User Names

Edited to fix my spelling. grr.

You guys are so funny...

Maximus, I would never have pegged you for a Laura. You LOOK like a Maximus!!!

Shelley, I just assumed you were a wild thing. Hehehehe.

Dymph the nymph...}( (ok, I am sure you get that all of the time, Dutchie, but you do look like one)

Charlotte, I have often wondered what "toastythemosty" could possibly be and I thought maybe your kids preferred that particular breakfast food... hehehe.

Mine is easy. I am a redhead (no need to point out this is actually a color ENHANCEMENT, ladies) and mct are the first three letters of my last name. On other boards I am often mctx3, which means mct times three (me and my two rugrats)... but everyone then thinks I am from Texas. That seems like a worse false advertisement than "red." ;-) You can see that I have absolutely no originality in selecting usernames!

Cheers,
Marie

Timber is one of my dogs. He is a 100 pound German (Czech lines) Shephard and he was born in 1999 :) He's the most loving, dedicated man that I will ever have in my life!

Christine :)

Maximus - I can't see as a Laura any more than I equate Whoopi Goldberg with her real name - Karen!

Gina - We share the same b'day...just a decade and a half apart!

I too hate having my name shortened. I am really Patricia but I've been called Trish since I was really little. For some reason though when people see Patricia they can't get past the first syllable and they come up with 'Pat'. I hate Pat! Mostly because it's connected to the high school trauma of being called Flat Pat. But I've sat in dr's offices waiting for my name to be called while the lady stands there and says "Pat!" "Pat!" It clicks in eventually and boy do I look stupid to everyone else in the room when I finally respond!!!

Anyways, I digress. Someone called me a firecracker, not as an insult, but as a compliment because I carry alot of power in a small package. I really liked that compliment so I adopted it as my name. 67 is my year of birth. It also reminded me of my brother's car a '67Firebird' - a definite classic.

We were discussing our different user names the other night at the table with our family and my dd, who often just doesn't 'get it' says "So why are you 67firecracker? You want everyone to think you're a pyro that burns crackers?" DUH! I couldn't respond I was laughing too hard!

Obviously I like Calico cats so thus the name I used, otherwise I am not creative and probably would have just used my first name,LOL!!:+ :D

Mine's not too interesting... Fitchick is pretty obvious but the 1716 was the last 4 digits of my telephone number at one time. I am not 17 or 16 years old. :)

Sometimes I use fitchick1980, which is my birth year. Yes, I was born in 1980. My co-workers all find that hysterical. :)

Jocelyn

Midnight is the name of my 16 year old, long-haired black cat. She is very good at sensing my feelings and has been very attached to me since she was a kitten.

Also, I love the night....I'm a bit of a stargazer.

Oh, Christine, that's so sweet! My boy Dado was also born in 1999 (german shephard/doberman mix) and I feel the same way about him. My ebay id is dadosmom!

Angie

Mine is simple and boring. "Mar". My name is Mary Ann. I usually use my dog's name "Montana" (a girl dog). That's my user name for everything and when I started to feel I was loosing my identity (bark, bark) I thought for this forum I'd go with at least a part of my real name.

Great Thread!:)

desertbriez is my girl dog's full name! (although we call her brie)

so i "stole" it from her!

i guess i should spread the wealth and use tyler's name too: desert dream.. but it doesn't run together as good (and brie is older.. been using it longer!)

cute work out clothes are good for AT LEAST an additional 10-15 calories burned!

joditoad is a nick name my big sister gave me when I was little. My family calls me Jodi, instead of Joanna. 1974 is the year I was born.

Mine is really weird, I know! LOL

joanna

I am LOVING that "PetFixR"!! LMAO!

40something...no more need be said.:p

Mine is a nickname my eldest bro gave me in college, when I went through a growth spurt. If only such growth spurt were vertical, and proportionate all over...

It was either hippahips or earthcock, since I was born in the year of the earth rooster. But I thought "earthcock" was... uhm... too suggestive.:)

My son calls me "Sgt. Mama". I guess I could've used that, too.:)

The Texas gals said I didn't look like a "hippahips". Very sweet of them to say so.:)

This thread is a hoot!

Mine is simple: I had been doing The Firm tapes for about 17 years when I found Cathe so I am "oldfirmie".

Tammy

Hi, mine is made up of my first name Cathy followed by dsRNA which stands for doublestranded RNA. The biotech I founded uses a form of dsRNA to induce a type of gene silencing known as RNA interference. We are using it to develop therapeutics for Hepatitis B and C.

Mine could not be more boring. I had no idea when I signed up that the name I filled in would be the name everyone would know me by for years. I would have picked something a lot more fun. But now I'm stuck forever with my first name and month and day of birth. <YAWN>.

Mine is very uncreative...I wasn't in the mood for thinking of a name when I joined the forum back in the day. Although...I did have a screen name for AOL a few years back...LittleXena420. Little, obviously because I'm small. Xena because I fantasized I could kick a little butt. 420 because I used to be a stoner. That's stoner code for "it's party time", in case any of you moms hear your kids answering the question "What time is it?" with "4:20".

But...my Cathe name is just my boring ol' initials and birthdate.

In reference to Dymphina and Shelly's discussion of having people attempting to alter their names, I used to have a coworker who insisted on calling me "Doh-NAY". I HATED it!!!! Her name was Bonnie, so in an attempt to discourage it, whenever she'd call me Doh-NAY, I'd call her "Boney". The name didn't exactly fit her either.

Mine is pretty self explanitory, only that I'm not really that new of a mommy anymore now that my daugther is 16 months old.
