Who Cares? November : )

Hello!! Today did PHA, that’s a tough one for me.

Jody, sounds like the perfect Thanksgiving! We were lazy all day, then went out to dinner with my family (DH didn’t want to go to his cousins, issues like we all have!). Then we visited with friends, it was lovely! You are going to become a woman of the world!

Ronne, I always sit by the food or drink at those parties and wonder how I made it through to the other side!

Lisa, what a great family picture! Do you enjoy your daughters in law? They look like happy young women with your beautiful sons!

Hello to Murphy, Roxie and Tracey!

Such a wonderful time with the kids. We saw Wicked, (I was balling, don’t know why it affected me so much), shopping, an escape room and most of all just talking and laughing. I loved every moment! Hope everyone has a good evening, see you tomorrow, Mary

Hello

Mary - it sounds like you've been having a lovely time. PHA is a toughie!

Did a timesaver B&G premix. I need to move around a bit - my steps are terrible today!

I like PHA- probably b/c it is so tough that I SUPER modify it. Mary what fun with the family, was that the second time you did an escape room? My local Brit friend and I were just talking, she did one here in Palm Beach w/ visiting family but her family members do them in London, too, and one included tunnels and underground that sounded really cool (glances at Ronne). Ronne were you escape room person or was it Tracy? Funny about your mom having so many trips to Disney. I went for a short bike ride to Publix today-I picked up some produce for smoothies and rode home w/ kale sticking out of my back pack. I'm such a weirdo. : D
ps question does your sports bra hurt your neck? All of mine cause pain, tension at the top of my shoulders/base of my neck after a few hours.

HI ladies! I've been MIA, just been riding and riding and riding while the weather is nice (and DH had time off). I've ridden about 150 miles and 7000 ft gain in the last 6 days! My new "medicine" is working really well, keeping the tightness in the neck down and the pain away! In fact I just sent my dr an email to ask about a medical card. I did have a slight problem with allergies with one of the oil cartridges so I'm sticking to the original one I got that works so well, those at that dispensary is very helpful and where I asked if it'd be beneficial for a medical card...they said for taxes alone it's worth it if you have a medical condition a dr will sign off on....we'll see. So, back to the allergies....I guess it's pretty common to be allergic to marijuana (MJ). I was wheezing so bad, like I do here when the ragweed allergies strikes outside. So I decided to not to have any MJ and clear my allergies and go back to valium, next day LESS relief with the valium than I had been having with just the MJ. That's when I was sold it's working, and that I'll stick with the first "brand" of MJ. Make sense...I feel like this is still so taboo to talk about :)

Tracy, how did you get on with your sis at TG? I invited my sis but didn't really want her to come as I just wanted it to be me and my boys and their wives. Thankfully she decided not to come, whew, dodged that bullet! I never thought I'd partake in MJ here, I had been threatening for the last 3 yrs because of my neck issues, then last year I actually asked my doc (nurse practiioner not my fav doc) and they said, just go try it....with no guidance I was actually trying to get guidance on how to use medically. So right now my info is from my "dealer' haha, I have a favorite dispensary. and I've been reading up a lot online.

Ronne, how did you survive with small kids? I actually see small kids now and just do a sigh of relief that I don't have to deal with that anymore. I guess the next time is when a grandma....I'm in no hurry for that.

Jody, you seriously didn't get the turkey cooked? You do seem to get your little whims and run off places.....before it was hiking in GA? now it's London and UK? Need to get you out here! I guess I can add one more thing to love about being in Colorado, recreational :) Even I don't have that problem with sports bras! But then I don't get them too tight because since I'm fused I find it harder to get over my head! You're sounding just like me and my neck pain. My massage therapist explained another piece of info to me about why it hurts where for me, but I forgot, I have to ask her again. There are a myriad of things that I'm isolating to what causes me pain and where. Since my neck is fused in the middle it's basically the top or the bottom carrying the load in different ways. It's been 4 years with me learning and remembering what will impact me. And I never equated it to being "muscle spasms" but then when my massage lady explained why my friend's neck was tight and that it was the muscle wanting to contract and needing to break the cycle. That's when the llight went off witha an aha moment which sent me down the path I'm on now.

Oh and Ronne, I’m finding that my rhr is even lower now that I take my new ‘medicine’ nightly. I’m easily in the low 50s now and even now when I’m sure I need a rest day it’s still in mid 50s, normally it go into 60s. Interesting

Hi everyone

Lisa - I think it's great that the MJ is working for you and very sensible that your state allows it. Does the medical card mean that you wouldn't pay as much for it? It shows that legalising drugs can work under the right circumstances. I think we're all on a massive learning curve with managing our bodies and learning what works for us and what doesn't. You've been particularly confronted by it because of your neck issues but I'm also learning all the time. I've discovered that yoga is good for my neck and shoulders but bad for my hamstring if I overdo it. My neck has been getting stiff again since I dropped the yoga!

Jody - I'm the one who wants to try an escape room but hasn't yet. I do get pain like that from certain sports bras, I generally don't wear them long enough though to get it.

KCM Weights, Bis/Tris & Shoulders. Short and sweet.
Talking of managing our bodies, I read something recently that chimed with me. It was about sports injuries and warm ups. Basically, the writer was saying that if you throw yourself into a warm up if you've just been sitting around at a desk not moving, then you can get injured. I'd never really thought of that but I do sometimes go all out in a warm up to try and get warmed up quickly and often the instructor is very encouraging but I've started pulling back a bit and not being quite so energetic. We'll see if it makes a difference.

Hello! Never made it here yesterday, work, workout, raking leaves. It was 60 here yesterday!

Ronne, that was our first time doing an escape room, fun. The one Jody described sounds way more fun tho!

Jody, I don’t wear sports bras, too much trouble to put on and take off. They have some cute ones tho. My DD that’s all she wears, sleeps in one too, I tell her to let the girls breathe, says she feels better with it on.

Lisa, I’m so glad you found something to help. Do you just use it in the evening? What about your appetite?
They haven’t legalized it here yet.

Hello to everyone else! Mary

Another rest day today, I'm just so tired from all the cycling we did last week! It's turning into a nice day here so I feel a bit guilty! But DH does have to work so it's all good. I did o a quick clean max! The cleaning has been neglected!

Mary, Mostly just the evening before bed. Once in a while after a bike ride when I know I'm home when i know the muscles need some relaxing. Then also during the day if it is hurting from something I overdid. I think for me the key is to keep those muscles relaxed, once they get too tight then it's when it turns painful (not a pain you can't deal with, more like just a 2 or 3, but it's so tiring dealing with it all the time). I've only told a couple people about this (you all being a collective one) until I figure it all out, I especially don't want the kids to know! Why do I feel the taboo of it all? How I was raised? Anyways, my BFF knows and she is all for it, but then she keeps pushing the fact that just CBD that's not psychoactive. But just CBD isn't what I need, and I'm in a legal state, so I'm not settling! It turns out from some of my research that it's the THC in Indica that helps muscle spasms (and I can tell). I only add in CBD if there's "pain" so the THC AND CBD helps for that. And by no means am I walking around stoned! I take just enough to ease it up as needed and I'm careful to stay clear headed if I'm going out and about! I haven't noticed an increase in appetite. I've read there is specific strains for that and maybe that is more in the sativa family, not sure. I'm not dealing with loose weed either! I'm not smoking it! yuck, I did turn to the vaping for the THC but I like the tincture for the CBD. Actually I like the tincture a lot, but those are sooo expensive! The one CBD one that is 36 servings (I try to get double that) was $90! Also the edibles are so expensive too! For 10 "gummies" that is a normal 10 mg dosage, for THC only it's something like $17, and then if you get CBD and TCH it's like $25! Vaping is a bit more economical (and quick, and only takes me 2-3 inhales) and the $30 cartridge lasts me at least 3 weeks. I don't like the vaping but it's quick and easy and cheaper. I never raked the leaves in the front yard, I let the wind blow them all down to the end of the street, those poor people that live down there!

Ronne, be careful with that hamstring! Remember we are sensible ladies! lol. My BFF says she's doing yoga for her neck too but she's never gotten it back to normal, that's when my massage lady explained that she has to retrain the muscle to not contract (it's used to contracting). Massage lady says my problem is something totally different...she keeps referring to my muscle tone being different....more like it's always rigid (or something like that). The recreational sales tax on MJ is 10% so medical would save that, plus the dispensary said as medical there are other products, that are infused and they have stronger doses too (not that I need stronger). The medical card would be good if I traveled to another medical state (but Colorado doesn't accept medical cards from other states but our card is good in the other medical states), but still for those states that aren't rec or medical, I wouldn't be able to bring my "medicine". I could see that being a little daunting when you're used to using it! Just my one day hiatus I saw a drastic difference, in fact I don't think I would have cycled as much as I did last week but it kept everything so nice and relaxed, I almost felt normal!

Hi all. Not much to report. Been riding a lot. I feel like if I am going to ride this much indoors I should throw-in some spinning. We'll see. Not much else going on. Sorry for quick post.

Waves to all.
Murphy

Hello! Late today, did RWH plyo. Work was busy.

Lisa, 25% tax? Holy cow! The government likes to get their money! Hope you get the medical card!

Murphy, you and Lisa are our bikers!

Hello to everyone else! Mary

Hi ladies

Mary - that'll put a spring in your step!

Lisa - that's the good thing about legalisation, the money goes in the government's coffers!

Hi Murphy!

Yesterday was 4DS LIS cardio only and today I did Yoga Relax. Haven't done that one in ages and I really liked it.
Tomorrow will be shopping for bits and pieces, nothing exciting. And Sunday I'll be cleaning the house ready for Jody's inspection later in the week!!!

Finally a ride today, nothing strenuous but still about 25 miles! Weekend is going to be nice before the cold sets in on Monday. Mary, PCP doesn't know how to get a card. Guess you have to see a MMJ dr, not sure I'm going to pursue. Oh, for bike clothes, I just wear a jacket where the sleeve comes off and a long sleeve jersey (today I wore short sleeves), yoga pants over my cycling shorts. The jacket packs up nicely. Then fleece arm warmers if it's colder but I don't like to be out in anything below 40! Ronne, can't believe you're seeing Jody again, enjoy! Murphy, what kind of riding are you doing. Just a regular indoor bike?

I have some tired quads, 30miles sat and another 20 Sunday. Weather turns tomorrow so I see a couple rest days! I need them! Yoga would be good but that ain’t gonna happen! We have to get into the bike shop this weeks, chain needs replaced, again, that’s 2chains I’ve used up this year! Ronne, is the house all clean? I hope Jody doesn’t expect a clean house if she ever comes to Colorado! How was everyone’s weekend?

Hi Lisa and everyone

Lisa - I'm almost there with the cleaning! Doing it in stages. You're very yoga resistant!!

Took Saturday off and then yesterday was a CF premix and today did Supercuts. A pretty quiet weekend over all. Spent three hours in town on Saturday shopping, crossing stuff off lists. Almost there! Though not bought any cards yet.

Hi all. More bike riding today. I may attempt the December rotation. I will work backwards this week because her Friday says cycling. I don’t everything else so why not this. LOL.

Lisa - I have been riding my regular indoor stationary bike. I do adjust the tensio but it is not cycling, certainly not Cathe cycling.

Ronne - yesterday my husband was complaining that we needed to clean - I told him that if he moved his sh** we wouldn’t have a problem. We laughed about it, but seriously...

Waves to all.

Murphy

Hello

Murphy - good luck with the rotation!

Did a combo today: ICE BB Chest & Back plus Icy Core 2. Busy cleaning... and baking...

Good Evening,

KCM shipped today hopefully by the time it gets here I am not sick. Fighting some weird sinus sore throat thing that has cost me two days of work

Hi fit babes! Hope no one started a December thread. As you can see, I certainly didn't!

Mary, please don't feel bad that I wrote a lot, I wanted to! I hope your car didn't catch the battery sickness either. Going out for Thanksgiving is awesome, I think I'm still cleaning up here....

Congratulations on your new SUV Roxie! I have car payments now too, after having none for 14 years. I keep my cars until they are close to breaking. If I play my cards right, I'll have my almost 2 year old car well into retirement! Hope you like the new KCM you are feeling better!

Lisa, I must be abusing the privilege of posting here if they disappear on you! We had downpour rain here until this past Sunday. Now it's fog and a little sun and cold temps! But I have no problem taking BB out when it's like this. I'm glad your sister didn't come to your Thanksgiving if you didn't want her there. My sister did better than I expected so it was great! I think she felt comfortable that she brought her partner and everyone got along really well. Heck, I don't invite jerks to my house in the first place so I'm not sure what she was worried about. Regarding our marijuana stores here, I went into one 'cause it felt so weird that I could! I was shocked at how knowledgeable the salespeople were! My weekend was good, got some shopping done and enjoyed a birthday lunch with the ladies. Um, I didn't know that chains needed to be replaced on bikes.... :D I cracked up when you said no one should expect a clean place if we come visit! I wish I wasn't such a cleaning freak as I was for Thanksgiving--I don't want to do any cleaning for the rest of the year! :p

Ronne, sorry for my last essay! I imagine this one may be long too though. I make notes while I read posts so I'm not flipping back and forth trying to remember things. And I still miss stuff! So you get shoes every 18 months, good for you having them last that long! I think I beat my shoes up more quickly running with BB. Most of the time it's on asphalt or cement. I think it's interesting that you have Black Friday but not a holiday the day before that, I avoid it here like the plague! I have gone so far as buying cards but haven't written even one yet. It's the one thing of the season I let slide so I'm not stressed out. I sometimes send them after the holiday!

Hi Jody! I got completely confused about your schedule and PTO! But I understand the influx of snowbirds, they leave my area too, mostly to AZ. I would be a crazy person if I had to plan my time off 8 weeks in advance though, especially if I had nothing planned and didn't understand the system! I didn't think you were ranting about work at all. I do plenty of ranting about work at work! Most of the time DH doesn't wanna hear it anyway. So your Asics are still going strong after 11 months, good for you! I hope to go out next year for Thanksgiving, or just not have it at my place. The wine was for me! But sister went with the flow and it was all good. I think Bathfitter is a great idea! They've been around for 20+ years so they are doing something right. What did you pick for your shower? I love your London travel wardrobe--it's what we wear here! I would certainly go with you to Barcelona, Copenhagen and London for that price! I just gotta get to FL on the cheap somehow! I normally buy large in sports bras so they are not too tight. Anything smaller seems to squeeze everything to the point that I'm uncomfortable in my neck, ribcage, boobies, armpits, you name it.

Hi Murphy! I'm finishing Cathe's November rotation and will join you next week for the December rotation. Modified of course! You know, my DH leaves his sh** everywhere too! Sometimes, I don't laugh about it! :(

BB had a dental cleaning and some teeth pulled last week and we have a happier dog! He and I went on a longer jaunt than usual on Sunday so his energy is better. That's a good thing 'cause it looks like we may be getting a puppy in a couple of months. BB can help tire the little one out! I'll post pics when I get some. Other than that, I haven't decorated the house yet but I've got the shopping done. One thing at a time so I don't become a crazy person! And I keep up with the workouts so I don't get disappointed in myself.

Hope you fit babes are enjoying the season and not dealing with stress! Tracy

Hi everyone

Tracy - I hadn't even noticed we'd gone over into December! I do keep thinking we're in November, despite the fact that I've been Christmas shopping etc. I enjoy reading your essays, so keep it up!

Had a lovely day with Jody yesterday. We had a quick lunch in an Asian fast food place, then I took her all over Oxford, peeking in colleges, looking at buildings. We both did over 20,000 steps! Also popped into a museum, then she came back here for dinner and met DH and DD and I dropped her off at the station after. It was such a fun day.
I'm off to London again today to the theatre tonight with my mum. Then tomorrow, I'm having a rest!
