What's your Occupation?

Really great thread....I am general manager of a bagel shop...no sitting down on this job. My friends find it hard to believe that I can work a 10-12 hour shift running around, then announce that when I get home I have plans to work out...haven't you been doing that all day?

I teach for Head Start and am the facility director. Been teaching for them for 15 years. Prior to this, I taught kindergarten for the public schools but found more freedom and creativity in the early childhood area.

I have been an accounts payable clerk for 19 years. (I sneak a peek at the Cathe forum on occasion during the day when nobody is looking - shame on me). I'm completely burned out. I've been trying to find a position in the school system cafeteria so that I can be off with my son during summer and Christmas vacation, etc, and pretty much have his schedule. Been trying to find a position like this for 2 years! Apparently this $7.00 per hour job is very coveted. I guess a lot of moms like me will accept poor pay to have the summers off with their kids.

Hi everyone.
I love my work. I have a Skin Care Studio in New Jersey. I've been doing skin care for 29 years and truly enjoy every minute of it. The best part? I set my hours. I don't start until 12 pm so I have plenty of time for Cathe in the morning -- after taking care of the kids of course...:)

Hi! I am an Inventory Management Specialist for the Minuteman and Peacekeeper missiles. I work for the government.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Management.

I am finishing my graduate studies in Health Services.

I am also a CMA.

I hope to find a more active job when I finish grad school, but do enjoy what I am doing now.

Great Thread!

I am currently a stay at home mom with my almost 4 yr old daughter. I am certified through AFAA and teach 2 to 3 kickboxing classes a week. I plan on returning to my full-time job of probation officer around the time she begins first grade.

I am VP of Product Development & Technology for a software company.

I have a gigantic passion for computers and fitness! (Now if I could only make the two work together....)

Wow, what variety we've got here!

I'm a trusts and estates attorney at a law firm. It's my way of dealing with my worst fears. An estate attorney brings the appearance of control, order planning and organization to something that is completely out of any human's control: death.

I love it because it combines some of my favorite things: psychology, tax law and writing. Now if I could just incorporate working out and fine dining I'd be floating on cloud nine!

I am a bioinorganic physical chemist. I am doing postdoctoral work right now on my way to becoming a chemistry professor (hopefully) and getting a "real job" as my dad would say. My passion for working out comes from years of competive gymnastics training.

I am blessed to be a stay at home mother of three. I was studying nutrition a few years back when baby number three decided to join us. I want to get a RN in a few years, when he's a little older and I find the time. He's in kindergarten and I have a daughter in middle school and one in high school.

I'm in my last year of law school at Stanford, but next year I will be working at a large firm in Texas. So I guess I don't have a "real" occupation yet :)

Hi Mar! Every kind of theatre. I just finished up an intense drama (I killed myself at the end each night...emotionally draining)) and right now I am in rehearsals for an hysterical comedy (I need it after the last one!)
Before I went into theatre, I was a ballet dancer.

Why not try some acting classes?

Great thread!
I'm an RN. L&D is my love, but these days I work in a small hospital where I rotate L&D, post-partum and nursery. A bedside nurse for 21 yrs.
