What do you dig about your groovy self?

Edited to add: I first posted this thread almost a year ago. I'm wondering how things have changed since then. Do we like the same things about ourselves? Have we found more to like since then? Has it been a rough year and we like less about ourselves?

I was thinking: we talk a lot on this forum about those body parts of ours that we are not enamoured with. I want to know: what part of yourself are you loving right now? What makes you smile at yourself in the mirror?

For me it's my collarbone. I don't know why, I just really like it! Probably because for most of my life it was impossible to see I had one and now, there it is!

Good thread! Now I just have to think of something... I'm not used to coming up with something positive! ;)

Just offhand, I love my eyes. They used to be brown when I was little and I always said I wanted Green eyes. Somehow, around high school, they changed over and are now a dark green. It's not a color I see often on people (usually it's the light greenish grey color like my mom's) and it's about the only thing I "like" about my looks!

Hmmm that is an interesting question! I would have to say my shoes. ;)

I like my eye color too, & it took me almost my whole life but I've finally learned to love my curly hair. :)

Yes, you do have gorgeous eyes! :) (said in the most non-stalkerish way possible!)

I like my shoulders. They are the one part of my body and can really say are cut.

And both Liann and Laura have gorgeous hair.

I'm happy to say that as I approach 40 there's a lot I dig. :)

- I love my green eyes
- my hair, which is longish and super curly
- my upper body muscles
- I have a great arse :D
- my face, with all its laugh lines and crows feet that are just starting to show. I've earned every one of them, sometimes the hard way.

Good thread.

My groovy self kinda likes my delts and shoulders. It's the body part that seems to react the most to strength training (and what i get the most compliments on!) ;)

And yet, here you are, a gorgeous woman, if your avatar is any indication.

Good thread.

So that IS you in your avatar!

I'm lovin' my shoulders and arms right now. I also like my lower back. There's a nice curve there that flows right into my big butt! :p

I'm all bloated and crampy, so nothing is looking too good to me right now. However, my skin is clear. I'm always grateful when that happens.

Lessee... how about my charming personality!? BWA HA HAAAAAA!!!!

Okay, I'd have to say it's not so much anything about my appearance, although I have learned to embrace my curls, and my eyes are kind of cool in a freaky sort of way (one is blue and the other is green), but what I dig the most is how comfortable I feel in my own skin. I'm in my mid fifties and I feel like I've gained a good bit of wisdom that naturally comes with age and life experiences. I used to be overly concerned about what other people thought of me, but I've developed a confidence in my own view of things and I'm no longer enslaved by the perceptions other people have of me. Does any of this make sense or do I sound like a nut ball!? :p

The only thing you like about your looks!? OMG I don't know what you see when you look in the mirror, my dear, but you are GORGEOUS!!!

Yep, a complete whackjob! :p

That's funny - I have green eyes, too!! I guess we are a happy green-eyed group:cool: I can't pick a physical feature that I really dig about myself, but I do dig my overall self. I will be 38 next month and I finally have a good balance of acceptance of my inner & outer self. I may have had a better body in my younger years, but I certainly did not have the brains of today to go along with it ;) Cool thread!!

Okay...I had to think about this one. My eyes are pretty cool looking according to most people who know me...they are golden brown. I think they are weird...

I personally like my legs. I have a weird fear about fat ankles and calves; I think they are called cankles? Anyway, my legs are in pretty good shape and I don't have cankles! :)

I like that I look younger than my age. Of course, I haven't the greatest eyesight, but looking in the mirror I don't think I look a whole lot different than my avatar (that's me at 12, 35 years ago). ;)

I have an optimistic nature and a good sense of humor(which has been a plus when dealing with my kids).

My skin has always been clear, even as a teen. My hair which bugs me at times often gets compliments, so there must be something good about it. :)

I love that my muscles get big and strong easily. I know some women hate big muscles, but I love them, bring it on.

I can look good without make-up.
