(Tri-Staters) Talk me into or out of...

...dropping by Cathe's KB/BC class on Monday the 16th. I actually grew up in the town right next to Cathe's gym and I'm going to go visit my mother and sister over Prez Day weekend. My sister wants to treat me and take me after talking to DH. So the idea is that DH, DS, and I would drop by the class. But I'm worried that we might not be at a decent enough fitness level to enjoy the class. I'm such a klutz, and I don't mind looking awkward at all, but I'm afraid that I'm so slow that I won't pick up anything and just stand in the back in awe. So, if anyone can give me an idea how hard the classes are in intensity and complexity, that would be great! Thanks ahead of time!

I'm not an official "Tri-Stater", but I have gone to Cathe's Friday morning step class several times. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to keep up at all because I'm not the most "consistent" exerciser, but there is something about being in a live class that gets you going. I can do workouts with Cathe in person that I know I could never get myself through at home. I am definitely not at the level of most of the Cathe-gals here, but I wouldn't hesitate to go to another class if I had the chance. And there is nothing wrong with doing what you can and taking breaks to stand in awe! ;)

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I invented the word klutz, and I also invented the word slow...and I love Cathe's live classes...there is no pressure to perform like Cathe, just perform like yourself..it'll be great.

Just to double check that Cathe is teaching..you may want to shoot an email to [email protected], sometimes business/family commitments crop up.

You'll love it, if for no other reason than to meet Cathe!!

Not a Tri - Stater either but "GO!" If you have the opportunity don't pass it up!! I would so love to go w/o with Cathe again!
Be sure to take pics & tell us how it was!!
Have a BLAST!! :D

I just went to her step class today!!!!
I go on tri staters and sometimes by myself.

Don't worry one little bit about your fitness level. Her classes are full of energy and excitement. You can modify anything!!!! Not everyone in her class is a super athlete. There are lots of beginners too!!!!

Ok! I still have to work around the schedule of two demanding nieces who don't like it when their uncle and aunt are visiting and not playing with them *every minute* but hopefully this will happen!

Just saw this post and have to agree with the others -- definitely go!! You're talking about going to Monday's class which is a Kickbox/Bootcamp mix so you won't have to worry about any choreography -- basic moves but she varies the class so she sometimes kicks it up a notch!

Like Jerry said, I'd definitely check to make sure Cathe will be there since it's President's Day and she may have made plans with her kids since there's no school.

Have fun and let us know how it goes.

Well, I called the club and they said as of now it looks like she is teaching the course. *Crossing my fingers* And Laura -- YES, come down and pull my butt in there!

Don't tempt me!!!

You will LOVE meeting her and being there!!!!1

I might just meet you there!!!!
Let me know for sure your plans. Anyone else interested!!!

Quick question -- how long should I get there before the class so I can pay and find everything?

Depends....if you're like me and just want to get started, then 15 minutes to get in the door, pay, put your extra stuff in a locker and GO! Or, longer if you want to tour the place and maybe meet Nancy from Customer Service?

HAVE FUN!!!!!

Gayle

Ok, not to put a damper on things, but what about your feet, woman?! I think you should go and ask Cathe to make sure it's low impact!!! Have fun, chiquita -- I'm so envious!!

-Beth

I talked to the doctor specifically about this! He said to modify as needed but even the week of low impact has reduced some of the issues so I get this ONE day. it makes it even more special!
