We're in This Together (3.18-3.25)

Good evening ladies :)

No matter how many times I do TB, it's still SO friggin' hard for me. I'm getting better about taking less breaks, but I still feel like a total wimp. It's not so much the working leg that hurts, but the supporting leg during the legs lifts. The stinging and cramping keeps me from successfully doing all the reps and keeping my leg up high. On a positive note, I can match Cathe with the high reps using 5lbs, which I'm proud of.

Today we had a yummy BBQ of hot Italian sausage, chicken thighs in BBQ sauce and asparagus grilled. It was delish! I think that little martini I had while preparing made me kinda buzzed . Thankfully, I was not the one who had to work the grill, or else I might have burned everything
Jen
I'm keeping my fingers crossed you get a full-time position.
Colleen
Now I can sort of see your frustration with Meso 3. But I guess I won't fully understand until I'm there. Holy leg workouts today!!!! I don't think you will be able to sit on the toilet tomorrow ;)

Have a good night ladies :)

Natty-TB is one of my easier workouts and I do understand the stinging part of it. You should be able to handle Plyo Legs. Don't worry about Meso 3 and be sure to stick with the recovery days, etc.
Ellie-Where are you?
Nikki-Busy as ever?
Colleen-how is YOUR weather?
Sarah-Hello.

Feeling better as the weather gets cooler. Since I've been eating, I think I put on 10lbs since I slowed down about two weeks ago. Spinning is next on my agenda with Trisets then I was considering STS.

Have a GREAT NIGHT!!!

Good morning gals!

Busy day ahead with visiting the in-laws in Hamilton (about a 1.5hr drive).
Just finished 40/20 . That workout is pure torture. Not fun. But it kicks my booty in under 30min, which I love.

Jen
Glad to see you are feeling better. Don't worry about the weight gain. We're here to motivate and support you. It's summer and you'll most likely lose it fast.

Have a great weekend everyone :)

Natty- 40/20 is pure torture and I haven't done it yet, I started once. The pyramid one I might do sometime. Have friends in Hamilton. Small world.

Just getting started today at 12noon. Didn't sleep well so I went back to bed. Work on the project for a few hours.

Peace.

Hey!

I'm in a hurry to go to a 2 hour Zumbathon, but I just wanted to wish you guys a great weekend.

I have been doing 10- 15 min on the spin bike and it makes my thighs burn like nothing I've ever done before. I don't know how long it will take me to work up to being able to do the whole disc.

Talk to you guys later.

Sarah

Well we got some bad news last night. Mark's Grandma is in the hospital getting some tests done. She had blood in her stool so they are going to be doing a colonoscopy tomorrow to see where it's coming from. The poor thing already has Alzheimer's, congestive heart failure and COPD.:( She's been so miserable the past few years. She is always tired and getting more and more confused. She is such a sweetheart too. Hopefully we'll know more early this week.

On a brighter note I did get my cardio club step yesterday!:) I'm trying to decide what workout to do tomorrow. I wanted to do some type of circuit (was eyeing Drill Max) but now I'm tempted to try a step workout because...get this...I traded for Imax 3 on VF. I'm pretty skeered though! We'll have to see. The lower body DOMS aren't too bad today despite my double workout yesterday. I think that awesome massage made all the difference! Do any of you guys get those? I love my massage therapist but she's unfortunately wicked expensive. She's the best in town though which is why she can afford to charge her rates. I wish I could afford to go more often!

Sarah have fun with Zumba! I wish I had the guts to go to a zumba class but I'm so self conscious...I have a hard time moving my hips like that!

Jen- so you're thinking of starting STS again? How fun! With you and Natty doing it together that would be so cool. I'm totally not abandoning STS altogether. In fact I have this plan to alternate weeks of STS with weeks of circuit workouts and pyramiding back down Meso 2 and finally to Meso 1 again. I think I'll just alternate between Meso 1 and Meso 2 in the future and use the Plyo legs workouts on their own. BTW, how did your interview go yesterday?

Natty- don't worry about Meso 3, like Jen said. You never know, that might be your favorite Meso! Everyone is so different in what they like. A few of the ladies in the STS thread felt like that one was their favorite so you never know! Btw, that BBQ dinner last night with the asparagus sounded awesome. Mmmm. Did you grill the asparagus too? I'm thinking of trying that this summer with some olive oil and salt. I have the hardest time cooking asparagus at home. I usually boil it and it comes out mushy.

Okay, gotta get going. Later girls!

Colleen-Enjoy your new step. Love Mine. Do you have 4DS? Sorry to hear about Mark's Grandma. That is hard to deal with.
My interview went very well yesterday. She does things right also she wants to pay me but if she does, it could mess up my unemployment. Working on a spreadsheet for the meeting on Tuesday.
Plan to visit my group on Wednesday.

Good evening ladies :)

Man, I don't know how people sit all day during desk jobs . My butt is killing me from that drive! My lower back is also really aching; not sure if it was from the car ride or I aggravated it during TB last night or 40/20 today.

Colleen
I'm so sorry to hear about Mark's grandmother :(. I hope her colonoscopy results come back normal. Right now my mother's first cousin is dying from lung cancer and has been given 3 months to live. I'm not very close to this woman, but she was at my daughter's baptism. It's so hard when family member's are sick and suffering.
When you got your step, didn't you open the box like a wild animal? Ha, ha that was me :D. Imax 3??!! That's how you're going to de-virginize your step? Get ready for a real a** whipping!! You're going to do great, don't worry. During the blasts, just go to your "happy place". I must warn you though, the step portion is a bit tricky. I even find that one confusing. But don't get discouraged! If I can do it, and I really used to suck at step, so can anyone!
For the asparagus, I marinate them in olive oil, sea salt and italian seasoning blend. On the grill they take only a few minutes. Yummy :p. If you make them on the stove, only boil them for a few minutes and then transfer them to an ice bath (this stops the cooking process), then saute them in a frying pan until fork tender. This should eliminate the mushiness.
Sarah
Have fun at your zumbathon!
Jen
I'm so happy your meeting went well. Too bad that lady can't pay you cash (aka-under the table), that would not mess with your unemployment ;). It's also illegal, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

Have a good night everyone :)

Happy Sunday.
Natty-when do you plan to start STS? I can start anytime. Meso 1, week 1 will be slow and light for me. My cardio for the recovery days might be spinning or shock cardio or something else. Hope your back is feeling better.

Goal today to finish project, to do laundry, etc. relax a bit. Yesterday, I felt I was back doing my MBA.

Not sure if we are starting a new thread today...I couldn't find one so I thought I'd still post here! Well, today I tried the misadventure that was IMAX 3. Yeah, um I did the warm up and was pretty happy I could follow most of that. There was one pivoty part where I got lost but that was it. Then she went into the first combo and I immediately got lost! Wow. I may have to revisit that one much much later! Sooooo...Drill Max it was today! LOL

Mark just came back from visiting his Grandma at the hospital. They just did the colonoscopy so they are waiting to see what the results are. We should hear more later today.

Jen- I'm glad your interview went well! Hopefully it'll turn into something permanent. I don't have 4DS but I used to have Body Max 2 and Intensity. I'm working on reaquiring those through trading at VF as well as hoping to get Athletic Step and Imax 2/Cardio and weights. I may get impatient though. I just listed a new trade list this morning and if I don't get any bites in the next few days I may just buy them!

Natty- I can't wait to try that asparagus! I never thought about the ice bath when boiling them...thanks for the idea!

Have a great Sunday everybody!

Hi everyone :)

I hope you all enjoyed your Sunday :)

Afterburn was on tap for today. My lower back was still hurting from yesterday, but I tried to attempt it. I could not squat low, hold the 10lbs dumbbell's and the plank positions were aggravating my back and knee's for some reason . I quit 20min in for fear of injury. I then put on MIC, and immediately got side cramps (that has never happened). I was like "oh screw it, I'm clearly broken today". I gave it one last try with 4DS Higher Intensity step. One of the combo's with a turn back straddle just made me mad, I couldn't get it. Clearly I was frustrated at that point. 45min of fiddling around and I just decided to call it a night.

Colleen
Yup, that sounds like me during Imax3. It took me like 5 tries to get the choreo down. Like I said, don't get discouraged, it's really not that difficult once you become accustomed to complex choreo. The more step you do the easier it becomes. Cathe's step workouts (even Step Moves which is pretty complex) all have familiar moves, she just sometimes put's a different twist to them. They all end up having a Cathe feel, and then it's not really that difficult. I have to add that once you get a step routine down, you feel SO good about it. The learning process is worth the end result. I engage my mind and my body while working up an awesome sweat and having fun, instead of going through just repetitive motions. Now I'm addicted! Body Max 2 is at the top of my list to get. That sucker looks like a blast!!
Jen
I don't have STS yet as I am awaiting Canada Post which can take up to 2 weeks. I wanted to get familiar with the workouts first and possibly purchase a bit more equipment before I start officially (I am going to see what I can purchase used, in decent condition). I was thinking May 1st. How is that for you? You can start asap if you want to.

Have a good night :)

Natty-May 1st works for me, I'm not in any hurry. When I decided to do it, months later, I was in awe when I finally opened it up. Then, I moved my workout DVDs to a better place. With your aches, take a couple of days off. Glad you listened to your body. Body Max 2, great workout.

Monday, I drive to visit my Mom. It's been awhile. We will visit northern Lake MI in Traverse City likely. My neighbor came over, he lives with a former co-worker of mine whom I always liked, to tell me there were dead birds in my attic. He will get them out tomorrow night with the blessing of his girlfriend. Tuesday, second meeting with my new company internship and Wednesday, I'm ready to go back to my program meeting.
