We're in This Together (3.18-3.25)

I didn't look at the daily deals yet. I want them both. They were on my list. But then again, they are all on my list until I have the collection minus the STS martial arts ones. I'm just not sure.

Sarah
I was reading your post and then the chicken part came, and I swear I laughed so hard I think I might have had a little "accident". You are SO FUNNY! I always wanted to live on a farm, but then I'm not sure if I could ever eat meat again if I saw chickens and cows being killed. I am a huge fan of veal, and I know it's considered not very humane how the cows are kept in crates to keep them from growing. As long as I don't "see" that part, I have no problem downing a veal sandwich.
Your day out with the girls sounded so nice. Are they identical or fraternal twins? I always wanted to ask how difficult it was for you to have 2 children at once. I mean, 1 baby is hard, but 2? I can't even imagine. I hope you had lots of help. I don't think mom's ever ask for the help they truly need/deserve, especially during the first 3 months when things are the hardest.
Don't worry, nice warm weather is coming your way soon. We are gonna get hit with crap again and then it will be your turn to brag.
BTW, I found a rotation that is "endurance based" for you to check out:
http://cathe.com/forum/f100/june-09-rotation-263723/
Cathe has some really great ones that might interest you.

Jen
I just read about your nausea. Hopefully it's just a virus passing and you get better quick. Rest and take care of yourself and try not to stress.

Have a great night :)

Hello Friends.
Drinking white tea with rasberries at room temp is giving me enough sweetness to curb some of the Vertigo and dehydrate me for the fever. My mentor contacted me for another meeting, the first one went so bad I think he is totally doing it for image. We didn't connect on any level plus he is unemployed as well. The program has it's ups and downs for me. Responded back with no commitment to meet so I blew him off in the nicest way possible.

Have a Great Night.

Hello Friends.
Internship interview on Friday with a established business. I told her the truth that I have limited marketing but I want to learn so I may go over 80 hours although this opp is too good to pass up. My mentor understands with vertigo/fever. Havent heard from the guy yet. He is going back to work as a pilot and starts up again on Sunday so I'm sure he is busy. Thank GOD.
Sarah-Yes, I know plenty of ppl that dont eat chicken or other farm animals after watching them lose their life.
Natty-how are you?
Ellie-how is work?
Nikki-THANK YOU.
Colleen-My cardio improved many moons ago when I got rid of my Jane Fonda step for Cher's Club Cardio Step, the one Cathe now has that used to be pink/purple/turqoise. I just got rid of it almost two years ago after using it for 1989. The tread wears down slowly if you're stepping 4 or more days a week.

Good morning :)

Another Summer-like day here :). Headed out to walk around the neighborhood and then to buy Bella a new hat and some ingredients for that Lara Bar recipe that was posted on OD :p. I'm making the protein bars from Cathe's newsletter and those are great! Last night I did Muscle Max (UB only). Man that w/o is awesome! I felt totally worked and my arms were like jello near the end. Tonight is LBB . Colleen you are SO RIGHT, Cathe makes THE BEST lower body stuff!!!
Jen
Good luck with your internship Friday! I hope you are feeling much better today. I should ask my mom what she does for her Vertigo, but she'll probably just say she suffers and there's nothing to be done. She's really negative like that unfortunately. I do know this, she rarely eats breakfast/lunch. Sometimes she goes the whole morning/early afternoon without eating . And then she totally binges come dinner and into the evening. I'm not sure if the two are related. She has mentioned her vertigo started with menopause 10 years ago (she is 54). Again, not sure if they are related. Have a good day and take it easy :).

BBL !

Natty-You should like LBB (lower body blast?). Great workout. It looks like rain or more in MI with the warm weather and overcast skies.
Your Mom isn't that much older than me. My system got thrown off when I started working out in 1989. Tea seems to be working for me, white at room temp. but I already ate a banana-nut muffin with butter and whole grain bagel with maple nut cream cheese. Dinner might be Healthy Choice pasta/chicken thing. Binge-ing is not good for a person's system, too much stress from not eating then too much stress to process it-as you already know. Friday, I will do everything possible to get there and be on the ball.

Oh man, Natty, it sounds like you and I have the same mom. My mom just turned 60 this year and she has always pretty much done everything in her power to live as unhealthy as possible. She does the fasting/binging thing. She struggled with anorexia in high school and bulimia most of her life. It is very tough to watch her health spiral down and know she not only does nothing to make it better but almost seems to purposely do the things she knows will make her feel worse.:( That is the biggest reason why I work so hard to be healthy, exercise, eat well and just generally take care of myself. It's a reaction to watching that particular train wreck, I'm afraid.

Jen- Good luck on Friday! I hope your vertigo is subsiding. My sister had that and she was so miserable. Now that I think of it, I wonder if it had anything to do with her eating/blood sugar at the time. I'll have to remember to suggest that if she ever has another episode.

Natty- have fun with LBB today! You'll have to let us know how the bars come out! I should really try one of those recipes!

Sarah- all you talk about the Greek food had me salivating! I looooove Greek food! We used to have just one Greek restaurant in town and unfortunately it closed down a few years ago. Not too many people around here are into different, ethnic food. Tons of steak houses, fast food, chains, and "supper clubs". It's all the same! There are a few good authentic Mexican restaurants though.
omg, the chicken story is hilarious. I totally pictured your dog looking at you, with his head cocked all like "what?":D

Have a great day ladies!

Colleen you made me look at mine and I have graduated into a Cathiete too. Silly I know, but fun none the less.

I ended up not ordering the deals yesterday because.... Are you ready? My husband got me a spin bike!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited. However, my crotch won't be. Sorry.

Thanks Nat for choosing my next rotation. I'm so indecisive since having kids it's just easier to let someone else make decisions for me. It's like the spin bike, I've been watching for sales and looking on craigslist for 1 year and would have never done anything about it, but I then again I didn't have to : ) Part of me thinks it's because I made my husband walk with me yesterday in the rain and it was about 38 degrees too. He didn't want to go. I tried to use a line that I read pinterest with him about You never regreat excising once you've done it, but you always regret not doing it. I got a little side tracked there (sorry). Anyway I was very happy with the rotation that you found it's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks.

I feel a tad bit guilty because I didn't tell my husband about the previous order that I had made a couple of days prior on CATHE. Oops.

Jen I hope you are taking good care of yourself. Tell me what is the diffrence between white tea and green, in the taste? You need to take it super easy so you come back the string woman you are for Friday. If I lived by you I would make you some homemade chicken soup (no, not with the dead chicken in the yard). Chicken soup / chicken broth is so good for you when you are trying to fight off sickness or gett better from being sick. Thats, and for me, hot and sour soup when I have a cold.

On the mom subject. My mom is 65ish. She goes to Zumba but thats is where the healthy part ends. She has been on every diet. The lastest was the HCG where she limited herself to 500 cal. a day and thought she could still Zumba. She almost passed out and I said no more. Choose between the two. She will start eating healthy with greek yogurt and blueberries but then she adds 1/4 cup of splenda to the top of it. She drinks Pepsi One all day with no water and complains about her belly fat. She does Zumba 3 days a week. But the rest of the time during winter she watches every reality show and tv show on TV. Then if she not watching TV she is playing Farmville. She tells me I exercise to much. I love her, and now I guess I'm venting a litte and I feel like I'm hard on her.

My sister is the same she has been overweight for 17 years and went on the HCG diet lost all the weight and has kept it off for 2 years. But continues to smoke and only eats one meal a day.

Uh oh, I think I sound mean.

Colleen are you feeling any better about the UB STS Meso 3 yet?

Sarah

Congrats on becoming a Cathlete Colleen!!! And you too Sarah becoming Cathliete!! After 300, you are a Cathlete. Not sure if the status makes you any more "special". If you are doing Cathe workouts, you're pretty darn tough and deserve to be a Cathlete regardless of how many posts you have IMO. It's fun though, I agree :D

Reading about mom's, I can't believe you guys had the same problem. Mine was bulimic ever since I can remember. When I was little, I used to watch her "do her business" in the toilet. It was awful. She has always had this very unhealthy body image, talking about fat this and skinny that. Thank god I was never affected and used her as an example on how NOT to live. My sister however is the total opposite. I believe she will have an eating disorder and turn out like my mother. I'll never forget when she was 12 and my mother told her she could not wear fitted clothes cuz' her stomach was big!! I totally went nuts on her a**!! How can you say that to a child! Ok, enough, I'm getting mad just thinking about it. Needless to say, my mother and I are not very close.
Sarah
OMG a spin bike!!!! Congrats!!!! I want one bad, I mean really bad. I was close to getting one at Wal-Mart, but then Mark was like "if you are gonna get one, get a GOOD one!!!". He was talking about the $250 price tag. Not sure if $1000 is fitting into my budget anytime soon though. First Colleen gets a step and now you get a bike!! WTH!! I seriously need more weights and STS . Are you gonna do that rotation?? I'm happy you liked it. It looks SO good! And it brings back some oldies which looks like fun too.
Colleen
I am getting pressured to watch The Waking Dead. Mark says season 2 is crap. I don't care, I'm gonna watch it anyway. The other day I watched Slumdog Millionaire for the first time!!! What an incredible movie! I love the Bollywood dancing at the end. I would so love to try that (as silly as I may look). Indian food is YUMMY. Now I want butter chicken w/basmati rice :(
Jen
I'm glad the tea is helping you. I hope you get better soon and the Vertigo subsides.

Have a great evening ladies:)

Sarah-the difference between white and green tea might just be color. Don't know if they are the same bean, one more ripened than the other but the green tea may be more healthier. Red tea looks like rasberry koolaid. Yes, I would accept your chicken soup offer. My spin bike is 250 from Dunhams, SPX 90.
Natty-On to better subjects, did you get outside with Bella? It's supposed to be warmer tomorrow.

Sure there is some marketing benefit and some community feeling when a person's status changes here.
The warm weather isn't helping my fever, it might be egging it on.
Still tired but Vertigo seems better today, not sure about later. I think mine is caloric but also some dehydration issues as well.
Also, I haven't heard from the guy from Ann Arbor except on Friday after I thought I would take the high road and send a note that it was nice to meet him and I DID make it home safe....
Had fun talking to my niece on the phone tonight. She is in FL with my sister, BIL and my Mom.

Good Night.

Jen- I didn't know you had a spin bike too. How often do you use it. How long did it take you to get use to it. Mine is the Proform 290SPX. A nice mixture of price and pretty good ratings.

My husband called today and informed me he got a Ipad. I asked if thats why he got me the spin bike, because he knew he was going to turn around and buy that for himself. He never answered me, which means yes.

Now I don't feel guilty about getting the new Cathe stuff earlier in the week.

Sarah. I have the same bike as you. I put it together the same day and used it
I suggest getting bike shoes and gloves
Also, I adjusted it a few times.

OMG STS IS ON SALE FOR 152.00 (with the coupon) !!!

What do I do? I want this!!!!!! C'mon girls, tell me to get it! I think I'm gonna get it. Hmmm, now what did Mark buy for himself recently so I don't have to feel guilty.......thinking.......ok, oh ya the computer screen........but that was mine too.......he said he might be going back to the gym.......$40X12 months=$480 :D

I forgot to mention I got Jillian's new kickboxing DVD at the store yesterday. I could not resist me some Jillian . I checked it out and it looks pretty tough. She incorporates cardio blasts into kickboxing combo's and some strength too like push-ups. She looks pretty damn hot.

BBL, I'm gonna get ready for the park. Another summer-like day. Bust out the tank tops :)

Buy it now! You won't regret it

I DID IT
I think I got the best deal possible for $152.00 + free shipping (squat rack included).
OMG, I can't believe I own this now. I'm in shock. I HAD TO get it as I truly think this will be a program I can grow with and use for many, many years to come. Jen, you did it at 50 years old!! You are so inspiring.

Thanks ladies for enabling me. I really think this was a wonderful purchase I won't ever regret.

Gotta go! The park is calling...

CONGRATULATIONS Natty!! You won't regret it. A great commitment to your health. Thanks, glad I inspired you in a positive way. The guys are handsome too in the workouts

Yay! You got STS, I'm so happy! You're going to love it! I seriously loved all of STS except these last few upper body ones. It's really only the chest and back discs that I'm developing dread for. I think the inability to do pull ups caught up with me. I really really want the turbo tower now! Are you going to be able to do the pull ups or chin ups? Do you have some other door mounted bar you could use? I'm so excited for you! That really is an awesome price!

Sarah I'm so happy you got a spin bike too! I've always wanted to try spinning classes but the gym by us doesn't offer it. I really hope to get an elliptical some day. It's so much fun getting new stuff!!
Oh, and you're definitely not mean (talking about the mom stuff). Well, that is if you are, then I am too! It's so frustrating...I'm constantly made to feel like the "bad daughter" because I tell it like it is. I got fed up years ago with walking on eggshells regarding my mom, always acting like everything is fine or feeling sorry for her (which is what she wants...constant sympathy). My siblings all still do that to varying degrees and I just refuse to now. Unfortunately, I had to put distance between me and my mom to maintain my own mental health and stress level. I love her so much, but the constant worrying about her self-destructive behavior was too much. Okay, I promise to stop talking about mom's now!

Colleen - I will keep my fingers crossed that an elliptical will be yours sooner rather than later. DId you guys do your taxes. It's bonus time for us so thats what all of these fun things are. Now for 11 months, we will live frugal.

Nat - I got home at 10 and signed on first to see what the daily deals were and saw STS and said to myself, she popped on it. I knew buy 10 you had already made you move. Checkmate.

Jen- How long should I make my first ride (I don't want to find the next day that I have a sore crotch)? I don't ride bikes at all so I'm not used to it.

Sarah
