We're In This Together *~July~*

Natty, Thank you for your positive vibe and prayers. Just heard from an organization that I blogged about today from the party last night. I told them in my contact follow up that I was going to have them in it. Don't think they believed me at first. They loved my summary of them.

Happy weekend ladies :)

Today's w/o was M3 shoulder's, tri's & bi's. It's amazing how much you're forced to engage your lower back when lifting heavy. For that reason, I had to err on the side of caution since my lower back has been achy. Simple exercises like seated concentration curls were tough, especially with a heavy weight. I have come to the conclusion that M3 may have limitations with my bad lower back :(. I will listen to my body, not push myself, and probably won't be able to go up 5% every week, but that's ok. I try to look at the positive side always, and remind myself that I'm still healthy, fit, and strong, despite some limitations ;).

Colleen
I ordered Leslie's 5 Really Big Miles. It comes with a toning band :D. I'm looking forward to incorporating some walking miles into my workout routines. Thanks again for the thread on VF ;)

Tomorrow is a beach trip

Hope you all have a wonderful rockin' weekend

Today my workout was also Disc 27. My problem doing seated concentration curls, I did something weird to my lower bicep so I had to lower weights. Back problems but not because of workouts.
Someone in my past requested connection with me on Linked in cause she is fanscinated with my blog. She's a bit older than me, very smart and together. Compliment for sure.

Natty-Good for you to listen to your body. Hopefully, I can stick on the schedule to workout. Goal is to fit TTM and CF in on off days. No VF for me.

I'm so glad to be home. It was so nice to get away, but it's so nice to come home too :) I felt so dirty (no showers), nose bleeds ( it's so dry over there) , peeling (putting on sunscreen every 3 hours is still not enough). I took a bath to soak the dirt off, then got in the showers to wash it away. We go with a huge group people about 70 or so and take turns cooking. I made lasagna and pulled pork in the dutch oven. It turned out really good. There are so many kids, and fun things to do it's like being at a camp.

I have a pretty old car, it has 250,000 miles on it (fitness is a bigger priority in my life ;)). I pull a trailer with all our camping equipment in it.
My car overheated twice, we couldn't have the AC on :( Then when we were almost there I got a flat tire. I had planned on being pretty good with eating but that went out the door because I was so stressed out driving over.

I missed my routine so much with reading all your posts.

Nat - I'm sorry about your back. I was really looking forward to your comments about the squat rack DVD. I know you won't want to hear this however, Yoga Relax really has helped my lower back. I've almost decided if I spend 60 min exercising that I should spend half that amount streching and taking care of my body. Yes it's sort of boring but it has helped. What you said about you not being afraid to say whats on your mind was funny. Once in awhile I do feel like we've gotten little glimpses of the feisty Nat. I like it! I need to be more like that.

Jen - I was so excited to read about your blogging really opening up doors for you. Your being proactive instead of reactive and in my book that is staying one step ahead of the game.

Colleen - So glad to have your back, I liked your pics you posted of your vacay. I will have to see if anybody got any good pics of us since I didnt bring a camera :( Since youve been doing HC for about a month now have you noticed a diff if your core?

So excited that Cathe is doing another spinning DVD. I really love her CF and TTM.

Sarah

Hello to my fav forum gals :)

Today we enjoyed a fun (but exhausting!) day at the beach. I'm so tired right now, I think I'll be crashing by 8pm tonight.

Sarah
Nice to have you back :).
I'm glad you had a good time on your camping trip. My whole family loves camping...but I'm the odd duck . I'm just spoiled and need luxuries like a private bathroom, a/c, my mattress, that sort of thing :). I love nature and outdoorsy type things, but at the end of the day, I like to go home (or to a motel, hotel, or resort ;)).
I'm sorry about your car troubles. Figures it would happen on a summer vacation .
I appreciate you giving me advice about Yoga Relax (really, I do). You're absolutely right, I should fit in some time for it. I just think my lower back is destroyed and beyond repair :(. All those years of unloading trucks and skids really took a toll :(. I will take your advice, thank you.

Jen
I hope your bicep is ok.
Compliments are always nice and welcomed.

Have a good night ladies :)

Hello gals!

I wanted to share a pic of Bella and I at the beach yesterday. I surprisingly look pretty decent in this pic ;). Notice how clear the water is in the background. Very beautiful.

Gotta do some laundry. Crossfire later on this evening

BBL!

I forgot to check in this weekend! We were pretty busy with Lydia's birthday party on Saturday and then yesterday was housecleaning and laundry. Busy busy! I did manage to get my workouts in, though.
Saturday was Horizontal Conditioning Bootcamp. That one is currently The Hardest Workout I own! If I can ever get through that one without pausing the dvd, I'll have to apply for my Justice League membership! I think I'd make a good Wonder Woman...:p Speaking of HC and results...I've noticed my waist is more cinched in and tighter, especially my obliques. Mark notices it too and has mentioned it! What has really suprised me though is the arm definition I've gained from these workouts. I haven't been hardly doing any weightlifting since I started doing these HC's twice a week (other than the week I was gone of course). I swear, body weight exercises can be more tough than weight lifting!
Yesterday I did Trisets lower body and 30 minutes of Paul Katami's Kettlebell Kombos. I got Paul's in a trade awhile ago and never got around to trying it. It was just okay...I prefer my kettlebell workouts to have more swings in it and this really didn't. Plus he was doing tons of lunges and after doing Trisets my tush was burned out! Feeling some serious DOMS there today! Thank goodness it's my rest day!

You look great in that picture Natty! I love Canadian lakes and rivers. You guys have the most amazing water...very little pollution compared to the US lakes. Minnesota is a little better than Wisconsin. The lakes here in Wisconsin either have so much farm run off that the algae is horribly overgrown or they are polluted with chemicals from paper manufacturing. The Mississippi river is pretty much a lavatory dump for every city it runs through :(.

Anyone else watch Breaking Bad last night? I can't wait for next Sunday already!

Welcome back Sarah! I'm glad you had fun camping! I used to enjoy camping when I was younger...that's all my family ever did for vacations...but I'm like Natty now. Give me a cabin with a toilet and a bed! I'm not so much for tents anymore:eek:. I'm getting soft! Not that I was ever tough though! lol

Jen- anything happening with that new company? I hope your bicep and back are feeling better.

Anyone else get there XTrain order in yet today? Yipee!:D

Hello Friends.

Sarah-Good to hear from you. Sorry about all the car problems. 250K on a car is great. What kind is it? Camping to me is at the Holiday Inn.

Natty-You are photogenic, anyways. Lake Ontario is a beautiful lake. Not swimming this year, undercurrent is bad here.

Colleen-Busy weekend with birthday, cleaning and working out. The Detroit River used to be the worst river in the US but Canada sued just about every business and town on the American side except my old hometown cause we didn't keep up our side of the "friendship" agreement. Now, it's one of the cleanest rivers in the country.

Today, I begin week 2 of M3. It took me about 15 min to presale last night, the server dropped cause so many were on there at the same time. Mad that my local supermarket, which has its corporate about 7 miles away, quit selling frozen ground turkey. Its cheaper than Jenni-O. So, I went to another local supermarket who carries it.
My group from my former program aren't being helpful with info. for my blog on an event. I don't think they're jealous, no reason to. I think its more I'm acting outside the "label" I was given. They thought they knew me oh so well. Time to job hunt. Should be hearing fomr the CA company by next week. Last time, he told me he would compensate me for my work enough for me to be off of unemployment. So, hopefully, next call will be salary, job definition and start dates. He has seen the flurry of activity on Linked in about my blog.

You guys should post pics too! I would love to see them, honestly.

I did not jump on the pre-sale yet. I'm going to wait until it slows down a bit. What's the rush? I'm getting downloads anyway and will have them on the first day :D.

Colleen
Happy birthday to Lydia! How old is she now, 5? Time flies when you're a parent :(. Heck, time flies when you pass 25 and have no kids :(. I would never go back to that age though. I feel like the best years are still ahead waiting for me.
Watching Breaking Bad tonight!!!! Don't say anything about it .
Congrats on your HC results! I'm sure you look like one hot tamale ;). Yes I agree, body weight training is THE BEST way to get fit. If I only did push-ups, planks, chin-ups/pull-ups, my arms would look like Linda Hamilton from T2 ;).

Jen
I'm sorry to hear about what's going on :(. I hate people, I really do...well not all, but you get my drift. I hope the man from the CA company gives you that break.
BTW, that was not Lake Ontario I went to. It was a bay, not sure which one though . Your pics on FB (Ann Harbor?) look beautiful too.

Have a great day ladies :)

Nat - That is a good pic of you. Your waste looks itty bitty.

Here is a pic of me taken while on a camping trip, having a margarita, it was formal night and I had forgotten to bring anything to dress up. So I made a bow tie out of duct tape that I found in the car.

OMG Sarah, you look FABULOUS! Holy arms girl . Your DH and children should be very proud to have a hot mamma like you! Change your avatar pic and show what you've got ;)

Hello ladies :)

Yesterday's w/o was Crossfire...wait for it...Triple Tabata premix . This consists of Plyo Tabata, Firewalker Tabata and Low Impact Tabata. 30min of my heart beating in my throat. My body looked like it just got out of the shower. Tough stuff :D. I attempted to add the fitness blast section which is only 15min, but I got 5min in and called it a day.

Today's w/o is back and chest. I have a feeling I will have to lower all my weight for my back exercises :(.

Have a rockin' day ladies

Good Morning Friends.
Today is Tuesday and it could reach 100 here again.

Sarah-You look great. No one should mess with you with those arms.
Natty-You look great too, like I said, Cathe needs you on her crew.
Colleen-Hope your week is going well.

My goal workout is to do squat rack with my fan on. Yesterday, I did disc 30 with the weighted gloves so it was my 5% although my week 4 I may increase more.
Blog news, I went to an incubator kitchen last night. The owner is going to send me info. so ppl that are laid off could start catering in a commercial kitchen or bake cupcakes and sell them to stores. Last night, a guy who is a florist and sells Melaluca was pushing me to give him another person's number. Not going to do it. The person is interested and will call on his own. No word from the company yet, kinda depressed, but lots of good stuff is happening though. 10 more days, I go to Charlevoix that's what the picture is on Facebook.

Have a Great Day everyone!!

JT

Hi ladies :)

Oh boy, record breaking high for today. Smog alerts and extreme heat advisories in effect. Seniors and small children are at risk the most, so no outside for Bella and I today.

I wanted to share a recipe with you guys that I quickly whipped up. You know how I have a big sweet tooth and always looking for healthy ways to satisfy it right? Well I made a pretty tasty, high protein and healthy chocolate crepe w/faux whipped cream and strawberries.

For the Crepe:
-3 egg whites (or egg white in the carton)
-1/4 scoop of chocolate protein power. If you don't like protein power, perhaps melt dark chocolate.
-1/2 tsp baking soda
-1tsp vanilla
-1tsp shredded unsweetened coconut

Mix everything together and add to hot pan sprayed with cooking spray. The batter is quite thin, which is how crepes are supposed to be.

**you can fidget with this and make all ingredients according to taste**

For the faux-whipped cream:

-2-3 tbls of ricotta (fat free or light if preferable)
-2-3 tbls of greek yogurt
-stevia to sweeten

Add all ingredients and mix well.

Once crepe is done, pour in your whipped cream center, sprinkle with strawberries (or any berry!) and viola! It's very tasty and can be easily modified. I'm thinking it's around 250cal, maybe less.

BBL!!!

Natty,
Your recipe sounds delicious!! Chocolate, strawberries and whipped topping, GOOD!!

Hello ladies!

Today was CSS premix with the bonus step. Such a great low impact hour of cardio:). I think tomorrow may have to be an HC day and then Thursday maybe CF less impact premix. Sunday began my two week low impact time (ttotm) so I'm going to ge a good girl and stick to that.;)

I don't have any recent full body pics of me to post...maybe I'll have to have Mark take one. I'll never be happy with any bathing suit picture, that's for sure! I feel like my legs and butt look good in pants/jeans but I just hate how my thighs look in a bathing suit:(. I have yet to find a bottom that flatters my figure...skirt/skort ones and boy shorts make my legs look even shorter than they are (and they are disproportionately short!) and I really can't pull off a high rise bikini bottom with any confidence either, although that's probably the better look to lengthen the little stubby things I stand on!:p Hehehehehe

Natty and Sarah- you guys look great in your pics! I love the duct tape bow tie Sarah. lol You arms look fabulous too! Whoo hoo!

Jen- Mark's cousin used to sell Melaluca! I liked the products but disliked their business practices. It was like a cult/pyramid scheme almost and you had to sign up for automatic shipment on your products. We opted out after a few months as I just wasn't comfortable with it.

Gotta run! Later ladies!

Your recipe look great Nat, and I love crepes. Is this one you will be entering to win?

Thanks for your encouraging comments on the arms. Makes me feel good. Yes, my husband is very proud. My kids are always telling me to flex for diff. people, but I can't tell if it's proud or they think I'm some sort of freak. :p

Yesterday I did Cyclemax and felt like I was going to puke several times. One week and I already feel like I lost a little off my fitness level. Today was Pyramid UB. Holy Cow, I kept up weight wise until the 8 repers @ 15lbs. fo biceps and there was just nothing there. So I went down to 13. Better luck next time. I think I'm gonna stick with Pyramids for a month.

I read the article on over traing Nat that you posted. Do you suppose that is why I haven't had a period? I'm thinking, its a good possibilty. After I finished that last round of STS I never took a rest week.

I feel a little guilty you guys have such hot weather. We are at about 80 everyday here.

Jen- Don't get upset, just keep doing what your doing. Doors are opening and eventually there will be one that stays open.

Colleen- You are being an enabler again. Those were pretty sound endorsements for HC.

Sarah

Hello Friends.
Posting this from my phone so I will be more thorough on Wednesday. Today, I found my alpha cat sleeping in my sunroom. It has a/c but quite warm. He was fine.
Squatted 52 pounds with a 20lb weighted vest and the gloves and 30lb barbell today with STS. I can go a little higher.
Good news, another possible job opp from Linked in plus someone I met from networking last week wants to meet up.
Plus, TEDx from another city is following me on Twitter. Not used to the attention but very grateful. God has blessed me.

It is good to take breaks from working out. Sometimes less is more. I'm taking Wed and Thurs off this week. My knee was funny today.

No full length pics here. No swimsuits either. You all look great!

Will post in detail Wed. AM.
