Happy Friday, All.

Today's run was raggedy. lol Im in some kinda funk, but Im pressing through. I know I need more rest.

This week, I've learned being strick with my workouts may lead to stress all by itself. And, working out does not give a license to over eat or make poor food choices.

Off to shower.

Hi I think we all have those days... you are still at it so that's great!
I did push pull yesterday ..I'm not advanced with weights so I think I love this one. I can make it harder just by doing heaveir. So I have room to grow plus I love the music. Also if I do this one for awhile I can tell if I get stronger. I think that is my problem I got a lot of cathe dvs and I am mixing it up to much. I never can tell if I've improved because I don't do one more then once every three weeks! So step blast for me today I rhink. I miss my running so bad. So to gove me the outdoor feel at least I think this evening after diner I'm going for a walk. Just have to make myself not brake into a jog lol.

Hey Renee - Awesome job on losing a pound. It all adds up!

Shereta - maybe you need a little rest. A break from running. If its not fun, that's not a good sign. Try running twice a week - really easy runs, and throwing in a couple of Cathe dvds that bring a smile to your face. Just a suggestion. I'm sure you know what's best for you.

I'm not down in my weight at all - very frustrating but it is what it is. I'm trying to do everything right so I can't beat myself up. Maybe I'm eating too much fruit? I really thought I'd be at the 150 pound mark right now. Oh well.....

This morning was a 5-mile run with fartleks thrown into the middle of my run. It was very humid, so I was grateful for a little wind! After that I did STS Meso 3 Disk 30 (shoulders, bis & tris).

Melanie, you're exactly a week ahead of me on STS. My shoulders were tired tonight. I did a short kickboxing workout right after, which probably wasn't a great idea. Hilly climbing on the bike tomorrow, I can't wait.

I hope everyone has a clean weekend. : )

Tina

Hey, Ladies. I ran again today cause I just felt like it. :) 5 miler. It felt good.

Thanks for the suggestion, Mel. What I think I needed was a good nights rest. Im so off balance - mind, body and spirit when I'm sleep deprived. The culprit is the olympics. I was trying to get some veiwing in in the evenings. Sorry, USA, you're not worth it. I'll catch up with the news, the internet or on the weekend. I've learned my lesson. I need my sleep.

STS-TB on tap for tomorrow.

Nice run!
I took it easier today I ddid low impact step with total body sculpt.. I wwasnt feeling like exercises but I pickedone that was less intense to at least get something in. Turned out it was perfect for today.
Well hope everyone got a great workout !

Something I learned this weekend, I can't keep up with the big dogs. A large group of cyclists caught up to us and invited us to join them. About 10 miles in, I was toast. I don't think I'm meant to go 26 mph as an average speed. DH was so sweet and stayed back with me, then we had no idea where we were and ended up way off course and had a grueling ride home. Look forward to a routine ride tomorrow and hopefully some kayaking later in the day.

It feels like summer is rushing to a close and kind of bummed me out today, until I remembered we have Xtrain to look forward to. :D

Renee, good for you for listening to your body and working out according!

Fembot, I'm so glad DH did not leave you. Getting home would have been worse if you had been by yourself.

Today, I did a premis of TriSets instead of STS-TB. TriSets is way more fun and short. The Olympics got me again last night. But, I got up on time and got it going.

Good morning everyone,

Renee - that's awesome that you still chose to workout even though you weren't feeling too energetic. There's always something we can do that is less intense, but still makes us feel that we got in a good workout.

Shereta - glad to hear you got in a better run.

Tina - sounds like you live in a really beautiful area - biking & kayaking? What a great way to workout. How far do you go when you go kayaking?

This morning I set out at around 7:00 a.m. I felt immediately that it was hot & humid, and thought I would probably only get in a 5 mile run. But by the 5-mile mark, I was feeling so good, smiling from ear to ear. Decided to keep going and had my longest run ever - 9.75 miles. I was dripping with sweat by the end of the run! Even though its hot out, the wind helped and I chose to run in areas where there is more shade/trees along the path.

So today I'm determined to keep my eating healthy so I don't sabotage my workout. Lots of water, lots of veggies and lean protein.

Have a great day girls!

Hi ladies - I haven't checked in in a few days. I resolved to have no sugar/sweets for August and I'm rocking that promise to myself. The first time I did it (Jan '10) I was a horror for the first two weeks. Have repeated a few times since then when I felt my sweet tooth getting out of control and it's been a little easier each time. Even baked my banana bread today (it's hard for me to throw out a brown banana) and gave it all away. All week stuck to my meal plan, clean eating every day until yesterday. I was confronted with biscuits and couldn't resist. Hopefully that'll count as a reset day for my metabolism. I've been working out every day too, but not too strenuously. Abs weights & plates jacked up my abs though. That's where I think I'm weakest - core. I'm trying to move workouts from night to morning. Night workouts have kept me up sometimes to 2am. Only got up early enough 2 days this week for a morning workout, other days were during lunch & early evening. Bedtime has been a lot more reasonable but I have a ways to go before I can make better, long-lasting habits. My weight hasn't changed - I consider that a win since I'm not gaining :) Okay I"m a tiny bit bummed, but eventually I have to start losing right?

Shereta - I noticed that there's a link to your blog on your posts. I hope you don't mind I went out and read a bit. You seem a LOT more upbeat now than you did a year ago. Just keep going w/ a great attitude and you can't help but succeed!

Renee - congrats on that pound! Each one takes a lot of work so don't diminish the success with an "only". :)

Melanie - awesome long run! I hope to one day be doing it because I truly want to - not just because I feel obligated.

Tina - I bet that grueling ride put some more endurance in you :)

Have a wonderful week ladies :)

Wow 9 miles that is so fab! I went for a jog today! I was so happy I love jogging but PF has kept me from it but I thought id try it today. I did 2.7 miles because I was afraid id make my foot hurt again I don't want to get to where I can't even walk again. But it was so nice out today! Its usually too hot this summer to.but It was windy and beautiful so I went slow and enjoyed!
I then did some of gym style legs. Man I couldn't stay on the ball. I tried but I think its to advanced For me. Like I said before I'm just now getting into weights. The weights on this wasn't to heavy but the ball section just made me feel like a the piggy tryn to roll and grunt lol. I did what I could. Only burn 271 on that one mostly cause by the time I got the move modified she was getting ready for something else lol. So back to legs and glute and supersets for me til I get stronger.
Thanks you all for ur encouragment! It means a lot! I hope I can get names right soon so I can start being encouraging to you all!

Happy MOnday, Yall. today's workout was Intensity Step Premix. I am so hyped every time I do this one. I love the music.

Sue thanks for the kudos. I'm really trying to stay focused on my weight and fitness goals for the second part of this year. This checkin really helps. Good job on going sugar free. Thats amazing to me.

Renee, it's so hard not to push yourself when you're feeling good. Good job on keeping your foot in mind.

Gonnabea5 , How long is the step portion of that one? I may try it. I bought it 5 months ago. Did the whole dvd once and not all of it yet. I understand it has a lot more too it then just as is. But I developed the PF right after so I never got to do it again.
Today may be rest day. Mon or tues are my usually schedualed rest days. I just never know which one most times.
I ate bad last night... I don't know why. I stayed up late... couldn't sleep. Not a god day today.now I woke up feeling pregnant headache and sleepy. Y do I do that? I do so good then screw it all up. I ate Ice cream!
Maybe I need to do something to counter the ice cream.. but I do need day off. Maybe ill do a walk during lunch brake. If it isn't to hot I do not want to smell like sweat to the patients! Lol

Didn't get to kayak this weekend, hopefully next week when DH is on vacation. We live on the seacoast of NH and there is endless ocean inlets to paddle through, absolutely spectacular scenery. We opted to due hours of yard work instead, blah.

Woke up sort of burnt out. I started hearing some shoulder snapping this weekend, so I only upped my STS weights by .5 lbs. Something is better than nothing, right? I have an urge to make cookies today, but I will stay strong and fight that thought.

I hope you all have a great day. : )

Tina

Renee, that step portion is about 28 min with a 5 min warmup and cooldown/stretch. The total premix is 37 min. It is one of my all time favorites. The music is wonderful. I try to save all my high impact for runs, so I modify this so Im not jumping. It still gives me a great cardio and sweat fest.

As far as your "off" day, you mightwant to do some serious evaluations. Is it Ttotm? If my eating is bad, it reaks havoc on almost all of me. But, everyone needs some ice cream every now and then.

Sue, I did read that blog. I knew there was a reason I love the hard cardios like the imaxes, intensity and Crossfire.

Happy Truesday, All

Today's workout was 10 sprints on the dreadmill. The sprints were for a distance of 200 meters which is half a track lap. My fast pace was ranged from 10:00 to 10:45 mph. I'm definitely getting stronger. Dreadmill intervals really take the boredom out of the workout. I was really impressed with myself. When you do intervals like this, you're supposed to 'practice' the pace you'd like to run at your next race.

Good morning girls - I was MIA yesterday, but am back and feeling good. I needed a break yesterday, mentally and physically. So I took my rest day yesterday instead of Wednesday.

This morning was STS Meso 3, disk 31 - 90% of my 1RM. I am almost DONE this sucker!

Sue - don't beat yourself up too much about the cookies. Just keep focused on your goal and keep positive. The minute you get negative, you'll want to comfort yourself with food!

Renee - good job on your 2.7 mile run! Don't you love working out outside? That's too bad about your PF. Are you getting enough stretching done before & after your workouts? I had a problem with PF a couple of years ago and found that really stretching especially my calves, helped alleviate the problem. I also bought a device to help me really stretch out - its called the Medi-Dyne Pro Stretch. That thing really helped me work through pain in my feet. You can find it on Amazon.

Tina - I really hope your shoulder is ok! So, did you resist the urge to make cookies?

Sher - that's awesome to hear about your workout this morning and that you're feeling stronger! WOOHOOO!!! Keep going!

Have a great Tuesday everyone.
