puppy are you getting? How old was BB again? Guess he won't. be the baby anymore you might need a new nickname! I wouldn't say my place isn't clean, just messy....I blame it on being a creative person, lol! Funny thing is when my Dad passed his second wife (who stole him away from my Mom of 43 years....but that's a different story), anyway, the second encouraged him to write his memories. He had nice things to say about my brothers and sisters, and then he got to me and said "Lisa is messy". I couldn't believe she thought I'd like to see that, so I'm fulfilling my prophecy after that! I guess it was because by the time they got to me, they were mostly done with the military and. didn't get the military raising.

Ronne, so nice to see the pic of you and Jody on FB! I think everyone should come visit me and we can all go bike riding....I probably have enough bikes for everyone! lol! Beds probably too, but some may have to be a mattress on the floor....Mary should be used to that from her AirBNB experience :)

Jody, did your friend and you plan to meet up in London? Or was it an accidental meeting?

Somehow I think the type went italic, no idea how/why nor do I care to figure out why or if what I think I'm seeing is true :) For someone who spent their life programming computers, I really hate computers in retirement! Speaking of retirement, I think we are all set for DH to retire next spring. We've been working on things we need to do and running a doomsday scenario to see how we will fare, even with doomsday (ie. medical costs skyrocket) we shouldn't run out of money or if it was a ultra doomsday we run out of money at age 86 for me and 94 for DH. So I think we are going to retire to enjoy life, even if it's just life in Colorado...I seriously am not much of a traveler....could you tell? Retirement for DH can't come soon enough, I've been spoiled having him to myself when he took the week off at Tgiving and hasn't been working too much, but now next week he travels for work again, ugh! I miss that guy when he's gone for some reason!

Lisa - Glad to hear your foot/ankle is OK. It must be nice to be able to walk the dog again. How great that DH is going to join you in retirement. I'd be the same though, making sure that all the finances were in place, I don't want to be a poverty-stricken pensioner if I can avoid it!

Not a lot to report. The show last night was absolutely fantastic. We had great front row seats, could see everything really close-up. The acting/singing/dancing, set, music, everything was just superb.
Going to try and get some yoga done today, feel like I need a stretch out.
More shopping and Christmasy stuff this weekend probably. Have a good one everyone!

Lisa, how wonderful to be retired together!!! I think we have about 14 more years until that happens. One downside of having children in your 30’s. I bet you are so excited!

Tracey, so glad Thanksgiving went well. Cocktails help! Do you have everyone over for Christmas? We usually just do the visiting!

Well, DD’s school made a bowl game, she will be going to Boca Raton, now she won’t be home until December 22nd! I wish we could go down there, but DS has finals during that time and the other is coming home. Hopefully we will get to see her on tv! Hope everyone has a good weekend! Mary

Mary, they are going to be in Boca? OMG that is pretty close to me! Congrats to DD!

Ronne, the show sounds fabulous. My friend Kay's sister came into city for a show of some type as well, but Kay could only describe it as show tunes and didn't know the name. It would be funny if it was the same thing that you and mum went to see.

Tracy I should have taken notes b/c I meant to say something and its too far up thread!

Roxie hopefully the new workouts will grow on you.

Murphy I pretty much have myself to blame stuff laying around- no hubs. Good and bad I guess!

I can't begin to tell my adventures. I posted on FB a lot this time and will go back an add a little more in order to preserve and flesh out my memories. My local to FL Brit friend spontaneously was able to join me on my trip- she's a dancer friend with all the costumes, travels, and Burning Man festival artsy girl. So, this trip was far more wine and social intensive than museum intensive than intended. Let me put it this way, everyone is lucky they didn't get drunk texts from in the middle of night! We stayed at a hostel- me in a dorm type room. I will try to come up with my total spending figure. Just so you guys know, Ronne has set the bar quite high for my visits to your area! It was so very special to be in her home and meet her lovely family and have a great meal. Oxford is really beautiful and I love her whole family. Ronne, I pictured you on your path to town covered with snow yesterday! On Sat at 1030 we head out for a London Walks tour that included a trip on the Thames and featured the Brunel museum, had a late lunch in a pub w/ guide, hung out in pub til late making new FB friends, ended up roasting marshmallows at a fire pit and drinking hot rum toddys then got back to hostel in time to hang at party in the kitchen til midnight. I told this nice (also hung over a bit) guy on train next day that I felt guilty for not getting some touring in on Sun before departure. He laughed and said that was such and American thing- just relax! I hadn't read the Cathe forum; it was great to catch up. I appreciate our friendship here. BBL with a workout??

Jody - thank you!! Glad we could make your visit fun. I couldn't believe it when it snowed yesterday, after having told you it hardly ever snows in December down here! Sounds like you had a great day on Saturday.

Spent most of the day in the centre of town on Saturday. I had a training session in the morning (at the Ashmolean, Jody!) which was excellent and really interesting, about access to the museum for visually-impaired people. Then I met up with DD for lunch and shopping which took hours but we got everything done.
Took it easy yesterday, the snow helped as I certainly wasn't going anywhere! Did Circuit Blast for the fun. Then went out to a pop-up pub at the end of our road in the evening.
Xtrain Bis & Tris premix with abs done today.
 
Hi all, bike riding last 3 days, tomorrow I’m going snowshoeing. Jody, that Ronne, setting too high of a bar! Cleaning and cooking? Looks like you had a great time! Ronne, we haven’t even gotten any snow! It was weird seeing that Georgia and Texas had snow and here we are enjoying the weather! Mary, Dh flies to Columbus tomorrow, I get all your C towns mixed up but I’m guessing it’s not where you are.

Hi girls! Today did a Cathe live, yesterday did a kickboxing workout, Saturday a hiit workout.

Jody, sounds like you has so much fun! You got to meet Ronne ‘s whole family? How perfect!

Ronne, a pop up pub? I would love that, we have a brewery down the street, I’m not big on craft beer tho. If they had gin and tonics I would be set!

Roxie, have you tried the workouts yet? Maybe they will be better once you do them?

Lisa, we are supposed to get snow tonight. DS is hoping for a snow day! Columbus is about 2 hours away from us, I’m up by Lake Erie. Crazy they had all that snow down south!

No workout yesterday, surprise! Good News/ Bad News - I went in to work but on the wrong day so now I'm getting a great early start to see my mom and help her buy a new washer. Any recommendations? Mine sucks to be perfectly honest, a top loader HE. She's got an LG front loader which has been good. What would you buy?

Sorry about all the FB pics and posts. I was trying to keep better track of my trip this time plus being w/ my friend who is very social media active vs DD who prefers a much lower profile to say the least. Also it is helpful for my parents to be able to see my trip. I added some more pics from Oxford- Ronne you are in two even though I think you prefer the privacy so just two selfies of us.

If anyone wants to come visit me, don't worry, I will drop the bar again. You are all welcome, but it will be pretty lame! Our temps today are also cool 47/72 F (about 10/22 C) but no snow here!

No shopping here or really any good ideas! Ack!

Jody - aarrgghh about work! Oh well, at least you get to go help your mum. Obviously no recommendations from me, but we really only have front loaders in the UK, top loader was something my grandma had years ago! Sounds like I'm more like DD re social media. That does sound cold but we had -5 this morning which meant the snow is hanging around as it's not warm enough to melt. DD went back to school but had to be driven in as there's no chance of cycling at the moment with all the ice. She's working tonight so I'll have to drive her to work and pick her up as well!

Mary - any snow? Is that a brewery you can go and drink in or not?

Lisa - that's very unusual that we've got snow and you haven't! You certainly wouldn't be cycling in this!

Did the GG premix that includes the chair instead of ball. I was swearing a lot!!
Got a top, fleece and fingerless gloves on. Resisted the lure of the heating so far but I'm about to crack!
 
Hello! Today did a Julia YouTube workout, looked simple, but you would think that I would learn, I don’t!

Jody, you got up and dressed and went to work and you were off?? Haha! I’ve done that! I don’t know much about washers, just turn them on.

Ronne, our furnace is up and running, about 20 degrees Fahrenheit, not sure what that is in Celsius. It’s a restaurant brewery, pretty popular, just not my favorite.

Lisa, I cannot believe you don’t have snow yet! We only have about an inch, just enough to look pretty.

Hello to everyone else, all ready got the house cleaned. Christmas band concert tonight. I’ll have to make sure my phone is charged so I can’t distract myself in the back row! I am awful! Mary

Thought I'd have more DOMS today but not too bad. Did a Susan Chung KB premix. Finally got out to the post office to send off all the cards. It's been chucking it down all day - melted most of the snow at least.
Going to book group tonight and having a bit of Christmas do, everyone's bringing Christmas food and I'll have a glass of wine or two!

I have revised my opinion of the new KCM’s they are perfect for anyone who is tired of killing them selves working out. I have done three of them so far and really enjoying them.
 
I spent more mini trampolines in London than anticipated. I think it was like 4, lol. DD home from school. She's very stressed!

Hi all! We got a skiff of snow yesterday, more to co e this weekend so I’ve been spinning especially since I think I narrowed down that a sweat drenched buff on my neck is causing my neck to tighten up and really hurt after cold wind blows on it. Remember how I couldn’t workout in the basement with a fan anymore? Yep, same principle. We couldn’t find any snow in the mountains for snowshoeing but bff and I had a fun time as always. I now have her hooked on MJ for sleeping and pain. She is having same neck problems as me, sympathy pains? As she complained I’d say, you’re preaching to the choir! She likes my MJ infused coconut oil added to tea at night, so I have her sold on it, lol!

Mary, glad you paid attention! These days will be gone before you know it so fully immerse and enjoy! How exciting for DD! I’m glad I’m not the only one to not get the trampoline reference!
Jody, why is dd stressed, from school?

Took a break from workouts over the weekend. I've got a bit of a sore throat/cough etc so thought it would be best to have a break. Got my last shopping done and we bought the tree and decorated the house yesterday. All looking ready for Christmas!
Doing a KCM Kettlebell 30 mins today.
 
Three busy days on at work with 12, 11 and 13 K steps in. I'm off for the next three and better get all my shopping and planning complete. Over Ch-mas break, DD moved apt again and has papers to write over break. Other DD went to new Star Wars movie (in amazing Disney bounding Rey ensemble, I wish I had a pic to show). Mini tramp comments have to do with frivolous spending justifications. For example, I have wasted about $250 on a Jumpsport mini tramp I seldom use or even want. Therefore I can spend a mini tramps worth of dollars here or there on things that are actually important to me. My second London trip cost about 4 mini tramps including flight. Not bad for a whole week in London but more than I was planning!

Ronne Yes, mini tramps are an accounting method! I hope the sore throat and cough resolve quickly. Book clubs, wine and home decorating all sound so much more charming in England, LOL!

Mary How long will DD be in FL? I heard that Atlanta airport shut down yesterday? One of my patients said that but I didn't get a chance to check on it. Hopefully she has safe travels and enjoys the performance.

Lisa, I can't absorb too much more right now but I really would like to have your Mj info. I would love something for my mom to help with her back pain and sleeping. Good for you for applying all your research skills, even though a little ironic since I think initially you were against it. I'm glad you had fun with your bff. Did you hike or something instead?

Roxie, good job on workouts. I need to do something today, its probably been at least 3 weeks! My Uber driver was also pharmacy tech. She said its very stressful. I thought of you.

Tracy did you ever end up getting new shoes? I still need some for both work and work outs. Re my work schedule, the shorter version would be Time off only allowed June through mid Nov with some limitations. I did decide to commit to the bathfitter thing. I think it will be easy to maintain. All my home reno ideas seemed more feasible this time last year when I had some extra cash. Turns out, you can only spend it once! What is the thought process around getting a new puppy?

Murphy are you still riding your indoor bike? If I was just going to do one thing I think it would be weights only. Lately I just do Zero things, doh!

Waves to all, its time for more coffee plus DD up and sneezing her head off- she gets severely allergic to something when she comes home. Another mystery to solve.

Happy Monday! I did spinning yesterday and now waiting for it to warm up to take a little ride today. Will probably ride tomorrow too, Wednesday is massage day so even though it’ll be warm (60) I won’t be able to ride, then after that looks like the arctic weather sets in for a bit. Jody, yes we did a little hike, icy in spots. Yes I was against MJ , my strict upbringing! I’ll never disclose to my sisters but I did tell my brother, he was like, what took you so long? I’m happy to share information when you’re ready. I’m sure Ronne may think things are more (fill in blank) over here....grass is always greener....
Mary, did dd make it to Florida ok? That Atlanta airport was crazy losing power and such a bad time of year!
Ronne, I always feel like a slacker when I take rest days, especially after seeing my calorie burn that day, but it’s awful nice not to be crazy hungry all the time like I am with cycling. I need to be careful not to eat like I’m cycling if I’m not!
