We're in This Together***Jan 2-Jan31st**

Oy what a horrible night :(. Bella got a cough/cold and was up coughing and sniffling the entire night. I think I was woken up pretty much every hour on the hour. I feel like a zombie today :(.

Yesterday's lunch went just as I expected . It is what it is unfortunately.

My w/o yesterday evening was Step Moves. I have the entire choreo down except for this frustrating 5-count move across the step, which I can't for the life of me, seem to get . As I feel more comfortable with dancy-choreo, I find myself moving my hips and swaying, instead of just going through the motions. As I've learned to relax, my movements seem much more fluid. I also become more in-tuned with the music. Step Moves has rockin' music!

Marie
Ya, I know first hand about those types of "comments" regarding how mother's are basically doomed to look like crap after having kids . I was looking at my old Cuba pics (before I had Bella, in my early 20's). I was surprised at how different I look! I think I must have weighed my lowest at 105lbs, but I look so much "bigger" than I do now! My UB had practically 0 muscle definition, and my legs look no where near as toned as they are now. So it is possible to look better after having children :). Anyway, good for you proving all those naysayer's wrong! You GO girl!

Colleen
I'm sorry to hear about the drama this w/e with your mom and sis :(.
Cancun is gonna be freaking awesome . So many of my relatives have gone to the Mayan, and absolutely adored it. Canadian's love Mexico (even though some of us got murdered there . I personally think it was Mafia related, but we won't get into that). Make sure you take lots of pics!!!

Have a good day everyone!

Hello Friends.

Natty. Hope you get some much needed rest today plus Bella feels better soon. Glad you got your workouts in prior.

Sarah. Hope life is treating you well.

Marie. Although I'm not a parent, I've heard those stories for many years. If you have the determination, it will get done which you do. Kudos to you!!

Colleen. Sorry about your family drama, I know it all too well.

Update.
Today, I will confess my Mom's and I relationship goes thru hills and valleys always. I believe my parents think love is a form of control. Around Christmas, she told me that my DSL was mad at me about my Holiday plans. My Mom encourages NOT to contact my DB and fam cause they have two kids disabled and are busy. But, at Christmas, I was ticked so I did. My DSL and I had a good chat. She was NEVER mad at me and stated she had never been before. It was like, "why would I be angry with you?" Now, my mother is playing that one of her friends sees my postings on FB and she's getting asked questions about my stuff. Although, she never state one definite post. I told her my profile and postings were blocked. She thinks she's an expert on the site. My postings are only public on open sites. I check my name on Google always. Honestly, if I used my real name on Twitter, that would've been an issue. One year, things were so bad that I spent Christmas at my apt with my cat and loved it. So, my folks know they can only push so far.
With all that, I know my parents will co-sign for me this time for DFW. They are tense I would have to move to their house with my cats. Nothing is happening in MI for jobs. My gut is telling me that DFW will be spot-on for me. My goal is to stay with Ft. Worth so my area will be that city. The rest will be for adventures except for IKEA in Frisco.
Thanks for letting me vent. My workouts are outside with shoveling. Might finish my rotation before my trip.

Yesterday I spent the day running errands. I felt exhausted by the time I got home and was ready for the couch and an evening of Breaking Bad. I sit here here with laundry piled up on the kitchen table needing to be folded. As well as a sink full of dishes that need to be done. However all I can think about is to start exercising or not. Yes I know there is no hurry, Blah Blah Blah. But I was doing so good and now I feel pissed off.

Nat - I'm so sorry about you sleepness night. I can't tell you the amount of times I have been there. Just think of how good it will feel to be back in your bed with no interruptions. I seriously lay in my bed sometimes and repeat how much I love it. : )

Jen - Isn't it funny, family dynamics. My husband always asks "what does that person have to gain from saying or doing blank". I always say maybe nothing maybe they are just crazy and want to mess with me.

Colleen - I hope you have such a great vacation with your family. When you get back, I was trying to remember the sweet potatoe soup recipe from last year. Maybe I just go through your old postings. That stuff was good.

Marie - LoMax is one of my sentimental favs. It was my first step DVD. I did that one often for a very long time. Congrats to your friend. How fun to have friends to go through motherhood with. I honestly dropped everybody, except for family. My husband has been my BF for about 20 years. I only ever had 1-2 good girlfriends and have lost them, due to a lot of different reasons one being I live out in the middle of no where. I also am not sure if I had to get up that early to exercise if I would be able to do it. So you kick butt!

Sarah

TTM this morning! Felt real nice to burn off my cereal binge the night before.

We had a playdate this morning. Oh and OMG I can't believe I almost forgot to mention it. B rolled over for the first time last night! I was such a proud mama. I cried....oh the hormones! So anyways, this baby we had a playdate with today rolled over for the first time today. So exciting!

At work now and just watching the clock tick. All the patients are in bed. Charting is done. I'm ready to leave...

Sorry, just a quick check in for me tonight. I can't think...tired....and I have to give report to the overnight nurses.

BB tomorrow :)

Hey girlies! I just finished HC Bootcamp. Whew! It's been at least 2 months since I did this one. Still pausing a lot. :p

I gotta run and finish getting packed up before we go. I wanted to let you know Sarah I found that recipe again for you. Here it is:

Chicken Sweet Potato soup/chili
3-4 cooked chicken breasts (diced)
2 cans white canellini or navy beans (I happened to have 1 can of each in the pantry)
1 can diced green chilis
2 sweet potatoes (diced), or about 2 cups
4-5 cups chicken broth
1/2-1 tsp cinnamon
1 tblsp cumin or chili powder, or to taste (I used Emerils southwest seasoning)
1/2 tsp chipotle powder
1 small onion diced
1 10 oz pkge chopped frozen spinach
1 tblsp olive oil

I hope everybody has a great week!! Miss ya all! :D

My inside connection for my dream job has abruptly ended. So I emailed the interviewer for a response and none.
My dream job will not happen. Very bummed.

Jen - I would be bummed too. But you still have tons of things brewing in DFW. Hang tough!

Nat - Since we havent heard from you, I am thinking poor Bella is indeed sick. That means you are getting very little rest. I hope you dont end up getting sick. I was lurking on your other check-in. The jerk chicken sounds oh so good. I will have to try that one. Are you just really good about portion control even when you make something that is so so good?

Thanks so much Colleen for the recipe.

Marie - b turned over! Before you know it he will be crawling. Cereal binge? I did that yesterday too. GG and Cheerios. The GG were really bad, I know.

So I took yesterday off too, my hubby kind of made me. I am still coughing up a lot of yuck. But today I went ahead and did X-Train CBS, I figured since its not cardio I would be fine. I kicked my ass. I barely managed to finish 6 sets. Everybody was right, and I feel like a child.

Sarah

HAVE A GREAT VACA COLLEEN!!!!!

Sarah
OMG the jerk chicken recipe!! I meant to post it here too . I must have forgotten :(. Sometimes my mind is here, there, everywhere. I will post the link at the end for everyone :). Regarding the portion control, yes I think I am very good (all in all, most of the time ;)). My thing is that I load my plate with veggies first, then meat, then carbs. If you are loading up on veggies, it's hard to consume more carbs. I might have another 1/2 piece of protein, but I rarely if ever go seconds on rice, noodles, pasta, ect. I've been this way since I was 20yrs old, so it's just habit for me. That's why I love all my foods in moderation, and don't exclude anything. I just can't live that way. I love food far too much to think of them as "bad" and deprive myself.
Why do you feel bad about CBS kicking your butt? It kicked mine and I was not even sick . I hope you continue to feel better :). And I understand you feeling pissed off because XT got derailed.

Marie
Congrats on B rolling over! How exciting! Before you know it, he'll be walking like a champ :).
I love cereal. All cereal. Even Fruit Loops .

Jen
:) I'm SO sorry. Was this the job in TX? {{{hugs}}}.

Yes, Bella is indeed sick. Last night was a bit better, but certainly not great. Mark was home today so I was able to get my w/o in during the day. I did Cardio Leg Blast and went HEAVY. I used 25lbs for almost every weighted exercise. At one point, my forearms wanted to give out :(. They were hurting sooo badly. My legs however, felt nothing . Mark suggests I try wrist straps to take the pressure off my forearms. We'll see...

If anyone is interested, here is a knock-out jerk chicken recipe :
GRACE - Genuine Caribbean Taste

I use thighs or legs because the meat is so much more tender. I also brown it in my pan or oven (nice golden color) and then put it in my crock pot for 5-6hrs on low. For the "peas" I use black-eye peas, but you can use red kidney beans.

Enjoy!

Asked to speak in a month about job hunting and social media but not necessarily Linked In. Finally got confirmation on my rejection letter twice today.

Jen - As if you needed to hear twice that you you didnt get a job. Jerks!

Nat - I will make that Jerk chicken hopefully this weekend. I picked up my thighs today. I agree about thighs especially if they are going into a slow cooker. Thanks.

Today I did part of Hard Strikes. I just felt weak and not into it. My eating is in the crapper today as well. Where is this wagon I was on?

Sarah

LIS LIC for me this morning. I hadn't done that one in awhile and was sort of tripping over my feet trying to remember the moves.

B and I went to a retirement party for a lady I work this this afternoon. He was the hit of the party :)

I got new shoes!!!! Super pumped. Ryka's! I usually an Asic's girl but thought I'd try something new. They were 40% off at DSW....gotta love a sale. They felt good this morning.

Natasha- LOVE your new signature. Couldn't agree more! Thanks for posting that recipe....YUM!!!

Sarah- Nice job on HS. No worries that you didn't do it all.......some is better than none. It's so hard to get back on the wagon, at least for me, but you'll be there again soon.

Jen- So sorry to hear about that job. Beyond frustrating. Hope something comes your way very soon.

Colleen- Have a wonderful vacation!!!!!!!!! Thanks for posting that recipe. I love sweet potatoes!

Hi everyone :)

I had a rough night on Tues, so no workout for me yesterday :(. Last night I slept a bit better so I will attempt to do XT CBS. It will probably be a half-hearted attempt, but oh well. I will also try and take a walk with Bella since the temps are very pleasant these days. I CAN'T WAIT FOR SUMMER!!!

Jen

Are you still going to TX now?
Oh, and I'm sorry about the situation with you and your mom. I completely sympathize :(.

Sarah
Let me know how you like the Jerk Chicken :p.
I think after the flu it can take quite some time for your body to feel 100%. You'll get back on the wagon, don't worry :). Why not (just a thought) do some lighter/easier w/o's (not XT)? Maybe a few total body w/o's 3X/week, and then gradually building back up to XT.

Marie
I thought that if by chance Cathe would look at my profile, she might see my plea for more complex step :D. I doubt it will ever happen though :(. It does not seem "in demand" these days. I think us steppers are the minority . Finger's crossed anyway!
Of course B was the hit of the party! He is just too damn cute :).
Congrats on the new shoes! You DESERVE them. I must admit, after having Bella I felt guilty whenever I would purchase something for myself, like I should be spending that money on her instead. But then I was like "I still exist too! Mommy deserves a new little goodie ;)".

Have a good day ladies :)

Quick note. Will do personals Friday.

Natty. Yahoo! On the gloves. Love mine.

Today. I passed think week for all assessments of jobs I'm looking for in Texas. Big difference. Here are temp and low pay. There has larger payscale and permanent. Still bummed about the job of my dreams.
Posted on my blog about shattered dreams and broken promises on job hunting. Caused positive energy.
Hope to do presentation on social media for unemployment office too.
My "friend" and my relationship turned the corner. It might be Texas or he is realizing I'm a friend.

Everybody was right and I was wrong. I should have waited to start X-train. I still dont feel good. Last night I had the worst headache of my life I just wanted to shut my eyes. Today I cant stop coughing again. I will just walk and piddle around for the next few days and see what this Monday feels like.

New boxing gloves. Yippee for you Nat. I will let you know when I make the Jerk chicken. I need to stop doing the labeling of good and bad food. However there are some things that when I start I can't stop. Homemade bread, Pasta, Baked goods. So I do think I do better if I just don't start down that path.

Marie LIC there is a tricky move in that one towards the end if I remember right. Hope you had a good time at the reetirement party.

Jen - I didn't know you got the boxing gloves too? Postive energy is always good.

Sarah

I forgot to report my w/o for today which was XT CBS. I think my shoulder's and rear delts are getting stronger! I remember struggling with 15lbs overhead presses, and now I think I can increase my weight! Also, I matched Cathe with the 1 arm lateral raise, and even bumped it to 10lbs for the 2nd set (she stayed at 8lbs but actually said she should have gone heavier). I am going to try and get Mark's buddy to give him back his 30lbs so I can use them for the 1 arms rows. I can't believe he gave his 25lbs and 30lbs to his friends!!! I got the 25lbs back, so now I'm on a mission to get the 30lbs .

Bella is still sick. Last night was better (thank goodness!). She seems normal in the day and then coughs like crazy at night. But now I think I'm getting a cold or something. My nose is all stuffy :(.

Sarah
I don't really fault you for starting XT so soon. I would have done the same thing, trust me. Don't feel bad. No one here judges you.
I understand about overeating carbs. It's so hard to limit portions because carbs are so tasty and the best comfort food. Ha, ha, remember I'm Italian? We grew up on pasta and bread :p. Whatever you need to do for YOU, then that's ok. Have you looked into Paleo? I remember you being interested in it. I know fit44 here on the forum is a big advocate of Paleo.

Jen
Once again, I'm sorry about the job. I'm not going to preach, because I'm sure you don't need that right now. Just know that I'm over here rooting for you :).

Have a good night :)

Hello Friends.

Happy Friday!

Natty. Yes, get those weights back now. Congrats on the heavier weight. Do you run a humidifier at night? It helped me get better faster. My cats love it too.

Colleen. Hope your vacation is fun and relaxing.

Sarah. Yes, I got it too. For me, it took over 3 weeks to recover. My extensive shoveling has been my workouts. Humidifiers, Sudafed and Tylenol. Plus, green tea.

Marie. Ryka's are the best. Yes, B is the hit of everywhere he goes. And, didn't know DSW had those shoes.

Update:
Life is moving on not necessarily forward. Dream jobs don't die overnight. Excited for my trip to DFW. Shoveling has been my workouts since I'm doing it twice a day. Only getting interviews from the State job site that offers tax credits for alot less pay than Texas and my previous job. My attitude will improve. Thanks for letting me vent.

I did Low Imapct Circuit for the first time yesterday. Wow was that a fun workout. Great step combos! Today was CSS plus the bonus step.

Tonight Tony and I are going on a date. His friend is in community theater so we are going to his show. Should be fun! Aunty and Uncle are watching B.

Natty- Have you ever checked out Rebecca Small? I have one of her workouts and hope to get more. She makes complex step. I love it! I do wish Cathe would make another though. Sorry about Bella. Poor love! Hope she feels better soon! I'm with you on that's summer thing! It's freezing here! Hate it! Yay for the boxing gloves :)

Sarah- Hope you feel better soon. Being sick is the worst. Drink lots of water as you already know. Don't worry about your workouts or as Natty suggested just take it easy. They will come in time.

Jen- Thinking of you and sending positive energy! Glad you're excited for your trip! I hope for only good things to come out of it.

Hi Colleen- I'm sure you're enjoying that nice weather. It's been below zero here up north...ugh!

Marie
I'm posting to you here before I go over to the new thread.
Hope you had fun on your date night :).
No I have never heard of Rebecca Small. I will check out her stuff, thanks!
I don't own Low Impact CIrcuit. The music looks rockin' with 80's stuff .

Ok, onto the other thread...
