Who Cares? November : )

Hi all! I did ICE TMB or MTB or something like that, it looks like this was my first workout since Nov 5. DOH! I need to study for some certifications I'm taking tomorrow. And today I had a guy come and give me estimate for new shower in hall bath. In the meantime, repair guy has taken care of leak and installed a few lights. I also need to haul left over hurricane wood out for "big trash" day. The perils of home ownership!

OMG I can totally see Lisa and dh researching all the aspects of cannabis and putting her spin on things. I bet the mind boost for getting out in the sunshine and riding was really worth it Lisa.

Ronne, I agree about mixing it up. I like to insert long periods of no workouts in order to shake things up, ha ha. Sensible of you to not push past pain.

Mary, I liked Rick Steves website and book as a jumping off point for travel research. He has a PBS show I guess? The London forums were active and I got a lot of info. I'm justifying going back b/c I think I've done the biggest part of the learning curve and I'd probably spend about the same amount of time and money if all I did was go to Georgia and hike and this is my travel window right now- we can't take PDO from Jan through May. Plus I justify big expenses with my Jumpsport trampoline. So basically, London is just a little more than 2 mini trampolines and therefore I can go. I can't go to Disney w/ my dtr for 2 days for much less than 3 trampolines!

Roxie, Murphy and Tracy I hope your workouts are going well!

Hi fit babes! I'm sorry I have been MIA! I have read all of your posts and made lots of notes, I'll be here again soon to say more than hello!

Hi everyone

Lisa - yes, it's my right hamstring, going into the glute at the top, I just have to be really cautious with it. I think the problem with yoga is that I'm not always warm enough to do stuff, I perhaps need to add some more active warm-ups before I start so my muscles are less prone to injury. That's useful to know about the RHR, I'll keep an eye on that.

Jody - sounds like an expensive time. I like your trampoline budget!

Hi Tracy!

So went back to cardio today, managed to fit RWH LI 2 before I had to go to the optician. I was so hot after my shower though that I had to sit by an open window for 10 minutes to cool down before I put my make-up on, otherwise I would have sweated it straight off!!
Don't need new glasses which is a relief as I don't want to spend any extra at the moment. So treated myself to lunch before coming back home to work.

Hi all! Did a YouTube workout today.

Jody, I️ think it’s awesome you get to go back! Why no PTO for 5 months? That’s crazy, those aren’t even the “popular “ times for vacation. Thank you for the website info, I️ will definitely give it a look.

Lisa, will you be able to ride your bike most of the winter? I️ know you have a spin bike, my DH put his bike on a trainer in the house and that’s how he uses it when he’s not racing. He doesn’t trust the cars around here. They will take you out to get where they are going!

Ronne, I️ know if I️ don’t wait long enough after I️ work out then shower, it’s like I️ never even showered! Crazy.

Hi Tracey!

Murphy, how is STS coming along?

Roxie, will the new KCM’s arrive soon?

Football game was good last night. So dang cold tho! If they win next week they will probably get to go to a bowl game. Hope it will be some place good, like the Bahamas and not some place cold and ugly!
Have a good evening, Mary

Mary-it looks like she will be shipping next week but nothing definite yet

Hi all. Was away last week. I unfortunately had to abandon STS. I am now doing an XTrain rotation. I blame my dd. Now that it is colder she "cannot walk to school". So, instead of getting up earlier to fit in a full workout I decided to sleep and do a shorter workout. It's easier to use her as excuse then get up earlier and fit in everything. LOL.

Waves to all.

Murphy

Hi fit babes!

Roxie, thank you for the info on KCM's new workouts. I will take a look. Although I have banned myself from any further personal purchases after having a girl day with my friend last week.... What kind of new car did you get? Did you tell us already and I have forgotten? So what activities do you and the grandkiddies do at the lake in Oct?

Hi Ronne! How's it going on cleaning out your workout dvds? I would need to do the same thing if I had all of them in one place but I probably have more of 'em at work! How awesome for you that you got to go to Venice for 3 days!! I'm glad you had a glorious time! It's a huge deal for me to get over the Atlantic--10 hours at least flying. Have you ever been to the U.S.? My county managed to go to all paper bags and charge $.05 for each. I'm pretty good about bringing reusable bags everywhere now! It sounds like your hamstring is better now if you tackled RWH! I've also heard that flexible people tend to get injured more easily. Are you really flexible? It may have to do with pushing too far and not knowing it. I'm sorry about your shower experience! I stay in my workout gear for a bit at work until I cool down enough. Fortunately, no one has complained about that!

Congratulations Mary that you are out of that boot! I don't blame you at all for being hesitant to get on the step again, I would be too! I don't travel every week for work, nor do I do it on a regular basis. October was just crazy that way. I've never stayed overnight out of town but that doesn't mean it won't happen someday. I hope your team gets to be in a bowl game! I thought most bowl games take place in warmer climates.

Lisa, I cracked up when you said you forget the plots of books right after you read them, I bet you can read the same book twice and not remember you read it the first time! About that #@%&^! mammo--can you get a 3D mammo? That may help with the picture. You are rockin' those rides again! I think I may enjoy running with BB in dry 35 degree weather over wet 45 degree weather! Poor kid has gotten soaked a few times this season so far. We have a little rain slicker for him but it's a pain to put on him. That is awesome you have so many choices for your rides! I understand DH wanting to quit work--I would in a heartbeat if I could afford it. But that's a long way off for me. How was your day snuggling with Suki and reading? That's one of the things I look forward to in retirement! Glad you found a tincture to help you. We have that option here but I've never tried it.

Hi Murphy! I went a little farther than you did skipping some parts of the workouts--I skipped them entirely for almost a week! Back at it officially today with Cathe's November rotation. I'm always behind on them. I like your reason for not doing STS, blaming someone else is always a good idea! I gotta do that more often.

Jody, I haven't done the FTA workouts enough to figure out a favorite yet. I LOVE your reference to Yard Max--that's a keeper! I sometimes wish I had a tiny yard. If I was on my own I would choose that. That's nice you benefitted from DD's diet in London,, as long as you didn't suffer too much! I'm like you, I like just about everything! Gosh, I really feel for you in your freezing temp of 70 degrees--did you pull out your a winter parka? We got snow here on Nov. 3 and never has it come that early! Someone at work yelled, "It's Armageddon!" How come you don't get a flu jab? (look, I'm speaking like Ronne!) I get one every year. I LOL when you described flapping around with Cathe on HIS! I'm excited that you get to return to London!! Can I travel in your suitcase? I will go on DD's diet beforehand so I won't be too heavy to fling around. Rick Steves does have a PBS series for European travel. I never know when it's on though.

So, if this group decided to do an annual thread, it will probably end up being 120 pages long! Whatever you fit babes want to do is OK with me.

So how often do you all buy new shoes? I'm barely getting 6 months out of them before my feet start objecting. I don't want to pay a lot of money because I do go through them but would be willing to pay more if they last longer. I buy Nike, usually from the Clearance store not too far from here. So I don't pay a lot of money for them.

I live in a rural area (no sidewalks) so we always get a ton of leaves on the ground (not to mention our state leaf the pine needle) and debris after storms. No one here cleans any of it up. It just seems to disintegrate over the Winter.

Everyone have their plans set for Thanksgiving? Ronne, is it a Bank holiday for you? I'm having a few people over to our house and my sister (so far) is going to be her usual PIA self. Dad said she'll always be that way so that's what wine is for! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!!

Talk to you (hopefully) soon! Tracy

Hi all

Tracy - thanks for the essay!!! It must have taken you ages to write. I feel like such a slacker! I must admit I didn't get any further than saying I was going to clear out DVDs, all words, no action... Yes, I've been to the States a few times, New York, Boston, California, Florida. I am quite flexible and I do tend to push myself to overstretch sometimes, I hear the words 'if you want to take it a bit further' and can't resist. I'm learning to resist though! I haven't bought any new trainers for over a year, I'm probably due some. I spend about £40 to £50 a time and buy about once a year/18 months. No, we don't do Thanksgiving here. We have imported Black Friday though, so thanks for that!! Enjoy your celebration!

Murphy - enjoy the Xtrain rotation, as always something is better than nothing! And sleep is always good!!!!

Mary - will you follow the team if they go somewhere warm for the game? That would be a nice treat.

Did a KCM Chest & Back premix from Muscle Definition. Going to focus on cardio and UB till my hamstring is a bit better.

Mary, the no PTO is b/c it is "season" here (snow birds) and we are much busier, needing up to twice the number of staff in that time frame. Also, no PTO if two other people are already requesting same time. Or holiday week. Or weekend (you still need to pull 6 weekend days in a 6 week schedule In other words you can't use PDO to get an extra weekend off. And schedule runs 6 weeks long and you put in requests about 8 weeks prior to its start and final approved version comes out 2 weeks prior. Hence my frustration at times. I hate planning and commitment! I'd built up 250 hours prior to this summer. So many constraints!

Hello

Jody - that is really complicated!! I understand your frustration.

Did the other UB premix from Muscle Definition today. DD is doing a short group dance performance tonight at a Christmas lights evening so I'm going along to support her and then we're going to get something to eat.
Have a nice weekend everyone!

Hi girls! Have been doing Cathe live.

Jody, I totally forgot about all the seniors down there! (As I am inching closer). That is complicated. Do you have to find your own coverage for weekends? I would be crazy!

Ronne, have fun!

Tracey, that was a post! I feel bad you wrote all that! I really enjoyed it! I’m with you on the damp chilly days, that cold just goes to your bones. I’ll take a crisp freezing day over that!

Roxie, you will have to let us know how the new dvd’s Are.

Murphy, I really enjoyed STS, such a HUGE time commitment. I don’t blame you one bit for abandoning it! I have only done it once, when it first came out.

Lisa, are your boys coming home for the holiday? Are you making dinner? We are cheating and going out! I just want to enjoy the kids and not worry about the whole job of cooking a 24 hour meal and they are done in 12 minutes eating it!

Have to go down to see DD, her car battery died. DH’s died last week, hoping mine doesn’t go, Have a great weekend! Mary

Yep, sorry, I used this as a vent about schedule as I don't like to rant about it at work, esp since it usually works out ok. I did a couple of ICE workouts this week but nothing today. I'm getting caught up on the homeowner stuff, few snags here and there. Ronne, sounds like a lovely evening! Mary, sorry about car's I hope yours stays OK! Murphy xt is a pretty good sub for STS, hvy wts and all that. Tracy Amazon Prime reminded me that I bought new shoes in Jan and I've been feeling overdue, sort of on the look out for a few months. I stick to 3 styles of Asics- one for work and one for rest of my life. They can be $$$ but I try to find them on sale or older models. I'm going to Daytona for an overnight w/ dd and meeting other dd at my dad's for TG. I think he's ordering some take away. Fine w/ me. I'm on for next 3 days, but I need to get more stuff done!

Good Afternoon,

I did some yoga and a run/walk on the treadmill today. It’s cold and icky out.

Tigger-we bought a 2011 Chevy Equinox LT an SUV so much better than my old car which was a 2002 Grand Prix.

Oh boy, lots going on here and sometimes I see Tracy’s big post and then sometimes it’s gone (I swear!).

Mary, Jan and feb are the worst mths for cycling outside. Ronne, ha, and when they say stretch further, I’m the one saying in your dreams!

Weather has been up and down. Been getting in cycling 3 of the last 5days. One day was a little windy and we got caught in a gust that felt like 30 mph, I had to stop the bike before it swept me away, thankfully we were just in some open space (no road)

I actually got the boys to agree on a time for thanksgiving. Mary, you are cheating! I’m actually not making much, especially since it will be the 2nd dinner of the days for one of my DS.

Hi everyone! Today did a Cathe live, since it was low impact, I (stupidly) thought it would be a bit easier! Ha! She fooled me.....again.

Lisa, don’t get blown away. It’s in the 20’s here now and DH just went out to run. I think he’s nuts, do you have enough clothing that it’s not too bulky?

Jody, have fun with your family. I actually would be happy with a nice beef tenderloin, turkey is not my favorite. So, I’m excited to go out!

Roxie, I have an older car too. I despise car payments!

Murphy, are the kids get excited to be off of school?

Ronne, how was the dancing? And the lights?

He Tracey!

Well, off to work tomorrow, (meeting today). And DS flies in from Boston tomorrow night!!!!!
DD has a football game tomorrow, that I can’t make because of DS, she will be home Wednesday morning.
I probably won’t see you all until next Monday. Happy Thanksgiving to you my friends. ❤️

Mary-we just bought this one so we have car payments again

Hi everyone

Not sure what happened yesterday, day just got away from me.

Mary - have a great time with the family. Fri evening was nice, we went for a nice meal just the two of us, town was packed, some of the restaurants were so full we couldn't get in. She did well with the dance and didn't mess up!

Lisa - you're brave going out in the wind like that.

Roxie - well done on the yoga!

Jody - have fun with dds and dad.

Been back on the Cathe workouts, did ICE LIS Step with BB premix, plus Pilates Abs today, Athletic Training yesterday and PHA Training on Sunday. Got a day off tomorrow as it's my annual shopping trip with my mum. Making a start on the Christmas presents (and birthday!).

So how was everyone's TG? I had an enjoyable time w/ my girls and Dad, good choice all around. Nice to not have guests, nice to not cook and clean, nice to hang out and relax. Oh, I should confess that I was in charge of heating up the dinner. The directions were very clear and it seemed very easy except I accidently turned off the oven instead of the timer and we had no turkey!

Ronne, how did shopping go? Jill always shops early and finds thoughtful nice little gifts, often from Etsy. I wanna be like Jill! I'm doing some ICE, too. BTW to what parts of FL have you been?

Tracy, on TG did your sister go with the flow? Was the wine to help you or help her? Ha ha, that was funny what your dad said. I appreciate your thoughtful posts. I enjoy catching up as well as the chance to share all my trials and tribulations. Of course sometimes a flyby is all I can muster!

Lisa, nice pic on FB of family! Pretty big gusts there, watch out! I am selling a couple of bikes on Craigslist, long story but it has to do with the couch I just got. So now I have 3 bikes in my defunct workout area.

Roxie, boo car payments. DD needs a car soon but we manage to share my Corolla pretty well so its hard to take that hit. She saves all her money though and could just buy something outright.

Mary, 20s, burrrrrr! Yes, he's nuts for running in that! I hope you got to collect all your children and had a nice time. My Gator will be finished up for the semester in a few weeks and will be home over winter break.

Murphy, hanging in there with XT?

I'm planning on a new shower upstairs- a bathfitter type deal to replace current original. IDK if I'm doing the right thing on that but I need to start somewhere on updating and maintaining this home and that shower is a mess. First thing they do on those property shows is rip out the bathfitter things so maybe a dumb investment!
I did ICE BC on Thurs morn before drive to dad's house and today I did a walk joggy thing - I needed the sunshine and meditative quality of that type of activity. I'm supposed to be packing for London today. My travel uniform this go around will probably jeans, hiking shoes and two shirts, the outer one being a flannel. Geez, I sound like lumber jack not an urban traveler. I might have to rethink it. Last time it was jeans, hiking shoes and a Life is Good tee. Not much better!

ps I've got some fleece lined leggings but not sure if they will be warm enough for London, though they would be easy and light to pack. I'm just doing a personal item and a carry on- my backpack, so I have to keep it light and very minimal. It will be amazing if I can pull this off, lol.

I did a vitamin D tabata walk sprint in the sunshine today f/b some of the lower body work from ICE LBB. Speaking of ICE, one of my dvds from that set has cracked/disintegrated around the core. I've found some flights for Barcelona and Copenhagen for less than 380 in Feb and March, LOL, London too but I might need to branch out. I should see how I do on this adventure before I sign up for the next? I have to commit to shower choice tomorrow. Ack!

Hello

Jody - I hate doing house maintenance. It's nice when it's all finished, but all the choosing stuff and dealing with tradesmen etc is a major pain. You'll be glad when you have a nice new shower. Travel in a jumper! I think you'll need one. Temps are dropping here and it's pretty chilly (although my internal thermostat is set a couple of degrees higher than the rest of the family so I haven't broken out the big jumpers yet!). Those flight prices look really good. I've been to both of those cities (natch!) both worth visiting. Florida I've only done the obvious, Disney World when I was a teenager, can't remember where we stayed. My mum's a big fan and has been about 10 times! Stayed in St Pete's a few times, I think.

Been getting the workouts in, lots of Cathe, got CCC out today and did the express premix. Also did TBT LB and got some proper DOMS from it! Not much else to report, went to DH's granddaughter's 1st birthday party at the weekend. Weird being surrounded by loads of small kids again and not having to look after any of them!
