Hi fit babes! And Happy New Year to all of you!! Thank you so much for letting me join your forum, I really enjoy reading about each of you! Ready for my end of the year essay?
Hi Ronne! Thanks for setting the bar so high for Jody's visit! Glad you both had a great day together. I need a pop up pub at the end of my road! How do I get one of those? Hmmm, the GG premix? Do I have that one? If you are swearing at it, then it's probably not for me! I really enjoyed your rhyming prose about book group! And thank you for explaining Jody's accounting method because I didn't get it either. We've had cold temps this month with sunny days (pretty unusual for us) and got snow on Christmas Eve. Just beautiful. Now it's all melted away and we got close to 2 inches of rain in 2 days!
Lisa--so glad your foot and ankle are better and you were able to hike with BFF! We are getting another cavalier like BB but in a different color. BB is 7 and I call him all sorts of things like puddin' pop, booboo so he can still be BB too. I'd say if you are messy due to your creativity, then my DH is a creative genius around here! For example, he leaves wrappers on the counter rather than throwing them in recycling or the garbage. Grr! Congratulations on your DH's upcoming retirement! Jealous! I have a ways to go to get there myself. I think it's a good thing you miss him when he's gone! I can't believe you got to 60 degrees in December! That's unheard of here and I consider the western part of WA to be mild compared to most states east of us. I did partake in MJ in my youth but my sister was very against it. Then a few years ago she sent me an email asking, "Do you like pot? I do, I finally got that stick out of my a$$!" I burst out laughing. I'm glad your hamstring is better and your snow melted--nice!
Hi Roxie! I'm glad you are liking the new KCMs! I looked at them briefly but haven't looked at any clips yet.
Mary, every year is different for the holidays with us. Last year, we had a quiet Thanksgiving at my sister's, then an open house at our place on Christmas. This year, we had T-day at our place and everyone did their own thing for Christmas. I appreciate that we all try to keep the stress level down a bit with family gatherings and the holidays! I think I have 13 years to go to retirement. DH and I are putting money away for it but we're not quite clear on how much we'll need by the time we get there. I know we'll figure it out though. Are you going to continue with Cathe Live? Just curious, my friend has it and loves it. You know, I am right there with you on those phone distractions! Glad you didn't have any in the second row of the band concert. I must say I am jealous of your workout shoe collection! My outfits match up but the shoes, uh, not so much. I'm also jealous of your son's travels, it sounds like an awesome trip--with a new replacement phone of course!
Murphy, you cracked me up with your "blah, blah, blah" post but I completely understood it! Are you planning to do a rotation at the start of the new year? I'm going to do a new Beachbody rotation called 80 Day Obsession. We'll see if I can make it through all 80 days! I will if I don't get bored. It starts Jan. 15.
Jody, I need to friend you on FB so I can see all of your photos of your trip! And I have to say that DH and I are very American like you--when we go somewhere, we have to see everything and come back exhausted! I'm sorry you went to work on the wrong day! Were you able to find a washer for your mom? I have a Samsung front loader and I like it. I would only get a top loader again if it had an agitator in it. They still make those believe it or not but you have to find them! I did get new workout shoes, Nike again. It's hard not to when the clearance store was on my way home from a friend's house and they had 30% off on top of that! My only recommendation for Nike is to not buy Nike Free. They are less expensive for a reason! The cushioning doesn't last long. And for work, even though I'm not on my feet all day, I wear Dansko the most. I think the hard surfaces I've worked out on all these years has taken their toll! Doesn't it suck that you can only spend money once? But you only live once too so enjoy the experience! And easy maintenance is my motto, whenever I can use it! The thought process of getting a new puppy was Basil's breeder texting us on Thanksgiving, "I just had a litter and there are 2 male tri-color puppies. Are you interested?" We always wanted a companion for BB and we had agreed to breed him with one of her dogs but it just never worked out. But right now, I am unable to reach her and have no clue as to what is going on. She has a lot on her plate so I am being patient but I would like to hear from her. I'm not counting on getting the little guy until it happens! I cracked up with your question of who will start us off in the new year and what will it be called? That IS a lot of responsibility, especially for a newbie like me! But I am committed! I have a suggestion of what to call it but I'm fine if you don't want to use it: Strong and Sensible. I don't think there is a thread with that name but I don't know for sure!
So, for the past 2 weeks, I've probably done a whole lot of sorta workouts! By the 22nd, I couldn't put a Cathe workout in the player for anything. I was burned out, tired, stressed, whatever. My dream job opened up at work and I am sure there will be at least 50 applicants for it. And although I would love to say that I'll be fine if I don't get the position, I know I won't be fine. Then there was that train derailment you may or may not have heard about that affected quite a few of my friends and co-workers who take that route daily. I am so grateful that none of them were hurt driving to work that day. Christmas was quiet and relaxing though, mostly because DH was sick! But I cooked a lot of good food and took it easy. Then DH gave me his illness as one of his gifts! It knocked me down pretty badly but I am now feeling I am a part of the world again and not just an observer!
I am sorry if I was a downer, I don't mean to be! I know that this is a positive group and I definitely lean that way more often then not. Thanks for reading! I wish you all a wonderful and healthy 2018!!
