When/How long did you discover Cathe?

My answer was about 6.5 years ago, I purchased my first Cathe workout (Step Blast & S,J&P) from Collage although I knew who she was earlier but didn't own a DVD player. Even though back in 94, when her wedding workout came out, I was going through my divorce although I liked the workout and was happy for Cathe-I just couldn't do it. So, I purchased a couple more from Collage then decided I wanted to support Cathe directly and came here 6.5 years ago.
My determinant to figure out when I first purchased Cathe is the age of my two cats. My exchange student from Spain was here, I bought a DVD HD TV for her to use. After she left, I adopted Seville and Madrid and I purchased my first Cathe.
After that, it's been non-stop ever since. Whenever I asked advice about a workout, many chimed in so I could make a wise decision.
The collection of Cathe workouts I now own is rather large. Less than 10 DVDs I don't have.

I started doing the Firms in 1993 after we moved to the country with no gym in sight for miles 'round. Then, finally in 2004, after we finally got the internet and I joined a Firm message board like this, someone mentioned Cathe's workouts. I think the first one I ordered was High Step Training because of the High Step used similarly by the Firm. After I got HST I almost totally ditched the Firm for Cathe (except for Tracie Long who I still really like).

I now have most of Cathe's dvds except for the new MMA ones (not my thang), the really old ones and CTX (which I had and sold on Ebay).

I started Cathe workouts with the purchase of Maximum Intensity Strength. I think that was about 1998. That means I've been doing her workouts for 14 years! Wow!

I found Cathe on FitTv (how much I miss that channel!!) about 6 years ago and it was Legs and Glutes. To this day it is still my favorite Cathe DVD, after that I found her website and the rest as they say is history. I was so happy to find a channel that was fitness related.

FiTtv probably 8 yrs ago. I taped many off the tv. I finally started purchasing her dvd's with the un-named series (Butts 'n Guts, Lo Impact Circuit etc) when they came out. I have since accumulated ALL of them & been on one roadtrip 2008. She is the primary fitness instructor I use. :D

In 2005 I was looking for advanced step DVDs on Amazon. I bought Cardio Hits and have been hooked ever since. I even got my DH addicted to her workouts too (he loves STS), and we now own every Cathe DVD and virtually every Cathe fitness product ever made. We have also been to 2 RTs and counting! My family thinks we're a little nuts, but that's only because they have never worked out with Cathe! :D

I've got you all beat. I've been working out with Cathe for 47 years! The woman is nuts and just never let's up :p

Sorry, just having fun with you all. Thanks for working out with me no matter how long it has been. It is always my pleasure

Me Too!!

I found Cathe on FitTV in 2008. My first was Rhythmic Step. I discovered quickly, that I needed to start with the beginner's rotation and bought those discs. It took me 4 months to get through it. I have mostly focused on step, MMA, and circuit workouts. I did buy both the LIS and Shock Cardio series as pre-orders because they were such a good deal. I think of it as very inexpensive therapy. One session with a therapist would be at least $150 and I get to pop these babies in the DVD player again and again. And, I also get to chat with all of you. Its a wonderful gift that she gave all of us. I like that she accommodates special requests. Most of the time, if you think of low impact workouts, you don't think of them as 'intense'. But, I'm a little embarrassed to say, that there is plenty of room for me to grow with the LIS series.

I don't own many of the weight training discs. I do have lots of the circuits though. I would like to add BG and the pyramid series. But, right now I'm focused on circuits because I'm working on losing some weight.

My other instructors are mostly yoga instructors. I might get Tracy Anderson's series. But, that would have to wait until next Christmas.

I discovered Cathe around 1998 from the Collage Videos catalog. At that time I thought Cathe's videos were far too advance for my skill level.

About 2002, I decided to give Cathe a try and purchased the Wedding Video workout after reading feedback on other fitness boards that this workout was a good introduction to working out with Cathe. I thought the workout was tough, but I was hooked after that.

I went on to buy the Basic Step/Body Fusion and Low Impact Step workouts, and I have been building my collection ever since. I still find Cathe's workouts tough, but they are challenging and fun. :D

I found Cathe thru Collage Video back in 2005. I was a few months pregnant with my son when I decided to take the plunge and order my first Cathe work out! I've been hooked ever since! :D

Newbie with Cathe, May 2011 is when I found her. That's ok, better late than never!!!

I'm a relative newbie to Cathe too! I started doing her workouts around the end of 2010, early 2011. I wasn't new to working out to dvds...I had several in my collection but they were mostly intermediate workouts and some pilates/yoga. I had heard of Cathe before but was really intimidated and didn't think I was up to the challenge of her workouts. I finally just decided to go for it and got some through collage. I think my first few workouts were Cardio Core Circuit and her Hiit dvd. Back then, I didn't touch a dumbell over 8 lbs (and that seemed wicked heavy!). Delving into Cathe's library and reading these forums inspired me to actually try weight training...and I love it! I started collecting her strength, circuit and cardio workouts (except the step ones, I can't handle choreography!). Now I'm on my second week of STS! :D

BTW: Cathe is 47? Whoah, exercise really is the fountain of youth!! Totally inspiring!

2005 thru Fittv. I used to tape her workouts and do them then I found her in collage video. Obviously I found her website too! Thank you Cathe for many years of health!

I am glad to see there are "newbie's" here too. Then I don't have to feel so left out. Funny you mentioned CCC and Hiit, those were my firsts too. And Intensity (which has a special place in my heart. It was my very first step video). I hope to be like you and purchase STS too someday.........I am still trying to work up to her collection.

Cathe is amazing. She just got more beautiful with age. She is a truly inspiring woman.

Good luck with STS! Take care!

I think it was 2005 or so. I was on the Firm message boards for about five years and started reading the Cathe threads regularly in 2004. I knew I had to try her out. I bought Body Max 2 and Low Impact Circuit to test the waters, and I was immediately hooked. I now own the entire library! Nobody beats Cathe!

2005, her DVD came with the step; my 1st purchase was 4 day split. I think that's when I truly became hooked and I haven't looked back.

I bought mine for my husband because he didnt like the coffe I drank...it is the best idea ever. the coffee is kinda expensive, but I'm worth it

I discovered Cathe in 2003 after doing an internet search for "advanced step aerobics workouts". The first workout I bought was Step Blast (on VHS). I enjoyed it so much I bought the entire Intensity Series soon after that. I've been buying her DVDs ever since. I have only 4 more DVDs to buy before I have all of her DVDs.
