We're In This Together (April 2013)

Quick check-in. BBL later for personals :)

Yesterday was 4DS Kickbox. I finally finished that rotation lol! This morning was UY Crosstrain. I'm at work now. I picked up a shift. With the bonus they are offering I figured I might as well. Tony works at 5. He picked up too. We are determined to pay off my dang school loans this year. So sick of them. So much of our monthly payment goes straight to interest it makes me ill. Ok enough of that.

B had his 6 month appt yesterday and he is a strong, healthy boy. He weighs 16lb 6oz which is the 25%. His length his 26.5in which is 39% and his head is 17.5 which is 68%. He got more shots too. His reaction was so delayed. He didn't even notice the first one and then a couple seconds later he screamed. Poor baby :( And check it out....last night he slept 8 hours! That was amazing! Fingers crossed it continues :)

Colleen
Congrats on the mega steps!!! Really proud of you for choosing to walk to p/u the kids from school! I'm telling you, the more you walk everywhere, the more you want to do it! For me, that's my "endorphin drug" of choice .
I'm trying to think how you can do HC and Body Beast...hmmm . Well you really couldn't do the rotation exactly as posted. Ok, so with HC you work shoulder's and chest a lot, right? Well the w/o's are:

Build Back & Bi's
Tempo Back & Bi's
Bulk Back
Bulk Arms
Build Legs
Bulk Legs
Build Chest & Tris
Tempo Chest & Tri's
Bulk Chest
Build Shoulders
Bulk SHoulders
Beast Cardio
Beast Abs
Beast Total Body
Bonus: Lucky 7 (circuit w/o! This looks AMAZING. Apparently you need to order from a Beach Body coach to get this bonus w/o, but I got a copy when I ordered from Amazon.ca ).

MArie
Congrats on B's awesome 6 month appoint! Don't worry about the long stretches of sleep...B will do more of them! Promise :).

Jen
I saw on FB you got an interview . That's AMAZING! Finger's and toes double crossed for you!

Happy Friday Eve!
Blessed to have an interview on Friday and another on Monday.
Grateful that all of our intuitions thought Texas was best for me. Never wrong.
Love it here. The only time I feel overwhelmed is near the frontage roads near the interstate and see all those cars.
Personals hopefully Friday night.

I went for a walk last night with my son, just to calm myself. The kids had friends over yesterday and it was a crazy mad house, in good way. Today instead od Burn Sets CBS, I did Hoco June (thanks Colleen). It was good. I also played with UY Circuit training but quit that because I felt like I could really benefit from watching it first. So then I did some pull- ups and chinups, just to get in my back really good.

Nat - I actually eat omelets alot. I dont use all egg whites though. I usually use 1 egg, with 2 whites. So today I did end up having one for lunch to see if I could curb the hunger I have been having for a few days. I had broccoli and a little sharp cheddar with it too. I really like mushrooms in my omelet. But if I dont have shrooms then I have to add the cheese. Have you come up with any variations that are particularly delicious? You really are making me want Body Beast. Enabler! I don't have a fish market near me. If I did sure would eat it more but it is expensive especially when you have a family of fish lovers. I'm glad you are seeing results and I'm sure with the DOMS you have been having its because you are adding muscle. I made a chicken dish last night I think you would love. It's called Country Captain chicken. It's basically a braised curry dish but it is also braised in a mango chutney. So you get the whole savory/sweet/spicy combo.

Colleen - Good job on getting your steps in. I love walking with the kids. Its just really nice to have the time to talk with little distractions. Where as at home sometimes when you try to talk with them they are jumping off the walls and the couches (either them or I am ;) I haven't done kickmax in FOREVER.
Next week I want to try hoco Vol 1 or maybe the Bootcamp (although that one does put fear in me) but they all are very challenging indeed.

Marie - I hope B doesn't start feeling crummy from his shots. I always gave my kiddos some Tylenol but I think I just did that to get my mom off my back (shes like a drug dealer). Whatever percentile he is for his size he is on the top of the charts for cuteness. So so soooo cute. Actually its really nice when you post a picture of B, because then I take the time to either remember a mental snapshot of when one of my kids was doing that same thing or I go look a picture of one of my cuties. I always kind of felt like because mine are so close in age I had a hard time enjoying in because it was soo crazy. The flip side is because they are close in age they always played together really well. And when they aren't killing each other they still do ; )

Jen - Interview???? Positive Vibes are heading your way!

Sarah

Hello everyone :)

Yesterday's w/o was BB Cardio + Abs. It's TTOTM for me so I was very tired going into the workout. It was not my best, but I tried my hardest. Today is my rest day (sore as HELL!). I did a nice relaxing barefoot cardio by Jessica Smith on youtube (30min) this morning. It felt sooo good [ahhh]. Hopefully today Bella and I will head out to the park and enjoy the spring weather.

Not to enable you guys ;) but check out this short vid of Sagi talking about Body Beast:
Body Beast Results - The Body Besat Difference - YouTube

Colleen, check out a glimpse of Bulk Legs 00:40:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mb6nM326ZRs&NR=1&feature=endscreen

Look into his gorgeous eyes and tell him you are not interested in his program ;):p:D. This program is THE BOMB .

Sarah

I put everything and anything in my omelet: peppers, asparagus, goat cheese, ricotta, spinach, kale, whatever veggies or cheese I have handy! A great combo I found was ricotta and spinach :p.
Ohh yes I love mango curry chicken! Mark is not a fan of sweet and salty, so I refrain from making that type of "combo" often .

Have a great day ladies!

Confession: I just ordered the new series today. A little voice told me to. So, I listened. My workout room/office is almost complete except for the TV. Still haven't moved it yet.

Positive/confident about the interview. Investigated the website so I DO have questions.

Nat - Turns out my family isnt a fan of the sweet/spicy combo either. They said it wasn't bad. But me on the other hand couldnt get enough. It was a little too good and I got stuffed, but I didn't put it over rice just a bed of spinach (okay, several beds of spinach).

Jen - Wishing you all the good luck in the world for your upcoming interviews.

Colleen - Shoulders are super sore from Hoco yesterday.

Today was Supercuts. I was super tired but because I think this one is fun, I pushed through. I cant keep up with Cathe and crew for the 5 sit-ups and 5 push-ups combos. But I did them all. Last night I also went to Zumba, I am going to commit to once a week with it because I enjoy the dancing.I really need to fit in some yoga relax today too.

Sarah

Today is my rest day and I'm really grateful. I'm pooped! It occurred to me it's been about 8 weeks since I took a back off week with yoga/Ellen and I usually try to do that every 6 weeks. Whoops! I'm going to start tomorrow with a little Ultimate Yogi. :D

I think I want to start concentrating more on lifting over cardio for awhile. You've inspired me Natty! I WILL get Body Beast at some point in the near future...this I've already decided in my mind. However, to space out my purchases but still scratch this lifting itch, I've got a plan sketched out using my HC and Cathe's in May. I'm going to put aside my kettlebells for a bit and back off the cardio just for a change of pace. Here's my rough plan:

Sun: Lower body plus HC 101

Mon: rest

Tues: Upper Body lifting (mish-mosh from various Cathe dvds, trying to hit all of the upper body muscles since I don't want to devote 2 days to upper lifting)

Wed: Cardio/Legs (like XTrain cardio leg blast or Plyo legs from STS) + hip thrusts

Thurs: HC Hardcore or Volume

*Fri or Sat: Hiit Cardio alternating TTM/Afterburn/Tabatacise/All Out Low Impact Hiit...that way I'm limiting my high impact even more.

*the second rest day will alternate depending on my work schedule

This is going to be really hard for me to stick to. I'm such a cardio junkie! We'll see how this turns out. The last time I spelled out a rotation to you guys I couldn't stick to it more than one week. I'm going to try really hard to do it this time! What do you guys think?

Natty- Like I said, I definitely want BB now! I'm thinking I would even use the shoulder workout because I realized the other day that while HC works the anterior delt a lot and I purposely focus on my posterior delts since XTrain, that my middle delt could use more work with shoulder presses and such.

Jen- Congrats on the interviews and good luck!! :D

Sarah- Don't be scared of Bootcamp...you can always pause and split the workout in half. Lord knows I make good use of the pause button. ;)

Marie- Great job on TTM!

Gotta run. Have a great weekend ladies!

Hope everyone had a great w/e :)

My w/o today was BB Build Shoulder's + 2hrs spent outside walking and at the park. So balmy out . I was able to increase my weights on some exercises today! Really happy about that :D. Also, I am FINALLY starting to notice more shoulder definition . I just knew I needed 1 dedicated w/o to fully concentrate on shoulder's! I love the way Sagi works them .

Jen
Happy things are on the up n' up for you!

Sarah

Speaking of dancing, I was looking to get Shaun T Hip Hop Abs :p. It's only $19.95 on BeachBody for a limited time! I think it would be super fun :D.

Colleen
Great looking rotation you got there . Since I have scaled back on the cardio, I swear to heavy almighty that I'm getting more muscle definition! I've never had such fast results from any weight training rotation EVER (including STS). I'm going to keep my cardio to 1 hiit/tabata per week from now on, just so I can maintain my heart health.

Have a wonderful day ladies!

Hey all!

My mom was in town this weekend. Yesterday we did AOLIH and today was Supercuts. She rocked them both. Hope I'm that strong when I'm 60.

We went to a big garage sale with kids stuff galore yesterday. It was at the state fair grounds. We got lots of good deals.

Sleeping B in my arms right now. My precious love!

Natty- Glad you're finally getting those shoulders you want! Sounds like Sagi is working you just right. Those pictures of Bella are too cute! Thanks for posting! What a love :)

Colleen- I'm loving your rotation. I like the 2 LB days with one being cardio too.

Sarah- Love me some SC! That 5/5 is crazy hard! I just love dancing too. I'm on the wait list for Tracy Anderson's Dance Cardio workout. My library had it so I'm super excited! Thanks for the compliments on B :) I usually give him Tylenol but this time he was ok, just really tired! He slept a lot the next few days. It's crazy how time flies. I'm sure it seems like just yesterday that your kids were babies.

Jen- The new Cathe videos? Good for you! And best of luck on the interviews. I was so excited to read that on FB.

Hi everyone :)

I hope you all had a lovely w/e. Yesterday we went to a beach/park 30min north of us called Heritage Park, which is in a city called Barrie. Once there we walked up and down the lakeshore and boardwalk. Bella played with the sand on the beach and had a blast dipping her feet in the cold water . It was a gorgeous day :).

My w/o (in addition to hours of walking of course ;)) was BB Build Legs. I broke out my 20lbs vest and upped my weight #'s considerably from last week. Mark got his 30lbs dumbbell's from his buddy, so I was really stoked on using them for this w/o . Let me tell ya, it was really hard to do 80lbs squats (30lbsx2+vest) using such heavy dumbbell's! I think I could go much heavier had I had access to a squat rack :(. I also love to use my barbell for squats, but there is just no way I can hoist 50lbs+ more over my head. The limitations of working out at home frustrates me sometimes .

Marie
It's SO amazing that your mom is physically active. You are very lucky to have her to look up to. I hope to be just like that when I'm in my 60's :).

Waves to Jen, Saran, Colleen!

Marie - I did a lot of Mothers of Multiple sales when I pregnant and when the kids were younger. They were fun to buy stuff at and also fun to do.
Glad you got your mom to exercise with you.

Nat - Hip Hop Abs does look fun, I had been eyeing that one for years.

Colleen - I spent yesterday previewing Hoco Bootcamp and UY crosstraining. Well I fell asleep during cross training. Boy the bootcamp is long too. But I will try it none the less.

On Saturday I did BodyMax 2 but I pooped out and ran short on time so I wasn't able to fit in the UB portion. But I did continue to walk during my daughters piano lesson. Yesterday was rest day, I did a very leisurely walk and Yogo Relax premix 1.
Saturday night was date night. I had too much excellent food. First we went to a barbeque joint for lunch then we went out to dinner also. We had a great time. I also got to go to Athleta but everything was too rich for my blood. I tried stuff on but really a tank top thats $55? No, thank you. I ruin clothes often so this doesnt make sense for casual clothes for me.

So I am done with Cathe's rotation and was hoping the new one would be posted but it isn't : ( So I have been feeling pretty tired so I was thinking about taking a week or a few days anyway. We will see thoug

Sarah

Quick check in before bed.....

I've been so obsessed with making a Shutterfly photo book lately that I've been losing track of time. I can't believe it's almost midnight! I'm working on a birth to 6 month one. I have so many pictures to choose from it's hard to narrow it down.

I did Step Blast this morning and then walked to Target in the afternoon. It was a beautiful day out. B and I had storytime today.....always fun :)

G'morning ladies :)

Yesterday's w/o was a 30min Jessica Smith power walk from youtube (I really like her btw. She has so many on-line w/o's and they're FREE: jessicasmithtv's channel - YouTube) + BB Tempo Chest & Tri's. My entire body is DOMS'ing hard right now. Today will be a rest day.

So, I am 1 w/o away from finishing the Build Phase of Beast . I really have nothing negative to say about this program -- IT'S AMAZING . My results so far? Noticeable muscle definition overall, especially in my obliques and arms. My legs and tush seem firmer. I believe I may have lost a few lbs (not intentionally). I think the weight loss has more to do with the increase in activity though, since I walk several miles every day. I'm getting stronger too! I was able to increase my #'s from the first week. What I found surprising was that I actually liked not having women exercisers in the video's. The guys (including Sagi) all have great form, and I find them very motivating. I love Sagi as a trainer! He always makes me laugh with his little witty comments. Bottom line: if you want wicked muscles, this program yields results fast!

Marie

You are so good for doing the Shutterfly photo book. I had every intention on keeping up with that, and my baby book, but for some reason I got lazy and left it behind :(.
Great job on your w/o's and walking!

Sarah

So how did you like the April rotation? WTG for sticking with it :).
Sounds like you had a nice date night. I really need one of those too.
A tank for $55? LOL, not for me thanks. I sweat too much outside and would end up ruining the tank with stains :p.

Have a beautiful day gals

I just couldn't stay always from exercising. I did feel tired in the morning but by 11 or so I was like, I feel great. Why not? So I did crossfire triple Tabata plus 2 rounds of a Melissa bender Ab WO. Then I went for a interval run with my husband but I felt extremely bloated (due to eating way too much sautéed cabbage) This morning I did Cyclemax. It's been along time since I have done this one because I usually do ride. The music isn't as good, but it's a great Wo, none the less.

Nat- ugh! You are really making me want to try body beast. Even though I really don't want to commit to that much weights. The power of an enabler ; )I am so glad that you are kicking its but and getting results of being stronger! You don't seem to have a whole lot of date days. Why don't you work out a deal with one of your cousins with kids where you each take a turn once a month? I really liked the rotation alot. Just waiting for month 2 now. I am a little tired of burn sets so I am I hoping that she uses some other weight WO. All 4 weeks was burn sets. I like it and its short and I get in the muscles really good for DOMS but I just need a change of scenery. I made an Oopsie yesterday and posted on the implant thread on open discussion. I don't know why I did. Perhaps I was trying to pick a fight. Perhaps it was a momentary loss of sanity. I think I was bored. Live and learn : (

Marie - I love the photo books. But only when someone else does them for me;)
I too cannot decide. My mom did a few and the kids look at them all the time. Are pictures are either on discs or in a box : ( it's a huge mess. Infact the only pictures I have up are 3 that my cousin took of the kids and framed for me. I have about 15 frames too that I bought 5 years ago to have a photo wall but
couldn't decide what pictures to use. It's my skeleton in my closet. But my goal is to get that done before summer since I have to redo the family room.

Jen- how was the interview? Are you officially moved in completely.

Colleen - you have been so busy lately. Are you still striving for those steps.

Sarah

Hello girls!

Today I did UY: Detox. :D I love how doing Travis's yoga several days in a row puts me in this lovely Zen state. I swear it's like my mind slows down and I feel very peaceful. :) That said, I always get antsy right around Wednesday when I do these weeks. :p I'm considering doing STS Total Body tomorrow. I have weight training on the brain lately with Natty's Body Beast raves!

Speaking of that...I was so close to ordering it this morning! I forced myself to wait until at least the middle of the month due to some finance stuff coming up. I can't wait to start my little hybrid rotation!

Sarah- I've been still working on getting those steps in! On Sunday, I walked 3 miles with the kids. I said to the kids "hey, let's walk to the grocery store and I'll get you guys some treats!" I figured it was a little less than a mile. Well, it turned out to be a 1 1/2 miles one way. I am SO bad at estimating distance! lol It was nice to get those steps in but I probably should have worn sneakers or something. I was wearing flip flops instead . The kids were happy to get some ice cream though! Last night we went for a walk as a family that added up to about a mile. :)

Oh and I read the OD discussion on implants and I think you sounded super respectful and just offering your opinion. Nothing wrong with that! I wouldn't worry about that at all. fit44 is super nice and I'm sure she wasn't offended or anything. :) Everybody has a different perspective on things and I think everyone should be allowed to express their opinions. That was something that went awry for me on VF...people went from debating issues to resorting to personal attacks when the discussion didn't go their way or they were losing an argument. :(

Have you gotten a chance to try any of the other HC workouts yet?

Natty- I agree with Sarah...you are a powerful enabler! I definitely feel like my body needs a change from what I've been doing. Time to "shock" that system! Thanks for the link on Jessica Smith...I saved it to my favorites bar! :D

Marie- awesome job on putting together albums! I'm like the other girls...I had good intentions at first and then totally dwindled on the whole concept. I now have two giant boxes (starting on the second box for each kid). I put all their artwork, mementos, Lydia's dance videos, report cards...you name it, it goes in the "baby box". lol VERY unorganized, but at least I'm keeping a lot of stuff in one place! :p

Jen- I hope everything is settling in for you! Have you had the interviews yet?

Better run...TTYL!

Sarah
I just read your post on OD. I honestly didn't think there was anything wrong with it . Your post was honest, polite, merely stating an opinion/thought. I don't think anyone was offended by your comment TBH. With topics that might be considered "controversial", I always try to stay away from them now. You just never know how someone will react. It's hard to gauge feelings on forums sometimes.

Colleen
LOL, me an enabler? You don't say ;). Before you order, try to get the package from a Body Beast coach so you can get that Lucky 7 w/o!!! I think there are a few coaches on the forums. I'm telling you, once you see that circuit w/o, you are gonna LOVE IT . It uses the EZ, but you can use your barbell (or even dumbbell's). TBH, I doubt you will regret this purchase. The Bulk w/o's are all around 30min give or take, so you can always tack-on a little bit of another w/o ;). The cardio uses weights to increase intensity (like AB). Not too much jumping or anything crazy, but man is it TOUGH. One killer 30min hiit w/o! You'll like it cuz' there are plenty of plank moves for ya ;).

I need to tell you guys about this new protein I've been taking called Casein. Mark ordered some for himself on BB.com, but I think I take it more than he does . Anyway, it's a slow digesting protein, meant to be taken before bedtime. It is so thick and creamy, and tastes OMG like a dessert. What I do is add 1/2 scoop with a little bit of coconut milk in a bowl. If you don't add too much milk, it turns out like a whipped cream frosting :p.
