Ecoli has been found in cookie dough. Throw out any you have in your fridge.

It can't get any worse than this. What's next on the recall list? Oxygen?

Here in Phoenix oxygen had already been on the list. We have several days a year where the air is so bad people are advised to stay indoors.

Yeah, I ate the raw cookie dough last week  I think if I were gonna get sick I would have done it by now. I love me some raw cookie dough:p

:D You made me LOL with that one!!

First the peanut butter, then the cookie dough...wasn't there some ice cream in there, too?! I think it's a government plot...

I guess I'll have to have a salad for lunch, now, darnit.

I think it's a government plot...
The conspiracy theorist in me could see it as a plot by agencies that want to push food irradiation on us (which ties into the nuclear waste industry, because the stuff used to irradiate the food is a byproduct).

You are all invited to my house for Vegan Chocolate chip cookie dough! No eggs and it tastes awesome!

Here's one recipe:

1 Cup nonhydrogenated margarine, room temperature
1.25 Cups of sugar
1 T molasses
2 t vanilla extract
2.5 Cups all-purpose flour
1 t baking soda
1 t salt **
1.5 Cups semisweet chocolate chips

** We've made this recipe twice and have found it to be a bit salty. I plan on cutting the salt in half next time to see what happens, but I wanted to give you the original recipe to decide for yourself.

Preheat oven to 350°

Cream together margarine and sugar until fluffy.

Add the molasses and vanilla. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and mix well.

Fold in chocolate chips.

Eat raw dough (Kidding!)...(sort of...) :p

Drop by teaspoonfuls spaced a little over 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. **

** I found it pretty hard to drop using a teaspoon. I just formed the cookie in my hand. I also used a silicone liner on my cookie sheet.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Let cool on rack for 5 minutes, then transfer to cooling rack. Place carefully in container and hide from husband and children. Eat after everyone else is in bed.

Recipe from Vegan With A Vengeance by Isa Chandra Moskowitz.
