What Cathe w/o do you use your vibram five fingers for?

Just curious?

Yesterday I used them for CCC and today my calves are killing me! In a good way. Since I have done this workout before in regular shoes and not had the same result, I am convinced it is from the vibrams...Any one else trying their shoes with Cathe?

Thanks
Rachel

This sounds very interesting to me. I don't have the vibrams but would like to know how your feet felt while doing CCC?

Which Vibram 5-Finger do you have?

I'm really interested in getting a pair. I don't suggest doing this unless you have a really good floor, but I do all my cardio (including Insanity) weight work and kettlebells in bare feet. I bought a pair of Ryka's but still prefer bare feet and the 5-fingers look as close as possible to that.

aveggiegirl...I was really concerned about the whole foot pain thing. I had read on something that people experienced it at first but so far I have had none of that. I also wondered how I would feel impact on all that jumping but I did not really notice a difference. If anything I might have had a more springier take off. Maybe that is attributing to the calf pain.

Dirtdiva...I have the KSO sprint. I am really loving them. I have not tried any kid of step in them and am not sure if I will.

Today I did my leg work out and I felt like I could feel the ground more under my feet. I felt like I really had stability on the squats. I am not sure if anyone else has had trouble with the paper plate moves in sts but I have felt a lot of drag in the past and I was expecting the same today but it was way different. I am not sure if it because I did not have shoes weighing my foot down or what but it was much smoother...

I wear my Vibram FF shoes to do everything! Run, kickbox, step, weights, etc. If you haven't been wearing them for a particular type of workout, your calves will be very sore! Mine were killing me after my first longish run in them. Until you get used to wearing them, you'll have that. It's your body adjusting to the proper form that you change to while wearing the VFFs!

I love mine and can't wait to get a couple of more pairs for wearing to work!

Tricia - that makes sense. With most types of shoes, even tennis shoes, your feet aren't completely flat like they are either while barefoot or wearing the VFF. I am LONGING to order a pair!

ETA: So, I was finally going to break down and order a pair but they are out of stock :-(!

I do not have the Vibram FF shoes, but do own a pair of Nike Frees, which is the same concept - barefoot training. I particularly feel better grounded wearing my Frees while weight lifting and also went through a break-in period with sore calves

I've been interested in these for KB training (both kickboxing and kettlebell!).

Where is the best place to get these (best prices)?

Do they run true-to-size?

How disappointing!

Have you tried your local running or sports stores? We got ours at City Sports. It's a chain and they have a website. You might try them.

They do run pretty true to size. They are sized in European sizes and you want a snug fit. Basically, you want them fitting just like gloves would on your hands. I absolutely love them with kickboxing! I don't do kettlebell workouts (yet), but I would think they would feel about the same as when doing any other pretty grounded exercise like kickbox or weightlifting!

Try your sports/running stores. As I posted above City Sports seemed to have a good selection!

I'm having serious conflicting responses to that glove!:eek:

I want to laugh and sigh at the same time! I've never seen those, but I'll bet they'd come in pretty handy if you don't have anyone to massage your sore muscles, or if the person you have just isn't any good at it!

AND the glove is waterproof!

Finally foiund a pair online in my size. Actually, two pairs...Classic and Sprint. Does anyone have the Classics?

Carrie

I wear my 5 fingers for everything. I have some Classics that I work out with and I just got the new ones for cold weather running (I wear them to work since they cover more of the top of my feet and hopefully would protect better against needle sticks if a needle were to fall)
