User Names

Buffettgirl (Robin)- :7 :7 :7 :7 LOL! Buffet girl? That is so funny, but we know it isn't that. I had a very funny picture in my head and just couldn't help but burst out laughing.

I was 42 when I signed up here... easy eh? Well, my real name.. you sure about this? Don't you like to wonder? I mean, if you knew it all there's nothing left to question?

You're so clever Shelley!

My name is kind of boring, but I thought it had a nice ring. JCrew- when I created the name for my AOL screen name a few years ago, JCrew was one of my favorite places to shop. The "3082" is for my b'day, July 30, 1982.

Previously, the name I used for a lot of things was Pervette730. I created that one when I was like 15 or so. "Pervette" was the name of a MAC lipstick I really liked, but after a while I decided no one would take me seriously with a name like that!!!

oh no, no shortening of my name. New people try to and start calling me Dym, Dymph, Fiena. I warn them only once: I don't listen next time... they do it again and I don't listen, they stop doing it :)

OMG Gina you're so YOUNG!!! You're even younger than my boyfriend!!!;) 1982. Let's see, in 1982 I was... well, I don't think I can even remember that far back.

And, ummmmmmm, why am I clever?:p

Angie -
I'm disappointed! I had kinda hoped you a Buffett fan too, with a user name like Finsgirl. Jimmy has a song with the chorus "Fins to the right, Fins to the left" referring to land sharks, and alot of his fans use the word in user names, license plates etc.

And I had to clarify the buffet thing. Someone else had the same funny mental picture of me. Jimmy B - two t's, the food thing - one t.

Melrose is the name of my parent's farm (it's been in the family since about 1830.) The melrose is a beautiful pinkish-cream rose native to the area. There is one bush that's been there for a loooong time. Old letters refer to the many melrose bushes that used to be all around.

Robin - Sorry to disappoint! I am a Buffett fan but *sigh* unfortunately not very creative! We did go to Margaritaville in New Orleans last year and I have a plaque in my kitchen that says "It's 5:00 somewhere!!"

I can relate. There are certain people in my life who are allowed to call me "Shell" but I absolutely hate it when people who don't know me try to call me "Shell". Or people I don't really like. They find themselves at the receiving end of my world famous Level 7 Death Stare.

I just thought bubbles was kind of a funny word, and it kind of sounds like stripper doesn't it? (not that I am or ever was). Apparently other people like that username so I've had to amend it to bubbles100.

Dananmis 22 = Dan (DH) + Mis(sy) + 22, the day we were married in March. Dananmis was already taken. He started it, and we use it for everything.

I love to see what people choose for usernames. I have seen some over the years that just stick with me. Like Ooops101. I thought that was the funniest name. Like a bonehead class in college, but an ooops class.

I used to be geoducky because I'm a geologist and I like ducks LOL. Now I'm just ducky for short.

Mine is pretty easy. Obviously, my sign is Libra. Plus I was born in 1971.

When I signed up for yahoo email years ago, libra1971 was taken already so I added the zero before the year and that has been my username everywhere since.

I've often wondered about the stories behind the user names. This is an interesting thread! Mine is pretty boring. I work in information technology (yeah, a geek) and we track the work we do in a database. The database concocts a tracking number using the first three letters of our first name and the last three letters of our last name followed by a number. TRUTON is what the database knows me as. People started calling me that at work, so it kind of stuck. I guess TRUTON is better than what my colleague's worked out to be: CATIRD (we pronounce it 'cat turd').

Oooooooooh, my daughter wants to be a geologist!!! Not that it has anything to do with this, but she's quite passionate about it. I wonder what you need, education-wise, to get into the field?
