Hello Friends,

Late last night and this morning, I experienced Vertigo (sensation of room spinning) to the extreme. It wiped out my energy. Called church this morning to let them know I wasnt going to be in for nursery. Could be stressed induced or diet. I feel hungry all the time lately too but happy I'm not eating all the time.

Have a Great Day.

Jen

Good morning ladies!
Mark just opened the patio door and it's already warm outside! At 9:42 am...in March! It's so disorienting! I still have the kids' snowpants hanging up with the winter coats and boots!

Last night was pretty fun. We had friends over and grilled out and then had a campfire out back. We have a pretty big backyard and my husband and brother-in-law had built a killer fire pit a few years ago. Good times.

Jen- I just have the GSL and the back, shoulders and biceps ones from the Gym Style series. I'm afraid to buy the chest and triceps because I hear that ones heavy on the push ups!! I got enough of those with Meso 1 of STS! I'm feeling those DOMS from GSL today. Those ball roll outs were so killer! They looked familiar. Does she do those in Butts and Guts too? I seem to remember something like that in that one but it's been awhile since I did the floor portion of that workout. I usually just do the standing portion.
Also, I saw on facebook you had vertigo yesterday...how are you feeling? My sister had that and it was the worst. I hope you feel better!

Natty- how did Bella's birthday party go? Was she spoiled To the Max??

Sarah- you're going to love the firewalker bands! It's so nice to be able to do firewalkers without messing around tying a big long band and holding it.
Congratulations on the new stove! Hopefully you'll like it. I like gas stoves too but I've had an electric for so long and I'm fine with it. I remember when I went from gas to electric I had to adjust my cookie recipe when I baked because the timing and position of the oven racks would be different for the cookies to come out right.

Ellie- I hope things are going well at work. When does the new person take over? Hopefully the transition will go smoothly. Who knows, maybe it will turn out better than you think!

Later girls!
Colleen

Hi Colleen-Yes, I think she does those in B&. Hope you're feeling better. Glad I didn't purchase Gym style series. Yes, I had vertigo last night and this morning. I could only sleep one way to avoid the spinning. This morning, I forced myself through it but came back harder later.
Going to get my phone but the contract part might be the stinger.

Happy Sunday!!

Hi everyone!

I thought we were doing a monthly March check-in, so I didn't start a new week. I post Bella's after party thoughts in last week's thread.

Today I got in some damage control of 4DS hi/lo step (1hr). It's SO much fun and I'm sweating buckets. Shorty we will be going to a nice park/trail that has a really pretty ravine with ducks and geese. Ahhhh enjoying the 20c weather.

I will be back to write more later on tonight, I'm starving!!!

Good day ladies :)

Natty-Isn't that premix GREAT!! That is one of my fave workouts totally.

Still tired from the vertigo, I have my phone but couldn't figure out how to post here. Cathe is hip to download for phone apps.

No workouts for me.....Just finished my reuben and canoli though.

Hi ladies :)

What a beautiful and warm day out. I love spending my days outdoors walking and enjoying nature. I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

Jen
Vertigo is really tough (so I hear, my mom has it). I am sorry you got it :(. Do you know what the possible causes are? I hope you feel better soon. I am a big cannolli fan. They could not have a made a more perfect pastry. My cousin makes them from scratch and it's heaven in your mouth I tell ya!
Colleen
Your grill get together sounded very nice. I'm glad you had a good time. Did you have a few drinks too? ;). Mmmm beer on a warm summer night just chillin' outside is the best. I wanted to get the entire GS series because heavy weights interest me.......but not a million push-ups! Ya, ya, I know Meso 1 has a ton of them.

Have a good night :)

Hey Jen,

It could be that you're not eating enough to support your workouts and other activity. Vertigo and hunger are symptoms indicating that you need to may need to increase your calories. Could also be something else, but your calories are something to consider. I hope you find out what's causing it. Hope you feel better.

Natty, I believe my Vertigo was a release of stress for my body since it occured after my trip to Ann Arbor being caught in the severe weather, dealing with my internship host in A2, working thru job stress, my new friend a little bit and the weather. It's been years since I've had it but it wore me out more since my body kept fighting it off. Very tired. Also, I would LIKE to meet your cousin b/c she makes cannollis and her Grandmother cause she likes sweets/pies.
*Haven't figured out how to reply on my new phone yet. I will soon. It comes back as quote so that might be the reply. Does anyone know? Thanks.*
Job hunt, groceries, workout and do some more work to investigate for another internship. Hoping for a good week. It's supposed to be warm till Saturday.

Nikki. I think you are onto something. I felt hungry all week plus the added stress. Hungry now too. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Nikki-I OWE you a drink or dinner if/when we ever meet. I was beginning to think it was my thyroid cause I felt hungry but I didn't want to pig out. This morning, I ate breakfast twice and felt great. Losing weight as well with only walking. So, I must eat. Thanks again.

Happy Monday :)

Another beauty here today. Is this even real? I'm not gonna keep my hopes up since March is a crazy month. Next week I may see snow.......oh please no.

Going out soon to the park so this kid can run around and burn some energy. Tonight is TBT UB, back to my rotation. Last week was all messed up, I kinda did my own thing. This week I'm back on track.

Jen
Perhaps Nikki is right, maybe you are eating too little. Have you calculated what your calories are each day? Perhaps try eating 5-6 smaller meals every few hours instead and see if that helps too. This stabilizes the blood sugar I think (I get angry, cranky and weak if I don't eat often). Stress could be a factor too, like you mentioned. Stress can do so much to your body, it's true. You mentioned you are losing weight by walking. That's great too! Walking is very underestimated as a great form of exercise. When I used to work full-time, I never really exercised, just walked a ton and did bike riding on the weekend. I never gained 1 lbs. I hope you are feeling better today.

Have a wonderful day everyone :)

Hello Friends.
Some good news, I am meeting with another company to determine internship. She got back with me on Facebook. From her writing, she is very confident on what she does.
My Vertigo hit after stress but I believe my low caloric intake is keeping it on. My goal is to eat more the next few days.
Not going to attend another peer group meeting, I'm not ready to go back. The togetherness factor is not for me. One or two friends but not the whole group. Resume and internship round table discussion. First, I like feedback but from too many people can be damaging. Second, the internship roundtable does not need to hear about my episode in A2 but a FB friend who is in the group might bring it up.

Thanks for your support and encouragement. Have a Blessed Day.

Jen

Hello everyone!

Thank you so much for your kind words about my situation at work. Well, I didn't tell you all the story though: in the meanwhile, I've been asked to become the new coordinator, but I know there's another girl also who's been chosen for that position. The "odd" thing is that she's very young and she's been working in the company only since last April (less than a year), on top of that, she works in another shop of our chain in another city, so if she moves here, someone must go there. Hopefully I will know what is going to happen tomorrow.
At home, we discovered that DH gastritis was due to gallstones, so he's started his therapy as luckily they are very very small so no surgery is required. yesterday morning Riccardo woke up vomiting and went on throwing up all the day through: those damned viruses!!!!
Today my little one is very very tired, hope he will recover soon all of his strenght because it's the first time that I see him in such a bad mood, not willing to play , not smiling and just asking for cuddles all day long, poor poor thing!:(
On the workout side, last week managed to workout 4 times while today, as it's my day off, I sweated a bucket with Athleting training, feeling it even more as still sore from Saturday STS disc 3-Legs.

Natty: how about Bella's birthday? I see you're enjoying 4DS as well: I love love love that series, it's so much fun! Recently I tried High impact circuit premix and was nicely surprised by the big sense of accomplishment I had at the end of it.It has so many premixes that you really get a lot of variety.

Colleen:so happy about warm temperature out there! We've had the same quick change of climate in a week or so, and now it's full of blossoms everywhere...Your backyard must be beautiful these days. Lucky you! How are the kids?

Sarah: I've read about your appliances...Oh my! Glad to hear that you have now a new stove, that is the kind of things I hope will never happen. Last year we had to change the washing machine and I was quite desperate because with a newborn in the house I was using that pretty much. Enjoy yourself with the firewalker band...I wish I had one but I bought a tubing recently so no more fitness equipment purchases for a while :D

Nikki: how are you? How about family? Are you all well?

Jen: vertigo: what a nuisance! I used to have them when I was younger because I didn't eat properly, now I try to stick with 5 small meals per day or if I can't I try to keep something sugary handy: I know it's not very diet wise but it helps preventing that bad sensation. Hope you're enjoying your new smart-phone: I just hate them, DH has 2 of them (1 is for work) and I'm always complaining that the only thing that is smart about them it's just their name because you can do anything with them but calling your friends!:D Obviously I'm joking, the truth is that I don't need them for job so no need to change to a more advanced phone at all.

Ok, enough talk for today....Hope to talk to you soon, have a nice day everybody!
Ellie

Happy Monday ladies!:p

Jen I totally would feel the same way about the peer group meetings. I find it very stressful in bigger groups with everyone throwing their opinions around and too many "cooks in the kitchen" so to speak. I get stressed out in large groups but I do really well with smaller groups of friends...like say 3 (4 max).

Natty- which rotation are you doing again? I'm starting to come to the end of STS and am looking forward to doing some circuit workouts again. I hope the modified reverse pyramid idea I have pans out. I may have to look at some of Cathe's rotations if it doesn't. I could never follow a rotation before until STS and now I love the guidance it gives me. During my rest/cardio weeks I feel like I'm at a loss and can't make up my mind on what to do!

As far as Meso 3...I'm feeling a bit "meh" on the upper body workouts from that one. I loved Meso 1 and 2 and I absolutely adore the Plyo legs from Meso 3 but I'm not feeling the love on the upper body work. The shoulders, biceps and triceps disc was okay and I appreciate working those muscle groups more since I can see the definition in my arms. I did chest and back yesterday and it is such a long disc. It was 68 minutes (for 2 muscle groups!) and I still felt like I needed to work out more so I took out Cathe's MMA Kickbox. I had only done that one once and couldn't remember what I thought of it and now I remember why I wasn't crazy for it. Combo 1 and 2 are good but combo 3 with the twist/turny moves doesn't do it for me. I wasn't crazy about the drills either but I love the core section. So, all this to say, I worked out for a long period of time yesterday but didn't feel totally satisfied or completely "worked out".:( Oh well. I think when I do STS in the future I may substitute other upper body work for the discs in Meso 3, like say Gym styles or PUB.

Say Natty- do you watch the Walking Dead? I can't remember from our tv conversation if you said you did. The season finale last night was intense!

Sarah and Ellie- how are you guys doing?

Just a question for you guys: have you ever tried travel fit? do you like it? I was looking for a workout to suggest to a friend of mine, who wants to tone her body without using weights and staying low impact. Thanks for your opinions!

Ellie! We were posting at the same time! Good luck with the job situation. It's so stressful not knowing what's going to happen and being in limbo like that! I hope your husband and son both feel better soon! Gallstones can be pretty painful I believe. When those kiddos are sick it's so heartbreaking when all they want to do is cuddle...yet it's so nice to be able to cuddle them! My kids are still letting me do that and I'm making sure to smother them with kisses and hugs now because I know it won't be too long before they won't let me do it anymore! My son is 7 already! He's such a sweet and lovey boy I'm going to be totally devastated when he outgrows the hugs and kisses!

Have a great day everybody!:D

ETA: Travel Fit is wonderful for an overall low impact workout. I really like that one. I actually gave it to my sister who is looking to get in better shape and exercise. I think it's a great way to start out and be introduced to Cathe because you can make it as easy or hard as you want depending on the tension of the band. Thumbs up! :)

Muwahahaha!...
So I just got off the phone with my husband who informs me he just bought some car parts (he's really into classic cars, has a 1969 Camaro that he restored). Soooo...I say, "so that means I can get the cardio club step now, right? Silence....then a sigh. "Oh fine!" :p I ordered it from Wayfair for $73.99 with free shipping! Whoo Hoo!

Colleen-Happy Wife, Happy Life...Congrats on ordering your step.
Ellie-Travel Fit is a great workout b/c of the band. It's not easy.

Now, I'm running a fever with the Vertigo, it would explain why I don't want to eat. Green tea may be my best bet. Extremely tired. Stressed too.

Have a Great Day !!

Wow! So hot out there! Not prepared......Bella had no sunscreen on or a hat. Poor thing was sweating buckets and her face was all flushed. Not complaining though, I'm loving me some warm weather

Colleen

CARDIO CLUB STEP FOR YOU!!!!! OMG you are gonna LOVE IT!!! I have to say congrats cuz' know what a marvelous piece of equipment it is.......I would literally die without mine!! Since I got it, my level of fitness has improved ten-fold. So happy for ya! I am really surprised you feeling "meh" about Meso 3. I love heavy weights, but of course I'm not doing STS so I can't compare it (I do although have the random chest & back, I should try it one day). I hate it when I do a workout and feel "not worked", just like you mentioned, like something was missing or lacked. I'm not a fan of MMA Kickbox, but hey everyone is entitled to an opinion. We were discussing it on my other check-in group, that more people should give constructive criticism on the forums for workouts they like/dislike (in a polite manner of course). Cathe can't please everyone and that's ok, we all don't have to love EVERYTHING she puts out. So I'm curious now, are you gonna open up your mind to more complex choreo? :D
Ellie
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!! Let me know asap when you get the news!!
I'm sorry to hear about your DH. I hope his recovery is quick and goes smoothly. And your poor little boy :(. It sucks when small kids get sick. But kids are very resilient and tolerable, they bounce back quick (unlike us adults sometimes). I hope he gets better very soon.
You managed to do great getting in 4 workouts after everything going on. Last week was a write-off for me too, I think I only did 4 workouts as well. Are you doing a new rotation in April?
Jen
Peer group meetings are not suitable for everyone. Only you know if it's right for you, and if it was stressing you out like that, then.....sorry to say it bluntly......well screw it!!!! Your health and happiness comes first.

Bye bye everyone :)

Jen I'm so sorry your sick now. Maybe you were just on the verge of fighting off sickness. Hopefully the vertigo will go away. Are you afraid to drive? Hopefully you have someone that will take care of anything you might need.
Please take it easy and take care of yourself.

Colleen- Yeeha. Good job on the cardio club step. I lent mine to my mom for the weekend to try some low impact and was annoyed when I had to go get it for my workout this morning. Oh well, I'm feeling good because I started on the first workout of the last month. I spent a little time looking at Endurance based rotations from fitness freak but now I am also thinking about trail running with another lady 2 days a week. Then again I really wanted to do a LB one as well.

Ellie - I excited for you to find out about the job. Hopefully it will give you more days with your hubby.

Nat - Very jealous of your nice weather but I'm glad your taking advatage of it.

Took my daughters shopping and to get haircuts yesterday and had a great time. They are changing so much. They actually tried on dresses and wanted them. They haven't worn a dress since they were 4. They also tried on TOMS. Loved those so I think that will be their resent from the Easter Bunny. I'm not sure how well they will hold up for kids but Nordstrom is really good about returns. My sister will be coming this weekend. So I will be cooking and eating way to much. We will be having Tabouleh, grape leaf rolls, leg of lamb, and a greek salad one night (maybe Baklava for dessert). I just love greek food. The rest of the time I still have to figure out.

I went outside this morning to take out the garbage and it appears one of my chickens got killed since I had 2 chicken wings with the feathers on laying in the yard. My dog is looking at me like I didn't do it, I just found them like this. The ironic patt is we are having Asian sticky wings for dinner. Yummy

Have great days all - Take care Jen - take care all
