Hi Rhonda I was wondering how this one compares to KPC? I usually do not like kickbox think "tabo" I just never thought that qaas fun til I did KPC that I loved. So what is your thoughts on this one? Fun makes you sweat nicely! Lol thanks.

Also no I'm not around my dad. He is in Wv om on Sc about 5 hour drive. I can't go ne with him yet. There is noone to take my place at work on a whim and I'm already schedule to be gone first week of sept so she had to call temp service to take my place and I work one day in btw then I go again so already have a couple weeks schedule off.
U know I just lost my mom and I took care of her exclusively by myself... medical. Financial ..physical, every aspect of her life I saw her suffering I suffered watching her in pain and I think I am afraid to see daddy like that. It is to close to my mom passing. So I think I'm dreading going. I went in march when the problem happened went to doctor with him man I guess I'm a coward. I need and want to b with him. At same time I dread it. I'm a baby when it comes to my parents. I am not ober my mom yet to.
Ok well I got step moves in the mail I looked at it. Man looks fun and steady state ( lovn that) but I just hope my foot will hold up. I think it might. Now I wonder if I can learn the steps. It looks confusing.. I did yoga yesterday. To give foot a rest.
 
Hi Renee - I'm really sorry to hear about your mom's recent death, and now you're dealing with your father suffering as well. I can understand how hard it is to see your parents suffer, and it takes a toll on the children (no matter how old). I really hope you're doing ok.

Shereta - keep on running girl! Just think of how awesome it is to be enjoying the outdoors while you're running, enjoy the scenery, work on your intervals & speed training. I understand missing Cathe workouts - I really do. But at the same time, you don't have to run every workout day. I read a post on these forums from a woman who runs marathons, and she only runs 3 days a week, and mixes it up other days with Cathe workouts. So you can have your cake & eat it too!!

Sue - Going cold-turkey off sweets is tough. Probably the first two weeks of trying this will be super painful, and you'll be cranky and have lots of cravings. But try not to give in and just see what happens. You may find that in the 3rd or 4th week, you'll be feeling great. Only you can break the cycle (snowball). Just tell yourself "this is only for a month, this is only for a month", this will trick your brain into cooperating with your plan. Then after a month maybe you'll find that you can actually do this and you've broken your sweet tooth!

Gina - thanks for your encouragement! You're so awesome. And congrats on the 4 mile run! I'm glad that the walking breaks are helping you. Its a great method and I used that when I first started running. It helped me to get over the mental roadblock, thinking that running is too hard.

So I haven't worked out for 3 days now. I've been working on a project (painting a dining table & six chairs). Because I work full-time its really tough to find the time to get the project done, so I've been waking up early to work on it. I really want to get it done cause right now we have no dining table! I think I should be finished though tonight and then back to my regular workouts.

Actually the break wasn't bad - I think I strained my achilles tendon on my left foot and now its feeling a lot better.

Today at lunch will be a challenge for me because our office is having a party for someone leaving. There will be lots of food, lots of junk, lots of cookies etc. I know that people will comment on why I'm not eating all the junk and I hate being singled out like that. I'm hoping there will be some lean protein & veggies to choose from. I brought my own veggies & fruit to snack on later in the day just in case there aren't healthy choices today.

Renee - I enjoy the workout. I may be one of few but KPC is not a favorite of mine. I like the combos but getting to that point is a bit of a drag for me. Not big on the drill part.

I like Susan's as she builds up the combo's learn the arms then kicks and puts them together. There are four different combo's and once one is done, she doesn't go back. I definitely like her second workout better than her first one but they are both good. I haven't done the first one in a while so can't remember how it goes.

I just worked out, almost dinner time. Basic step + core from MMA KB. I know you can't spot reduce but I figure getting in more core can only help. I've been off sweets since the 1st, it's only ban the last few days that I've been really bothered by it. The only thing I've changed (other than slacking off on the workouts) is switching from 1% milk to almond milk. That can't make a difference can it?

Shereta do you have any races after the upcoming half? if you're not training for anything after that why not workout how you like as long as you're seeing results you want? it's your life, do what makes you happy!

Renee I'm so sorry about the loss of your mother. Being a source of support may be hard for you but it will mean so much to your dad. Even though you'll be supremely uncomfortable with the situation you can be proud that you're doing your part to support your family during a difficult time. I wish you nothing but the best :). how was step moves?

Melanie - how did the work party go? I would be uncomfortable too if singled out for not partaking. BTW, I have every intention of eating sweets come next month. I just need some time apart because it was becoming an everyday thing instead of an occasional treat.

Sue: Thank you I appricitate the words of encouragement! I will go see him soon, I found out they took him in this morning and he is in recovery I tried to call him but he is resting. I did send him some flowers.. I am planning on going ot see him the last week of Augest. I like Basic step !! I also like the on she has that is low impact step she is in red. I say that all the time and people act like they never heard it! lol
Oh by the way i didnt do step moves yet lol i was going to today but i kept messing with my old VCR to see if i can get it working to do a few Cathe vhs i got for cheap on amazon, and i got it to working and low and behold it was CAthe step heat in the vhs! So i started watching it to see how it was, after 4 minutes watching i started to so it!! It is fun that one is more like steady state or what i like.. it builds up to a peak and keeps it there and then cools down. Im old fashion i guess but some days i love that.. Core was good old fashion crunches! Havnt done those in a while not like she did them on here. I felt a big burn.. :)

Melanie How did the office party go? YOu knwo i got that alot when i lost the weight the first time it is liek peer pressure to eat bad!! I think that is rude for people to look at what is on my plate in the first place! I mean really do i go tell them hum gosh you sure do have a ton of food on your plate! Or dang do you always have to stuff your face like that? lol

Rhonda I think it takes me a while to like the first part of KPC also! I love the work out but some days i wish we can get right into it.. Is her stuff high impact? I wish i can find some low impact medium intensity stuff. There are some days i want to feel like i went for a long jog and i can jog now so i miss that feeling.. I dont want workouts with intrevals all the time.. I just want steady state once in a bluse moon.

In addition to step heat i added some Push pull upper body in there was not bad. I think if xtrain will be like i think i may love it.. i love to do cardio and then a little bit of weights at the end of the program.. see there is the old ways coming back !!! lol

Hi All

I really enjoyed HSC. It felt so good to work out with a 'group'. I understand what yall are sayng and its all true. After the half in Sept, I have a 10K on Thanksgiving day, so I can break up the runs more. Long run on Sat. Shooting for 10. Rest day tomorrow. I have to rest before a long run no matter what my week has been like. I'll re-read these posts right before the run to help pep me up.

Renee, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. : ( I hope your dad has a speedy recovery.

Yesterday I didn't do a lick exercise, not even our nightly walk happened. Today I feel re-energized and have the last STS plyo legs DVD planned and hopefully a bike ride tonight.

We had a small celebration yesterday for my mom, so the diet once again was put on the back burner. Sometimes falling off the nutrition wagon motivates me to really clean it up. Homeschooling starts on Monday, so structure is on its way.

I'm off to get a nice sweaty workout in, hope you all have a great day. : )
 
Morning all!! I've been experiencing some DOMS from TBT lower body I did Mon night :eek: Yesterday was gardening and a 2 mile Leslie Sansone walk video. I was so exhausted all day and today Im still dragging. I think it's b/c it's that time of the month for me where I don't have much energy at all and all I want to do is eat and sleep! I haven't worked out yet today nor do I feel that I want to really exert that much energy :confused: (odd for me). Maybe just another walk is all I'll do. I'll see how the day goes.

Hola mamacitas! I just finished KPC cardio premix. You ladies are right, I think that's the easiest Cathe warmup I've ever done. I'm a bit remedial right now so I enjoyed it :). I looked at the nutrition panels on the almond milk vs 1% milk and found the cow stuff has 7g more protein. So I'll be back on the regular stuff after this carton is gone. Forcing myself to workout, not even very strenuously, has improved my mood and I'll stop being a Debbie downer now :). I think I just needed to get

I dont have time for personals but wanted to report i just did step moves, It was fun! I really have to do it again to learn it.. i was lost a couple of times but i think if i do it again i will get it after a couple more times..

Happy to say DAD is out of surgery and i talk to him on phone.. he was joking around. He is so strong! He was telling my other sister he needed toe nail polish lol.. of course you know he has no toes.. well anyway he said he is moving around!! I ask it he was in pain he said no, but he wont tell me if he was.. He is going to be 80 yrs old this Oct.. he is a miricle if you ask me both his parents past early his dad at 45 heart problems and his mom late 50s to early 60's not sure why i thin cancer.. but dad is kicking it still. He wont sit still, now i know where i get my stubborness.
I will be back tomorrow!
