We're In This Together *~July~*

No workout today. :)

Saturday I was inspired by Sarah to pull out PLB and do it for the first time! I've had the Pyramid dvd for well over a year and had only done the upper body one so I finally deflowered that virgin! :D Lots-o-DOMS! My calves are still sore today:eek:. Then yesterday I did HC volume 3. I was going to try and add on Cathe's TTM less impact premix but I was wiped out and only got 12 minutes in before I called it a day. Yesterday was one of those weird lazy days around our house where nothing much gets done and the day just slips by. I didn't even get around to working out until almost 4:00!

Today was the first day of summer school for the kids and Lydia's first time riding the bus! So cute. :) The district offers a 3 week summer school program and I have always signed Dylan up for it. I actually wish they had year round school where they spread the breaks out througout the year (2 weeks of breaks at a time) and then just take a 6 week summer break. I think that would be so much better for routines, keeping the kids from sliding backwards so much in their learning, as well as allow us to take more winter vacations! It makes it hard to take a week long vacation to Florida during the winter if you have to pull the kids out of school for it. I just don't feel comfortable doing that:(.

Better get ready for work! later girls!

Sarah-I LOVE black rasberry jam!

Colleen-Sundays are great for being lazy. Pulling kids out of school can be a pain. My brother's school and many others around here have mid-winter breaks.

Today, I got my unemployment figured out plus I have a phone interview with a company I'm not thrilled about cause the money doesn't equal my experience. Hoping to seal the deal with the company from CA soon. Also, Detroit is hiring big for social media.
Hoping to do squat tonight with increase my load by 10lbs. After STS is done, I will focus on TTM and CF for awhile with LIS.

Hello gals :)

Long day for me. I had my sis and mom over :(. As soon as they left (6:30pm) I ran and did TTM 30/20 hiit to relieve some stress. I was too tired to add anything to that sucker. Doing it without modifications, using the same step height as Cathe, same amount of reps, no extra breaks, is killer hard.

I will write personals tomorrow morning. Going to watch Breaking Bad

Have a good night :)

Natty, how awful to deal with that amount of stress. Thank God Cathe was there to help you thru it. Congrats on doing it like Cathe.

Good morning ladies :)

Jen
What a bummer that guy you were friends with is acting like an A-hole. Yup, sure way to lose friends. You are too good for him anyway :)
Yay! You have almost completed STS! Your progress has been very impressive. I'm so proud of ya ;)
When it's done, what weight training workouts are you going to do?
I'm sorry you had to cancel the interview. Probably turned out better in your favor anyway.

Sarah
The day with your son sounded lovely. I love crafts/pottery, all that kind of stuff.
Ughh, don't get a Ford IMO. Found On Road Dead! We've had bad experiences with them. Get yourself a nice little Japanese vehicle :D. Great on gas too :D (I bet you just rolled your eyes at that one ;)).
Leslie DVD's would probably be just perfect for your mom. You can chose to walk up to 5 miles. There are so many beginner ones that start out at 3 miles, with no toning sections. The more advanced ones have little walking boosts and a faster pace. The music is good too.

Colleen
I totally agree with you about the school vacations thing. Spreading out the weeks during the year would be better, for both the parents and children.
I hope the kids have a wonderful time at Summer School. Bella has been asking me to put her in Daycare . We walk past one when we go to the park, and I jokingly said I was going to take her there and leave her for the day. She said "ok mommy, just leave and get me after". Kids say cute stuff :). She also called me a "mean a**hole", but we won't get into that .

One more thing, STOP ENABLING YOU GUYS WITH PUB/PLB!!!

Have a great day :)

There is another thread about PUB/PLB too, so don't read it Nat (go read it Nat) ;).

FORD - FIRST ON RACE DAY! I thought everybody knew that :D We will buy a Ford when possible. The only reason reason why I wouldn't, would be if I decide to get another minivan

I took another day off  That was weird the comp. just added that icon on it's own. That was exactly how I was feeling. The day just kind of got away from me. The really bad part was my eating too. I made a frozen pizza for dinner. I can honestly say I've never ever done that before.

Nat- You make me feel slightly guilty. You have you mom over quite a bit, even though it stresses you out. I see my mom all the time, but the in-laws thats a completely diffrent story. They make me feel like a want to sit and hit my head against the wall again and again.:(

Jen- Sorry you had to cancel an interview, that sucks. Have you found out anymore on this new guy that interests you?

I like like the school year how it is now. The shorter breaks more often just go by too fast. My niece had it that way for several years but recently they changed it back to the old way. I do think most kids do slip backwards in the summer time though. My kids would kill me if I signed them up for summer school. They are signed up for a Physical education program m-t 9-11, they havent attened one class yet  I just don't want them to feel like they have to rush around all the time  So if they don't want to thats fine by me. They are already dreading having to go back to school. Me on the otherhand, is a diffent story ;)

Sarah

Hello Friends.
Natty-Yes, I LOVE PUB/PLB. I do have it. I like the way it goes up then down with weights and decrease/increase reps.
Sarah-My Grandfather was an engineer at Ford back in the day when Detroit was the cool city to live in the US, late 60s-early 70s. I would drive one but I've had better luck with Honda.
Colleen-Hope your day is going well.

One more week till STS then work on TTM and CF. Glad I cancelled the interview. I went to a job support group today and a board member of my former employer was there. He thought I got a job with another financial institution. I told him I was sick of the rumors coming out of there cause it's havok in my life to deal with it. He ran to the credit union to let them know, I'm sure. The leader of the group was impressed with my blog and where my future is heading. My friend, I will be his friend but no more. The new one isnt' interested as far as I know. No word lately from the company in CA. This is normal though.

Good morning ladies :)

So far I'm enjoying the freedom from STS (did I just admit that?). Yesterday's w/o was STS TB UB premix (30min) + add-on compound back (5min) + add-on compound chest/shoulder's/tri's (5min). If you guys have never done those add-on premixes, they are a nice little addition to the workout, really fatiguing the muscles. I'm bloody sore today :)

Jen
Yup, Honda is where it's at ;)
Good for you to speak up! It takes a lot of courage to do that.
I'm happy your blog is getting such positive reviews and exposure.

Sarah
I never heard that about Ford...hmmm...I guess it's a Canadian thing ;)
Actually Sarah, I don't have my mother over a lot. Last time she was over, she witness the murder of my Sea Monkey's, and that was 1 month ago (maybe more). I feel the same, I want to bang my head against a wall too...actually worse...it involves torturing her Mafia-Style.
We eat frozen pizza whenever we're craving pizza but don't want to spend the big $$ for take-out.

Have a great day gals

Morning ladies!

Yesterday was Afterburn and today will be Athletic Training! I swear, I feel like the Horizontal Conditioning workouts are making me better at doing Cathe's workouts (not to enable Sarah anymore! :D). With my core being stronger, it seems to make so many other movements easier. Like for example with running man in AB, I found it didn't slay me nearly as much as it used to and I could do the more advanced move with the hands (touching down on the floor instead of keeping the hands up). I can also do the burpee/push up/jacks with two push ups instead of just one (also with the dragging planks). Yay!

I know what you mean about the freedom from STS, Natty. The funny thing is...a few weeks afterwards I was suddenly craving the structure again! lol I was thinking today about my workouts and it's just so funny...I have so many by other instructors that I really do love, and yet (other than doing HC twice a week) I find I am always grabbing Cathe. I went through a phase right after STS where I was doing lots of my other instructors for a few weeks but now I'm right back to gravitating to Cathe and the others just sit there neglected for the most part! There is just something special about that lady! Can you guys believe she's 48??

I'm really excited about XTrain now because I love the idea of a weightlifting program like STS but with shorter workouts. The one thing about STS that makes it such a commitment is the length of the workouts and the plethora of equipment. I'm so excited to see how she puts this new set together!!

Jen and Natty- I'm a Toyota girl too:eek:. I love my Camry (on my second one, my husband is still driving the first one). I had a Ford Taurus in college and while it held up okay considering the mileage the transmission went out while I was driving home from college...leaving me abandoned in Rockford Illinois all by myself at a gas station:confused:. It was pretty traumatic! My dad had to drive the 5 hours to come get me and then we had to go back later in the week to haul the sucker home to get repaired. Not a cheap repair for a college girl! Luckily, my dad knew someone with a salvage yard who was able to take a tranny out of another taurus on his lot so we saved a lot of money that way.

Sarah- I totally hear ya on disliking the run run run of having the kids involved with stuff. Luckily, with summer school the bus just picks the kids up at the house and drops them off at daycare at noon so we can just pick them up like we normally do. I could never be one of those mom's who have the kids involved in every sport and extracurricular activity on the planet. I got stressed enough with Lydia's dance and Dylan being in indoor soccer this winter. That was puhlenty for me! Dylan hated soccer, too and is really resistant to doing stuff like that. I'm trying to get him to do at least one thing a year now, but it's a struggle. He's like mom and just likes to hang out and home and relax, not run around. I know it's good for them to have those experiences though, so I keep on plugging:eek:.

TTYL!

Good Morning Friends.
On the car thing, I've had my Honda for about 6 years. Prior, VW Jetta II GS, although it had problems mechnically. I loved the car. Before that, Toyota Corolla from 19 miles to 99619. 9 years. College was a Chevy Cavalier, Monte Carlo. High School was a Ford Pinto.
The person from my former employer asked to be a connection on Linked in, I turned it down. He wasn't the most friendliest yesterday and he will tell my former employer everything. Its not my goal to be associated with them.
Craving food for one more week with STS. Only 3 to go.

Natty-Yes, I understand your freedom from STS. Its a workout only meant once a year.
Never did STS TB yet.

Colleen-Your core will make you do anything better. Love AB and AT!! Camrys are great cars, my sister has had two. She has an older one with low mileage in upstate NY, ppl look at the car when she's driving it like ppl look at a Mustang GT here. Your Dad is great!!! 5 hour drive. Wow!! Yep, I heard about the transmissions on those cars.

Sarah-Hope life is treating you well. Its good that you don't have your kids signed up for everything. My neice has a schedule this summer that is crazy but she gets to be with her friends.

Today, another support group, GOD only knows who will be there. Plus, event tonight. My UIA benes came through. Emailed a high-tech company in Detroit about an informational interview. I think CA will come together. The person whom I've been talking to has SO Much happening with the business expanding.

Bumping this up.
Came back from the network event. Basically, it was a great time. A little bit of crap from my former internship, the one whom got drunk and embarrassed herself about one month ago, but it only made her look bad.
One more meeting tomorrow then chilling the rest of the day.

Good morning ladies :)

I love early morning silence. To eat my breakfast and drink my coffee in peace, is usually taken for granted. I'm relishing in this moment.

Yesterday was a very stressful day for me. We were confined to the house because Bella has been having #2 problems. Ever since that constipation bout 1 1/2 months ago, she hasn't been the same with her bathroom habits. She is pretty much afraid to poop and so I think she tries to hold it in when feeling the urge. She does not want me to see or wipe her afterwards telling me she is afraid I'm going to hurt her. My heart breaks for that little thing. I'm going to continue to take the doctor's advice, which was to not give her any form of laxative or enema, and she will eventually go on her own (this proved true last time).

I decided to pull out a M2 leg disc yesterday (d13?14?15?). My legs/butt are surely talkin' to me today:eek:

Colleen
Your HC workouts proved to be a wise choice ;). I'm so happy that your core is stronger and making Cathe workouts easier. How are your lower abs? See, that's my problem. I just think it's extra skin from my pregnancy unfortunately.
Cathe is definitely a magnet. No one really compares to her. Now that I've done STS, my standards are so high for weight training video's and I don't think I can go back to another instructor. Her workouts are more costly, but so worth it on every level imaginable. One day I will show Mark what I've learned and how conditioned I am by that remarkable trainer. He has no clue.
I'm excited for shorter weight training workouts too!! M3 was a killer, some discs being 70min long .

Jen
Are you hungrier than usual Jen? I find my hunger goes up/down on certain days.
I'm glad your networking event went well.
We are big Honda & Japanese car people here. They make very reliable vehicles. My aunts Honda CRV is 12 years old, rarely any problems and still kickin'.

Have a great day everyone :)

Nat- I am so with you on the early morning peace. I had remembered the previous time you mom had visited, but I guessed it seemed like it wasnt that long ago :(

I think I gonna have to start doing some of these premixes you keep talking about. They havwe me curious, and I have never done a premix.

Jen- I glad your still think CA will come together. OMG a Ford Pinto. Holy canoli thats a blast from the past. If that had been my only experience with a Ford, I may not ever have gone back either.

Fortunantly, my 1st car (Ford Fiesta) took a licken (I did no maintence on that little sucker) and kept on ticken. Plus my husbands firsy card was an old 64 Ford Fairlane. We never had issues. Then we got other cars like a Toyota Supra, Honda CRV, Honda Accord, Honda Oddessy and all them ended up with quirky problems. Especially the Honda's every one of them had wierd electrical problems.

I swear I'm ordering that suck today Colleen. I will only go for one though. So the question is which one?

Collen thats awesome that the school bus then takes the kiddos to DC.

Tuesday I had gone to Zumba with my mother. Then in the afternoon I got PO at my parents so I decided to pump some iron afterall. I did PUB. I was to tired and shaky afterwards to be angry with them. There cat was stuck in a tree (which they blame my dog for getting her their). Si what do they do? They send my 76 year old father up a 12ft. ladder. My father has post polio, has a brace on one of his legs, and walk with a cane. Then he looses his balance and apparently is hanging from one of the limbs of the tree with no ladder under him. Then, this is the kicker, they tell my 3 kids not to tell mommy what they did! Thanks for letting me vent.

Yesterday was Cyclemax. Then I got way to motivated and made homemade hamburger buns, and ground my own beef for hamburgers. Then made a special sauce that had mayo, garlic, soy, brown sugar, and chives. It was good. Puts such a diff. spin on the usual old burger.

Hello ladies! Checking in with Volume 1 HC today. I like this one a lot, except I think I need to buy a body bar. I hate to spend money on yet another fitness gadget, though! What I've done with this one is I substitute my barbell (minus the plates) for the moves with the body bar that she uses but my barbell is so dang long it makes some of those moves awkward. We'll see...maybe if I can find one super cheap I'll pick it up but I'm trying to hold off!

Speaking of HC...Sarah- if I were to get just one HC workout, I'd have to say Volume 2 is my favorite. I just love the moves on that one. I do have to admit though, that I seem to be in the minority on VF as most folks seem to say Volume 3 is their favorite. I guess you can take my thoughts with a grain of salt ;). Volume 4 and Bootcamp are super crazy hard, so you'd probably want to work up to those. I enabled one of the girls in my other check in to get the HC's and she went out and got the Bootcamp one and tried that first! I think she's a little scared off now to try the rest!

That is so crazy about your dad! How scary! Thank goodness he didn't get hurt. I worry about my own dad sometimes. He's 66 and he's a logger and a farmer. As a logger (think Paul Bunyan lol...that's what all my high school boyfriends used to call him!), he still scales these trees like he's a teenager or something. It's great that he's still fit enough to do that, but I worry he doesn't pay attention to his limitations. Logging is considered one of...if not the most dangerous job a person can have. Can't tell him anything though. Love my dad but he's VERY stubborn!

Natty- I'm so sorry about Bella's issues! I have totally been there :(. It is so tough when the kids are suffering. Lydia had tons of issues with her bottom and eliminating. She is prone to terrible yeast infections and has had trouble with constipation in the past, too. I have noticed since I cut down on her dairy she seems to be better in that department, though. As far as my lower abs, I still have the loose post-pregnancy skin unfortunately. It's not as bad as it could be but it's still there. Also, you know the old saying "abs are made in the gym but revealed in the kitchen?"...yeah, my core is rock solid but forget about revealing that cool 6 pack . Every once in awhile I'll see some definition peek through and then I'll eat something salty or have a beer and it quickly disappears beneath that little layer of fat and/or bloat that sits on top of the muscle! LOL Oh well, at least my stomach stays relatively flat most of the time and I mostly love the functional benefits I'm getting with these workouts...so it's all good!

Jen- omg, the Ford Pinto. LOL Definitely takes me back to my childhood! I was curious if Dallas is still in the realm of possiblities? Were you still considering that or is the blog successful enough that you think it may not be necessary?

Gotta run! Have a great day everyone!

Hello Friends,
My Pinto was a 1973, the explosive one. It was painted MSU green. He paid $25 for it from an intern at the hospital. It was a great running car mechanically expect for the gas tank. He put about $800 to make it legal. MSN Auto should have pics of it on its site.

My appetitite has been up/down the whole time with STS. In one week, I'll focus on TTM and CF before deciding what to do next.
Got to spend time with a cohort from my program in Lansing today. Her and I didn't have a chance to get to know one another. My blog interested her.
Dallas will be back in October pending the blog and my potential job. Novi, near Detroit, is back in though.

Natty-My sister had a rough time with Morgan for a bit. Eventually, things will work out. Stress can inhibit bodily functions. M2 yesterday?? Yes, I can relate to your DOMS.
Love the quiet mornings too.

Sarah-Grandparents and kids. Trouble. My Mom always knew something would happen when they would be gone. Last summer at Venetian, my BIL told my Mom not to let Morgan ride on this ride at the carnival-so she did like 10 times. Your dinner sounds great. CM is a great workout. Not too many problems with my Civic, not electrical.

Colleen-I feel I need to order HC but it looks so hard. My abs need some work though.

Hello ladies :)

Yesterday I did Rhythmic Step. I thought of you Colleen because after it was done, my right knee felt achy. I'm still new to learning the choreo, so all those twisty moves does aggravate my knee a bit.

Rough night for me. Bella stayed up until 12:00am trying to go to the bathroom. She finally did, and called it a "great poo" :D...which it was. All this sleep deprivation is right up there in the Top 5 Reason's Bella Will Be An Only Child. I'm not kidding BTW.

Today's plan was to go watch Batman (without child of course). I'm so tired, but I'll stick with going. At least it's at 12pm and not later on in the evening. I'm pretty sure I would pass out in the theatre  (the spell check is giving me a correction for theatre, but that's how well spell it here in Canada, so too bad, I'm not changing it).

Sarah
I'm sorry to hear about your dad! I'm glad he is ok though, OMG how scary!
Your burgers sounded awesomely tasty. If you came to cook for us here, I'm pretty sure my husband would divorce me and ask you to marry him ;). A way to a person's heart is through their stomach :).

Colleen
I always wanted to get some body bars. I think they have them on Amazon ;).
I'm sorry to hear Lydia had the same problems along with Yeast Infections :(.
I'm in awe of women that do not have any post-pregnancy loose skin. I always convince myself they have had a "little help" ;).
Now you are making me want those workouts too! I just hate, HATE plank stuff! The original planks, slide planks are ok, but mountain climbers and plank jacks just make me want to die.

Jen
I'm glad you had a good time with your new acquaintance. I love how social and friendly you are.
I think you should just break down and buy the HC workouts ;)

Have a good one ladies!

Natty-Yes, thanks for enabling me. I will do more research on them but they do look hard.

Getting ready to get on the road in about one hour or less. My cat-sitter showed up finally last night after I spent her pay so I had to get it again. Lots of fog and threat of severe rain today, of course.

BBL on my DROID.

I did To the Max today. That last Tabata is really tough at the end of all the other stuff. I really the the core training also.

Nat - I loved your top 5 reasons for Bella being the only one. I'm glad she had a great poo. I'm sorry it was midnight :(

My husband never wanted kids, so when I got prego I was thinking just one also. Then twins, then oopsie TJ . It all happened so fast. Now they are growing up so fast :(

Today I made raspberry sherbert. It is sooooo good. But Raspberries are my fav berry. I also made a fresh berry gratin with raspberries and blueberries but I havent tried it yet, so we will see. There are berries coming out our asses right now.

I wish I had decent internet I would be all over the livestreaming. But if I was I will exceed our threshold :( SUCKS

OMG, my father is the most stubborn Colleen. He laid an entire driveway wil gravel with buckets on his hands and knees. He does all his work sitting on his butt because he legs. He got polio when he was 11 and his legs look like 11 year old boys legs. Very awkward looking

Sarah

Good morning ladies :)

Very quick post...(will write personals later)

Today's workout will be High Reps UB premix (30min) + TBT UB express premix (20min).

Tomorrow be be High Reps LB premix (20min) + 4DS Higher Intensity Step (30min).

I was going to take a day off tomorrow, but my eating has been kinda crappy these past few days and I feel bloated and stressed from all of the issues going on with Bella. Today I can feel my nerves shot, I'm a bit shaky. I'm also jealous that my aunt, uncle, cousins, and a whole slew of other people are in Miami right now waiting to board on their cruise ship for a nice 7 day Caribbean holiday. I am, I am totally jealous. I really needed the vacation :(. Oh well, you have good days and bad.

Have a great weekend ladies
