What color shoes with a light blue dress?

Lighter shades of gray. Why didnt anyone say gray yet?

Especially the faux suede (I am vegan) or fabric type go well with silk in my opinion.

I also think ivory and beige are good choices.

Good luck with the interview Laura! They will be lucky to have you. The more pertinent issue is can they offer you a good work culture and a challenging, satisfying role?

Oh - I'm surprised no-one's said white. If in doubt I usually revert to white when the sun's out. Something really simple. Plue blue dress + white shoes + white bag - YOU GO GIIIIIRL Knock 'em dead.

I'm surprised no one said white either, that's the first color that came to my mind when you said light blue dress.

No way with navy, I think that would contrast the dress way too much.

Grey is good neutral color as well, it usually goes with everything. :)

Good luck, Laura!!! ;)

I like the cobra pump, too; nice eye, Klaudia! Of course, those are a little low for me, but for a job interview I would make the sacrifice. Ha!

I have a thing against white shoes, I'm not sure why, but I just don't care for them. But, Laura, if you don't, white is a good choice in the summer. Good luck on the interview!

Not Navy

Well darnit you guys, can you pick just one? :D

Hi -
I'm a junior excutive in a large corporation and I wear suits on a daily basis. DONT GO WITH NAVY. Too much blue. Since it's summer, I would go with a tan shoe, anything along those lines, and match your purse to your shoes.
:)

Alrighty, tan it is! Thanks for the advice & the well wishes everyone!

I have a thing about white too. It's just too medical for me. ;)

This is actually my 3rd interview. I think I'm very close to an offer. It's my dream job--one of the most beautiful beach communities in NJ. It'll require a relocation, but will be well worth it!

I am the same way about white shoes! I can't stand them! To me, they make your feet stand out like big white cotton balls or something. LOL! I never wear white shoes, even before Labor Day! :p

Hi Laura.

I haven't read any of the responses you received so my opinion is uninfluenced...;)

Bone or nude (probably the same thing, actually).

ETA: Good luck on the interview!!!

I'd say no to the navy blue, definitely too much of a contrast and intensity difference (unless you choose a shoe that maybe has just a touch of navy as a highlight), but perhaps a blue just a bit darker than the dress would work (perhaps a periwinkle?)

Nude or beige (maybe a peachy beige?) would work (it seems close to the complimentary color of yellow). A light yellow could work as well, if you got the right color. Definitely take the dress along with you to check out the shoes.

You might be able to find a color wheel online with guidelines as to what colors compliment each other.

ETA: I also think grey would work, if it's the 'right' grey: perhaps one with a bluish tint to it. A very light version of pewter?

Well you know, you'll always be welcome for a visit Mama Deb. I'd be living about 5 blocks from the beach. It would be a delightful break for you after a RT! ;)

Laura, that sounds like a blast...I just may take you up on it! Is it Cape May by chance? My DD's in-laws live in CM!

Laura, as gorgeous as you are, nobody will be looking at the shoes. So pick something you like & have fun. Good luck & hope you get what you want.

Yoo-Hooo Laura!

How did your interview go? Have you heard anything yet? Most importantly, did you get NEW shoes? :p

OK just an update--after 6 weeks, 4 interviews (that required me to travel 3 hours one way), doing a zillion repairs & staging my house, putting the place up for sale, getting a low ball job offer, not getting a single offer on my house, I had to turn down the job. :(

Kinda sucks that a bad real estate market has pretty much prevented me from taking the job of my dreams. I mean, I priced the house for about $20K less than my full investment in it, it was priced so I'd break even & would basically walk away with zero. I thought I could do it if the new employer offered relocation assistance (which I'd requested from day one, I can't figure out why they put me through this process knowing they weren't gonna offer me what I needed), but none was forthcoming so it appears I'm stuck at this awful place at least until the market gets better.

Oh well, such is life--trying to count my blessings. I HAVE a job. It pays OK. I love my house & I love where I live, even if it isn't at the beach. It just wasn't meant to be, right? So life goes on.............

I think things usually do have a way of working out - long term would you want to work for an employer who seems to undervalue you from day one anyway?

I bet you looked great though - :)

LOL! It did turn out to be a very cute outfit Cindi! :p

I don't think they undervalued me, I think there were politics that prevented them from offering me what I needed. They were really great people. I would've loved working for them. The whole thing was very amicable & we both understood each others' position. It just wasn't meant to be, I guess.

That sucks, but it probably wasn't meant to be :( At least you got an offer, so that should be good motivation to keep your head up for future interviews!! Plus, you won't have to waste time wondering what shoes to wear since you did all the legwork already ;)

You WILL find something worth your time!!!

Sorry to hear but glad you are looking on the positive side! And, you did get some NEW shoes! :p I am sure something will work out eventually. Hope the housing market turns around soon for you...see you SOON!!!!
