What do y'all do for a living?

Currently a SAHM and a real estate agent. The market is the pits in Michigan so I am more SAHM than anything. I was a flight attendant for USAirways for 15 years. I am also in school part time for pre nursing requisites. Want to be an RN now!!!!

hey lisa
Sorry to barge in calee!I hope you don't mind but I was wondering how long it took lisa in school,I've always wanted to be certified pharmacy technician!Right now,I go to a local tech. school for medical billing, but would love to do what lisa does!so how long did it take you, lisa! My tech school dosen't offer it:(!

Oh,calee as mentioned early I I'm a college student,I don't currently work,I stay at home with my two small children!but do plan to go to work after school!

I am a SAHM. Have been for 6 years. Before my son, I was a social worker. I worked in day treatment with schizophenics and bipolars. It was really draining sometimes. When I go back to work, maybe next year, I want to work part time and not in the mental health field.

I have a journalism degree, but have been at home with my son since he was born almost 20 years ago.

I run a household that includes my college age DS, my elderly father and DH who is an equine Veterinarian. It keeps me busy!

I am an accounting manager for a steel service center. Pretty deceptive though, it is a crazy place that I work at!!! More fun than work most of the time!:+

I'm a lawyer, currently on hiatus as a SAHM. While I'm raising my monsters I'm way too involved in kids' activities, like coaching high school mock trial, coaching a junior drill team. blah, blah, blah (I think working was actually less demanding!)

I work in the non-profit world.... I manage volunteers and participate on a couple of community boards. My education is psychology and human resources so it's a nice fit. And leaves plenty of time for golf, travel and taking care of my DH and my 10 year old black lab!

I was in the Army but when I got pregnant with my daughter I got out. Now I am a stay at home mom of two kids. I have an associates degree as a Laboratory Technician but once the kids go back to school I will either finish my nursing degree (started it before going into the Army) or social work. I am torn between the two but I probably will do nursing since it is easier to find a job with my husband being in the military we move a lot.

Lots of very cool jobs here! I'm a microbiologist in a hospital lab. I have a degree in Biology and a second one in Medical Technology. I landed in the Micro section of the lab about 28 years ago and have loved it ever since.

what a cool topic!! I at least found it interesting...
I am a Registered Nurse in ICU/PCU/Telemetry unit. I have done that for the last 3 years.

I am an attorney, although I am not working right now since we relocated and I am not yet admitted to the bar here. (Also, I have 2 young girls I'm home with until I'm admitted and back to work.) Before moving and taking this brief hiatus, I was a criminal prosecutor at the D.A.'s office in Los Angeles and then Austin. I hope to get back to that here soon.

I am a Math Professor at a Community College. I teach anything from Intermediate Algebra to Calculus III.

I am a SAHM:7 Before I decided(or decided for me) to stay home with
my children I was a ASE certified auto /diesel technician for a Chevrolet dealership. I was a technician for about 6 years before I got pregnant with my son and could no longer be on my feet leaning over cars. I was promoted to assistant service manager and I did that for another 6 years before the dealership went out of business after being in business for 40+ years(typical state of auto industry in Michigan);( I miss my job and the people;(

Neat topic!

I'm a Product Manager for a database marketing firm. It's a pretty fun job unless one of the Account Managers aren't doing what needs to be done :(

I enjoy learning more about everyone here too & I think a great deal of every profession & I truly mean that.

I'm a brick designer. I know that probably sounds strange & most people don't have any idea there is such a thing at all but that's what I do. I design the special shaped brick features like sills, arches, treads, wall caps, & decorative trims. I bet most people don't even notice details like that, let alone think there's actually a person who does it, but that's what I do & I truly enjoy it.

Back to my original comment, though, I think even more of the guys in our plants who make these special units & the masons/laborers who actually use them. Because without them, my job would mean nothing.

Fun question, Calee!

I am a Web Content Coordinator for a company that publishes Supplemental Education books. (boring...) I'm also a certified trainer so the fun part of my day is teaching a boot camp class at 5:15 in the morning.

I'm an xray/CT tech. I work at a truama hospital and a cancer hospital. I've been doing this for 8 1/2 years. I really like my job, but I wish I could work 2-3 days a week instead of full time.:7
