What body changes, since you started Intensity Series?

I received my videos the 7th of January and started the 8th. I've only done the intensity series this month rotating them around. I have made some definite strength gains and with all that different core work I've just really tightened everything up. I'm starting to see that lower thigh muscle just above my knee on the inside of the leg. I've been waiting for that quite a while. I would say I've definately lost pounds and inches. I'm waiting till the 31st to weight and measure to see what kind of results I got with the series. All these great changes have come without eating really clean so just think what would be happening if I was!! Either it's the combination or the videos themselves or a whole routine change. What changes have others seen? I think it would inspire the "faint-hearted" to "go for it."

I'm so glad you asked...

This post is in NO way intended to toot my own horn, but the horn of Cathe and her incredibly effective workouts. With that said, here's a little bit of what I've experienced.

I started the Intensity Series at the end of December. The enthusiasm of Cathe and the crew was contagious and I put my all into every tape. Once in a while, I would throw in Power Hour, Leaner Legs, Circuit Max or Cardio Kicks, but for the most part, I followed Cathe's Body Blast rotation.

Well, this weekend I had a birthday party for my son (who turns one today!) My sister-in-law commented that she's never seen me look so slim and couldn't get over how flat my tummy was. (For the record, I gained 50+ pounds with my pregnancy and I'm only 5'0") When I went to the gym with my sister, it was the first time she has seen me in workout clothes and she said that she thought I looked "ripped." On Sunday night, when I was finished doing Boot Camp, I was in the kitchen holding my baby on my hip and my husband said, out of the blue, that my thighs and butt looked muscular and so much slimmer. He said that he thought I looked better than when we were on our honeymoon.

All of these comments in the space of a weekend...from people who know me best.

In all honesty, I cannot get over the results that I've experienced. I'm in all my size 2 petite clothes again (with room to spare), my arms and shoulders are getting nicely defined, my abs are flat, my core is getting so strong, my butt and thighs...(my biggest problem area)...are finally leaning out.

All of this happened with very little attention to diet (although I do eat healthy MOST of the time). I used "mental assistance" on all the exercises, really focused on contracting my muscles, lifted as heavy as I could manage, jumped, pumped and smiled all the while.

These tapes are not only AMAZINGLY effective, but they are fun, fun, fun, fun!

I'm sorry this is so long, but I just had to share how thrilled I am with these new tapes and how utterly addicted I am to Cathe!

RE: I'm so glad you asked...

Dear Letswork - WOW! I am anxiously awaiting my DVD's - which will be in my hot little hands on Thursday! YIPPEE!! Anyway, those are some fabulous results! I have two little ones - 3 1/2 and 18 months - and I am STILL working on my stubborn middle section! As much as I dread planks - I'm looking forward to these. Thanks for your update, I can't wait to hear what others say!

Sue:)

I, too, have seen great results from this new intensity series. I have been doing Cahte's tapes since 1995. I have gotten significant results from all of her tapes over the years.

Cathe just keeps getting better and more intense (as the series suggests). The thing I have noticed the most is my abs. Her new core work is absolutely out of this world. My obliques are very defined now - I have definitely lowered my waist measurement - not that I really needed alot of work in that area. My waist measurement was 24" now it is 23 1/2". I am impressed with the look of my obliques.

Since I have 10 children (yes, I gave birth to them all - no twins in there), the abs is an area that always needs work. I noticed the other day even my shins have muscles! On the outside of my leg bone - I thought what is this? I could hardly believe it.

I absolutely love the series!

Hi Sue

I think that Cathe's ab routines in the Intensity Series are insane! They are so intense and oh my, so challenging. I dare you NOT to get amazing results. You just have to keep pushing yourself to try and do a little more each time. I can't WAIT for the day that I can do all those inverted pikes on the ball and the walking planks.

You will NOT believe Cathe's ab strength. Considering that she had a baby a mere 6 months ago, it's truly, truly, truly awesome. There is one core section of Boot Camp where I looked at her and simply couldn't get over her incredible definition. She is amazing.

OH, and I have to mention how inspiring the rest of the crew looks. Jeesh, they all look super! Just wait, you'll see.

RE: Hoorah!

Yes, I have ten children, no typo there. But I have got to say if you keepdoing Cathe's new ab work, you will have abs that look like Cathe. Now I can see why her abs look so great after her second baby.

I have always worked extra hard on my abs - I can't wait to get the DVD (tomorrow) - because now I keep Cardio & Weights, Upper Body Pyramid at the ab section to do it everday.

This last week I have done the stability ball abs work and I can finally do the inverted peaks fairly well. I fell off the first few times I tried it. I find that if I keep my toes pointed and together the ball stays under my feet much better.

My oldest child is 29 and my youngest will be 2 next week. I have 8 children at home and I home school 5 of them. If I didn't work out I would be insane!

WOW!

All these stories are amazing!!

10 children and a 23 1/2 inch waist????? HOLY COW!!! That's really great!! I bet people never believe you when they see you, that you've had 10 children!!!

I have noticed the shape all around my calves really devoloping with the rotation of the intensity series. Also, as others have mentioned, the core work is so insanely hard, you will get results. These are a real shocker to the body!

Great post! I get my DVD's on Thursday. I thought I couldn't get any more excited but I have after reading these posts.

RE: What body changes, since you started Intensity Seri...

I've really noticed it in my abs and waist. It's much tighter and I can see definition too.:) I've been eating really clean the past couple weeks and that has helped me see the definiton better too. My arms are looking more sculpted. I am VERY happy!:D I'll probably be taking measurements next week(1 month after start). Keep pushin' Susan

RE: What body changes, since you started Intensity Seri...

I'm into the 4th week of Total Body Blast, while I do add more cardio, I've noticed the biggest change in my abs, obliques and waist line. All this core work is really helping. My legs are stronger. I noticed it yesterday when I zipped right through Rythmic Step on 8" box after doing Muscle Endurance. My stamina has definately improved as well. I haven't fully measured since the beginning of the month but I know I've lost at least a 1/2 inch on my abs and I lost 5 pounds so far.
I can't thank Cathe enough for making this series. It is just what my body needed to shake things up and off. LOL Now on to what color should my swimsuit be this summer. :D :D

RE: I'm so glad you asked...

letswork,

I have been hypnotized by your message!

I had a baby in Jan 2002 and gained 50 lbs and I am 5'1"-- so I read your message with interest!

Did I read your post correctly: you started doing these dvds 6 weeks ago? But I imagine you must have lost a lot of the weight during the past year prior to the dvds, no? Did you nurse? If so, for how long?

I need some advice! I don't have a scale so I don't know how much I weigh but I still do not fit into my pre-preggers clothes. I used to be a size 4/size 2 and am now like a large size 6. I nursed for 9 1/2 months and definitely noticed that the weight started to come off once I weaned.

I can't believe it's been a whole year!! I feel like I should be a lot further by now. Am exercising 5 days a week and watching what I eat. No, no cathe tapes yet but they are on the way! Am bummed.

I have definitely noticed a difference in my core region - I can FEEL my obliques are much harder, and my endurance has improved.

I'm on my 3rd week right now of a rotation of my own making (kind of taking a little bit of the Total Overall Body Blast Workout, and the Total Body Conditioning with more focus on Muscular Endurance rotations) and custom fitting them to my own preferences. Next week I just may follow one to the tee for several weeks - I've just found that I'm so sore from the difference in workout styles (this is a GOOD thing), that I need more rest days, or need more cardio days than that which is listed.

My upper and lower body seems stronger, and like I said, since these vids are so core-focused, my mid-section really seems like it's improving (here I am eating ice cream and it seems as if I'm undoing all the good! Ugh!)

Anyway, I have to say that I absolutely adore these tapes (I didn't get the DVD's even though we have a DVD player - it's such a big switch plus my dh always has something he's watching on DVD) and actually look forward to my workouts (except I'm kind of dreading Muscle Endurance tomorrow - that one really is tough for me!).

Anyway, I thought I'd chart my progress in Picturetrails for the next several months or so, mixing up these new tapes and adding in 1 (or more) pure cardio not contained within the series weekly. It gives me the motivation to actually stick with it.

Great question!

RE: What body changes, since you started Intensity Seri...

Congrats to all who are experiencing such wonderful results with this new Intensity Series! Now that the DVDs are available, I'm considering purchasing the set myself, but before I do, could someone direct me to Cathe's Body Blast Rotation? I know the gist of it, but I would like to see the EXACT suggested rotation.

Thank you in advance :)

And best of luck in your continued success with this series.
