Very sweet story!

Ok, this is rather long, but I have to tell it. About 4 years ago my husband and I had to get rid of our cat because our apartment complex wanted $1000 deposite for her, and where going to hike up our rent $50 a month. So, we gave her to a non kill shelter. Since then WE've moved to a house.
Yesterday dh gets a call at work from a lady in Hugo, MN It's about an hour north of the cities, I believe. She tells him that she's found his cat. Dh asks if she can describe the cat for him and she does. It all of the sudden clicks that it was Gidget, our cat that we had to get rid of due to the apartments. I guess that Gidget had run away from the people that adopted her a while ago and ended up at this ladies back door. Because she had a micro chip in her with our names she was able to track us down! So, now Gidget is back home, and we are soo happy to have her! Dh thinks that this is a gift from God, he's so happy to have her back.
I just had to share that story, because of how neat it is to see that those micro chips at the humaine society do work. And now we have a cat back that we never wanted to get rid of. Yay!!

That is very cool Kathy. It must be great to have a member of your family back again. What an awesome Xmas gift!

That is such a sweet story. I had something almost like that happen.
We had a neighbor that HATED cats and complained to me all the time so I have to cat to the man that runs the animal shelter and he said he knew of a home to put her and he took her there, she had been gone seems like a month or so, One morning Bruce went to work at about 4:30 am and there was this cat on our sidewalk staring at our house, we wondered if it was our cat (Smokie) so we called it and sure enough she came running and nearly jumped into my arms! Of course I gave her to a new home that I knew would keep her indoors and she has been there ever since and miss her so much.

Thank you for share this awesome history with us. I have a cat 15 yars old and I can not imagine my life without him.

What a wonderful reunion! (though I feel sorry for the people who adopted her and don't know if she's dead or alive! It may not at all be their fault that she ran away...cat's are very good at sneaking out!).

Oh, I dont' blame the people that adopted her, it would be kind of interesting to find out who they were and what might have happened, but I'm affraid that if we did a search they would want her back. And we aren't willing to give her up again.
I have to say that she must have ran away a long time ago, because she is very skinny, like you can feel every vertibrae in her spine, skinny. But the lady that found her brought her to the vet and she's healthy, so we are just making sure she gets plenty of food right now. And rest. The women is very sweet and called last night to make sure dh and Gidget made it home ok and asked if it's ok if they call every now and then and see how she's doing.

I really enjoyed this story. It must have been awful to have to get rid of your friend in the first place, and now you have her back. I love it.

What an uplifting story...funny how things work out sometimes. I think some xmas catnip is in order for the little lost kitty that just wanted to go home!
