!!!!!!!!!Weightloss Challenge for Nov

Hey, ladies. today I did the step portion of Intensity. I was not strong at all, but i made it through. I have been extremely busy over the past 3 days and did not eat nor rest nearly enough. We were hosting a conference. It was all worth it though. But today I'm back on it all.

No workout today, it was too beautiful outside. Enjoyed the day cleaning with the windows opened. It was so nice to take our walk tonight without hats and gloves. Back to business tomorrow, M2D1 and LIC cardio premix.

I hope you all had a great day! : )

well I've just had two unintentional rest days in a row, got my lazy on. my eating has been atrocious for the last half week, need to clean that up. will do D7 ch/sh/bi tomorrow. For those who asked about how to get the mud off, there was a big truck that sprayed water at the crowd, almost firehose pressure. then off to the port o potties (ugh) to change into clean clothes (which immediately became dirty clothes). some people had a portable shower in the parking lot. yes, I'll do it again next year, will also look at some possible 10Ks.

Tina I love your statement "I am solar powered":) I'm glad your weather has been friendly this weekend, I'll bet you can't wait until the days start getting longer again.

Melanie how was the English pub? I don't have step blast, is it more choreo-like?

MJ I saw the walk/run plan you posted on OD, how far into that are you? Are you liking your results? BTW, Daniel Craig is my favorite Bond :)

Shereta how was your conference? I like when Cathe says "love your body for what it gave you today" sometimes we're not strong and that's okay :)

The conference was awsome. It was the first one we've ever hosted but I took good notes from previous ones we've attended and ours went very well. Some hiccups here and there, but God worked it all out.

Today's workout was Trisets upper body. I might try to sqeeze a run in later since I do have a 10K scheduled for next week. YIKES!!!!!!!

Good morning all -

I've started a rotation of 4DS. Yesterday was Higher Intensity plus weights (back & chest). I was going to put off the workout but decided to do it, and really enjoyed it. I've never been able to match Cathe's weight selections on this workout, but yesterday I was able to! Except for the chest press with 30 pound dumbbells - I dropped that to 25. But I was also able to do all straight-leg push-ups! So that felt really great.

This morning was Low Intensity plus weights, and again I had great energy throughout the workout. I think my month of doing circuit training plus total body strength training really improved my strength.

Or maybe its the vitamin B & D that I've been taking...either way, I'm feeling good about having more energy. :)

This week my goal is to be more conscious of my sodium intake. I bought Mrs. Dash to use instead of salt on my morning omelettes. I tried it one day without any salt, and had to add in a little. I've also switched from the microwave popcorn with has a lot of salt to using kernals in the air popper, and adding just a pinch of salt. I'm really trying to cut back and see if that helps me with my weight loss.

Tina - glad to hear that you enjoyed the sunshine yesterday, its so nice to have a sunny day and be productive.

Sue - maybe you've been eating more because of the Warrior Dash? I mean, that looked intense!! Step Blast is very choreo-based but it is fun (I love step choreo). There are three basic routines, at the end you put them all together followed by three intensity blasts.

I enjoyed the pub immensely!! Didn't stress about it and just allowed myself to enjoy the food. It was amazing.

Shereta - great to hear you're doing the 10K! Is your hubby doing it with you?

Just as a little side point -

I was watching a preview for Ilaria Powerstrike Kickboxing, and I couldn't help but be amazed by her abs - holy cow... impressive.

Have you girls noticed an increased pressure on women to have six-pack abs? I'm not taking anything away from Ilaria for her abs - I think its amazing that she is that fit.

There just seems to be more and more emphasis put on six-pack abs in women's fitness magazines. Its just funny how expectations for how a woman should look have changed over the decades. If you compare pictures of women in the 80s versus now, don't you find that women in the 80s were not so toned?

Anyways, I'm probably complaining because of my perma-pooch.

This morning was M2D1 and LIC cardio premix, which was awesome, I'd forgotten how fun the step portion is. Sue, not one push-up in sight! I'm going to add plank work this month to keep the shoulder endurance up.

Melanie, I agree with you on Ilaria's body style. I admire it from afar, but wouldn't want that as a goal. Do you have any of her older workouts. I've never tried her workouts, I worry about the constant drum beat music. Are you going to pre-order? Funny about Cathe's weight on 4DS. It shocks me everytime I see her using 30's for three sets of chest flys. I have all I can do to do one set with 26's. Good luck with the sodium intake, I just lurve my salts.

Sue, I think you deserve to rest and replenish, that race looked intense!

Shereta, is DH running with you on the upcoming 10K?

Hi MJ, how's it going?

: ) Tina

Hey, Yall

Today's workout was LBB. Hate those pulses of any kind.

yep, DH is running with me. Or should I say running in front of me. hahahahahahahha

gotta run.

keep up the good work. yall are inspiring me.

This morning was M2D2 legs. I'll be adding some floor work and abs tonight. My upper body is screaming with DOMS from yesterday's workout, yikes.

Home made chicken soup and bread for dinner tonight. No plans for dessert, just some orange slices.

Shereta, that's awesome that you and DH have running to share together. A 10K sounds grouling!

Hi ladies! Yesterday was D7 ch/sh/bi, teeny tiny improvement in the pushups. I went out for a walk/run tonight but it turned out I didn't have any run in me.

Melanie great job on the pushups and matching Cathe's weights! How are you liking the salt substitute? I've been using no-salt-added tuna for quite some time but recently bought the regular stuff, boy what a difference! I had to put the salted stuff in the donate box. Funny about the 6pack abs, maybe younger women feel pressure to live up to that body shape. I just want to be able to wear a fitted blouse again! I am glad that muscles on a woman are becoming more socially acceptable. I really liked my 4ds rotation, I think it got me primed to take the STS plunge. Bootcamp is my favorite cardio in that series (except for around the clock pushups and squat thrust jumps).

Tina you keep tacking more onto your STS days! Have you always done it that way or has your approach evolved? Your dinner sounds yummy :)

Shereta Are you cooking & running on Thanksgiving? busy, busy day!

MJ how are you doing?

Hey ladies. No workout today. Up too late last night.

I cant believe the 10K is a week from today. Normall, we run, eat at Waffle House, tap a nap and then cook. We almost always grill cause that's what we like. We grill whatever we want and I make whatever sides we want. Sometimes we have hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken, sweet potatoe casserole, potatoe salad, green beans, corn on cob, apple pie and ice cream. It truly is whatever we decide we want. Never traditional for us.

Okay, I have got to back to journally. It's more stressful to me, but ever time I start PMSing, I start loosing track of what I ate and how much - and any weight I've loss comes right back. Argggghhhhhhhh

Good morning!

This morning was 4DS Kickbox, plus I added the Hiit routines from Intensity and the Bonus Butt Workout from Cathe's February 2011 Rock Bottoms rotation. My legs are friiiiied.

Tina - I'm not sure about ordering the new Ilarias (are they new?) I was just on Collage Video checking out what is new, and noticed that you can pre-order some of her workouts. I think for now I'll just stick with Cathe. I have tried other instructors, but I always come back to Cathe and the other dvds get forgotten (I've tried Patrick Goudeau, Michelle Dozois, Amy Dixon & Kelley CM).

Sue - good to hear STS is getting slightly easier. I think you'll really love Meso 2.
I like the salt substitute. I also bought low-sodium tuna & salmon and notice a difference. Hopefully it helps...I always feel like its a huge guessing game with me.

I know what you mean about wearing fitted blouses again - I'm not quite there. If I wear control top nylons, then I can pull it off, but those aren't always super comfortable plus who wants to wear nylons with jeans???

Shereta - You can do the 10K, piece of cake girl! Just keep reminding yourself that its only half of a half-marathon, which you've already been training for an know how to run! Awesome that you reward yourselves with Waffle House. My parents live in Georgia and whenever I visit them, I always insist on going to Waffle House. It baffles them why I love it so much, but I just do! Maybe it has to do something with being called "Hon" everytime I go. :)

Good Morning-

Doing a drive by posting...Its been insane this week at work so this is the first time I have been at my desk for more than 5 min. What have I done this week...Mon was my unintentional work related rest day. Tuesday was M1D2 bk/bi in the morning and 4DS Kickbox cardio and abs in the evening, Wednesday was walk/run in the morning followed by running around like a crazy person at work all day, then tonight will be some sort of step and M1D3 Legs.

Will take a breather this evening after working out to catch up on everyone. Hope you are well.

MJ

This morning was Amy Bento's In the Ring and STS pilates abs. I have to limit myself on how often I use In the Ring, it is by far my favorite cardio workout, but I don't want to burn it out. It has everything; choreo, intensity, great music, and medicine ball intervals.

Melanie, I hear you on trying new instructors. Cathe and Amy Bento are the only two that really click for me.

Tomorrow is STS back and bi's and Saturday is another day off, two in one week, WOOT! : )

Hi all! today was D8, back & tris, everything except pull/chin ups. I'm getting more comfortable with the program, switching equipment more efficiently.

Shereta your Thanksgiving sounds nice and not stressful :) Other than pie I couldn't give a hoot about the traditional dishes :) What does your running schedule look like for the next week? Do you journal on paper? You might consider adding gold stars or some kind of ornament to your journalling to give you an Attagirl instead of stress.

Melanie I think the woman who created spanx wanted the control top w/o the hose so she cut off the feet, nice inspiration huh? Your workouts continue to impress me :)

MJ nice job getting in the workouts with your busy week :). is this your first time w STS? it is for me.

Hi to Tina :)

Hi All

today's workout was 75% of STS TB. Good workout.

I journal on paper, actually its a nice one. I bought a slightly bigger purse so it will fit comfortably in it. I use different colored pens to log workout, good food choices, weight loss and getting to bed on time.

I will have to find a pull up bar. I probably can do half of one right now.

Today's workout was AfterBurn. Hadn't done this one in a while. Very solid interval cardio workout. Very good on the joints. Burned 900 calories. Wow.

Journals going well so far. My weight has been up and down. But today it's down by 1.2 lbs. If only it could just keep going down. I'm so determined not to gain this holiday season. I'm even being so bold as to write down a goal for this month. I will let you know if I reach it. Not an unattainable goal; just 4 lbs. We shall see.

Nice calorie burn Shereta! Good luck w your 4lbs, my goal this month is to not gain weight. Next month I'll go for 4lbs, 1 lb per week.

I'm 2 days behind on STS, will do legs tomorrow then start week 4 on Tuesday.

Chilly ninja ride this morning. Once you get past the initial ice cream headache, it's not so bad. We finished it off with BM2 abs and stretch. Super tired still from my night out with my sister on Friday. We had a blast, but my age is starting to catch up with me. Yesterday was no workout out at all, not even walking. I don't want to talk about my eating behavior, nutrition is just not on my radar right now.

I think I need sleep...
