What is your dream job?

oh, oh , this is an easy one for me...my dream job is what Megan McCormick does- travel the world for Globe Trekker!

I would want to work for a small rinky dink, local town floral shop. I would love to be surrounded by flowers, designing arrangements.

I also would love to work as a ballet instructor for children for a small dance studio.

I know!

I'd love to be a movie critic! It would be fun to get to watch so many movies, and then get to write about them!

But since that's probably not going to happen, I'll stick with my current dream job (which I have): Being self-employed, working with my husband at home! I have a great commute, I can work in the kids' schedules, and I know I won't get fired!

Spa critic is nice, too! Sign me up!

Shopping consultant. Although I'm not that good at shopping for myself, I often seem to know what looks good on others. Sometimes when I'm in the dressing room at a store and a stranger asks what I think of what she's trying on, I'll point out another item that I think would look good on her. But I wouldn't make any money working at a department store on commission, because I would never let anyone walk out of the store with something that didn't look good on them!

A mortician, a florist, or and interior designer, in that order. Weird, I know. I suppose I could combine the 1st 2 into one business. I just don't seem to have the time/money/ambition to go back to school. I suppose if had the ambition, I could find the time/money. The closest mortuary schools are in Chicago, which isn't that far, but I certainly wouldn't want to drive there every day.

Something with either fitness or cooking maybe a dietician. I have absolutely no schooling beyond 1 sad year of college.

I run a family daycare out of my home. I make a good wage for someone with no education. I have felt burnt out for the past year & would love to try something else. Not sure though.......

I"d love to be a stay-at-home mom....but I have the second best job.... I am a part-time pharmacist. Love it & I get paid great for it too! ;)

Ok, so I'm already a veterinarian which was always a lifelong dream of mine, and I do enjoy it, BUT I'm also a big weather nerd so my dream job would be........

a veterinarian on the Weather Channel -- I could do bits on animal safety and tips for cold and hot weather, etc..then I could rub shoulders with sexy Jim Cantore and his cute bald head, lol...

OR

Samantha from the Travel Channel and all the fun crap she gets to do - it's not fair to get paid to go on cruises and to exotic locales!!

I really want the WC gig -- should I e-mail them my resume??

My dream job would be to run a doggie daycare and pet hotel and spa. Of course all the animals would have to be 100% healthy and never allowed to get sick or die. Um, yeah there was a reason I only lasted as a pre-vet major for one year...I realized the "Happy & Healthy Animals Only Clinic" wouldn't work. ;)

My dream job is receptionist at a gym. That way I could spend all my time in a health club, get paid for it, socialize w/all the members without having to train them & listen to them whine. :p

My backup is kind of like Nancy's but a little more cynical. I'd like to be chief of the fashion police. Including my own jail cell (decorated in mostly DKNY) and Kate Spade summons book.

I would love to be a military historian at the Army Carlisle Barracks in PA.

I know....weird

Ooh, then we'd be neighbors. ;) I drive by the Barracks all the time.

My dream job would be anything involving working with animals. My nightmare job would be exactly what I am doing right now - Executive Assistant. :( I hope the majority of us gals are working on ways to land that dream job. I'm still in the application process at Purdue for the Vet. Tech program. Sending off my essay today to complete my application paperwork and then I will be waiting to see if I get in for Spring. It will take me years to finish the program while still working, but at least I will be working towards doing something I love instead of just sitting here rotting behind this desk.

What I'd really like to do is direct :p. That way, I could tell people what to do and they'd have to do it, unlike my children, dogs and DH. :D

Ooh what a fun thread!! ITA with Nancy and Laura about the fashion or shopping. I would LOVE to be a back up dancer!!

LOL, Robin, all of your posts today have had me LMAO!! Glad to see you've found your sense of humor again!

YES!!! This would be my dream job too!

I'm trying to convince my husband to take a pay cut, move to Florida, so I can get a job in this puppy store (I know, but it's not a typical pet store).
I would love them, hold them, clean them, and kiss them 100x's a day.
Awww, to have puppy love and smell puppy breath every single day. Now that's what I call HEAVEN!

I want to make art all day long (volunteering to work at the animal shelter, also). It's what I'm good at, what I went to school for, and I miss loving what I do so much that I disappear into it. I often wonder If I could make enough money selling my work online but then I start thinking about how I could never afford to lose the benefits (health insurance, retirement) I have from my job. I sometimes think 'If I won the lottery...' The thing is, I want for everyone to be able to walk away from a miserable job, not just me.
